Crystal Palace 2-2 Everton | The Final Word

[00:00:02]Welcome to Toffee TV. It is the final word. Crystal Palace 2, Everton 2 at Cers Park yesterday. And another feeling of what might have been really. Is it Is it two points drop?

[00:00:18]It's massively two points drop. I will not have anybody else tell me anything else. Is it two points? We went one nil up and just went, "Lads, what are you gonna do now? We're one nil up."

[00:00:33]It's to me, honestly, this is the most frustrating game of the season for me.

[00:00:38]>> I genuinely believe Palace couldn't have cared less and we made them care because we were just like, "Go ahead, have a go." Like honestly, I just I I just don't understand what more this set of players wanted because it was there for them. They went one n up and it was literally just a case of just keep going, just keep pushing, keep having a little bit of ambition, a bit of bravery, and you'll get your rewards.

[00:01:07]And we didn't. We just stopped playing once we scored. And and again the last sort of like 15 minutes we've done exactly the same thing. And like I said yesterday and whether people like it or not, this is the time of year where you have to back up sort of your season's work >> and we've shown in the last few weeks that >> we are we we're just simply not good enough for where we want to go. And that's listen that's fine. That's fine.

[00:01:37]David Moyes isn't a medical worker or you know he played his own hand in it.

[00:01:44]Um and I think actually something their manager said it was quite telling about who looked fresher late on. Um and that that's fine. That's not that's not a go at anyone. That's just being honest and saying, >> "Yeah, we're just we are we are where we are and if we want to get to the places we want to get to, we're going to have to buy plays." And that that that's that's absolutely fine.

[00:02:09]>> Mhm. Um the team was the same as the week before which is pretty much expected really. I don't think he was he was ever going to make changes from the City game. I know Tobar scoring two goals might have come into his thinking but he made me better which was fine. I thought Everton Everton started the game brilliantly. Really did. I mean, you know, we got on the front foot immediately >> and their fans were quiet.

[00:02:41]>> Adam immediately closing them down.

[00:02:45]Got ourselves a goal.

[00:02:46]>> Yeah.

[00:02:47]>> Off a corner again, which is mad.

[00:02:50]>> Two on the run, you know, ball into the back post and you know, as it's dropping and you're just looking, you're thinking just hit the targets, which he did, finished it well. There was a feeling certainly in the ground there. we just go on and and take them to clean. They were really subdued, which you'd expect, listen, you'd expected. He just qualified for a European final. He was sort of, you know, Everton just looked two yards quicker than them everywhere all over the pitch. And that was the You're right. That was the moment to go like, let's just kill this off cuz, you know, they're not they're never going to give you the game. But if you go two up, >> it's harder for them to do them extra yards. It creeps into your brain. you start thinking, you know, it can save me energy or whatever. And we did have a couple of moments where we really should have done better. There's no question about it.

[00:03:40]>> But we just we didn't take care of the ball and the players who you'd expect more from.

[00:03:51]It just didn't really happen yesterday.

[00:03:53]But we did have a we did have a huge opportunity to go 2-0 up. Yeah. You know, Jordan Pigford makes a brilliant save and in real time that was live right at the shot. He hit it like a rocket. It was a great save and we broke straight from the save. Literally it ricocheted out and off we went. Lincoln didn't use us real strength and the lad goes down and we're away and we've got some of the stills here from the attack um which James is going to put up for us now. And as you can see so Everton is springing it and J's on the ball. We got B all there. Betto is further over. We take it on and J just travels into their half of it and you know on that that image there it's sort of 2v2 isn't it sign to get backto on the shoulder we go on again now and J just got to roll it there Jbury has made this run lots of times this season just plays it ahead of him in he goes now when he ran on to it I'm thinking and obviously it's a split second thing I'm thinking that he's going to sort take it there and have the shot, open it up onto his left foot and have the shot, but actually get stuck under his foot.

[00:05:03]>> And he manages to do really well, which is come inside the defender.

[00:05:07]>> Yeah.

[00:05:07]>> And then they were the three options.

[00:05:09]And now >> where we were stood, it looked like he was just going to roll it under the keeper cuz you could see Henderson's legs wide open. I was thinking just hit the target. Yeah. But he had the two options to go either side of him as well.

