The gaming industry is undergoing a significant transformation where traditional AAA game development business models are facing challenges, leading to a shift toward indie and double-A studios that better serve niche communities. This evolution is accompanied by a maturation of gaming discourse, where the era of negative review bombing and toxic criticism is gradually giving way to more constructive community engagement. Content creators who successfully navigate this landscape by diversifying their content and building genuine community connections are better positioned to thrive in this changing environment.

WE ARE A (BALD) CAR: Fun/10 Good Car VibesAdded:
You know, I could just set it up. But now, now I can't. It won't let me.
Okay.
Won't let me.
I'd have to make it float in the air behind me. And I actually just might do that. You know what I mean? Maybe maybe we need maybe we need to go back to taking a good solid hour of each stream to just [ __ ] around a little bit.
Just a little bit. Just like [ __ ] around, you know what I mean? Like just [ __ ] around, dude. Doing [ __ ] weird [ __ ] Doing [ __ ] [ __ ] around, bro. I don't know what any of this [ __ ] is.
Track me.
Been hanging on the wall. But I guess I could put it right I could put it right there.
Where you know I never thought about that before.
I'd loved when we moved in and that was the projection wall and I just had like a fireplace up there. Man, I should do that [ __ ] again. The problem is that the thing burned out.
The whole thing.
The whole thing burned out.
And I know you're like, "What thing? The the thing. It burned out."
I had a fun I had a fun day, Chad. I've had a fun day so far. I got to watch Cory on Drop Frames, which is great.
It's great. I got to watch chat's reaction to hearing more details about Magic Fine Studios and GCX, which is great.
It sends to everywhere but that website, man.
I don't know if that means end of an era or what, dude. I keep messing with it.
set up an alternate alternative recording [ __ ] as well. Man, what do you mean my maximum quality is 1080p?
Hang on a second, chat. I'm about to get into a fist fight.
What do you mean my maximum output is 1080p? It's supposed to be 1440p. I'm in the beta. I have it signed up.
It's 1440p on your end. Oh, okay. Cool.
Never mind then.
Never mind.
>> Shh. Never mind. Never mind. I know how to do this. This is my job. Quit telling me how to do my job. I'm I I will tell you how I do my job and I do it well.
Now, I did some I did some some market research and some financial modeling for for Magic Vine so we could calculate all sorts of important numbers around marketing spending and use cool acronyms like CAC and RPO.
These are real words, chat.
These are real. These are real words.
And then he said they were real words.
And that's when I knew it was [ __ ] You did your research on how to use Twitch? Oh, I'm going to [ __ ] You're lucky. You're lucky. You're lucky we're not in a [ __ ] bar right now because you know what I would [ __ ] do? You know what I would [ __ ] do with that smart mouth? You know what I would do with that smart [ __ ] mouth you got on you? I'd buy it a drink. I'd buy it a drink cuz that was [ __ ] good. That was good. You [ __ ] suplexed me. That was great. You took all my momentum and you threw it back with greater force. What's up, Arctic Hayes? How you doing? What's up, Mads Sapper?
Happy Sunday. Happy Sunday. Yeah, so I I worked on some financial modeling this morning. Worked on some marketing stuff.
We got the uh we got the um got the hunt folks going on GCX.
Um is this game worth the purchase? Sorry.
To go back to X-Men's question.
Yes. This is the greatest video game achievement of all time.
I'll tell you the greatest controller achievement of all time that I that I have played with is this goddamn Fly Digi Apex 3. This thing came with Wukong. It is the best controller I've ever used in my life. Sorry, Xbox.
I did like my Xbox Elite controller, but I gave it to my nephew as a gift. As a gift. Why? Because I'm [ __ ] nice, chat. I'm the nicest person you'll ever meet.
Does my energy feel different to you today, chat?
Is there just something about me that's different?
>> All right, we're going to try going live on Tik Tok.
>> If it [ __ ] the stream up, we're not doing it.
I don't know. My mom's pretty nice.
>> Gifting stick drift isn't nice. I would never do that.
I would never do that.
>> I would never. Hey y'all. This is Carla Rose. Look, I'm >> feeling lost with the Destiny news.
>> I feel that, dude. I understand.
>> York.
>> Why would it mess up the stream to go on Tik Tok 2 sometimes? Also, Tic Tac 2 sounds like tic-tac-toe, which is funny.
Also, it is one of the inside jokes, but for me and Amy, would you like to hear Amy and I's inside joke chat?
>> It's gonna be super niche.
>> Turn around when it is safe to do so.
>> Okay, so the joke is tic-tac-toe a winner.
>> And if any of you can tell me what that is a quote from and who that quote is from, I will gift you a sub. I I will I'll do I'll gift you a whole sub.
and I will deliver unto you >> a child this Christmas >> and the government will be upon his shoulders. I don't know. I don't know. I went religious. I don't know.
>> That's what I get for being a >> classically trained in religion.
Nancy Pelosi. Holy sh. Here comes your sub. You here. Wow. How the [ __ ] How the [ __ ] How?
Actually, how, dude? Actually [ __ ] how?
That is insane. No, you're you get the [ __ ] off of my home Wi-Fi network. First you suplex me and now you get on my home Wi-Fi network and and you're peeping on conversations with me and my wife.
How did you know?
No, it was when it was when it was when Nancy Pelosi was talking about the Tik Tok ban and she said tick tock tic-tac-toe a winner. Amy Amy [ __ ] the first time she heard that she just laughed like until she peed. Like she could not stop laughing about it. She thinks it's like the funniest, stupidest, cute, cute old woman thing she's ever seen. It was tremendous. Okay, so now I have to figure out how to gift you a sub while I have seven TV. How do I do this? Gift a sub. I'm clicking this button. Tier one.
Dude, I was so [ __ ] confident that nobody would guess this [ __ ] Escape will make me ball. Boom.
>> Professor Broman gifted a tier one sub to Zero Cold.
I did. I did. I gifted that sub. Dude, that was crazy. So, I guess that was a more prolific quote than I realized. I got to get better on my betting.
Yeah, you didn't have to. No, dude. I I was literally offering the gifted sub as bait for more chat interaction, okay?
Because I wanted to laugh at people's bad guesses. And you came out the gate with the right answer. That's worth six bucks, okay? That's worth six bucks all day long. I'll buy that [ __ ] Besides, it's six bucks, man. It's not even a pound of ground beef anymore.
How was the car customization in this >> potential?
>> Do you have the dog tags that you made out of subnames? Yeah, it's sitting right behind me on the desk.
>> It's your first Forza game and I'm addicted. It's so much fun.
>> Yeah, I've kept it. I've kept it with me. I've considered many times whether or not that jar has some sort of magical energy in it. That jar is representative of a time on Twitch that I was confident at one point I would surpass.
>> Thank you for the likes, man.
>> It is safe to do so.
>> Escape.
>> Yo, thanks for paying it forward. Zero >> zero cult gifted a tier one sub to Jimmy Gambles.
>> Jimmy Gamble? Is that Jimmy Jonathan Gambles? I haven't [ __ ] seen you since high school. How are things?
You're broke again. That's all right. No one expected much from you other than the gambling.
>> We're destroying the the tea crop here.
This that was really disrespectful. They haven't picked this tea yet. These are tea fields, right? If I'm recalling correctly, from all of my World Atlas books when I was a child, I was going to turn a dog tag shirt. The problem with that whole project was that it it was out of scope at the beginning and I didn't understand it. That was the [ __ ] issue because what it what what is in there and with the size of one dog tag and I ran the numbers like a 100 [ __ ] times. It's it essentially ends up being like god what is it? It's how many sheets of paper? It's it's like 12 square feet of dog tags.
I would need to buy I would need to go buy two, no, four full sheets of uh four full sheets of goddamn um plywood to mount all that [ __ ] I'm going to be honest, chat, if I'm mounting something, it should be a lot of fun for me. And that doesn't sound like a lot of fun.
giggity indeed.
>> Yeah. So, I am in I am in a really phenomenal mood today, chat. I I I came I came I I've I've I've been working on some things personally for since co and today today I for one reason or another we had the big breakthrough and I feel great. I feel like all my emotions are in the right place again.
>> You don't like mounting things. I only want to mount things that I'm having a good time while I'm on top.
>> You understand what I'm saying?
>> Safe to do so.
>> Sorry I put my little slow on the deck today. I went to a street race meet up last night. I did pretty well. Couple of places.
>> Yeah, it feels real good.
When you finally stop saying [ __ ] you to yourself and you start saying [ __ ] you to the people who deserve to hear [ __ ] you.
>> It's real good chat. It's It's real good.
