This video highlights the bizarre biological irony of a parasite that can involuntarily turn a population vegetarian with a single bite. It is a concise warning about how shifting ecosystems are bringing niche health threats into the global mainstream.

Meat-Allergy Tick Is Heading To Britain
Added:Hello there.
Well, the next big health scare is that of the bug that can bite you and turn you into a vegetarian.
>> [music] >> Yes, there is such a thing.
There is a bug out there that when it bites you according to reports coming out it can turn you into a vegetarian.
And this is the lone star bug.
It's a tick that lives in I don't know grasslands and areas where you walk through and you can brush past things and pick these ticks up. But at the moment this seems to be in America not yet in Britain.
Now, this thing is the Amblyomma americanum. That's what it's called.
And it carries um an alpha-gal molecule in its saliva.
And when it bites you, this passes on to you.
And within a few weeks you can develop this um alpha-gal syndrome.
Which means that you become allergic to red meat and dairy products.
Now, that is not an American thing, is it?
Fancy being allergic to one of their big rare steaks.
And it also carries I don't know if it's the same thing.
It's human monocytic ehrlichiosis.
Or another one it carries is Rocky Mountain spotted fever.
And it only takes a few weeks for this to develop.
And if anything isn't done about it, if you don't treat it, it can be fatal.
Now, why do I mention this?
Well, it turns out that over the last few weeks I've been reading about boxes of these ticks being found or supposedly being found in fields.
Some even report having seen them dropped by airplane or helicopter into various areas and you're thinking, "Who on earth would want to do that?"
Well, I know quite a few greenies and vegans who would like to see that sort of thing happen.
They would love that, wouldn't they?
Suddenly, the whole planet of humans allergic to eating meat.
Spread the ticks around, get people allergic to meat eating.
Now, I did a bit more research into this and it seems that antibiotics can do the trick and cure this if it's caught early.
But, I don't know whether the meat eating or the allergy to meat eating is a permanent one or not.
And also, there are reports that you can eat chicken and stuff like that instead and fish.
So, I don't know.
But, it does seem a bit strange that boxes of these things seem to be being found all over the place, doesn't it?
I mean, if you if there was a a push out there by the um powers that be to stop us eating meat then developing something like this they wouldn't want to send ticks out now, would they?
They want to see what the reactions are and then get into one of their many many bio-labs and uh start doing it that way.
Producing chemicals weaning us off of red meat whatever the repercussions for us.
Doesn't sound fair, does it, really?
And of course, they wouldn't tell us about it. They'd just do it, wouldn't they?
Just get on and do it.
Now, as you can see around me um it's a pretty foggy day or misty, should I say? It's not exactly a fog.
So, uh yeah.
Still very nice. It's still It's a dog barking in the distance.
But no one else around as far as I can see, anyway. Anyway.
So people walking out into the countryside in America don't stray into areas of grass and and foliage that can scrape against your trousers cuz I gather that's how they make their way in. Grab your trousers and then get inside your trousers, inside your socks.
So, tuck your trousers into your socks when you're in out and about.
And carry some of that um tick spray that's so readily available.
I wonder how long it will be before we have to follow that sort of advice in the UK.
Because whatever goes in America always ends up in the UK, doesn't it?
I think I'll go this way.
So, you'll be out and about in the countryside where the cows are wondering if you're going to get bitten by a tick that stops you eating meat forevermore.
Yeah, as I said, I don't know if it's a permanent thing or whether it's just temporary and it can be treated.
Um that seems to be the indications for the other two like Rocky Mountain fever.
Spotted fever cuz you come out in loads of spots.
That seems to be curable if caught quickly.
And that's carried by the Lone Star tick as many well as many others.
And ticks of course carry Lyme disease.
So, it's as well to be protected against them. Anyway, in the UK.
So, what do you think?
Do you think that there is a that some government or private organization you know, I don't know like Bill Gates' organization would do something like this. I'm sure he wouldn't.
I'm sure he would never dream of doing such a thing.
Trying to manipulate the planet into rejecting red meat somehow.
>> [snorts] >> Cuz of course the aim, the ultimate aim of course is to um stop the eating of red meat so that then we don't need so many cattle.
Then we can start slaughtering cattle by the million across the globe.
Get rid of them all.
Fewer farts.
Global warming goes down.
And that's the whole excuse for it anyway.
You know, it's quite funny that uh when the Europeans went across to America and Canada, places like that.
When they first got over there, the place was teeming with bison.
Like cows but bigger.
So they started to shoot them all.
And at the time and I think even historically it's looked at as some sort of ecological crime, isn't it?
Shooting all the bison in America.
Now it would be seen as saving the planet.
Funny how things change, isn't it?
>> Still, you know, we can still eat carrots, can't we?
Onions, turnips, and other such a luscious vegetables.
Although, I'm partial to roast parsnips with my roast duck.
And some new a few roast potatoes.
You know, those ones that you bung in the oven that are already pre-done with duck fat. Lovely.
Anyway, we keep hearing about these sorts of conspiracy theories, don't we?
And some of them turn out to be factual in some form or another.
So, I'm wondering whether this particular one will turn out to be factual in some form or another.
We might find out that yes, we are researching into training humans and their bodies not to eat red meat.
But, I wonder what damage that will do to us.
But, there again, that's just collateral damage for the planet, isn't it?
That's the way the greenies view it.
The eco loons view the whole thing as humans being collateral damage to save the planet.
If it costs a few of us our health, they don't care.
They have absolutely no bother with that at all.
Me, I shall carry on eating red meat and dairy for as long as I can.
And I'll eat it when I want in every, whatever quantity I want.
That is my right.
That's the way I view it.
So, put in the comments below, please, what you prefer.
How do you like your red meat done?
Or are you a greenie who wants to see all red meat-eating activity stopped?
Who wants to see only green vegetables and seaweed on the menu?
Are snails acceptable?
Are they part of our diet?
Sea snails, mollusks, and the like.
Please let us know.
And now, please like, subscribe, and comment below, and I'll see you all later.
Ta-ta for now.
