[00:00:00]So, I want to respond to a couple of comments that I got under one of my community posts.

[00:00:07]There's a lot of MGTOW ish cope and denial and delusions going on.

[00:00:16]A lot of men think that single men are actually happier than single women, even though the evidence shows that the exact opposite is the case, right?

[00:00:28]And look, I can understand why why some men think this way or some men want to think this way, because um the reality that women have more power in the dating market is very uncomfortable for men, right? It hurts the egos.

[00:00:50]Some men want to strong men posture and make it seem like they can turn off their attraction to women and just be this this stoic independent guy or something.

[00:01:04]And this might be the case for like a handful of men or something, and they choose to be single voluntarily or something.

[00:01:16]And and that's all great. That's all fine and dandy, but I'm not going to sit here and pretend that this is the case for the vast majority of men or the vast majority of single men.

[00:01:29]Okay, there's a reason why we talk about the male loneliness epidemic and not the female loneliness epidemic, right? Or we're not talking about men who are just voluntarily don't date women anymore.

[00:01:47]But, the reality is that a huge chunk of men are basically locked out of the dating market.

[00:01:56]And one of the comments mentioned a video by I Dean Paladin.

[00:02:03]And I watched this video for like 8 minutes and then she posted a study which which supposedly showed like decline in happiness of women.

[00:02:15]And the study said that that women's happiness declined over over time.

[00:02:22]And it declined even more that than men's happiness.

[00:02:28]But this study is actually invalid in many ways.

[00:02:33]Because it's based on face-to-face interviews.

[00:02:38]And there was actually a counter study or a a critique of that study which used different methods and which used more anonymous methods.

[00:02:49]Which basically showed the exact opposite of that study, but we'll get to that.

[00:02:53]Right?

[00:02:54]So, first of all, here's global data on gender and well-being around the world from the Brookings Institute. We explore gender differences in reported self in reported well-being around the world both across and within countries comparing age, income, and education cohorts.

[00:03:15]We find that women have higher levels of well-being than men with a few exceptions in low-income countries.

[00:03:23]So, the data from around the world shows that women have higher well-being than men.

[00:03:31]Which is a direct counter to the study that I Dean Paladin showed which was only focused on the United States. And here's the direct counter to the study that I Dean Paladin showed.

[00:03:53]In contrast to Stevenson and Wolfers, I find that men and women between 1985 and 2005 experienced similar decreases in life satisfaction. I don't just want to respond to comments, but I also want to show you that women have greater power in relationship, and that this power translates to more power in other areas as well. If you have more power in the dating market and in relationships, that means that you have more power in general or over other areas of society.

[00:05:46]Ergo, they have more power than men in general.

[00:05:50]So, here's a very important concept.

[00:05:54]The principle of least interest. Now, what is this principle? The principle of least interest is the idea in sociology that the person or group that has the least amount of interest in continuing a relationship has the most power over it.

[00:06:16]If a person is more emotionally invested in a relationship, they have less power than the person who is less emotionally invested in that relationship.

[00:06:37]So, in order to figure out whether or not men or women have more power in the relationship, we have to see who is more invested in the relationship. Who wants the relationship more?

[00:06:56]Right? And the overwhelming evidence shows that men want relationships with women more than vice versa. The overwhelming evidence shows this.

[00:07:09]Men love women more than women love men.

[00:07:13]The evidence is very clear on this.

[00:07:15]Okay.

[00:07:16]Here is a recent Cambridge article, "Romantic relationships matter more to men than to women. We propose that relative to women, men expect to obtain greater benefits from relationship formation and thus strive more strongly for a romantic partner.

[00:07:37]Men benefit more from romantic relationship involvement in terms of their mental and physical health.

[00:07:45]Men are less likely to initiate breakups, and men suffer more from relationship dissolution.

[00:07:53]Men crave relationships with women.

[00:07:58]Okay. Now, now the part about the mental and physical health benefits that men might get that might be more subjective.

[00:08:08]But, anyway, the the evidence is very clear that men are the romantic gender, actually.

[00:08:17]They fall in love more readily, faster, and they are more devastated when the relationship ends.

[00:08:26]And as it turns out, men actually are physically and biochemically wired to be loyal to their female partner.

[00:08:38]Oxytocin enhances brain reward system responses in men viewing the in men viewing the face of their female partner.

[00:08:50]Oxytocin has been implicated in mediating pair bonds in various species, but as yet but as yet we know little about neurobiological factors that might act to promote fidel- fidelity, especially in men.

[00:09:08]Here we provide evidence for a mechanism by which oxytocin may contribute to romantic bonds in men by enhancing their partner's attractiveness and reward value compared with other women.

[00:09:22]So, men are basically biochemically even craving women and have an inbuilt neurological reward system that enhances their partner's attractiveness, which facilitates them being loyal to their female partner. There's also massive amounts of evidence that men have a stronger sex drive than women.

[00:09:57]And then women basically monopolize sex like a like a resource in a market.

[00:10:08]And we know from economics what happens if there is a monopoly in a market.