>> Don't worry. I'm up. I'm up.
>> It's real good chat.
I'm mean to myself, but I'm still learning and growing. Yeah, you got to double check that [ __ ] with yourself, man. Like, you got to make sure you're not telling yourself that you suck when in reality, you're just deflecting emotions that towards you that you feel about other people who really deserve to be told to [ __ ] off.
Oh, that was a terrible that was a terrible danger sign.
Yeah, you got to think it through.
Surprised you're not watching F1. [ __ ] Is that race right now?
I'm so used to being at 3:00 a.m.
God damn it. I got to bring it up on a monitor.
Where are we at right now? Which where's which which track?
>> We're in Canada. Oh, [ __ ] I don't know. Okay, let me ask you this question. I didn't pay attention too much to the race last week. Um, so let me ask you, let me riddle me this. Batman Krillin. Yeah, dude.
>> Yes.
>> I am the world's greatest fighter.
Yeah.
Turn right.
Nothing beats being a bald batty. That's right.
>> That's right. Because I can eat it for a long time and get sweaty, but you don't have to worry about hair getting down there. You know what I'm saying? It's just whatever's present >> cuz the beard isn't going anywhere.
This game looks [ __ ] fun. It is. Even if you are not a racing game uh enthusiast, this game is is fun as hell.
>> And I I'll tell you what, I am I am a bald daddy. That is for sure.
>> I got I got an unsolicited compliment at the Quick Trip by my house, chat.
>> And let me tell you, I've been riding that high for about a week.
I held the door open for somebody >> and this woman goes, "Thank you." And then she stopped and went, "Ooh, you cute."
Or, "Ooh, you handsome." And I was like, >> "Me.
>> Okay, I'll take it."
>> 200 y. I was having a shitty ass day, dude. Man, I was like [ __ ] grumpy.
I was feeling grumped out.
Cara rolls on the block party. I'm not just a DJ. Remember, I'm a driver. I'm competing out there, which means I can spin this skill song.
>> Random stranger compliments. And you know it's even better when the person giving you the compliment is attractive themselves.
>> But I drop the wheel. Oh, I didn't. I still have it set up. I just like to use the controller for off-roading stuff.
Sounds like a Sounds like a black woman gave you that compliment. Yes.
Yes.
I don't know why automod held that.
girl.
>> Yeah, I do live in St. Louis, chat.
>> I live in St. Louis and Amy and I live uh in an area where we >> when I let's just say when I go to the gym, I'm the only uh I'm the only person that looks like me at the gym. Stop looking.
Yeah.
>> And I love my gym. It's the [ __ ] best gym on the planet. I've been to so many different gyms and I [ __ ] love my Planet Fitness by my house. God damn.
>> If you want to come work out with me, chat, it's the Planet Fitness in Florescent.
>> Or sorry, not Planet Fitness. What is it called? Elite Fitness. Club Fitness. The Club Fitness in Florescent. Chat, >> turn left.
>> Do I like the Saint Lunatics? Yeah, Nellie's all right.
Well, I take that back.
>> Nelly's back. Sorry. Nelly's has become a bit of a >> meme.
Yeah, I used to be able to just, you know, guiltlessly make Nelly jokes, but now I have to think about it.
This is another quarter mile.
Nice.
Did you see it?
I'm out of the loop. What did Nelly do?
Uh uh uh.
>> Yeah, you could just say Nelly sold out for the check.
>> Yeah. Yeah, that's probably that's probably the way to say it.
Okay, I've already done that day trip.
>> Yeah, we'll hop in the racing sim here in a little bit. I I like to split it up cuz my issue was that first day when this came out, I spent 6 hours in the sim and then uh my arms were cooked, dude. I I was walking around like a T-Rex.
Oh.
>> Oh, I've already done this danger sign.
That's what's going on.
I knew where you were going with that.
Yeah. Thank you. Thank you. Yeah, he he likes to check. I was going to say he he got he got a little chud on his shoes is what I was going to say.
>> Took you two days to set your wheel up.
>> It's rough, man.
I feel like the Jag really cooked, man.
>> I haven't modded the peel. Was it? No, it was the Porsche. I think the Porsche is the one that really cooked.
>> I got to set up my treadmill.
That's the other thing. I got to get my steps in today because I don't Tomorrow's Tomorrow's back day. Are you getting on back on D2 for your last goodbye? Yes.
Are you [ __ ] You idiot. Are you an idiot? Are you an idiot, dumb?
He could not handle the acceleration.
All right, we're going to run this back.
We got to run this back. It was ridiculous. Ugly ass car. Our ugly ass stupid [ __ ] car. It's trash.
>> No.
>> No. It's shitty. [ __ ] Shitty diarrhea car.
>> What's next?
>> What's next? What's next? Is me winning this race. [ __ ] idiot.
Well, did I get all the points though? I definitely didn't get all the points, though. Yeah, there's still 100 points left.
How cool is it that everybody got the day off tomorrow?
>> At least I hope so. It's a bank holiday here in the United States, so plenty of plenty of people got the day off. For me, I feel like having a day off during the week doesn't do much because it just means I got double work the next day.
That's your dream car. The other one I was driving.
Cool. We got it.
Spend it on a countryside.
Spend it on a countryside.
Uh let's see what do we got. We'll try some off-road. Okay. Romeo, I have set your route to the cross country race event in 100 y. Turn right.
>> Hey. Hey. Hands in the air.
Turn around when it is safe to do so.
>> Bro's room is bigger than my apartment.
Thank you. Thank you very much. I worked very hard to have this large room.
Thank you. Thank you. Biggest room.
Biggest stream room in the business.
>> Turn left.
>> Longest room in the big into business.
The room game. Long as [ __ ] >> It's also got a water slide in this [ __ ] It's very fun.
>> In 400 y, turn left.
>> What do you mean?
>> I don't know. Shroud's got a massive room. Yeah, but his room's probably above ground, which means if he got hit by a tornado, that [ __ ] would kill him.
But not me. I could stream right through a tornado as long as the internet stayed online.
Sha boing boing. Okay, >> thank you for the likes.
>> Jingle, it's LA. There are no tornadoes. Oh, look. We got a climate change denier in chat. Holy [ __ ] I'm [ __ ] around. I'm [ __ ] I'm [ __ ] around. I'm [ __ ] around.
There's no tornadoes there yet, dude.
Auto drive over there.
Thank you, Jingle. Thank you for the roses.
Thank you. Thank you.
Oh my god, dude. You're auto driving, throwing taxis off the [ __ ] off the road.
I had to do one of my least favorite things. Every Sunday I mow the lawn, chat. All right, we're going to turn it down for a second cuz we're going to have real talk. Okay, we're going to have real talk. That's a real talk moment. Everybody lean in. Okay, so real talk. Every Sunday I have to mow my [ __ ] lawn. Here's what I have learned about the the geography of where I live.
everyone else's lawns. Water drains into my [ __ ] backyard. So, every time I mow the [ __ ] yard, it is the wetest, soggiest, shittiest [ __ ] experience of my entire life. It doesn't matter if it hasn't rained in a week, my [ __ ] will be soaking wet.
cuz I keep it soaking wet. You understand what I'm saying? Um I remember when you played D1 back in the day. That's me. That's me.
Good job identifying me with my new disguise.
Why don't you have a robot mower? Um right now. Right now. Because I don't want one. I don't want one. And that poor robot back there, it would it would probably drive itself into the road so it could cease existing.
It would attain sentience simply to eliminate suffering from its own life.
Okay.
Having fun in the region? Seems like you've uncovered all the hidden gems here. You've arrived at your destination.
You got them all. Well done.
>> Also, and listen, chat, I understand kids are going to be kids. Our next door neighbor, our next door neighbor's kids, I don't I don't know. I don't know what he did, okay?
>> I don't know what he has done, >> but our next door neighbor's kid used to be pretty mildmannered. Okay, all of a sudden, this [ __ ] he's running around and I didn't even know they made this [ __ ] You remember the old pop guns where you could like bang bang bang and it would like make little smoke and [ __ ] He's running around. He's running around firing that [ __ ] off all over the place.
>> A bang bang.
>> Okay.
>> Pissing the dogs off. The other day he just wanted to make some noise. He went outside. This kid had a seven foot stick he found somewhere and he was just smacking the broadside of a giant Amazon box.
>> Cap gun. That's what it called. It's called It was a cap gun. Not to be confused with the Gen Z cap gun, which is just what you call your friend who won't stop lying.
Yeah. Yeah. I'm hip to the lingo. Okay.
Okay, pushing 40 by the way.
>> Time to move now. We're going to stay here cuz it's dirt ass cheap until we buy a mega mansion.
