[00:00:13]What is up guys? Politics Gaming here and today we're doing a brand new video.

[00:00:18]So I'm wondering if any of you guys didn't notice, you know, the kerfuffle that happened last week.

[00:00:26]Um, long story short and I'll go into a little bit of detail in this video is just going to you know, let you guys know what happened. Basically, um, I ended up being stupid and I got fished.

[00:00:38]I got uh, um, essentially the long and short of the story is that I got an email like last Friday or like about week and a half two weeks ago and I'm very careful about my cybersecurity, you know, I take uh, precautions whenever reading emails, you know, I don't click links that I'm not familiar with.

[00:01:01]Um, >> [laughter] >> but I got a simple email from someone that basically said, "Hey, you're using my music in my in in your video.

[00:01:08]Um, this link right here will tell you which video it is and then, you know, it was from a company called Anthem Entertainment and it also kind of was like this just one uh, guy messaging me saying, "Hey, like I want to see if you can take this off."

[00:01:27]But then it's like the video the first red flag that kind of popped up with this was whenever I would see the video, you know, it would say like, "Here's the video." It would show the video. But then whenever I went and looked again about a day or two later, the video actually changed. And I tried to get clarification over the video about which video it was, what song it was and there was like a specific area where it was in my previous my most my latest USA episode. And there was a It was a section where I played the like a soccer song or I think it's called Zombie Nation, uh that song in there um as a kind of like a little bit of a way whenever the war started with Iran and um as the missile was going in, you know, you hear that song and it was kind of meant to be kind of like more humorous humorous moment of that video.

[00:02:20]But then I thought it was weird because the day that I made I got that email, they were like, "Hey, we you used my song." But then it was like before I even made that video. So, I really kind of should have caught on by that time that something wasn't right about that.

[00:02:38]And what ended up happening is that, you know, over the course of a couple of days, you know, I was replying back and forth with these guys saying like, "Hey, can you just tell me which one it is?

[00:02:47]Like I'm just waiting to hear about what video you're talking about and like, you know, if you can tell me like over the phone or over the over email, you know, I'll happily remove the video. You know, I don't want any issues with my channel.

[00:03:03]Don't want any copyright strikes. I just don't have time for that.

[00:03:06]And eventually they ended up saying, "Hey, you need to file dispute through this claim form." And eventually on on my lunch break uh during uh whenever I was working, I came across that and, you know, I clicked the link, went to the forum, I filled it out, and, you know, the specifications that they wanted me to fill out.

[00:03:28]And then they were like, so whenever I clicked the the submit button, it was just like, "Hey, we want to verify with that we uh that you own this YouTube account."

[00:03:38]So, you we need you to sign in to the YouTube. So, I'm like, "Okay, that's really suspicious. I don't feel comfortable with that." Because I don't like to like even whenever it's like a normal website like uh like a just any other website, I don't necessarily like to sign in with using my Google account because it just seems just really fishy and emphasis on the word fish.

[00:04:01]Uh and whenever I clicked it, then I was just like, "Okay, you know, benefit of the doubt." But then whenever I clicked it, it was just like, "Hey, someone is trying to sign in from this city in Massachusetts." And I'm like, "Okay, that's really suspicious. That's extremely suspicious." So then I emailed them back and I said, "Hey, like this is going on. I see that, you know, someone's trying to sign in from this place."

[00:04:26]So then in my head I'm like, "Okay."

[00:04:29]Like I said, benefit of the doubt. Like I said, I was really stupid whenever I came to this part. I ended up approving it and whenever that whenever I approved it, I immediately kind of caught on. I was just like, "Oh, crap. I think I just got phished."

[00:04:43]So I immediately went in and I changed and I changed my Google password, but by the time that I had uh really caught on to what was going on, they immediately locked me out of my account. And if you had been watching uh my channel about 2 weeks ago or week and a half 2 weeks ago, they you would have seen like an Elon Musk cryptocurrency live stream that would have been popped up on my channel and then within a about 10 minutes of that going live, uh my channel went down. So really my fault, you know, don't click links that you're not familiar with. Um if anything, I would have probably rather gotten a copyright strike than would have had to deal with that because then I, you know, I had to go to YouTube. I had to, you know, fill out a bunch of forms. It was a lengthy little bit of a lengthy process. It took shorter of amount of of an amount of time than I really thought it would. Uh my account actually got compromised on a uh Friday and I ended up getting it back like that following Tuesday.

