[00:00:00]Hey guys, Anthony with Cooking With Boats here. I want to talk a little bit about our latest and greatest. Yes, this is our latest and greatest. This is a 10-ft well, 9-ft 10-in beam boat, 30-ft hull length with a 3-ft swim deck, so it's 33 ft. Technically, with the math involved, we could actually stretch it a couple more feet. These guys could not because of slip size. So, they didn't want to have to get kicked up to the next slip size, so they just opted for going with a 33-ft because by the time they had the cowlings of their outboards in the back, as you're going to see in a little bit, they were like right right at like 35 ft 8 or something.

[00:00:57]So, they had to go with just 30 30-ft hull.

[00:01:01]Anyway, this is our super jumbo. Our super jumbo, it is a 9-ft 10-in beam.

[00:01:09]It is depth, you can see how big this boat is.

[00:01:12]Of course, it's sitting on trailer, but it is up front here 39° dead rise, 40° dead rise. So, they've already had it in like 3-4 footers and said you literally couldn't feel it. In fact, they had it in 5 footers and said they were still doing 25 knots. So, it's super dry, it's got the spray rail, it's got the flare up on the front, you know, the V, the lean out, I guess you can call it. It's called dory flare, it's famous for the for the Tolman skiff. So, a lot of the same lines and the same construction because it is hand laid epoxy composite boat over marine plywood or here's the good part. Here's the good part.

[00:02:03]Coosa composite. Yes, so we can build this boat if you want to spend the extra $30,000.

[00:02:12]Yes, it's $30,000 more. Why?

[00:02:16]Coosa is very very expensive. So if you watch my video from last week where I was talking about the campers, you know that I talked about honeycomb composite construction, glass ply, which is this, famous Tolman Skiff design, um which West Systems, that whole thing, it's epoxy construction. So it's fiberglass over marine plywood and then you've got this new these well, newer composite panels called Coosa, very light, it will never rot. Well, I mean, I've talked to commercial fishermen Alaska commercial fishermen and they said it could technically take on some water, but most likely it ain't going to rot. I mean, the stuff is 100% composite, has glass fibers infused. It is a PVC It's a PVC product, so it's foam core. So we can build this boat with Coosa composite if you want. So I'm going to talk about the cost here in a little bit. What are the differences in cost? Well, this boat finished through paint with I'm going to make get a little bit better view here. Let me get my uh tripod in I'm going to walk around a little bit here.

[00:03:35]So this boat, if you look with the way it's laid out with all marine windows, with the 990 International 990 paint, and with um uh the spray rail and then the hard chines, and it does have the UHMW keel, and we can do that in composite, too. So, this boat in glass ply, which it is glass ply, they opted to save some money.

[00:04:05]Uh, they ran it ran 130,000.

[00:04:08]So, that is just finished through paint with hardware. So, I'm not going to include any 12-V with that because everybody has a different philosophy on what to spend for electronics.

[00:04:21]So, why don't I include electronics?

[00:04:23]Because I've done it before where I um, I put a Garmin on it. I put the transducer on it. I put radar on it. I put outboards on it. And I and I put a decent trailer and everything. Guess what happened?

[00:04:39]They changed everything.

[00:04:41]So, if I go invest tens and tens and tens and tens of thousands of dollars to build the boat, and then the customer who I sell it to, cuz I know it's going to sell, is going to come in and say, "Well, I want Yamaha. I want Suzuki. I want a Honda. Or I want Garmin. Or I want a 12-in screen. Or I want touchscreen. Or I want this fancy transducer with a through-hull transducer." And then I I end up footing the bill because then I got to pull all this stuff off and then redo it. So, it's just easier to just give a flat rate.

[00:05:14]This is what it costs through paint, hardware, windows, etc. I mean, we've got all that stuff on hand, stainless steel, the plywood, Accu-Star board, if you want to do Accu-Star, and the glass, and all of that's on hand. So, I I can determine my cost, and I don't have to invest all of the money to come in here and throw a bunch of time and money at something that's going to come off again later anyway. So, that's the philosophy of why I just finished through paint. So, I'm going to give you a little walk around so you you can see, you know, the layout. You can see it does have that hard that spray rail which keeps your boat dry.

[00:05:59]Uh I decided to start using a mic and a gimbal or not a gimbal but a tripod because uh people were complaining they couldn't hear me. So, um yeah. So, this boat they did opt with twin Honda 200s.

[00:06:13]And uh they got the full swim deck.

[00:06:17]You know, the the trim tabs. Uh we did have to do a prop change. They were only getting about 5200 with some of their trial runs. So, you need to get closer to 6000 RPM so that you're um going to get the max amount of use out of your motors and your fuel economy and everything. So, hopefully that cleans them up.

[00:06:36]And uh let's do a walk around. Back at the transom, this boat is 16° of dead rise.

[00:06:43]So, um why why did I opt for 16°? Well, it's a compromise. So, I don't want to go like super deep V because then you guys that have been out on some of the really deep V boats in Alaska, you're fishing lot, you're sitting there and guess what happens? You're doing this.

[00:07:05]You're rocking.

[00:07:06]You're people get sick. So, it 16° is a pretty good compromise with a mono hull.

[00:07:12]You still get decent efficiency.

[00:07:15]You know, so your fuel economy is not going to kill you cuz you got to have that with fuel at five bucks a gallon.

[00:07:20]And you also but you have the lightweight hull.

[00:07:24]And up front you can go a deeper V. So, you can get a good ride or decent ride and you get good fuel economy.

[00:07:33]And you um get to decent ride out of it. And it's not going to kill you when you're sitting alone. So, on this boat, you do have the option if you want to put a sea keeper or something. We could put a sea keeper on it if you want to spend $15,000. So, that's your option. So, I'm going to do a little walk around here on the inside since this video is getting a little long. I wanted to get this done before we got too far too far along. This boat is going out on Monday. It will come back again to finish up one last item and then so you can see it's got a nice spacious back deck.