[00:05:21]>> And he ends up sort of slipping, I think, with the shot. And as he slips, he's trying to put it past Henderson's left foot, trying to steer it into that far corner and he hits it against his foot. It comes out and Jay somehow manages to kick the ball onto his own hand >> instead of knocking it in and and they smuggle it clear. But it was that moment where you looked and thought and everyone is like people are in disbelief with their head in their hands thinking >> it was the perfect move and it's him, the person you sort of won on the end of it to just roll it in for 2-0. Had that gone in, >> I think, but obviously I think it probably would have been a very different game. But that was a that was such a key moment, wasn't it?

[00:06:02]>> Yeah. Guilt edged. He's He's not particularly good >> at one-on- ones, is he? When when I think when he's got time to think about it, I think he's a lot more of an instinctive finisher.

[00:06:12]>> Yeah. Yeah.

[00:06:12]>> I think when he I think he's proven in the last few weeks when it when when it's there for him, when he has got a chance to just slip it past the goalkeeper, we saw it at Brenford.

[00:06:20]>> Yeah.

[00:06:20]>> We we've seen it in recent weeks. Um we saw one ear on the season, didn't we?

[00:06:26]Where at the uh was it a Fulham when he had an opportunity to to or Brighton, sorry, before he scored the goal.

[00:06:33]>> Um >> but when they just dropped him and that there to hit, he tends to find the back of the net.

[00:06:38]>> Um something that he's got to work on.

[00:06:40]There was another one in the second half, wasn't it? Where he tried to do the same thing that he did at Brenford where trying to go around the goalkeeper and he hasn't got the pace to beat the defender. Does exactly the same thing and then tries to come back. Yeah, >> he's got to get working it. Just I don't know just I mean not he's not he's not Harland or anyone. I'm not saying that but just a way of just steering it past the goalkeeper >> cuz his runs are so good.

[00:07:01]>> Yeah. And he's going to find himself in those in those positions so often that he has to perfect >> that ability to just >> be calm and slip it under the goalkeeper. And I thought that was a really really poor >> really poor moment. And and yeah and and >> at that stage it we Palace had come back into the game. So, it wasn't like we were it wasn't like we were peppering them with with chances. It was like a it was like a chance out of nothing as you said Pford had saved at the other end, >> but it really would have really would have put the game to bed, I think, and just give us that little bit of breathing space that we needed and >> he doesn't score and and then get we just start giving up so much space again. the midfield was so porous. It reminded me of West Ham a few weeks ago and where it I I can't quite put my finger on it.

[00:07:50]Maybe it's because the two midfielders are just all over the place and no one's sitting and protecting. I think that's maybe a big issue and and maybe that's what, you know, we do need to look at having a number six or some like Ghana just sitting and controlling cuz it there we just seem to be so poorous. It was. And obviously the other thing as well is James Garner got booked for for the first sack he did really, didn't he?

[00:08:14]And um I didn't think it was a book, but I hadn't seen it again.

[00:08:17]>> It was it was it was a it was um they mounted up, hadn't he? But again, I think that come from >> him putting out fires that other people weren't dealing with. He's he's he's everywhere. And again, it wasn't a particularly bad foul. It was just they just they were saying it was consistent constant foul. And again, I didn't think it was. But I think like just on to use pretty all he's he's obviously been an absolutely fantastic sign. He's got eight goals. We haven't had a center midfield player scoring eight goals for years. So he's done brilliantly, but he could have had 10 12 the chances and he has got to work on that a little. It's always hard to recreate um you know that moment in a game I imagine you're running through in the Premier League.

[00:08:57]But he's took some some of his goals have been fantastic. So just extra work, extra work, make it, you know, at least make the goalie have to save. And he in that one on top of he did save it, but you're just expecting him to just roll it in because he's so good. They we then go and give away a really bad goal as far as I'm concerned.

[00:09:16]>> It's a we don't get out and close the pressure down. It comes wide. It's back in and I think it's Su. It's the first one, isn't it? and he doesn't connect and it's rolling to Pikford and Michael Keane sticks a foot off and sort of doesn't get any clearance on it and it just rolls back and he hits it with his left button. He hits it like a rocket picked to get the hands where it was not he could do it in the net. It's 1-1 and you're thinking oh where's that sort of come from cuz we because what happened was the opening of 15 minutes they couldn't get out their own box. Even when we went one n up, we were we had all the ball. We just kept like breaking on them and you were thinking we're getting we are definitely getting a second here in this first. Then they sort of come into it a little bit >> without having loads to do but they had the save and pick when they had the header that Richards I think it was that got blocked. I think it might have been James Garner got in the way and blocked.