Who knows, man? Amy Amy and I are going through a lot of different There's a lot of changes happening in life right now.
So, who knows, man? We might buy a house here. We might end up buying our next house in Florida. Who [ __ ] knows? Too much [ __ ] is up in the air.
Okay, >> our neighbor kids just race around a street on ATVs.
>> The shenanigans in my area are definitely less family friendly. That's for sure.
>> Maybe even buy an island. I don't [ __ ] know.
>> I don't know.
>> The cane business. I don't I don't make canes. I'm confused.
>> Hang on. I get my treadmill.
And I can change shirts.
>> All right. Hey, shirtless broman incoming. Okay, time for a little physique check-in. We haven't done a physique check-in in a while.
>> Okay. I keep forgetting to record those.
I have to record one in three days because it'll be our our before picture for our 100 days out.
>> Okay.
Okay. All right. Go back here.
>> Yo, chat. This This is how we're doing.
See? Skinny. Skinnyish. All right. Doing good.
When's the rain going to stop in St. Louis? I wish I could [ __ ] tell you.
>> But yeah, look, we got like the the It's coming in. Okay, >> the abs are finally starting to show up after three ab workouts a week >> for I don't know, [ __ ] 10 months.
wouldn't take the shirt off the other day to show off the tattoos. Listen, >> okay.
>> Also, I'll just say it so you don't have to. Tiny nipples. Okay. Every time I post a shirtless picture of me on the internet anywhere, all I see is people saying tiny nipples.
>> It's very frustrating.
I said it for you.
Big mistake giving this content away for free, more than likely.
What kind of nipples would I rather have? I don't know. I don't know what life's like on the other side of the nipple experience. All I know is I'm working with what I got.
Do I want pepperoni nipples? I don't know. I'm sure there's some people that find those very attractive.
>> Anyway, I got to run to a barbecue. Have a good stream now. You want pizza? That's right. It's Professor Romance stream. Tune in for inappropriate jokes. Stick around because nipples make you hungry for pizza.
I'm not trying to be weird about it, but nipples do produce two necessary ingredients.
>> They make milk. And if they're pepperoni nipples, they can be pepperoni. So there you go. You're already halfway done with your pizza.
I'm in such a [ __ ] good chat. I can't even begin to tell you how good of a mood I'm in.
I ain't got any good reason to be in a good mood except for the fact that I >> finally >> got my emotions pointing in the right direction, I guess. Dude, go to therapy.
Modern supercar race, huh?
>> All right. Do we want to go with the Ferrari or the Type S?
>> They don't make macaroni and cheese.
I'll Mac your Ron and cheese. Dude, you want to go with the type S for sure?
Is it the bro man? It is. It's me. I'm just not fat and I don't have glasses anymore. I have my eyeballs lasered.
>> You know what I need to do, chat? I need to take a new profile picture >> for all of my >> waves.
>> Waves everywhere.
>> But it's becoming increasingly obvious.
I can deny it no longer.
>> I am small.
>> Probably the hundth person to ask you, how do you feel about the Destiny 2 news? I feel good about it. Personally, I'm okay. Um I my heart goes out to everybody who's, you know, like that's been their bread and butter this whole time.
Oh, look. Rare Drop L is in here now.
Oh, that that means that means Kevin's been playing. Kevin or Hunter.
[ __ ] Okay.
Um, I can't say it was like unexpected. You know what I mean? Um, we're going to pull a pit on Bowie Knife here. Yeah. Eat [ __ ] loser. Um it was you know the change wasn't it's not unexpected.
Uh I just I just really it is really unfortunate that the end of the game is it's just kind of ending with a whimper instead of like ending with a big bang.
And I I think that I you know and I was watching Dad's video and I think he put it really well.
He he said, you know, it's like you kind of always expect for them to try again.
You know what I mean? Like you always expect for them to uh like they're like they're it's it's Bungie. They're always going to get another at bat.
There's always going to be another DLC.
There's always going to be another raid.
And there's a finality to this that I think a lot of people didn't expect to see honestly this early. You know, and I know the writing is on the the writing was on the wall and uh you know, all the other business metaphors, but the reality is like it's kind of it's pretty sad. It's unfortunate.
I I was expecting I was expecting a Destiny 3 at some point, you know.
Um, you were fairly surprised it wasn't even planned.
I mean, like, I hate I hate to say it, but I have a decent sense of these things and um it is really unfortunate to see a legendary studio like Bungie kind of fall victim to the really shitty like really shitty business management, right? Like I hate that it has become such a story in caution around make sure that your leadership has the best interest of your consumer and your employees at heart. And it's not somebody who's going to falsely inflate the value of the company by spinning up a whole bunch of random ass projects to make the company look better on paper and then never deliver on any of them. So that the investor has to yank the plug.
I >> is the reality of what happened.
>> And it's sad.
>> It's funny cuz it's true.
sold a Mirage, filled a garage. I think I heard Corey say that today on on on Drop Frames.
Um, >> I've been playing Destiny longer than I haven't been playing Destiny. So, it's really sad. Yeah. Uh, you know, to me, and I know people my age might take issue with what I'm about to say, but this would be like if World of Warcraft were to have shut down after 10 years.
It was the formative location for community building. It was the entire It was the entire experience.
like uh if what was 10 years into World of Warcraft was that um which DLC was that? Was that um that wasn't Lich King? That was uh or was it um Burning Crusade?
Basically Cataclysm. Yeah. Like just imagine if Pick your favorite World. If you're my age, pick your favorite World of Warcraft expansion. That [ __ ] drops and then a year later you find out they're discontinuing production on World of Warcraft.
Like that is the experience of so many Destiny players. And there's millions of people who play that game.
Um, yeah. I don't want to do any street races. I want to do the street races on the wheel.
>> I have set your dirt to you, >> Warlords of Drraanor.
Okay.
All right, let's see how the Acura handles on the uh auto drive.
I haven't played Destiny 2 in two years, but man, it was a hard hard read the day. I'll tell you what, man. The the other thing is that everyone who has an emotional attachment to the franchise, all of us were kind of waiting for the next big moment, right? Like Edge of Fate didn't land that well. The Star Wars thing didn't land as well as it needed to.
Imagine if Rockstar said they would stop making open world games. Yeah. Imagine if GTA 5 came out, they started production on G. This isn't even a perfect analogy, but like they started production on GTA 6 and then they just shut it down.
Division 2 Outlasting Destiny 2 is wild.
I actually think and this is this I'll be I'll be honest, this is my bias, but this is my channel, so [ __ ] you. Um I think when you make a niche product, you you have a stickier audience. And Division 2 is also you know, they are a masterclass in their niche product.
You know, it's definitely very different than Destiny, very boots on the ground.
And they they continued to innovate and give their community stuff that the community wanted.
And what that community wanted for a long time was that hardcore mode. And now they're bringing back survival like you know very like they're very much listening to their community.
Um, No Man's Sky is also a niche game and that is why I am so excited about what we're building at Magic Find because if you hear Corey talk about the creative direction of the game and and why we're doing things the way that we do, it's because we're building a game for people who love Fantasy Star Online.
We're building a game for a niche audience.
And I what's MagicFine? Magic Fine Studios is a uh it is a the game I guess you could call it my gaming studio. I'm I'm one of the co-founders.
Still feels crazy to say cuz I >> I didn't join directly at the onset but quickly afterwards. But yeah, Magic Fine Studios, you can check us out. You can use the Magic Find command in chat.
When did this happen? Um, we announced that we existed last November and then just this week we uh finished filling out our our our dev hiring.
And so now we have all of our hires done. We we've got some f we got we got a significant investment Um uh and yeah, we're we're off to the races building what is essentially Cory's dream game.
Um cuz he's the CEO and creative director at at Magic Find. What made me want to start it up? Um, well, I I uh I got approached. I guess I'm I'm I would be member four of Magic Find uh you know, uh member four. So, I joined the founding team a little bit afterwards, but uh you know, Cory came to me and he said, "Hey, I have this great idea for a game." And uh I think I think it's a game that needs to get made because there isn't anything like it out there.
Um and uh my experience of doing business and building businesses with Corey is that he has uh nearly I mean like I I'm I'll hype I'll hype up my friends, man. like he has he has uh insight into what I would what we would define in a business sense as consumer behavior. He has insight into consumer behavior that is almost supernatural at times.
Um and he has only learned how to trust that part of his instinct more uh over time.
So, you know, when he came to me and he said, uh, >> I think this is a good an interesting game to make, >> I went and did my my research and my, uh, >> Oh my god, it's a Ford Focus. We're buying it.
