While many investors already have exposure to AI through big tech companies, diversification opportunities exist in the enablers of AI, particularly in power generation, transmission, and materials, as power supply is the key bottleneck limiting AI development rather than semiconductor chips. Thematic investing focuses on long-term structural drivers like AI and energy transition rather than short-term market moves, and during volatile markets, these themes remain relevant and can create attractive entry points. Energy security today means access to reliable, affordable energy, and renewables are particularly well-positioned as they are domestically produced, increasingly economical, and less exposed to geopolitical risk.

>> Most portfolios have already a lot of AI exposure. In which equities do you see diversification opportunities?
>> A lot of investors already have exposure to big to AI through big tech, but what's often missing is exposures to enablers of AI. We see potential opportunities in areas like power, the power supply chain, and materials.
The key bottleneck to the AI buildout is not actually chips, it's power. So, we see great opportunity in companies that are generating and transmitting that power.
>> What is thematic investing and how should investors approach thematic teams when markets are volatile?
>> Thematic investing is about investing in long-term structural drivers, like AI, the energy transition, or digitalization, rather than in short-term market moves. When markets are volatile, these themes don't disappear. If anything, volatility can create more attractive entry points. The key is to stay invested throughout the cycle and to focus on real demand and real investment. That's how we think about building exposure to thematics over time.
>> Energy and geopolitics are back in the headlines. What does energy security really mean today?
>> Energy security today is about having access to reliable, affordable energy.
What recent and ongoing geopolitical tensions have shown is that relying too heavily on any single source of power, particularly imported fuels, can create vulnerabilities. Increasingly, governments are therefore taking an all of the above approach to their power supply to meet demand. Within that, we see renewables is particularly well well placed. They're domestically produced, increasingly economical, and less exposed to geopolitical risk, which is accelerating investment and capacity buildout.
