This Mod Almost Ruined The Supra

[00:00:02]We ruined the Supra and today we're going to fix it. Welcome to the video and uh let's go.

[00:00:18]The end of the Airlift is okay, but the Supra has an issue with the steering rod and the coupling rod.

[00:00:24]>> Yeah. Because if you use shorter coupling rods than the original ones, exactly this happens. And maybe you can show the camera here. So it hits here when you lay down and it creps here when you put it here. So the whole steering rod moved like this. The issue is with a shorter coupling rod, the space here gets more squished and limited. And this is exactly why it happened. This also happened at the KW coilover set we seen, right? Um the same happened with HR lowering springs and the HR stabilizers. Um we have So I'm going to blend in the pictures here, okay? Because um this is really not the fold of the airlift itself. It's more fold of the how do I say construction of the Supra.

[00:01:16]>> It's it's kind of the con construction from the from the whole axle here.

[00:01:20]>> Um Yeah. But this again shows why you need to know what you're doing.

[00:01:26]>> Yeah, that's that's true. So so so I mean this is very super specific. I bet for like 100 Supra owners at least five know.

[00:01:34]>> Right. So so um you really can't complain to anybody here. We're going to fix it now. We're going to open it up now. And um Yeah. And then we have to adjust the ele completely new.

[00:01:46]>> And then we need to test drive it. Then we need again the height to TUV again.

[00:01:51]>> Yeah. if we have the settings change in the PSI because the actual PSI settings are okay but I think it could be better from a driving >> a little bit too stiff in the rear.

[00:02:02]>> Yeah, maybe maybe we can just adjust the stiffness. We need to check um but this will be the whole meaning of the day.

[00:03:32]>> So this would be immediately go outside and then you just go left or right >> or somewhere. So, as I said in the beginning, we messed up. The Supra or the Supra got messed up. Um, but we have to say that this is actually a real weak point at Toyota Supras when you lower them.

[00:03:49]>> So, um, >> and especially we didn't do this.

[00:03:55]>> So, um, but again on on these, uh, >> heavily overengineered axles, >> stuff happens.

[00:05:57]>> But he he told me when we had these all in. So nobody nobody except for one person in Germany did know that. Okay.

[00:06:04]So it's like the issue with smaller plays and we even did shorten the space here. Right. It's like not that we give okay we're going to give some more space. It's like >> so from a mechanical side to be to be brutally honest with you if I install this and I look at this >> this space here >> it's not you immediately have to realize that that's a bad idea. Because even if you didn't lower your car with the the pressure inside, >> um that's from just traveling on the road.

[00:06:39]>> That's that's so tight here. I mean, everything moves.

[00:06:41]>> You hit a speed bump in Germany with like 250 km an hour. Everything goes up down.

[00:08:08]The purpose was that the LF goes high as possible so I can get out of my driveway. But this is like way too short. And this limits the space in between like 5 cm. And that's exactly what caused the issue. Right.

[00:14:48]Off the math. So, this whole journey for the elf was I think the most painful thing I've ever experienced as a car guy. Um, my channel description is is about the ups and downs, but there were so many downs here. And this wasn't even the fault of Pratzers or Stanic Works or Hollow 65 or myself. There were so many issues we were facing. um and so many problems we run into that it's really something we if I would have known I would have not gone for an air ride but on the other hand side now the car is here the car is running everything is fine everything is repaired um we found our setup by the way um even if I think the rear is still to stiff yeah I'm I'm I'm satisfied by now and meaning so is I'm a kind of guy you don't want to have me as a customer because I always I'm always like it has to be top-notch quality, right?

[00:15:57]That's that's that's that's for sure. But most car guys are like that. So So I don't think that's an excuse or that's an issue. It's it's just like we are okay. That's that's kind of our mentality. That's kind of our um how we approach things.

[00:16:14]The good thing is it's running. Um I'm happy with the steering um axis.

[00:16:20]Everything is really good. And also if I lower it and if I um put pressure in it and it goes up, I can get into my driveway. It's all fine and all perfect.

[00:16:30]So um yeah, overall it cost me some nerves and um it it drove me nuts. It really drove me nuts. Okay. Um but by now everything's fine. Everything's good and and big shout out to Pratz.