>> It's a Ford Focus hatchback.
>> We're driving it. Um, so he told me what he wanted to make and asked if I wanted to be part of the team. And so I joined up because I believe I I believe in making niche games for niche communities. And I think we are approaching a or in the midst of a restructuring of how gaming works in general >> from a production side. And >> I'm really excited to have a company in that space to help hopefully drive >> the way the space operates. You know, be the change that you want to see, right?
>> Just like with GCX.
Um, >> is Tim part of Magic Fine? Tim is not.
Um, Kevin is involved and so is Eric.
We've also known for a long time. Um, so yeah, Corey asked me to join and uh, we've been going, we technically founded the company last April and then fast forward to now, we have a full team. were in production. And how's the gaming industry restructuring?
I mean, you can look at all of the layoffs. you could I when you look at all of the layoffs um the exceeding overperformance of smaller teams creating single player experiences um and the general failing out of the business model, the free-to-play business model and the AAA live service game business model. um you're seeing those business models kind of hit their limits.
Um I mean, no, it's not weird Mayhem vote.
Tim and I still work together on GZX and King's Coast and you know, just not this project.
So, I am the uh the VP of marketing at Magic Fine Studios, but that's for my title on paper. It's what I'm responsible for, but right now it's like everybody wears all the hats.
Romance's looking trim. Thank you. Thank you.
Thank you. We're in the final push.
We're we're about a 100 days out from turning 40. And my goal when I set onto this journey was to have a six-pack by then. So, we got to uh not like I haven't been losing weight, but really got to lock in going into the summer here.
But yeah, I mean, I think the gaming industry has operated with a certain financial paradigm for a long time.
um COVID was kind of the apex of that style of investing. And then the two years after CO when the market analysts were all convinced that number only goes up and somehow people were going to keep spending as much time inside playing video games as they were during CO after CO ended. Um And I think a lot of big decisions were made based off of that data, which arguably, you know, obviously I think as a boots on the ground person or a practitioner, which is why I find streaming to be incredibly valuable, I'm closer to the endpoint consumer than anyone in a boardroom, right? I hear what y'all think about [ __ ] every [ __ ] day.
Um, you tell me directly and you tell me in an unfiltered way, you know, and I don't have to pay for that.
There's what, like a hundred people here. You're engaged consumers.
It would cost$10,000 plus dollars to get you all in a room for a focus group and we get to talk every day.
But that's besides the point. I I think that indie games and double A studios are going to dominate the market for a long time.
And I think from those groups of studios, you are going to see the next Titanic companies emerge.
Um, you're going to see like this this generation of gamedev is going to Oh my god.
Turn in with my feet.
this generation of gamedev is going to contain the next bunggees and the next um you know Activision's and so you know while I don't believe that's our ambition at Magic Find I don't think we want to grow to be a thousand in person studio.
>> Um the the the signals that I have received >> since founding since co-founding the company with everybody have been really positive.
Okay.
Bill.
Dang it.
D Cartoon Gypsy, thank you. Spider Bites, thank you for all of the likes, dude.
Holy [ __ ] >> Thank you.
Um, >> yeah, I haven't I I took a break from the walking and like something's going on with my thigh.
>> Hell divers did it right with the non-expiring battle pass. Non-expiring battle passes. Absolutely.
loved your content since I was seven.
That's crazy.
>> Romeo, what do you want?
>> Hey, what's up, Aaron? Hi. How are you?
No road racing.
>> The road racing is going to be on the sim chat.
>> Hey, but I got to get my I got to get my at least hour of walking in.
That is my uh that is my goal.
My goal. I got to walk every day.
That was that that's how I push it. You know, you just you just a little bit of walking every day to lose the weight.
That was the big difference for me, man.
When I got stuck at 200 lb, adding the under desk treadmill got me down to the down into the 180s.
I'd redeem flex, but I don't want you to fall. Please don't make me fall. Thank you.
Oh, >> I'm in such a good mood, chat.
And I'm so busy, but I'm in such a [ __ ] good mood. This is great. H, you're looking spelt. Thanks, man. I lost about 80 lbs. I went from 250, now I'm 170.
How am I playing? I'm using a controller.
>> Uh, but I like the auto drive feature.
It's great for streaming. Um, >> I was four of you.
>> Cool shirt, man. Thank you. It says, "Every day I'm harvesting the bounty of this uh uh every day I'm harvesting the wild and spontaneous bounty of this of a physical existence.
You were 587.
Oh my god. You're losing weight though.
You're [ __ ] crushing it though. Hell yeah.
Hell yeah.
>> Now you're down to 505. That's [ __ ] awesome.
>> It's [ __ ] awesome.
>> [ __ ] Keep kicking ass. You are a hero and a champion.
Um, the thing about this treadmill that always gets me compared to all the other ones that I've used is that it is it is on an incline.
So, it's not flat.
I'll find myself getting a little >> a little winded.
>> Hi, Gemma.
>> At unexpected speeds.
Saw a great post on how to save money.
Get jacked. Getting jacked and losing weight is a great way to lose to save money. Eat less.
Just driving like an absolute jackass.
You started counting calories. That's a good one.
Feeling sad about Oh, you feeling sad about Destiny? I get that, dude.
Destiny was that place.
It was It's like the coffee shop down the street, man.
you know, you go there every day.
It's it's on your daily commute. Even when it's not on your mind, you're you're seeing it. You're thinking about it. You're engaged in the universe.
You know, what are my thoughts on Destiny? Um, I am, you know, I'm okay.
Personally, I'm good. Um, I haven't been like a full-time Destiny guy in a a while, but um, it's sad to see it go. I I it's going to be it's going to be a rough trans. I feel for all the content creators, man. Like folks who have built their whole uh identity around that game online. Uh, I diversified a long time ago. I did. I did. I did. And I was very successful at it. And then I took I made I made a, you know, I made an informed decision to stream less during COVID, which was probably not the right choice, but I wanted to lean in to what we were doing at Rare Drop. And it took a little bit longer than expected, but that's paying off, too.
Are you getting a buzzing from my microphone?
Wicked static. Oh no. Hang on.
Okay. Hang on.
All right. Hopefully that improves it.
Are you only hearing it when I talk?
Whatever you touched did it. I need to get a new I need to replace this cord.
This cord is like seven years old.
It's probably got some phrase in it.
Worse here than on Twitch. You still hear it, huh? I did have a Microsoft Teams meeting this week, chat, so maybe it [ __ ] with my game.
Hang on.
So, it was broadcasting a lot of sound there that it shouldn't have been broadcasting.
Okay. How does it sound now?
It's still happening. Is it only happening when I speak?
I I do see it happening.
Now, how are we feeling about it now?
Perfect. That is so [ __ ] weird.
That is so [ __ ] weird, dude.
H. Okay.
Okay.
static charge from walking. No, my microphone is super [ __ ] No, it got it got super [ __ ] up.
This thing, this thing is such a rat's nest, man.
That like anytime there's an issue, I know it's me.
It just it just is what it is, you know?
I don't know how you do this while walking. Lots of practice. I started learning how to walk and play video games while I was streaming Tarov, so this is easy.
Yeah, XRL XRL XLR microphone. And we're on the uh the Road Procaster 2 last harrah on the 9th. Yeah, man. We're doing a huge celebration at GCX to celebrate, you know, the life of the the Destiny franchise. It's going to be really cool.
Time to have it fix your cables. I don't know. The IT guys, I'm going to be honest with you, Chad. I think the IT guy's [ __ ] my wife.
He's this bald guy with tattoos.
I think he's [ __ ] my wife.
Bro, how come I don't make that joke about everything?
I think the I think the videographer for the stream is [ __ ] my I think he's [ __ ] my wife.
The walls are perfect for helping you stop. I gave up trying to win this one.
I'm just trying to turn my drivear into an absolute sociopath.
You know, I want the drivear for professor professor broman to bodys slam you on every turn. you know, off-roading for no reason.
So, anyway, what I was talking about was Destiny. Um, you know, I think I think that the, you know, the bigger content creators are going to be okay.
They're going to find another home.
But anybody that's like in that mid tier or anybody that's really stuck with the franchise for a long time, like it's unfortunate to say it, but I've been doing this for a long time. Like this is kind of the end for some of those folks.
And that's It's sad, you know, part of why the uh people who only do Destiny content or people who are only known for Destiny content, man, I I was I was very successful in the Destiny directory and um making the pivot out of Destiny into I did all right.
Um, but like we we're still talking about going from like having 5,000 viewers tune in every time I turn the stream on >> to a few hundred, >> which is still enough to, you know, maintain this as a a a valuable income stream. But if it wasn't for Magic Find and and GCX and everything else that I do, there's no way I would be doing this as much as I'd get to do this.
