I Finally Visited My Wife’s Rural Home | Zimbabwe Village JourneyAdded:
[music] >> Sometimes life moves so fast, [music] we forget where we come from.
>> [crying] [crying] >> The city teaches survival, but the village teaches identity.
Today, we are leaving Chinhoyi. [music] >> [music] >> We are traveling through Karoi, deep into Murongwe, to visit my wife's grandparents in Karuru.
For our children, this is more than just a journey.
It is a return to their roots.
>> [laughter] [laughter] [gasps] >> Oh.
Eight. Eight dollars?
No, no, no. 8 All right.
All right.
My neighbors Sarira.
All right.
Sorry. Sorry.
I'm here.
Find out if you can get to the car to hike.
So, we are wondering if we can get a and enjoy the night low and the baby.
Yeah, it's okay. So, there is a bus coming. Let's see.
We're going to get a bus.
Hello.
Hello, how are you? Fine, >> [singing and music] >> Zimbabwe. Let's go, yeah.
Hit that subscribe. [music] Don't leave.
Every road in sacrifice, and family.
For many families, rural homes remain the foundation, even after years in towns and cities.
>> [music] [singing] >> As we leave Chinoyi behind, the landscape slowly begins to change.
>> [music] [music] [music and singing] [music] >> The further we travel, the quieter life becomes. Out here, there are no further traffic lights, no shopping malls, no noise from the city, only land, only people trying to survive, only memories waiting to be remembered.
>> [singing] [music] [music] >> Hit subscribe.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Everything nice.
>> [music and singing] [singing] [music] [singing] [music] [singing] [music and singing] [music] [music and singing] [music] >> This is our interesting journey from Chinhoyi to Karoi. So that we can go to Karuru.
Uh we are now in Karoi zone.
Uh those who are familiar with this road, Harare-Chirundu Highway, uh they know the type of bus that goes to Puma.
Then now this is uh the road that is going to Flamboyant Park.
And here we are just about to approach the town. Here there's a Champions Lodge for those people who want accommodation when they are coming to Karoi. You can turn from on this left road that we passed through. Champions Lodge, yeah, it's one of the best lodges in Karoi. You can connect so that you enjoy your stay in Karoi comfortably.
Then let's go. I want to show you our town as we are passing through it. This is a farming town, Karoi. When when there is no good rains, when there is no good market for the products for the for the it means Karoi will be down.
Like what is happening in 2026, I think from 2020 4 to 2025 there was a a big drought.
Um in fact uh it was not just good for for for for local farmers, but for maize and then then tobacco. Then 2026 uh we received the good rains. But unfortunately the market is is not doing well with farmers, so they are they're struggling. So the market for other products in Karoi is not that exactly with the what happens in every year.
But we know that we are so resilient. We find ways to survive.
This is Karoi town.
>> [music] [music] >> Karoi in Zimbabwe [singing] in the corner >> [music] >> mekuru yakafara >> [music and singing] >> Karoi a place of opportunity >> [music] >> a vast field of rich resources look here there's beer we [music] are one in Karoi >> [music] >> fashion never knew >> [music] [singing] [music] [singing] [music] [music] [music] >> We are so excited that we are in now in Karoi. So, we want to go and find a transport but but before we go and get a transport, we need to buy a small grocery for our gogo and say cool.
