The video provides a practical and accessible bridge between amateur collecting and formal lithic analysis by grounding complex typologies in tangible field finds. However, it occasionally prioritizes the thrill of the "haul" over the rigorous archaeological context essential for a deeper historical narrative.

We Didn’t Expect This MANY Finds!!! Arrowhead Hunting Payoff’s!!!Added:
Hey, what's going on everybody? I'm Justin with Crow Outdoor Productions. We got a new video coming at you. We still ain't got much rain. It's raining right now, but man, let me tell you, we found at least a few incredible artifacts on this one. We found one of the very best arrow heads or dart points uh that we've ever found on this campsite. And uh we found some other incredible artifacts.
There's not a lot of finds in this one just because of these conditions we're in. But let me tell you, stick around for it. Let us know what you think. If you if you do like the video, like it, hype it. If you're not subscribed, we really want you to subscribe. Uh really helps. And you know, then you're going to know next time you open up your feed that we got a new video out. So, we appreciate everybody and God bless.
Okay.
So, I was coming through here doing like this with my stick.
Wow.
I got to get some water on it. Give me a minute to to look it over. I'll get back with you. It's got obvious uh tip fracture. That's why it's fluted right there coming this way.
All right, got this thing cleaned up for you. Yeah, it's got an obvious impact fracture there.
It's busted up on the base, too. Some kind of corner notch point.
Probably late archaic to early woodland time period.
It's a nice piece.
Still thankful to have it. I know it ain't the prettiest one, but looks like it used to be a really nice one.
I can't tell for sure. This looks like it could be a dirt working blade.
Well, it's big. Whatever it is.
What the heck?
What in the world?
That stuff is on there. That's clay.
Well, we'll just have to get it cleaned up and check it out. That's a That does look like silt stone, though. I don't know what this I don't know. Well, let's get it cleaned up and then we'll figure it out.
That clay is on there.
I don't know. That's got a shape of a a big dirt working tool. I'm pretty sure that's what it is. See that notch right there? That was a notch. There was a big stem. And that's what that was right there. Big old cultivator, dirt working tool, plow, spade, whatever you want to call it. That's what that was. They use this probably for farming uh corn and squash and whatever. That's really cool, though. I've never found one like that, man. Hey, drop a comment if you've ever found one like this. Probably wouldn't be from this material. This is silt stone and it's native uh about 15 20 miles away.
That's a sweet find right there.
Let's go find something else.
And that's beautiful material. Broken base of some kind of corner notched something kind of weird.
That notch doesn't really match that notch's style.
About to run out of daylight, buddy.
Go ahead.
>> Tip doomed. What is that pattern? See it >> here? Quit moving so much.
>> It's like a pattern.
>> It's got two notches and a good base.
>> Look at like a pattern on it, though.
>> Yeah.
>> It's pink.
pretty rough.
>> I mean, that's the second arrowhead we found that's that that like like that color.
>> Yeah, we don't find much of this pink material, do we?
>> No.
>> That matches my skin.
Pretty cool.
>> Must have been a rare material or something.
>> Yeah, it's beveled.
I don't know. Let's keep looking though.
I'm not sure what I got here.
I can see it's worked.
I'm not sure. I'm not sure how to look at it really.
It's broken here. It's worked around this.
Maybe it went like that right there.
But that's kind of an odd shape.
Definitely broken here. I was thinking this would be the stem, but it's worked off here.
I don't know. It's cool material though.
Tell me what you think it is. Maybe it's just a a little tool and that's why I'm having trouble.
I don't know.
Drop a comment. Tell me what you think.
Appreciate y'all watching, too, by the way.
Okay, so I think I just found a killer blade right over there where my steak is. A blade like a silt stone blade, but it looks like it's all there. Looks full. I hope it is. Let's get you flipped around and check this thing out.
Holy smokes, man.
That thing is incredible.
Wow, that thing is awesome.
This is the second one I found right here in this uh this little area that uh couple videos ago I found one about right there. Obviously, this was farmed heavily. These could be woodworking tools, too. Um, but you know, the people that's supposed to know what this stuff is, they told me these are dirt working tools. Um, I think they could have been used for either or, dirt or wood chopping. I'm going to get this thing cleaned off though and show it to you. I don't want to rub the dirt around on it too much. It's got a bunch of clay packed on it. Let's take it down to the creek and get her cleaned up.
Wow.
Man, that's cool.
I've never found one quite that uh that long that's that that narrow.
This is really really polished from uh cutting through whatever they was cutting.
Surface profile feels a lot smoother here than it does just right here.
Man, that's cool.
And I am thankful to have it. Thank you, Lord.
Maybe we'll find something else cool.
So, I found these before.
There's usually a hole in them, and I don't know what they used them for. This is just rock, but it's out of out of place. You got to consider the context, like I always say. We'll get this thing cleaned up. Get that out and see if we can see any kind of wear in there.
All right, got this thing cleaned up.
That thing went way down deeper than I thought it was going to. That sand and dirt was packed into it good.
But see that those lips and stuff like that?
Those aren't clean brakes of whatever kind of stone this is. I mean, it feels like sandstone, but I don't know. It's got, you know, concavities in it. And like I said, it's not normal to find it where, you know, where I find it. So, drop a comment.
Tell me what you think. I'm thinking, you know, maybe even just little dipping cups. Who knows?
This area right here where we're at has been my biggest producer of manos and matadis.
Now, this one's obviously broken, but it's a it's a nice half.
It's been broken a long time, actually.
It's really smooth right there. They might have used it after they broke it, too.
I don't know. I'm going to clean it up, though. Sometimes they uh you can see a lot more when you get these things cleaned up. Let's take it down to the creek.
This thing is way nicer than I thought it was when I first found it. I thought it was broken.