[00:10:16]The ones who control the monopoly have the consumer of that resource at their mercy.

[00:10:26]Quote, "A somewhat different explanation for why sex is a female resource can be deduced from motivational differences.

[00:10:35]Social exchange theory has featured the principle of least interest. According to that principle, a part a party gains power by virtue of wanting a connection less than the other wants it.

[00:10:50]For example, Waller and Waller and Hill proposed that the person who is less in love has more power to shape and influence the relationship because the one who is more in love will be more willing to make compromises and offer other inducements to keep the relationship going.

[00:11:12]If men want sex more than women, therefore, men would have to offer other benefits to persuade women to have sex, even if women desire and enjoy sex, too.

[00:11:25]Is it plausible that men desire sex more than women?

[00:11:30]And again, just to just to say this, like the fact that I even have to cite research is actually laughable because this is so obvious, right? This is all that I've shown here is very obvious.

[00:11:46]Okay, and then that men desire sex more than women is way it's extremely obvious, actually.

[00:11:57]Okay? But anyway, a literature reviewed recently examined the question of gender differences in sex drive by comparing men and women on behavioral indexes of sex drive.

[00:12:10]On every measure, men were found to display greater sexual motivation than women.

[00:12:17]Specifically, men think about sex more often, have more frequent fantasies, are more frequently aroused, desire sex more often both early and late in relationships and outside of relationships, desire a higher amount of sex partners, masturbate more frequently, are less willing to forego sex, and are less successful at celibacy, even when celibacy is supported by personal religious commitments. They mean voluntary celibacy here.

[00:12:49]Enjoy a greater variety of sexual practices, take more risks, and expend more resources to obtain sex, initiate more goal-directed behaviors to get sex, refuse sex less often, commence sexual activity sooner after puberty, have more permissive and positive attitudes towards most sexual behaviors, are less prone to are less prone to report lack of sexual desire, and rate their sex drives as stronger than women.

[00:14:13]If men had more power than women in relationships, why would men do more work than women in society and in relationships?

[00:17:00]And the finding is men report more loneliness than women. Now, men reporting more loneliness than women is actually very significant. A lot of people and a lot of feminists make fun of the male loneliness epidemic as if loneliness isn't a big deal or anything like that.

[00:17:19]Meanwhile, more and more studies come out that show that loneliness is actually a systematic stressor that is actually detrimental to one's health.

[00:17:31]Loneliness as a driver of allostatic load.

[00:17:36]Mechanisms linking social disconnection to physic to physiological dysregulation and health disparities.

[00:17:43]Loneliness is increasingly recognized as a multi-system stressor that continues to that that contributes that contributes to morbidity and premature mortality. Loneliness is associated with dysregulated hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis activity, elevated inflamma- elevated inflammatory biomarkers, altered amygdala reactivity, and cardiometabolic risk factors.

[00:18:20]These patterns highlight loneliness as both a psychological and biological risk factor.

[00:18:28]So, it's not just like uh loneliness is correlated with drinking or whatever that makes it a risk factor, but it could actually be a physiological risk factor that contributes to elevated inflammation.

[00:18:47]Here is also another study, loneliness, the immune system, and cardiovascular health, a systematic literature review.

[00:18:56]Loneliness appears to have both direct and indirect negative effects on cardiovascular health. It is associated with inflammation, which in turn affects the cardiovascular system.

[00:19:10]In addition, the associated negative feelings can have a negative impact on health as they can lead to increased inflammation and negative lifestyle habits such as alcohol consumption and nicotine use, which in turn increase inflammation. Research confirms men drink more alcohol and engage in binge in binge drinking at higher levels at higher rates than women. Studies consistently show that single, divorced, or never married men have the highest consumption levels and face the greatest risk for long-term alcohol misuse compared to their married peers.

[00:20:58]Depression is underdiagnosed and underreported. Men's depression rates are underdiagnosed and underreported, which means that this idea that women have higher depression rates than men is a lot of horse okay?

[00:23:19]But nonetheless, men obviously also wanted the marriage to continue.

[00:23:29]Uh I'm not making a pro-marriage argument here, by the way. Right? I'm against marriage. I just report on the subjective desires of men and the demand and and the demand imbalance between men and women, that men love and want women more than the other way around.

Our results suggest that single women on average report higher levels of satisfaction with relationship status, life satisfaction, sexual satisfaction, and lower desire for a partner.

[00:27:07]The same is not true for men. Men have Men are struggling to get women.

[00:27:17]This is why they cannot afford to have very high standards.

[00:30:06]And it basically showed that men had a higher willingness to pay for dates than women. Furthermore, in the opposite sex partner condition relative to the same sex partner condition willingness to pay increased among men, but decreased among women.

[00:30:25]And it's not just paying for dates, but men are also more willing to do more riskier jobs, especially when women are around.

[00:34:21]Again, it's very important to debunk these MGTOW copes about single men about single men being more happy than single woman because it mischaracterizes the general condition that men are in.