[00:10:07]They went over for the corner but the goal sort of come out of nothing.

[00:10:12]>> Yeah. But then Everton sort of reasserted their composure and and it was and I' I'd say Eden had control of the game in that first half without really creating too many chances. They didn't really have too many chances. Did a couple of shots from far out and it sort of went in at half time thinking it was okay. We played all right but we really you know we've missed opportunities. Two or three good opportun we had the one where the ball was it a corner again? I think it was a corner. It was a back postman and it got at the back and it went across the six yard and we're all there going just someone knock it in.

[00:10:48]>> And we had the other one where James Garner played it with the outside of his foot and he ran down the left and played it and me and Ro couldn't quite get in.

[00:10:56]There was no he was coming and no sense of >> and Michenko put a cross and a Betto come flying in and if if it would have been roll or someone coming in behind he'd have been he'd have been there but >> we also had Tim Boon trying to corner flag. Well, Tick Mitchell tried his his best to do just as bad as it in the second half with his right but didn't but Tim done brilliant. He broke into the box and you think he'll just guide this and he and I don't know what he tried. He went out for it. It was nearly as bad and not as bad as Betto's one in the derby. But at Halime you're thinking all right we we should have been ahead.

[00:11:31]We've had chances more than clearcut ones more than they had. Can we come out and do it? You know it's there for us.

[00:11:37]We know now 45 minutes we'll get chances. He knew we would can we take them and you know within a couple of minutes we're back in front. I actually I actually thought it was later.

[00:11:47]>> No >> it might it might I said the first five minutes and then but it was I couldn't believe it was only 2 minutes and I hadn't seen the timing obviously but >> it was the goal that sort of Betto we see I mean he done brilliantly talk but it was the kind of ball that we've seen him do really well in his ed career.

[00:12:03]Yeah. And it's James Tarovski with a ball sort of round the corner for Betto.

[00:12:07]We've got the stills. Betto runs and lacroy actually I think is I think people were all focused on gay. I think if I'm another Premier League club I go and get in. If I was Evan try and get him but anyway it's a different story.

[00:12:19]Betto does really well. Runs away from him motors into the box and I'm thinking here just get it out your feet. Get out your foot and just get a shot away at Henderson into that zone where you've got the arrow. But what he does really well is he goes to and turns back inside and then I'm thinking he's just going to open and obviously there's a split second and when you see a striker turning you think he's just guiding it into that far corner where we've got the arrow but he does something very unmet like and then skips back as if he's R9 on the outside >> or Kaku actually. Yeah. and uh opens it up and steers it under Henderson brilliantly to put us back in front obviously cue the scenes of Bedum in the way ending and you two one up and it's like right gone and done it again now you you've got the bit between your teeth you're back in front take the game away from them >> yeah I mean you come out and obviously Moyes will have said to them and it's a brilliant start to the first half and all of the issues in the sec in the first half you you sort you put them to bed >> and here's your opportunity, your second opportunity to to deal with >> it. And I thought and what I thought was, you know, I remember when we went to Palace a couple of years ago or was it sorry, last year, wasn't it?

[00:13:34]And we done the same thing. We went 1 n up and then we went 1-1 and then we better scores the goal and it's just about controlling the game then and I thought for the most part in the second half we did we learned the lessons of the first half which was don't sit back and be a little bit better on the ball for the most part >> but I thought I thought we only did it up to a point we did it >> we did it till they made changes and then we don't make the changes when they they bring Mateta on on and and for the most part it was like we controlled the game without creating too many chances, >> but it was more about just sort of putting a lid on the game. But unless you get a third in the in any Premier League game, unless you get a couple of goals ahead, >> not always.

[00:14:25]>> It's never going to be dead, is it? It's never going to be over. Especially when a team are they make they make the kind of change they make they're not forced into making change but they're always going to make those changes and this is what what I was referring to before when I'm talking about being fresher maybe they're that playing in that European competition I know people will go well they've played a lot more games but it's meant they've had to rotate more of their players in and out of the side and I think that's what's caught us up in the end that's what's catching us up in the last month of the is the lack of rotation has caught us up in the end and yes you can say well Timoon's coming to the side and M and Ro but watching like certainly M roll play you think to yourself why hasn't he played more games Timoon's unlucky in many ways because he isn't he isn't a disag >> his uh possession stats are like 15% lower than a dissa and that's obviously huge in the Premier League. Like don't get me wrong, he's brilliant at winning the ball back, but when he get the ball, he tends to give it away. There was one yesterday and it so it come and it come on his chest >> brings it down and he just gives it straight back to him and it's like it's those little moments and >> I think he's done brilliantly. We talked about him last week how many games he's played.

