Research using EEG measurements with the Muse headband reveals that mind sight (perceiving colors or shapes while blindfolded) produces distinct brain wave patterns across different frequency bands (theta, alpha, beta, gamma), with three main patterns emerging: the alpha group (75% of subjects) showing slight alpha wave increases, the theta group lowering alpha rates, and the beta group showing extreme calm states; the theta frequency appears universal across all participants and serves as the intuitive carrier for mind sight, while mind sight deepens with practice over time.

649 Research Presented - Brain Waves Present When Mindsight Operates - MUSE Headband - Robert RoosAñadido:
I have met many people. I heard many stories and the people were opening up their mind side. It's very exciting.
At first I just came here just to learn, you know, how to develop mind side. But back home I have a lab and I'm studying also with the mind side phenomena with EEG and all sorts of smart technologies.
So I decided to gather some data this week. So I was already here and lots of people at the same place. So there's a window of opportunity. Not a mind side window but just an opportunity. So I created a PowerPoint presentation for you all to show what my first findings are. And of course it's just a small study with 17 people until now. But today I measured more people. Maybe if people are willing to stay I can read out more and you you'll get also a feedback on your personal profile. But let's head over to the presentation. So yeah, if people can perceive colors or shapes while fully being blindfolded, does anything in their EEG look different? Now look at the signal. Is it the same and what does it look like? So there are several dimensions that we look at the EEG data.
And yeah, surprisingly there is a pattern.
We use the the Muse headband. I don't know if somebody is familiar with this system. It's a consumer grade headband.
It's not something special but it gives a lot imagery of your how your brain works. This is a little bit technical so I won't explain any further. But there are several sensors on the front of your head and behind the ears and that can create a good sample of your brain waves.
Just in short. So this also doesn't need that much explanation. I think the most of us are aware of these these bands and this is all these these bands are also investigating investigated during this research and we measure in each band what the peaks are and from there we try to determine what patterns arise.
So and this is very interesting because I'll I'll explain later on there there are patterns emerging from the test group.
How how did we measure? Yeah, some of the of you already did it but at first we did a small relaxation exercise to get your get a kind of a base level relaxation. Then we measure the EEG with eyes open, then with eyes closed and then mind sight is final step and and we hope to capture uh uh differences in the in final step and yeah, that that was also the case. So let's go further.
Okay, yeah, we also had some struggles by the way with the with the mask. So I tested with the mask and with eye patches and the mask did did create some disturbances. So we had to shift to eye patches and you still see the same pattern. So the gray line is in rest and the red and green are with mind sight.
So you can clearly see a shift in all frequencies when you're in the mind sight state. So this is direct evidence that it's it's related to EEG.
Now there were several subjects and we have chosen I made them anonymous. So some people didn't want to mention their names. So for the sake of privacy but we picked of course people who had full color visuals, someone who claimed that he has a x-ray he can see through walls, also someone with intuitive mind sight.
Basically those are that was the mixture that we tested.
And now we see three groups emerging and that's the the most interesting part.
So, there are basically three patterns, and the first one, that's the alpha group, that's the biggest group. So, it is I think 3/4 of the people who are who are here follow this pattern. And then we have some specials. So, those are people who have found their own strategy, and I do notice that they are also further developed. They are more in a meditative state. Um but they also achieve mind sight in the same manner.
So, that's that's very interesting.
And here you can also see how it's a little bit spread out over the frequency bands. So, below on the left you see theta, alpha, beta, and gamma. And most subjects you see a surge on all bands. So, that's also the trend, you know, all all frequencies and all bands go up. Uh but in certain bands it's it's more than the other.
And um yeah, and we we also see that mind sight deepens with practice. So, we I accidentally discovered that uh while I was recording subsequent measurements of mind sight with single subjects. So, we tested it over and over again, and I saw an increase in in the mind sight state. So, it got stronger, and it was over the course of just a few minutes.