[00:05:51]Um and I remember waking up at like 5:00 in the morning and I woke up and I look and I was just like, "Oh, uh Google just sent you a password reset link." And I was just like, "Yep, yep, yep, let's go, let's go." And so I went, uh recovered my channel or recovered my Google account and then I went in um I ended up trying to get my YouTube channel back and um actually within that hour, I ended up submitting a forum, you know, saying what happened, what happened with my channel, why uh I got I got fished and but YouTube was actually pretty quick about reinstating my channel. So literally within about 30 minutes to an hour of submitting that forum, I had my channel back.

[00:06:33]I had to go in, make sure that they didn't have any settings that were turned on.

[00:06:37]Um and and yeah, so what really sucks about this, what really sucked about that whole situation is that I work in a field in which I have to deal with fishing, with uh with compromised data, uh just a lot of uh different types of fraud that occur all throughout uh the country and the world. And it it it it it was frustrating to me because I was just like, "I deal with this literally every day. Why am I so stupid to to have fallen for something like this?" And you know, it it really kind of puts it into perspective about fraud and fishing.

[00:07:18]Just biggest thing, number one, just lock down your account.

[00:07:23]Don't go without security features if you don't have it, especially for your Google account. Because the the best thing about the best thing to know about Google is there is no one you can talk to. You can't call anyone, you can't text anyone, you can't talk to anyone except go to a forum and try to uh help get someone to help. If you don't have a YouTube account, it's all self-service through Google. You if if if you don't have a YouTube account, then you are essentially screwed if you have a singular email that is compromised.

[00:08:01]Um security keys, get a security key, lock down your account with 2FA, don't click links that that are suspicious.

[00:08:10]Really hard lesson got learned about a week and a half ago, 2 weeks ago for me.

[00:08:15]And it almost ended up losing my channel and >> I know where you live.

[00:08:22]>> I'll actually put a link at the at the end of this video and right now actually, there's a video that I actually made years ago, 6, 7 years ago that essentially kind of predicted what had happened to me because this guy that actually got into my account was a Russian and you could actually tell because then I'll put the screenshot right here, the guy was actually a Russian that got into my account, which is interesting because I thought Russians weren't allowed on Google services anymore. So it was it was kind of like, oh, I guess I guess they are or like how the how the heck are they are they not are they signing into um to these types of services um whenever it's coming to like Google or like American companies especially. Um and so it it was just kind of like just a very hard lesson.

[00:09:21]Like I said, don't fall for these types of scams if they are trying to pressure you, if they're trying to make it time sensitive, something like that.

[00:09:31]That's really where they get you is because they're trying to say, "Hey, we need for we need you to do this within 48 hours, otherwise this is going to happen.

[00:09:39]And it's all a ruse just to get your account. And that's the other thing. I mean, maybe someone can help me down in the comments below.

[00:09:46]What is the point of getting the channel taken down whenever it's like an Elon Musk crypto scam?

[00:09:56]Um and yeah, so I just wanted to give you guys an update. Just I am working on some some content for you guys. I actually really made me think about it.

[00:10:07]Just like, man, like, you know, do I really want to continue YouTube? And I remember whenever I was like having being locked out of my account, I was just thinking about it to myself like, okay, I I really want to make a video right now and I really want to work on that corporations video.

[00:10:24]But then I was just like, oh yeah, I forgot that I'm an idiot and I got my channel like shut down because I got fished.

[00:10:31]So, whenever it comes to like content, you know, I do have a corporations video that I'm going to be making very soon.

Here are all my subsidiaries right here that I own or partially own. I'm going to be making a corporations tutorial for you guys. The corporations tutorial is going to be serve is going to serve hand-in-hand with the next economic tutorial because the economic tutorial that I have on the channel as of right now is pretty outdated. It is pretty big uh There have been a lot of changes with the economy especially, you know, obviously in terms of the corporations. So, I am pretty excited to get on the move with these projects and as well obviously the US will continue. I'm not dropping that series as I did as I had to do with Vietnam.

[00:11:41]Um and we actually also do have some big news coming soon. I might have some new spicy content for you guys whenever it comes to the future of the GPS franchise.