[00:15:46]>> But that drop off in keeping the ball is massive in the Premier League, isn't he?

[00:15:50]you know, going from like say 94 95 to 78 79%. That's so big in a Premier League game when you're playing center midfield, >> especially in a game and you're trying to sort of take this thing out of it.

[00:16:02]You work so hard to get it back >> and that that's that's something Tim again but some fine margins and some how Tim has got to improve. But would he have improved if he'd I'm not saying he should have played more games. I'm just But we know we all know we're not stupid. We've watched enough football this season.

[00:16:20]they've benefited because and this is what what annoys me about not getting about European football is the what the benefit it would have made to those players that we've already got and those players that we'd like to attract and finding out in a different competition especially if it was the conference where you've got a little bit more leeway you're playing poorer sides.

[00:16:43]>> Yeah, I think that would and I think that's really benefited Palace this year. Yeah, you can we can all look at their league position, but their league position ain't going to matter much between us and them if they win a cup.

[00:16:52]You know, they'll have had a better season and that they've played a load of their players um more often and it, you know, it would have been so would have been so much more beneficial, but I think it's caught up with a lot of our players and I think you only have to look at the center backs later on in this game to see how much it's caught caught them up. Um and it's caught them in the last few weeks.

[00:17:11]>> They played 56 games in this season. We played 39. Yeah.

[00:17:15]>> So, 17 more games, but there is players who have obviously benefited from an overall fitness level where some of ours have been off it. I think it would have it's a pity that Edton didn't have Adisha on the bench because I think with about 20 minutes to go he'd have been per as against Man City the other night if he'd have been on the bench he'd have been perfect to come on and mop up those bits in the park and the interceptions nicking the ball the amount of times he just nicks it off you and he you break from it and I think that's where you could see obviously James Garner got booked which meant he couldn't really put a tackle in again. Um I know he did one in the box, but he got it near the Boon and done a brilliant one in the box as well, didn't he? And Kamada dived later on, but we did sort of lose it a little bit, but you know, 2-1 up looking I I did think didn't look dangerous every time he broke, but again, it's the decision making, isn't it?

[00:18:17]>> Rolled done one where he went down, he done fantastically well. Got in round the back and trying to pull it back. No one. sort of goes and pulls off them.

[00:18:24]So, he's got to pass or we don't get bodies in the box. And it's those it means that the players have got to come up with something. You know, we had two or three where it was bobbling in and around. And then we had the one with I don't know whether it was 21 or 22. But obviously Betto's knackered. He was looking tired. A manager took him off and Barry come on. Barry was all he was okay. He ran around at least. Um but we had one where I think it might have been 22 when that happened. The ball come forward and it it hit the defender and looped and bounced through and but he all ran on.

[00:19:00]>> And he ran on and the line that cheap that Shan thing he put a flag up but it played on and he hit the post. Hit the post.

[00:19:06]>> And if he puts that in it's got to go to V.

So he's running. He's the run's fantastic and he's got away and he's in just it.

[00:19:39]If he hits it early and Henderson it, pushes it around the post, whatever. You go. Okay. But he done the thing he done at Brenford. Just stop. Try to do it like a spin round >> and it's all gone. The chance it's split second. Just have a go.

But obviously they brought Metal on and he started knocking Keen about a little bit and they had a couple of chances didn't he had S I think had is it 22 S they had or 2-1 but he had a sitter in closely I think it was 2-1 where there was a ball they done it three times a ball over the top Micheleno caught out they just had it square and he come in and he should have scored and then they get the goal and the frustration for me with the goal is a roll doesn't do well enough.

[00:20:28]>> To stop the cross, but you can see we've got it. You know, Tikki Mitchell is in towards the the penalty area here. Ro trying to stay with him and you've got to get all, you know, bit tighter there to cut that out.

[00:20:43]We've got Michael Keane circled in the middle cuz he's Mark Mateta. He's his man. Tarovski's got uh I don't know whether it's Le Jefferson Lurmer who makes the run to the near post does but he's he's got a man and there's another player I think it's S who's close to him as well he's almost got two cuz Jake O'Brien trying to cut the ball out but Michael Keane's got Meta he's got one job there which is just stay tight to Meta we take it on the ball's cut back I've still got a Keen can still see Mateta Maleno's marking at the back post that's fine Keane's got Mateta Tak's gone in with the defender You take it on again. Now look where Mateta has come off. Ke, >> you know what I mean?