People called you crazy for branching out. Oh yeah, man. I mean, like the amount of kill myself. And you see the thing is I went through I went through that transition two times in my streaming career. I went from full-time speedrunning breaking with that community and then starting with playing Destiny a lot and then breaking with that and going to variety.
Um, so I've been through it twice. I got I got I got two groups of people who have small pockets of the community that that want me to kill myself. But >> okay, Romeo, I have said your >> They don't get to decide what I do with my life. I do.
I'm such a [ __ ] And I like it.
I like being a bit of a [ __ ] Let's go here.
People are calling you crazy for starting an esports program your middle school.
I think esports programs are genius.
So, it'll be interesting, you know, like the Destiny community, the Destiny community is going to split itself up and it's just going to be part of everyone's shared past. It's going to be like a secret network that connects people.
Miss the early times in Destiny where people just want to hop on and have fun.
I'm very excited for what we're cooking up with Project Pioneer 3 chat.
Our hope is to build a third space like that. You know what I mean? Place where people feel those kind of feelings.
Going variety is scary. I mean, going variety, you can expect to lose 80% of your audience.
You know what I mean?
>> 100 yard. Turn right.
>> Magic find. You mean? Did I not say magic find? Meant to say magic find.
Sorry. Talking about Bungie. That's why I'm excited for what we got going on with Magic. Fine.
There's a bot in your comments, dog.
I know. I know that. But I'm driving a car right now.
>> Turn around.
>> Safe to do so.
>> All right. How many How many See? See? I'm going to blame you. You specifically >> my fault, dog. Bro, all of your insults are just they're really low tier, man.
Like, if >> if you're going to try and hurt me emotionally, you're going to have to cut way deeper than that.
>> Yeah.
Yeah. I grew up in a house where par my parents [ __ ] hated me. So, you're going to have to do better.
>> You're going to have to do better.
>> All right.
[ __ ] hell.
How you doing, sir? Hope you're well.
I'm [ __ ] fantastic.
>> How am I supposed to get enough bite off of that?
I was wondering why I got angry over the word dog.
Bro, your your lack of ability to understand that my emphasis on the word dog in that sentence was intentionally designed to insult you calling me that shows a lack of media literacy. And the doubling down on it as some sort of wedge to hurt me emotionally shows that your comedic timing needs a lot of work.
Jerry, can you do something about this guy?
I can't remember the last time somebody called me a crybaby. Dude, >> is is modern internet trolling discourse just like saying [ __ ] that's not true >> until people like like I'm I'm going be real with you, man. If modern internet insulting is telling you how you're feeling when it's not actually how you feel. I already lived that for 18 years.
My parents told me how I felt all the time.
>> They don't know ball, dude. They don't know ball. Bro, that is how we communicated with each other when we were in eighth grade. All right, grow up.
You two. You two. You, you two.
No, but also your mom. Boing. Flip. I'm rubber. You're glue.
Like, bro, I [ __ ] get it. You want to be a big man and insult people, but you you can't you can't do the [ __ ] victory lap before the punch has landed.
Okay? Have we all not watched the people running the marathons that are about to place first and then they put their hands over their head like they got a [ __ ] victory and then the person behind them runs right past them? That's me, [ __ ] I'm the guy running past you.
That's me.
I'm sorry you're having a bad day, friend.
People on the internet love to start a fight they can't finish and then complain when you when you punch back.
>> [ __ ] They complain when you even bring attention to them. It's like don't perceive me. What are you doing perceiving me? Stop it.
Hey, no one's told you you're looking good, bro. Thank you. Thank you. I am looking very good.
What I did was I cast a magic spell on myself to be as attractive as I possibly [ __ ] could be and it worked too well.
>> Trade razor or electric razor?
>> Question. Straight razor, electric razor.
>> Um, I use uh was it like a like the five blade like the Bick got like five blades on it.
I love that [ __ ] [ __ ] moves.
I have an electric one that I use occasionally, but I always I still forget that it exists. I'm in that I'm in that part of the add.
I can I tell you it's just really it's really hard for me to get off of it when somebody comes in with like the worst trolling ever because all I want to do is write a dissertation about how [ __ ] stupid and bad they are at trolling. It drives me nuts. Like you don't understand, chat. We used to have trolls in this channel that meant something. Okay?
They would come in and they would [ __ ] troll and it would be [ __ ] glorious. we could have some banter.
They were like practicing their [ __ ] standup act. You know what I mean? The [ __ ] was delectable and now it's just like brain fart idiot [ __ ] This [ __ ] This [ __ ] people used to take pride in their work.
Rage baiting is a lost art. Yeah. I mean the Yeah, rage baiting is a lost art. In the past, they wouldn't be like got you until they actually did. I blame the example that the president of the United States is setting for all of us. You know what I mean? That guy runs around like he's the best troll on the planet for landing jokes that your grandparents wouldn't even understand. He's a [ __ ] [ __ ] And I blame him for the state of trolling in the United States right now.
when he's posting memes that get downvoted on Reddit faster than you can possibly say the word lau.
>> Okay.
>> All right. And everybody thinks like that's the standard. That's all I have to do. I just have to live up to that.
No, you need to do better than that.
She don't [ __ ] care enough. You don't want it bad enough.
>> Dude, the OG the OG Destiny trolls that would like look up my [ __ ] address and then they would like send me [ __ ] pizza and bomb threats. Dude, that was trolling. The people who called in bomb threats to my [ __ ] wedding. That was trolling. Okay, >> that was trolling. That's what I've survived.
All right.
That's not trolling, man. That's crime.
Yeah. Yeah. Well, I mean, now everybody's evolved enough to call that crime, but if I got on the internet in the big year of 2018 and said, "I got swatted and doxed.
>> Please give me sympathy." I wouldn't get it. I would be told to sack up. I don't have a real job, kill myself, quit complaining, and then ultimately told, "That's what you signed up for when you started streaming."
Now people have a much more evolved view of it and I think that's great.
You >> know people understand the space. They they have some compassion out. Tell me what you want.
I got to catch my flight again.
wasn't viewed as a job. It wasn't, dude, >> back in 2013.
>> Yeah. the sentiment I I it's it's so difficult for me to express because like the things the things that I say make me sound like I'm a I'm a overly sensitive conspiracy theorist. But like the information environment around streaming was dog [ __ ] man. If you made money playing video games, people people couldn't [ __ ] handle it, man. They couldn't handle it. You you were a target for some individuals.
And now you know like if you're a successful content creator, you got just as many people who will defend you as people who would attack you.
>> It's just different times, man. It was the wild west.
>> It's records radio.
saw an interview where Taint said he makes more money streaming than music.
It's true. It's true. you get a lot you can you can make a lot more money streaming because it's a um it's a one-time set cost business once you buy all your equipment everything else from there is profit we meant to defend you oh dude it's it's not a [ __ ] problem like I said it's just a different environment but you you know there weren't enough social levers for your community to pull to get the trolling to stop but I Think after everybody spent so much time online during the pandemic, I think that changed. I think that changed and all for the better, you know. All all for the good.
You guys like my Kirby.
Yeah. Now, being a content creator is a pretty normal thing.
>> I think there's a million people in the United States that uh claim content creation on their like taxes each year.
Turn around when it is safe to do so.
So yeah, man. Like I said, I'm in I'm in too good of a m a mood immune. Too good of a mood.
>> Turn left >> or any of that [ __ ] to matter, you know?
I finally identified who the real villains in my life were.
>> You have arrived at your destination.
stopped making excuses for the people in my life that I was allowing into it that treated me like [ __ ] and now they can all [ __ ] die in a fire in game. In game in game. But the sooner they do it, the better my life will be.
We should come up with a signal for when it happens, chat, cuz I won't be able to tweet about it.
I'll have to be really like uh somber and understanding.
and I'll tweet I'll tweet a reasonable thing when they pass, but in chat we'll have to have a code word so that we can all celebrate.
The code word should be preparing tea in the microwave. No, I'm from the US. That might be something I want to actually do.
Yay! Cars. What's up, Audrey?
Audrey, we were just talking about the good old days. We're talking about the good old days.
Were your Were your ears burning?
I want to hit that jump. Hit that jump.
>> Let's see how this thing Let's see how it auto drives it.
You already loving Forza. Want to hear what I thought? Oh my god, I love it. I love it so much. It is so fun. It is so relaxing.
>> It's like the Wisher 3, but you're a car.
>> Do I have any spinnies?
I do. I have six. Give me some [ __ ] money.
Have you heard the theory that Tomater from Cars is a murderer/ an undertaker?
