Karmelo Trial Controversy Grows

[00:00:00]Either way, we got to hear from one more person. Shout out to Sean Kent. He actually did an interview with my guy Antoine Daniels. If y'all haven't checked that out, make sure you go watch it over on his channel. It was over on the Million Dollar Morning Show, I believe. And then Officer Tatum actually did a interview with Sean Kent as well.

[00:00:16]Now, who is Sean Kent? He was actually the attorney that represented Rick Chow in the last case that we referenced. Why am I bringing this up? Why are we talking about Rick Chow in a Carmelo Anthony video? Well, because Sean Kent, who is an excellent attorney, actually had something to say about Carmelo Anthony and the potential mistake of why he did not take the stand. I talked about this. I mentioned it to you guys from a juror's perspective of why I thought it was a mistake for him and why he didn't do that. Now, we're going to hear it from the attorney. Check this out.

[00:00:51]>> where I come from, and I've tried a bunch of cases. He is a young kid who's supposedly very smart, very articulate, good-looking kid, small in stature. My two issues with watching that trial, again, he killed a man.

[00:01:04]This is not a whodunit. He did it. He took a human life. This is Texas. And you know, they will forgive a lot of stuff in Texas for killing another human. But you need to look him in the eye and explain why did you feel you had to do it?

[00:01:17]>> Why do you have a knife? You know, answer the question no one wants to think about. Bro, why you got a knife in your bag?

[00:01:22]>> Right.

[00:01:23]>> I've never heard an answer to that question. Like, I'm like, bro, why why why you got a knife? Get on the stand and tell people, "Look, I've been bullied. I've been threatened. I am scared."

[00:01:32]Something to help humanize yourself. And I don't understand Um, and I did a post about it earlier, Brandon. I guess sometimes, you know, the reason we don't put people on the stand, people ask me, like, "Why don't you put your client on the stand?"

[00:01:43]>> One, if I can get their story out without them subject to cross-examination, I'm going to get him. Rick Chow is a perfect example. Remember I told you that statement? We got Rick Chow's statement out and he didn't have to testify. I know Rick has very broken English. Um, and so I'm like, Rick, you and he was a he was offended. He's just like, I want to testify. I'm like, you would be a witness. Why? Because you have trouble with the letter R.

[00:02:10]>> It was his son.

[00:02:11]>> He he It was It wasn't good. Because his English wasn't as good, he seemed to be hesitant on the responses in which made his credibility look bad. Even though it probably would He wasn't hesitant. It's just that he probably trying to think through the English way to articulate this. And it did not look good for him.

[00:02:27]And I was like, god damn. I mean, if his story wasn't the story, it's would look bad for him.

[00:02:32]>> Yep. Absolutely. And I 1,000% agree. And I've been saying it this entire time. It would have been tough. I think the reason Carmelo Anthony didn't get up there and testify was because he would have gotten absolutely obliterated by that prosecution team, who from what we heard was pretty straightforward with how they wanted to prosecute this case.