Um and that's that's also an interesting thing. So, so exercise is probably an important thing. So, I myself also tested my I did a longer session with myself in the morning or early in the morning, 4:00, to see okay, what happens if you if you run this longer. You can clearly see that after a few minutes you get stronger and stronger. So, while being in that state, you know, it it grows. So, I don't know how far that goes. Probably it's, you know, it gets even at a certain level, but it proves that yeah, it can develop over the course of time.
And yeah, who is similar to whom? Yeah, you see lots of green green spots. So, this means that we all pretty much correlated to each other. So, we all follow the same patterns.
So, there there are lots of common yeah, common values that I measured.
There are some people who are off the scale. So, you see the the orange the subject F is is is one exception. And this with most people follow the same strategy in in getting into the state.
And this is also the what I explained the distribution across the group. So, the alpha group it's yeah, it's now 75.
I think it's a little more towards 70. But that's the biggest group. And then we have the theta group and the beta group. So, and with the I will also explain I think after this presentation or maybe over here. So, what happens is that one group the alpha group is as a slight increase in the alpha wave.
So, it goes from 8 to 13 hertz. And the theta group lowers its alpha rate. So, it goes from 8 to 7, 6, 5 sometimes. So, that's a different strategy to achieve mind state. And then [clears throat] you yeah, you also have the beta group, but that's an exception.
Basically, one person out of seven who had that and it was an extreme calm state.
Alpha went down, but all other the didn't shift that much. So, it's that's I think there are people who have their own ways.
Um so, what we found is that the theta search is is universal, so all all people that I tested they have a search in theta. And probably what I suggest is that's the intuitive part of mind side.
So, it's basically a carrier to get into the mind side, so and it starts off at at the beginning of each session. And then gradually you see that beta and gamma also rising very quickly. For most people it's beta and gamma that that rise a lot, but the theta is the core of everything. So, probably that's the intuitive part.
Um yeah, and everybody has its own route, so they they have their own strategies to get into the right state.
Um so, yeah, brain pattern matches strategy and not the outcome, so it's it's just how the way how you do it and that's also what I see, you know, everybody does it in its own way. That's correct, but on the on the on the water, you know, the values are pretty evident and that these these frequencies play a role in the mind side, so. Um yeah, and then finally, you know, the the the mind side builds up over time, so it's exercising will increase. Probably we need to study that a little bit more, but yeah, you're also proof of that because many people came back another second time and made some progress, so that's very interesting.
Um Yeah, okay, maybe also one thing that before I close close down, I also noticed that there is a big group, you know, there's the alphas and there's also people who linger between two different groups, so they have skills in both areas and they can switch back and forth. That's also very interesting to see.
Yeah, and then yeah, We're we're going to sample more data and we'll see, you know, what more emerges from this. So, today I'm going to I will also read out uh John, and Tracy, and Kelly. So, I'm also curious what that brings us.
And then hopefully we can find some interesting patterns, and uh the goal is eventually to also create audio materials from it, binaural beats, to stimulate uh the mind-sight experience.
So, maybe that will act as a catalyzer or something, how do you call for the mind-sight? So, >> Can you share this with us?
>> Yeah, I I can share it. Yeah, yeah, sure, SURE.
>> [applause] >> DO YOU HAVE LIKE UH UH WELL, IF WE Rob's going to have a lot of seminars, a lot of people will will start showing up.
>> Yeah.
>> Will you have any way to kind of like consistently getting more samples from everyone who >> Maybe he can come to our seminars.
>> [laughter] >> I feel like what you're doing for the research >> Yeah.
>> literally light up >> Yeah.
>> something new.
>> Yeah, yeah, yeah, definitely.
>> everyone but it benefits everyone so much because now we're kind of like seeing what have they been doing for the past week, and how it affects our brain waves.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah, that would help so much.
>> Yeah, yeah, there's evidence, you know, it it it has an influence, and I also did some small test with someone this morning, and also tried to see if binaural beats could influence the state, and the careful conclusion, it does. So, there is an increase in perception, and >> Is there a site that everyone can just follow your work and see >> No, no, it's it's a little bit closed project, so it's I'm running two businesses, and this is just a private project, but I'm happy to share more information later, you know, as as this develops. So, >> [applause] >> Okay.
Thank you so much, Robert. We really appreciate this.