This was a heavily used tool.
Look at them lines where they cut across that.
This side extremely polished smooth.
Here we got a slight divot right here.
The ends kind of like they've been hammered on, hammered with.
That's a very, very interesting mano right there. here. And I'm going to say that's complete. Like I said, I thought it was broke. That's a nice nice stone.
Shoot you. Thank you, Lord.
Can't see cuz mushroom.
>> What is that?
>> What is this crater?
Comment below if you know what this is.
It got really, really long when I first poked my stick at it.
>> Wait, extended.
>> Yeah, extended. Yeah. I don't know.
>> I got to crawl up.
>> You got one. You got to crawl in.
>> Mhm.
>> I can't get it to focus. There he is.
Oh, he got away.
Let's go find something.
I don't know what this is. I mean, it's obviously a rock. It's really, really big.
Seems out of place.
Whoa.
What in the world? This is exactly one of them things that I found except it's huge.
I've never even seen one this big down in the creek.
I'm not doing good with the camera. I'm sorry.
I'll just take it down there and clean it out. We'll look at it.
It'd be cool if they left me something down in it, wouldn't it?
Let's go clean it up. Get a better look at it.
Get this cleaned out.
It's raining right now.
It was I've never seen one of these this big, buddy.
>> Yeah.
Trying to get it out. See if we can see any kind of evidence.
See that?
>> Mhm.
>> Drop a comment. Let me know what you think they use this for.
I'm I am convinced they used it for something.
>> Could be maybe like a bowl.
>> Maybe a corn crusher, like a nut crusher. Put the nuts in there and then >> I don't know. It's really smooth on the inside down in here, though.
Can you see that?
>> Mhm. Yeah. Right there.
>> Looks like it's been burnt right here.
It's really, really black.
>> Why is it raining now, bro?
I don't know. We'll take it though.
>> Mhm.
>> I don't know. That's interesting.
We've never found nothing like that up there at the site. That's cool.
>> Yeah.
Did >> you get it?
>> Yep.
>> All right. Tell me what you think.
Very, very interesting piece.
I thought it was just going to be a big round stone that they may have used for sharpening stuff on. I didn't expect it to have that big concavity in it.
Pretty neat.
Let's go find something else.
Flat end there.
Kind of cupped out. Kind of cupped out here.
Little divot right there where my thumb's at.
groove back there. I think that was a I don't know what you call that. Like a pestle. Now, it's definitely not the best example of the ones I've seen, but that's what I believe that is.
I could be wrong. I am guessing, but I do believe that that's an artifact.
I'll take it with me.
I'm not very close to any water. I'd clean it up for you, but broken mano.
There's a divot right there.
There's one right there, too.
Right there.
It's been broken a while. Some Every once in a while, I'll put these together and see if, you know, any of them match up because I found a lot of them split right down the middle like that, but I never found one that matches.
Pretty cool, though.
Little broke base.
All right, me and the little man's out here. We got this thing freshly worked up. Supposed to be some rain coming. I did this yesterday and I always like to come even even before the rain because it does seem to help uh just it drying.
And it it looks like I got a really really good point. I can't see the bottom of it, so I don't know if it's all there, but what I can see at the tip, it looks phenomenal. So, I hope it's not a heartbreaker, God willing.
Let's Let's get you turned around and look at it. I know, man.
I hope it's all there. Just pull it.
Pull it straight up out of the ground.
Hold on. Wait, wait, wait, wait. I can't see. You got to come around here on this other side. Come over here and pull it just straight up.
Holy smokes, son.
Dude, >> what?
>> That thing is freaking awesome. It's I >> kind of looks like a spear.
>> Yeah. Here. Oh my gosh, dude. I'm so glad we came out here. I think you call this this kind of Gary Maben. They got more of a squared off stem right there. I'm not positive. All I know is that thing is incredible.
Look at the color difference where it sit in there in that damp soil. Let's go get some water on it. Man, I'm so thankful for this. Thank you, Jesus.
Let's go get it cleaned off. Okay.
>> Yeah. Come on.
>> Okay. Go ahead, buddy.
That thing is awesome, man. Shoot you, dude. Don't hit that tip on that stick right there. Get this stupid stick out of here. Here you got it.
>> Yeah.
Like, man, we needed that, bro.
>> So much wider now.
That thing is serrated, dude.
My gosh, that is incredible.
How thin it is.
We've never found a Gary that's serrated.
And I know it's it's not heavily serrated, but the the retouch on it sure makes it look serrated. Anyways, I don't care who you are.
That's a killer right there. That is absolute smoker.
Super smoker. That's what it is. It's a super smoker. I thought that was that darker color down there was from the moisture because the base was stuck in the ground, but I don't think it is. I think that's the color of the material.
Absolutely incredible. And I am so thankful.
Thank you, Lord. Thank y'all for watching. We appreciate everybody that watches. Hey, like this video. Hype it up if you enjoy it. Subscribe if you're not subscribed. Most of our viewers are not subscribed yet. We really appreciate all of you. God bless.
All right. What did you think of that?
I'm going tell you that dirt working tool. That's one of the finest dirt working tools that I've I have found yet. The Gary I I believe it's a Gary Maben. M- A- B I N. Uh, it's a subtype.
It's one, it's built, the craftsmanship on it is one of the highest quality garies that I found. Uh, I'm going to put it right there at the top. Anyways, uh edges being serrated, the base is heavily ground on that thing. And on the uh right at the edges of the of the base, it's chamfered intentionally, and that's heavily ground, too. I've never seen one like that, but that is what we're calling it. So, uh, hey, we appreciate everybody watching. Hope you enjoy this stuff. We enjoy, you know, bringing it to you. We enjoy getting out here and and finding these artifacts. We appreciate everybody and God bless.
