[00:00:00]A senior Pentagon official said that the cost of the Iran war so far for the US is 25 billion dollars. That is the first official estimate of the military tax for the US in its war with Iran.

[00:00:22]Oil prices rose more than 6% on Wednesday to over 180 dollars per barrel.

[00:00:27]And that is the highest in nearly a month.

[00:00:31]US gasoline prices have jumped to the highest in over 4 years to nearly 4.25 dollars per gallon from about 2 dollars per gallon before the start of the war.

[00:00:47]That is over and above the long list of other high consumer prices.

[00:00:52]As a result, President Trump's Republicans face an uphill task to keep their house majority at November elections.

[00:01:46]In a fiery exchange with lawmakers, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth justified the cost saying the war ensured that Iran will not have a nuclear weapon. He questioned, and I quote, "What would you pay to ensure Iran does not get a nuclear bomb? What would you pay?"

[00:02:13]Hegseth fired back at Garamendi and said that you call it a quagmire, handing propaganda to our enemies.

[00:02:25]The Defense Secretary also slammed Democrats calling their statements reckless, feckless, and defeatist.
