They feel ashamed or self-conscious about asking for help as though they should be able to fix this on their own and it maybe means they're unworthy if they can't fix it on their own and that's just not the case. Every single person I've ever worked with gets better. It doesn't take any kind of magic, it just takes knowledge. It takes some people who have some tools and some understanding. The most powerful thing to do is to at least have enough hope to ask for help. Admit to yourself there might be somebody out there who knows how to help you. You should exhaust that because as long as there's breath in your lungs and blood in your veins, you've got a chance. Things can get a lot better a lot faster than you think.