I believe it 100%.
How do you think he got that accent?
Track me.
You don't get a backount accent like that without a few bodies. You know what I mean?
23 Ford Fiesta.
I'm going to be honest, that was ass.
Steven.
>> Every wheel spins ass. That's not true.
I got this >> to do so.
400 y. Turn left.
Oh, [ __ ] with me. I am a master of psychological warfare.
That's so [ __ ] I got a 4 million view Instagram reel off of getting somebody to go into the pause menu for hitting the Microsoft Teams on them.
>> For the foreseeable future, we're going to do [ __ ] around Friday on Forza.
>> And from 400 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern time, we are going to roll around on Forza and we are going to spam that [ __ ] at people.
We are going to watch them panic in game because I have a little bit of a [ __ ] up sense of humor. Okay.
And by [ __ ] up sense of humor, I mean peek.
No one's funnier than me. Not even that person you're thinking about. Yeah, even them.
I also don't know why you were thinking Ray Charles. That was a really, but whatever.
Zoom in closer.
>> Arrived at your destination.
>> Oh, this is that was ass.
Oh, I guess maybe it wasn't ass wheel spin. Legendary Metro.
I remember yelling Xbox turn off in Call of Duty lobbies. Oh my god, that was my favorite thing to do when I was streaming with anybody that was on Mixer.
Anybody streaming on Mixer, I would be like, Xbox turn off. They'd say some dumb [ __ ] and I'd be like, Xbox, turn off.
It was It was glorious.
This guy's got a really mean sense of humor. Yeah. And so Uh-huh.
Uh-huh. Don't make me go Gen Z therapy speak on you.
All right. I will I will 100% absolve myself by overintellectualizing my own experience and take zero responsibility.
I'll [ __ ] do it. Don't you make me.
I'm such a [ __ ] I hate that. Yeah. Well, my main sense of humor comes from the fact that I dealt with a lot of trauma in my childhood where nobody ever really lived up to the I never lived up to anyone else's expectations and they all communicated with me by using negative and sarcastic jokes. So, that's my primary form of communication now.
And I shouldn't have to explain that to you because you're making me do emotional labor for you and you're not paying me for it. And scene, who needs to punch a wall right now?
Anybody? Anybody?
Fantastic time to introduce the drywall punching booth at GCX.
That actually calmed me down. You might need to see a therapist.
So, anyway, this streamer was being terrifyingly condescending and it really regulated my nervous system. Can Can we explore that in our in our next session?
>> It's okay. It's okay. I I I also have those feelings.
>> I don't blame you.
>> Cuz when somebody tells me that they're happy, >> I worry that they're mad, but when they're mad, I trust them. Oh, you're [ __ ] pissed off. Cool. All right. So, it's safe for me to be myself.
>> Do you get any experience for autopilot?
You don't. But you do get to talk to chat without running into things.
We have feelings. Not me, Jackass. How dare you accuse me of having feelings, bro. Man, I'm relating too much right now. Uh, okay. I didn't mean to do that.
I'm sorry.
Let Let me say something unrelatable.
Escape will make me bald. I got to chop these trees down first. I want a clean shot.
How much is this an improvement over the last one? Oh, I mean like thematically.
Danomac, thank you very much for the prime sub.
Thank you very much for the prime sub.
Oh [ __ ] that was kind of hot, dude.
Excuse me, [ __ ] What do you mean failed?
Fail this. Grabs pants. RIP pants grab.
Greatest emote on Twitch.
Dies from cringe.
Chad, it's been a while since we've given you some new toys. Is there any better Twitch TV emotes that you want or 7TV emotes that you want?
Okay, if you don't stop flipping over, I am going to flip you over.
All right, good enough for me.
Is this the Hunter Hunter outro for season do.
Here's my favorite thing to do with auto drive, chat. Hang on.
about to push you on to some hacks, dude.
>> I'll hook you up. First time it's free.
>> Okay, auto drive. You're just bullying that poor person.
How you been lately, Audrey? What's like what's been going on?
How's life? How's things?
Still the boss around these parts. You know what I mean?
Now we just hold a hog. Now I'm sleepy.
I just got so sleepy.
>> 5:00. Bro, I can't. I got no endurance for live strumming anymore, dude. I just don't.
>> No need to follow a road in this game.
You can literally drive straight through the trees. Yeah.
you've been focusing more on your personal life and your professional life. I'll be honest, that is [ __ ] winning. That is [ __ ] winning.
I'm trying to frontload all of my professional life right now so I can just personal life it until I'm [ __ ] dead.
Escape will make me bald.
What's good, broman? Popped up on my Insta talking about D2 throwing my prime sub over.
>> Hey, Foreign State. Thank you very much.
>> Wow, the auto drive really [ __ ] us in this speed zone, huh?
Just put its boot right in our [ __ ] Your destination.
Yeah, I'm trying to I'm trying the other thing I'm trying to do right now is I'm trying to become Mr. Short for Mr. short form content guy because not not currently but at some point in the next few years you know live streaming is going to be a very rare occurrence for me >> turn right turn But I want to stay connected to everybody. So short form content it is.
Besides, that was what I was best at, dude.
That's what I was best at, man. When YouTube was two two to three minute videos.
Yes. So why have I been avoiding that, chat? Why have I been putting myself in a box? I could tell you why by overintellectualizing my childhood experience, but I won't. But maybe you want me to. I don't know.
>> I finally feel free to say how I actually feel about things. It's great.
>> I will say this, you know, I know when when we came back here to St. Louis, I was really hoping to reconnect with my family, but I didn't. Instead, I reconnected with my anger, and that's even better.
[ __ ] >> man. I've never given a group of people more chances.
Sometimes family just ain't it, chat.
You just need to go with your chosen family.
Are the rapid changes in content creation changing making ch like making a decision for you? Uh, I mean, I I think the changing environment, I mean, I'm a [ __ ] dinosaur, dude. I'm almost 40.
I started streaming when some of the most popular broadcasters on this platform were 8 years old.
And it won't be much longer, you know, before I've been streaming longer than some of them have been alive, you know.
So, and I I like and it's, you know, like I said, it's taken longer to get to the end point and that's because of COVID. But the plan was always to stream until the end of Destiny, which now feels like such a different thing to say.
Um, and then kind of ride off into the sunset. But between Magic Find, GCX, and King's Coast, like everything is finally starting to take off.
And um, you know, like I I I basically am doing this for fun now. You know what I mean?
This is uh we've come full circle, you know, like this is the walking around money. This is the This is the Well, technically right now, all the money I make from streaming is uh for paying off every last ounce of debt that Amy and I have so we can be debtree until the housing market crashes and then we can buy a house.
Cuz I'll tell you what, man. There is nothing in St. Louis that is worth the money right now, dude. Why the [ __ ] would I spend half a million dollars for a house in St. Louis?
You know what I mean? Like, why am I spending $400,000 on a on a house in St. Louis when you could spend the same amount of money for the same kind of house in a much better anywhere?
You know what I mean? I move to Oklahoma.
I don't know where Amy and I are going to end up. There's a there's a high percent chance that we'll end up back in Florida for a while because that's I eventually Magic Fine Studios is going to have some kind of building and even if we don't I I want to be around my friends.
thing is though, I don't want to watch a younger person stream. Yeah. I'm I'm never going to be done with this completely. You know what I mean? Like, my most fun time each week is playing video games with you all, right? And I'm not I'm not ready to give that up for anything. So, my 50-year-old [ __ ] probably still hop on every once in a while, you know what I mean? Because I love this. And if I'm going to play a video game, I want to play it with you all around, you know? Like I'm I'm definitely in the golden years.
You know, I'm in the place that I always talked about being back in the day, right, when we had like 10,000 people tune in for Destiny. And I was like, one day in the future, I'm going to have all of this other stuff that I've been working really hard on, and it's going to pay well, going to pay enough for me to just go back to streaming to however many people want to show up every day and having a good time and playing whatever the [ __ ] I want. And that's literally where we're at, man.
And it's great.
It's great. It was The last two years of getting here was brutal, but that wasn't my fault.
That that was stuff that just happened to us and we had to survive, man.
>> Escape will make me bald.
>> Thanks, British panda.
British panda.
He's British and a panda. You better [ __ ] watch out.
>> Okay, Romeo, I have set your route to the dirt race event.
You two are a power couple. It's like you lived a lifetime in two years.
You know, now that we can we've finally kind of come up to breathe. We made it through. It feels like that, man.
It feels like that.