[00:21:29]>> Yeah, >> but Michael Keane is it is man said this the other night with Harland. We can have a go with Taki for the other night for for going towards Jake O'Brien and Do I understand that >> but Michael's got to stay with Mateta.

[00:21:43]He's got this is what he done with Harland earlier in the season at the Etiad. He's marking him and he runs off him as if he's going towards the line.

[00:21:49]Mateta just stands there. It goes on and look he still hasn't closed it and Mateta just d it into the roof of the net, you know, and it's h it's 22 and you tack off. You had a go with him straight away because he's like that's your man and you're marking him and you just let him wander into space and put it into the net >> and it was you're looking at it there going that was so avoidable. If they bang one in the top corner from 30 yards, what can you do? Or they score a brilliantly worked goal. That was quite basic. You've got to mark up. I don't understand what way you're marking seems to be go to the goal line, allow players to to just shoot. I just I'll be honest with you. I wasn't happy with the starting 11. I I can't >> I just can't look at what happened on Monday night and say nothing should be changed. Michael Keane has had a good season for Michael Keane, >> but Jared Brantweight has proved the levels between the two players >> and Jake O'Brien is the third choice center back and the the fact that he still played right back in this game blows my mind. I just it's it's again we talk about Moyes and we talk about the things we like and we don't like. Jake O'Brien should still not be playing right right back for us.

[00:23:14]>> You know, we've got a player there in Merlin Ro who could have played right back in this game.

[00:23:19]>> Yeah, >> we could have been more adventurous. We could have started George from that's what I would have done. That's what I picked me starting 11.

[00:23:25]>> I'm not the manager of Everton football club. Fair enough. I don't have all that experience. But I just thought we had to be bold in this game. I thought we had to go out and show the opposition our intention from the start. Something that we didn't do at West Ham. And we did do that. But then we just dropped off because that's the that's the that's what this team does. That's what those players he picked do. You know, you've essentially got three center backs and a very very very very defensive left back.

[00:23:51]So everyone's nature is to drop off >> and that's what we did once we scored. I for me Jake would have played center back >> next to Taki. Saki likes having someone in there younger and I just don't know how you could continue to pick these two players next to each other. As I said, mail and roll proved the other night he could have played right back there without a shadow. I've said a million fullback is not an hard position to play in if you're an intelligent footballer.

[00:24:20]It really isn't if you've got the brains.

[00:24:23]>> And I would have I would have had Adam in there. Uh and I think Jake is a lot more alive to those situations. I just I find it >> I find I just >> it's it's not even about pace though, is it? It's about we could have gone up the pitch.

[00:24:38]>> What it's it's it's being a lot of situations. Michael Michael Keane's done a decent job this season, but the idea that he's still starting games for Evan in 2026 >> is when there's another center back available. I know the big question is we haven't got another right back, but that's on Moyes. Moyes continually has two two right backs sitting on the bench and never uses them. James Thomas never playing. Nathan Patterson never playing.

[00:25:02]So, Adam Masnu can go to the Eláico.

[00:25:05]Well done. Um, it blows my mind. This should have been sorted a lot earlier because what again the question mark is what if Michael Keane gets injured or what if Taki gets injured?

[00:25:16]>> Who's playing right back then? Cuz it it ain't going to be Nathan Patterson >> for Moyes has made his mind up. He should he should have been allowed to go in January as far as I'm concerned. And Sheamus has never gone to play. So I just find the whole situation and it it has to end this. you know, you know, it will Michael Keane's got another year.

[00:25:35]Fine. No issues with that. But for me, Everton have to go out this summer and buy a really, really good leftsided center back who can complement Tarki, Jake O'Brien, and and Brandweight >> and be be there because the drop off in quality when Brandweight's not playing it, it's it it's it's so noticeable. Well, we know we know that >> Brandwe and Sarovski is the number one partnership. It's proven it. Um, you know, Michael Key and James Sarovski have played 34 games, started 34 games together, excuse me. Um, Evan have lost 15 of those games and conceded 48 goals in the process. Uh, Ke Tarovski, this is since the start of last season. Tarovski and Branto have started 29 games together.

[00:26:32]Evan have lost eight >> which is half.

[00:26:35]>> Yeah.

