Autism & ADHD: A New Diagnosis Petition

[00:00:00]There is no formal diagnostic category for the combined presentation of autism and ADHD. AuDHD exists in community language only, in lived experience, and increasingly in research, but not in the DSM and not in the ICD in any meaningful way. The diagnostic framework refused to acknowledge it. And now we're in the same kind of position in the next step.

[00:00:23]The evidence that combined presentation is neurologically distinct is peer-reviewed and replicable. The evidence that it generates a different clinical profile, different treatment responses, different accommodation needs is documented. And this is my formal petition to the DSM to recognize it as its own entity that has not yet as its own entity.