Uh, we survived so much this past 2 years. And Amy Amy actually told me this, and I didn't realize it, but like, you know, Amy and I can't conceive. We We can't have kids. We did IVF. We spent like every [ __ ] penny we had on IVF.
and she was doing some research um to try and find other people that had been through similar experiences that were still together. And um well, the reason there's not a lot of content out there about that is because most people don't [ __ ] make it to the other side of that experience.
They get a divorce and they both usually end up being with individuals in a blended family environment like 90% of the [ __ ] time.
Um, when a couple can't conceive, they that is the end of the [ __ ] relationship.
Um, and uh, to me it never entered my mind because I love Amy more than life itself. I would do anything for her. And I've already been through a divorce.
Um, and she's not the kind of person you leave.
She is one in a trillion.
Um, and I know that because I had a divorce and it was the most awful person for me possible. And so, you know exactly what you're looking for. And I found it in Amy.
You're a good guy. Dangerous.
>> Escape will make me bald.
>> You're a good guy.
And divorce is brutal. In my divorce was particularly difficult because my ex uh left the country and ended up uh ended up living with the person she was cheating on me with. And then after we got divorced, she married them and now she is divorced again.
So I uh got out of a r a really bad situation there. Hey, what's up Hish.
Please rear end Tim. N man I got I got to kill this Bowie knife 99 guy.
Karma worked both ways.
Well, I mean, like, you know, the the traditional the traditional interpretation of karma isn't some sort of mystical force that acts outside of reality to bring you success or punishment. It is simply a word that would roughly translate or in concept translate to our understanding of the word consequences, you know. So, everybody will always receive the consequences of their actions.
I'm sure you've spoken about adnauseium, but how do you feel about Destiny ending? Oh, dude. I I am okay. I left Destiny behind a long time ago and it was a fun place for me to stop by and visit on occasion, but Destiny hasn't been hasn't been my love for a long time. Um, you know, but my heart goes out to everyone who's I mean, [ __ ] even Kevin said like Hunter and his friends just started playing Destiny.
You know what I mean? Like there are people who are just picking the game up or people whose entire life has been that game for 12 years and now it is ending.
Um and you know to me the uh the best Destiny best version of Destiny was Destiny 1. They never managed to recreate the formula in Destiny 2 that made Destiny 1 as you know it didn't it didn't have the same hooks you know. So when I when I grieved the end of Destiny or my experience in it, it was at the end of Destiny 1.
But um but yeah, like you know, seeing folks like Dad and and Astacross and and um Clyde, everybody so tore up about it, it it hurts my heart. I get it. I get I know what it feels like to lose a place that feels like home. I've lost my home many times.
You're sad that their presence in the industry is sunsetting, but that's the natural cycle. It is. I think the thing that hurts the most to me is that is that it it's ending the way that it's ending, >> you know, not on not on >> not on the kind of terms that any of us expected. No, I think everybody wants their favorite game to go out with a bang and not a whimper.
Games are special and you know now I'm a part of a game studio and I >> Hey, you made it to a stunt party.
>> I understand in a new way how deeply passionate every single game developer is. Not that I didn't deeply respect everyone involved in the profession before, but man, the the stuff that I see on a daily basis that just melts my brain with the level of talent uh from people that we get to work with.
You have arrived at your destination.
>> Is incredible.
You want me to take the Dodge Viper?
Okay.
It hurts my heart when players aren't able to grasp that. I Okay. Do you want my big take? Here's my big take, chat.
Are you ready for this? because you're going to think that I'm wrong, but I'm never wrong. I'm right too early, which is basically the same thing. Okay, you let me know when you're ready for my hot take.
I'll take it up. I think that the chudsmanship of the modern gaming discourse has gone on so long that it has become cringe and that everyone is now aware that people who seek negativity and [ __ ] at every turn about every development in every game. People see that now and the idea that critique means credibility is dying.
Okay. The idea that the only honest opinion is a negative opinion is not something that is going to become the the patent standard for gaming discourse anymore. And I'm seeing it happen really slowly, but I'm telling you, it's happening.
And I was reminded of this uh because I saw a post of the one person who I feel like um created content that was honest and negative and then everyone tried to um follow suit and uh you know and then just the internet just got shittier and shittier at doing it. like, you know, like everybody loved the raw honesty of so many of these YouTubers and like all of this other stuff and the consistent like, oh, this game's dead, that game's dead, like like un unless you are talking to somebody who is a Destiny fanboy, um, you are not going to success.
uccessfully, you're not going to watch that person successfully have a conversation there. Nobody is actually convinced that a game is dead because it's trending on Twitter, you know. And five five years ago, if you posted a stream a Steam chart and you were like, "Look, this game's underperforming." That was like ringing a [ __ ] deathbell. That was putting the game's neck in a [ __ ] guillotine.
Um, you know, community managers would be [ __ ] panicking because consumer sentiment was turning against them. And now the community managers don't have to bring the conversation points to the [ __ ] fight anymore because everyone in the comments is doing it. Everyone in the comments wants video games to succeed.
So yeah, like there's still going to be genuine failures and genuine negative things in gaming that happen, but I think we are entering an era where the AAA billion dollar company which was which was the domin dominant force for a long time. And I think that a lot of the anti-game sentiment was actually misdirected, anti- uh anti-corporate sentiment because people didn't hate video games or hate devs.
They hated that McKenzie uh McKenzie consultant associates were getting in the [ __ ] development process of their favorite franchises and [ __ ] ruining them and and turning it into a device to flog them for money.
Um, and so as the consumer base grows to be more educated on a ground level, and as these very large corporate studios have overextended themselves and brought about their own demise, we are seeing a sentiment change.
And I don't think it's going to be fully cemented because the pendulum always swings one way or another. I don't think this will be fully cemented until probably 2030, but I guarantee you the gaming discourse is going to feel much much better uh every month that goes by now until I don't know probably 2035.
So, if what you're telling me it would mean review bombing no longer has a purpose, let me show you Let me tell you something. Let me tell you something.
Hell Divers 2 reviewbombed into the [ __ ] ground still incredibly successful. Slay the Spire reviewbombed into the [ __ ] ground still very successful. It is already an ineffective take because the second you show um a company that a reliable market signal is being manipulated, they no longer use it to evaluate sentiment. It just becomes a less true sentiment expression, right? Oh no, we're getting a review bomb. Yeah, people are mad right now.
Okay.
Every company that has stayed the course through getting review bombed and like you know listen to their community and adjusted course the second that the second the absolute second that the update hits that gives the consumers what they want flood of new reviews that are great.
So that's my super hot take.
My super hot take is that things are actually getting better slowly after getting worse for about a decade.
I take I take my job I take my job as VP of marketing at Magic Fine very seriously.
So, I need to know what matters and what doesn't matter and what's going to matter in a couple years from now because that is going to be the guiding post for our marketing.
>> And I'm so [ __ ] excited about all the wacky [ __ ] we're going to do, man. It's going to be so much fun.
It's going to be crazy. We're going to redo an entire Jackass movie and I'm going to hit Corey in the balls with a baseball bat.
I'm not going to do that. Um uh I don't blame you. Oh no, I understand you were trying to you were you were seeking understanding.
Sometimes my tone of voice reads as as too direct. No, I have set your route to the cross country >> when I talk about data points and I understand that.
>> When did I become a VP? Uh when I joined Magic Flying Studios. I'm also a co-founder from various things.
Marketing is my thing.
>> Yeah, we'll chat soon on Discord. I I did accept >> I don't feel like this is a good good car for that race. It sucks to drive on Horizon Wave.
>> I didn't enjoy that.
>> Yeah. Yeah, man. Uh if you haven't been around in a while, uh I've I've had the ability to do a lot of cool [ __ ] Um you know, we we co-founded a coffee company.
We're celebrating our coming up on celebrating our ninth year this September.
Um GCX has been going good. Uh I'm the content director at GCX now along with being a co-founder. I've wore a lot of hats there. I used to be the CMO there. Um I've consulted for a few startups.
um you know and now we got Magic Mine Studios.
Had the great honor of joining the founding team there as well.
Yeah, it's been really cool. Been really cool.
The next decade of my life is all about me. I'm going to be selfish as [ __ ] I spent my entire 30s raising tens of millions of dollars for charity. I feel very accomplished.
Feel very accomplished on that front.
Uh, and now it's time to make money from my own pockets. You know what I'm saying? It'll be a good time. Not that we won't still do charity stuff.
Obviously, it's part of my DNA, but you get what I'm saying, chat.
Ooh, you Oh god.
Oh god, this golf course is very golf course.
It's very slippy.
Pretty awesome accident that I got diagnosed with cancer. Oh man, that is that is a tough one. If you got a great if you got a great connection with your parents, you know, bumping into their humanity is always a difficult time.