[00:26:36]>> And conceded uh Evan have conceded nearly 20 goals less when them two the center backs >> and this is this is the problem.

[00:26:44]>> But the thing about it is right it's not a witch hunt. It's not scapegoating.

[00:26:50]It's just facts. Michael Keane both of them are in the 30s now. They've never had a lick of pace between them anyway.

[00:26:57]>> And they're obviously starting to feel it. I mean when Mateta went past Taki, you know, with three minutes to go yesterday and fair Taki did get a little touch on the ball. So fair play to him, but the ease of the of him going past them.

[00:27:11]>> It's been a long season for Taki and he he's he plays >> he's played almost all of the games by coming towards the end of last season.

[00:27:20]The lads run through brick walls for everything as he has done for every club. it it it's going to mount up in the end. And again, not having those opportunities or David Moyes choosing not to not to >> take players out of the team, it it's it's caught up with us. It's it's caught up with us in the most important month of the season. O'Brien and Tarovski had played four times together and haven't lost. I haven't won three and only drawn one of the four games. They have three clean sheets in that when you can see the one goal between them. So, you know, over game the partnership that have played more more games, you know, more than the odd game cuz Brandeight and Keane hadn't lost as a partnership either, but he only played once together, but Sarakovski and O'Brien have played a few games together, but and I thought Zarovski had a very good game yesterday, goal and assist and and defend. His numbers are incredible. Um, but you could even throw you could if people are a bit unsure and go well I actually think Keane's well but that's fine but then play O'Brien with Michael Keane then but this partnership cuz this is what we're talking about this partnership of these two isn't isn't playing very well. Everton before this international break sure we'd had something like four clean sheets in six games. We've come back.

[00:28:36]>> The minimum we've conceded in a game is two every single game. Three against City. You know, it's absolutely we haven't won any of them. We've led 11 goals in in five games and that at the worst time of the season. The partnership is quite literally an hourglass, isn't it? That it starts off really well, but the sands are literally running out in front of our eyes and like that's not it. There's no like you don't have to create any kind of like big, you know, >> no drama. It's no drama. It's fellas what it is >> who are who have played a hell of a lot of football during their career. And as I said, there's no there's no both of them are very similar. But this partnership's never worked. It's never worked at any club that they were at.

[00:29:18]>> I think in Everton, that's only since the start of last season. I think these two has a partnership of let in on average. I think it's two goals per game whenever they played. It'sund someone gives it the other day, didn't it? It was 50 odd games maybe or something. Maybe not that many, but it's it's a it's two goals a game anyway when they're the partnership. So it's like Brantway.

But that but again, it's that idea of like we've actually conceded goals by being defensive.

We get it back to 1-1 and then we go okay 1-1 that's fine. They go and get the goal cuz they need they need Liverpool getting that last minute cuz they need was there. Where's where's been I need? I need as much as important as all these other teams. West Ham went and won the game cuz they knew nothing else mattered on that day. Liverpool knew that nothing else mattered on that day so they went for it. Where's they showed that ambition.

[00:38:57]Palace didn't even have a need, but they showed the ambition because they're like, "Well, we're fine." And and that's what annoys me more than anything. And that's something that does that come from the manager, it comes from the players. Well, of course, it comes from the sets of players, but if we buy better players, is that that's the question people are wrestling with of now with with David Moyes. Like, you know, again, I I put a question out there yesterday, a poll of like, would you get a new manager? And I I've been given stick for just asking that question, but that's what people are asking. Iola is there. I'm not saying I should be our next manager, but it's tempting, isn't it? It's very very tempting. And that's what's sort of dividing the fan base.

[00:39:37]Now, I wouldn't jump into that decision, and I'm not certainly I I've always liked David much, but you can understand why people are asking that question. Not because we're we're going to finish, but what I've seen in the last few weeks, I'm like, what are you doing? I've seen so I've seen this a few times pop up. I want I don't know what your take is.

And that's my a bug bear is that when we needed to be brave, we haven't been brave and it's cost us goals. And that's that's the most annoying thing. If we drawn four games nil nil or five games nil nil, that would have gone. defense was all right. It's defense that's let us down and >> that's the thing that's we have been scoring goals.

But that's that's what I'm saying. Ju Hall and and um and Jai, these are the games that they've got to make a difference and they haven't. And I'm not talking about the whole scene.

When it comes down to this set of fixtures, you've got to get over the line and we we've not been >> The most annoying thing is it's not because it's happened this season.
