This immersive walk captures the tragic friction between urban gentrification and cultural resilience, serving as a raw archive of a community fighting for its spatial identity. It effectively documents the slow erasure of heritage by capital, even if it only scratches the surface of the underlying systemic crisis.

Exploring the Streets of Boston Chinatown | Spring 2026Añadido:
Hey everyone. Today we're going to be walking through Boston Chinatown.
It's a Wednesday afternoon, April 29th, 2026.
The time is 12:49 p.m. and the temperature is 54 fah, 12° C.
Boston Chinatown is actually pretty small and it feels like it is getting smaller.
Many businesses are closing up and facing pressure due to high rents and the cost of doing business.
Like I'm not sure what happened with this spot, the Moon Flower House.
But there's still a lot of character here and you can find some great restaurants still operating.
Ding-ho fast food has been here since 1980. You can still get a meal plate for $5.
And it's quite popular.
Heat.
Heat.
This is the exit.
We'll be passing by the main gate of Chinatown pretty shortly, just around this block. Heat.
Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Really love the architecture of this main gate.
It's always a big community of people here playing cards and ma jang.
There used to be a Chinese bakery here, but now it got turned into a bubble tea spot.
One more time.
Okay.
>> Are you um are you going that way?
>> This block actually has some really good restaurants.
I recommend Peach Farm seafood. They're really good. And >> they sell hiding it, too.
>> As well as Jade Garden down the block there.
That's Jade Garden.
My family has dined at Jade Garden several times already.
Each time has been excellent.
But he has like two Yeah.
5 minutes.
Maybe he's supposed to be I don't know.
Someone's selling fruit here, including durian, the world's smelliest is fruit.
This Vietnamese restaurant, I guess, is getting a makeover or maybe someone else is moving in now.
Watch the women.
I'm getting the accident.
That's a unique way to advertise.
Go around on a bike and pull a sign.
Have you guys seen something?
At the end of this block here is the Chinatown subway station.
Served by the orange line.
vehicles at our base.
I find that the Chinatown stop isn't totally within Chinatown.
You still have to walk a block or two to get there. Heat. Heat.
There used to be a lot more activity here, but many of the shops closed across the street.
Well, I think they sent the sheep from >> I love these lions and great public space here.
Get a snack.
>> Yeah.
Oh my god.
>> Yeah.
Yeah.
We'll walk back towards the Chinatown gate.
Boston South Station, which is a ma major train station, actually isn't too far from here, only about two blocks or so.
I track this over.
Well, everyone, we're going to be wrapping up this video here. Hope you enjoy this walk through Boston Chinatown.