Now, me on the other hand, I'll stop. I'll stop. I'll stop. Is your dad all right, Rich?
I don't know how long ago that was with.
Oh, it just got done raining, didn't it?
Okay, well, that'll do it.
Thank you, Agent K. Uh, ladies and gentlemen, if you will look right here.
>> What were we talking about? I just forgot. Uh, bowel cancer.
Um, so he's had the treatment, but he's a little bit older. You're kind of in hospice right now. That's tough, man.
That's really tough. If you know a good wizard, uh, you know, I have an individual that we could do a swap with.
Okay. I know we need to equivalent exchange it.
You just you hit me up in a DM with the name of your favorite wizard and then I got someone that we can swap it with.
Still living at home. That's good. Being able to stay living at home is huge.
Nobody is golfing on this golf course.
Nobody is golfing on this golf course.
It Oh my god, that guy wanted me to lose.
Bro, at this point I just want to finish this [ __ ] race.
I also need some water. I'm a little dehydrated. I think I'm getting a headache.
Heat.
Heat.
Made some protein mac and cheese.
Man, I was a [ __ ] head.
That's the other thing about uh getting along here to 40, right, is uh you get a lot of perspective and you look back and you're like, man, I was a [ __ ] Really didn't have my head on straight about that situation.
It's a good feeling though. I think it means that you're healing, you know.
Hey. Hey. What's up, Chad?
Hope you're doing well, man. Thanks for thanks for stopping by. watching me choke this race in Forza.
Hey, what's up, Ztor Storm Gamer? How you doing? Let me grab some water. I'll be right back.
Heat. Heat.
What in the world is that emote? Is that party frog dude?
I'm 44 and grew up getting the [ __ ] kicked out of me and I'm still standing.
Hell yeah, man.
People underestimate how strong uh survivors are. You know what I mean?
Like if you have survived people treating like if you've survived the people who are supposed to take care of you treating you like absolute dog [ __ ] It's a superpower.
You just got to tap into it.
And the door you have to walk through is pointing the finger at the right person.
They are the [ __ ] that [ __ ] and are pieces of [ __ ] and should die in a car accident in game in game of course.
I don't know what kind of Okay, Romeo, I have set your route to the cross country race event.
Track me.
Oh yeah. Oh, we're big chilling, dude.
Or being chilling.
You can't figure out how to drift to save your life. Make sure you turn off traction control in your options menu.
That was one I was told about the other day.
It does work quite well.
Hell yeah. Axton.
This is the future of driving, man.
You're going to be able to just like chill like this.
Outun the competition.
Look at the horizon wave.
This is a trailblazer. There's a start and an end gate, but you'll need to figure out the middle part. Little hint, the fastest route, not necessarily from following the road. Focus up and use your navigational skills.
>> Turn around when it is safe to do so.
>> Okay. Sick.
>> Blazed. Enjoy it. There'll be mortifying with every new wristband.
>> That trail got totally blazed, chat. Did you get it? It's a marijuana joke.
You got to be highly sophisticated to understand the marijuana joke.
You have arrived at your destination.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Okay, chat. Let me ask you a question. I don't know if it's just cuz I'm on Canada Tik Tok, but have you all seen or heard about the old lady that that that tried to jump an employee at Tim Hortons, got her ass beat, and then dropped dead.
It's a very nacho coded story. I I've been waiting to see him today, but then I realized that that one website, the green website's not working.
Yeah. She's like 76 and uh she was talking like most 76-year-old people do to employees at an establishment. She got out of her car, went after a 17-year-old employee.
Uh, and she got her ass beat and while she was waiting for an ambulance, uh, she just dropped Yeah.
[ __ ] wild.
Great work. The next Horizon Rush event is ready to take off. Well, once they finished fueling the rocket.
>> Excuse me. Do I get to go to space now?
Are we going to be spaceonauts, dude?
The best part about going to space is being in space. And the second best part about going to space is knowing that Jeff Bezos isn't going to be up there with you.
He's going to be down here faking it.
Okay?
Like you on a bad date, chat. Gaas can fake it, too. All right. I'm just saying.
Don't shoot the messenger.
>> Ready for the Horizon Rush? Not sure how you prepare for a huge stump course around a giant rocket. Do you think it'll take off? I guess we'll find out.
Oh, was that this? This is cinematic camera. Shut up, dude. We are vibing.
Oh, that's nice.
Oh, that's nice. That's real nice.
Hey there, quick wave announcement. The new Horizon Rush event is live.
Qualified drivers can head to the starting line now. This one is at the Iraqa Space Center, which is extremely cool. Just try not to get distracted by the exhibits on orbital docking and moon rocks. Those would be major obstacles for me. I think those are in the visitor center, though, so you should be fine.
>> Oh man, we're pulling up to the city.
This is so cool. Imagine taking an edible and then watching the cinematic camera. Do you mean imagine being me right now?
I'm about to finish this and I'm about to go make some spaghetti.
I'm going eat the [ __ ] out of that spaghetti.
We got some some brown bison.
Oh, it's going to be [ __ ] good.
>> Horizon.
This is Horizon Pulse. And a massive shout out to the driver who's on a bit of a win.
>> And a massive shout out to the driver who's driving to drive while they're driving their drive to drive driving even further than a normal drive.
Um, I'm not sure if the pop music fits with that vibe. Uh, but if you're listening anyway, enjoy the position and just keep winning. Basically, do what you're already doing.
Heat. Heat.
Come on.
Come on.
me.
Come on.

Oh man, we almost took out somebody's family >> just dragging ass across the finish line. It's Professor Roman.
Brutal.
Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.

We got a purple wristband.
A purple wristband is no simple task.
>> You're pushing towards the elite and reaching this event will see you into legend status.
>> These events are curated for the best of the best. Complete these and your legend event will be waiting for you.
Damn.
That's a lot of [ __ ] to do.
>> A step closer to Legend Island.
>> I'm sure I'll see you there. Turn right.
>> This map over simulates me.
>> Yeah, but in the best way, right?
>> Recalculating.
Under 400 yd turn, >> this series has drag races. Yes, >> I don't know if that's new in six or not.
>> All the brave astronauts who raced at the Irakawa Space Center and collected their new wristbands. That's one small step for festival racers. One giant leap on the way to becoming a legend. You've got the right stuff. They should have sent the poet. Houston, we don't have a problem.
>> When they add that, then I guess it's a new addition.
>> Yeah, I did. And yeah, well now I'm a base arena DJ for six. I'll >> take you to the stars.
You've arrived at your destination.
Yo, big news. Horizon almost got me a green wristband yesterday. Like I was poised. Second place into the last corner and then I thought about my yellow wristband and how far it's come and I just spun right out.
Legends ever feel that way?
Which car do we want to be? Which car do we want to be? If we could be a car, a car for you and me. Which car we want to be? What a car we want to be. Let's be this one.
>> Maybe you don't want the purple wrist back, you know, cuz you'd miss your orange one.
>> No. Well, that's why you're so close to getting it on Legend Island, and I am not. I just play the tracks instead.
Let's get it.
What a fun little [ __ ] car.
This game is turning me into a car person. F1 started it. This game has cemented it.
But don't worry, chat. I don't need a garage full of cars, okay? I'm not going to Pete Parsons you.
I'm not going to fabricate my value to make a billion dollar poison pill with with Sony.
>> I watched the race today. I didn't get a chance. I was live. I I didn't realize >> trap. I need to watch it.
>> It is awesome. They put up streamers and decorations. You can see animals base are reap the AE86 for cautious sake and spin in some humongous tracks.
>> That's a nice way better is if we had some kind of racing competition to watch.
>> Wait, if only I knew good old PDP.
>> If only they could find brand new events on the playlist. Hint, hint, hint. The cave >> escape will make me ball. Citrus, a name as old as time.
>> You arrived to your destination.
Easy trailblaze, bro. Easy trailblaze.
Super wheel spin. I don't give a [ __ ] about anything else. Maybe this. Okay, now I don't give a [ __ ] about anything else. Super wheel spin. Give me the good [ __ ] Triple legendary or I'm fighting my grandmother.
Good thing she's already dead, cuz I didn't want to have to dig up a corpse to fight. That was going to be uncomfortable.
I want to be cute sushi man. Yeah, dude.
Buy every single horn and you'll have better odds. Never tell me the odds.
Telling me the odds.
Don't tell me the odds.
And if you've told me the odds before, don't tell me the odds again. And if you told me the odds that if you told me that you told me that you told me that the odds are what you told me, then I tell you what, you better tell me that I told you that that telling me the odds isn't what you should do.
