The Diamond DA50RG is a modern light aircraft featuring intuitive environmental controls and smooth flight characteristics, making it ideal for general aviation enthusiasts; Savannah, Georgia, founded in 1733, is the oldest city in Georgia and was historically the center of the cotton trade, featuring unique elevated walkways called 'factories' that allowed merchants to move between offices and warehouses without descending the steep river bluff.

We flew the DA50RG to Savannah GA
Added:Tomorrow morning, Ashley and I are flying into one of the biggest aviation events in the country. Sun and Fun. But before we can get there, we have one small problem. We're currently in Raleigh, North Carolina, where the Premier Aircraft's DA50RG is based, and Lakeland, Florida is still hundreds of miles away. So instead of rushing the trip, we decided to turn the journey into an adventure of its own. Tonight, we're flying south to Savannah, Georgia.
And honestly, neither of us knew just how beautiful this stop would be.
Variable at three visibility 10800 ceiling 10,000 broken.

And today we are taking off out of Raleigh and we're going to be flying tonight to Savannah and then tomorrow we're going to be flying into Sun and Fun. We've got about an hour and a half, maybe a little more in route. And this is really Ashley. Ashley flies a Cherokee 6 sometimes, but she hasn't been flying too much uh general aviation.
>> Do you want to finish?
>> I introduced myself in the last video.
I'm a little camera shy.
>> Oh my gosh, you're great.
>> But I fly 525 series. So that can be citation 1 2 3 4. But I was primarily flying the straight CJ3 doing some flying like that. But um it's good. It's different obviously. So it's still good to sharpen your skills with VFR GA flying small planes.
>> But my boyfriend and I will usually take our Cherokee sticks over to the Bahamas.
That's something that we really enjoy to do.
>> Very cool.
>> Too bad he couldn't come experience the DA50.
>> I know. Well, so he's looking he's interested in the 50. So >> I think he would like it. I think so, too. It's such a hot rod.
>> I'm just a little short, so I kind of need it.
>> She needs the booster.
>> I am fun size, so I definitely need a little boost. We saw the airplane that Ashley used to fly. And we also have Starling. So, very excited. Brett kept this charged for us. Thank you, Brett.
Austin, and they're both sales at Premiere. Austin never charges the Starling, so this is great.

November 436. Lima alpha is 6.5 on course.
>> It's nice up here. He's working. Nice.
>> Nice and cool.
>> I love diamonds.
>> Just going over checklist, too. Every once in a while, I feel like I'll grab the the P and just start reading it again. It goes pretty fast, right? It's going I'm not even at full load.
>> So, what's the useful load on this again?
>> It's in here. I think it's 1,200, but I want to double check.
>> That's pretty good.
>> It's pretty good.
>> We are getting close to Savannah. We had a nice chill cruise and we are bound to our destination, Savannah. And it is Saturday night, so the hotels in Savannah right now are actually really expensive.
>> So, we're going to we're going to see where we end up. I love this. I love how smooth this plane is. I'm just like, >> it's a dream.
>> I know.
>> It's a dream.
I love how this environmental control, you can just turn this lever up.

>> November 436 Lima Alpha. We'd like to set our sun.
>> Oh, it really likes to slow down.
>> Oh, it feels like it feels like you have the reverse thrusters when you put it all the way to idle. That's what it sounds like. It just sounds really cool.
>> It sounds like it's just like it's going to drop like a rock.
>> Like a rock.
>> We had a beautiful sunset landing and found out Gulfream is actually headquartered in Savannah, Georgia, where it's maintained its primary manufacturing, research, and development headquarters since 1967.
>> We are on the ground in Savannah.
Signature aviation via Bravo and negative. I'm not familiar. Six Lima Alpha.
>> Six alpha. Once you make the right turn on Bravo and you get past those big, beautiful Gulfream buildings off your left, it's kind of hidden back in that alleyway. If you reach the FedEx aircraft, you've gone too far.
>> I see it. Thank you very much. Six Lima Alpha.
>> What a lovely flight. Thank you guys so much for flying along with us. This is just the first leg of our trip to Sun and Fun. And tonight we're going to go out get a get some nice dinner and uh I'm probably going to get a whiskey since we're in Savannah. will be up wheels up at 9:00 a.m. and at sun and fun before noon.
>> Thank you.
>> Hey, we are down from Savannah and we are on the hunt for something good to eat. There's a lot of people tonight, so let's see what we find.
Look at that.
Oh, it's so cute. We wrapped up the evening at Vixs on the River, wandered along Savannah's waterfront, and I ended the night the best way I know how, with a whiskey in hand in a deep dive into local history. Fun fact, Savannah is the oldest city in Georgia, founded all the way back in 1733. And somehow, despite being in the middle of the Civil War, much of the historic downtown survived and still looks remarkably similar to how it did centuries ago.
One thing that caught my eye walking around Savannah was all these little bridges crossing above the streets. It turns out they're not decorative at all.
Back in the 1800s, this entire area was the center of the cotton trade. And merchants used these elevated walkways known as facto's walk to move across offices and warehouses without having to climb the steep bluff down to the river.
Me and uh Ashley climbed one of these bluffs, and they are actually really steep. Savannah has a reputation for being one of the most haunted cities in America. After walking around the historic district at night, I can see why. Between the centuries old buildings, Spanish moss, and stories of ghosts along River Street, there's definitely a spooky vibe here after dark. Luckily, Ashley and I made it through the night without any paranormal encounters. At least that we're aware of.
Oh no, there's a boat over here.
Wrong boat.
No, it's this one.
>> Not too bad for an overnight. Tomorrow is the reason we started this trip in the first place. An early wakeup call, one more flight south, and our arrival into Sun and Fun. See you in Florida.
