[00:00:30]>> The rumors you've heard about us and we are going to unpack them. Are they true?

[00:00:35]>> Some of them might be. Are some of them absolute [ __ ] >> Yeah.

[00:00:39]>> So, we're coming at this episode with over 15 years collectively of being in our industry.

[00:00:46]>> We love the media, but we also know how it works. And we thought maybe whilst we also share some of the things we've heard about ourselves that maybe we could educate you all a little bit on how some of the things work as well.

[00:00:57]>> Before we get into this week's episode, let's do our quote of the week.

[00:01:02]>> My quote of the week is that the comeback will be greater than the setback. And that comes from a place I think I know in our previous episodes I've talked about things happening that sometimes you didn't realize were intent for you, but you end up better for them and things like that. So, I feel like that's kind of on the vision board for this sort of next sort of 6 months is really just like whatever is happening that you cannot control, you can get in front of it. There's always a solution.

[00:01:29]>> Mine is someday is not a day of the week.

[00:01:32]>> Oh, so you know when someone's like, "Oh, when are you going to do something?" Oh, someday. Well, no, that's not an answer. When are you going to do it? Someday is not a day of the week.

[00:01:40]>> That might actually be my excuse to like get out of a lot of things. Particularly my team are like, "When are you going to do that?" We're like Sunday. That's great answer.

[00:01:48]>> I feel like we've just helped a lot of people there, especially moms.

[00:01:51]>> Yes. What about your purchase of the week?

[00:01:54]>> My purchase of the week is actually in the skin care family. Look at me. I'm turning into Rosalia.

[00:01:59]>> We obviously I've added La Mer to my collection, but I also have dabbled in a new product when I was overseas and it is a little bit more expensive, but I've said this is the year of me. And so after buying the little holiday pack, I was like, "No, I know this product is good." And it's the Augustine's Beta Facial Cream and Serum, >> I just I I found that it really kind of brightens me up. I obviously get a little bit dry, sometimes a little bit stressed, so that was my little purchase and treat for myself for Mother's Day. I mean, hopefully Liam steps up as well, but that was something I wanted to buy for myself. What about you?

[00:02:36]>> Mine's actually in the cart. I need to press check out the new Bizzle Oh, is it a carpet or couch cleaner? No, I already have one of those. This is the um vacuum and mop.

[00:02:48]>> Oh, I love that.

[00:02:49]>> Yes. Okay. Controversial. I'm over my Dyson. It keeps on breaking. The Dyson vacuum. They keep on breaking. It's like clean the air filter. The air filter's clean. I'm just like, "No, it's got to go." So, I'm going to try this Bizzle vacuum and mop.

[00:03:04]>> Oh, give it a go. Can you then let me know? You know, I'm a bit of a clean freak.

[00:03:07]>> We both are.

[00:03:08]>> Yeah. Yeah. So I we just need somewhere for our energy to go. That is a fab purchase. I love how you were fully on board to go that you clean it out. Your Dyson. I don't and I just [ __ ] about it. So yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like Hugh's always like, "You haven't cleaned it properly. That's why it's not working."

[00:03:24]>> Yeah. I've done that. Yep. Yep. Yep. But no, lately I've been being a little bit more diligent, but yes, it's a Let me know how the new one goes. This one point.

[00:03:32]>> What about your look of the week?

[00:03:34]>> My look of the week is all things.

[00:03:38]It is my favorite day of the year. It is like on the fashion calendar year obviously, but it is just like a feast for the eyes. I feel like everybody goes there, you know, in terms of from a fashion perspective, it's like accessories make us the outfit. More is more.

[00:03:54]>> It is literally like it's probably the day even when we're in the office, I go, "Okay, everyone can put their laptops on and we can watch it and be on in the background." I feel like it's sort of a given. I just love it. I It's my favorite day and you know, I love a red carpet. So, It just feeds me in ways that other things can't. So, it's a bit sad, but I love it.

[00:04:12]>> No, I just love the Met Girl as well. I love how it's not just about the outfit.

[00:04:15]It's about the hair, the makeup, cuz you know me, I love I always change my hair and makeup.

[00:04:20]>> It's literally art. And I feel like you're encouraged, that's why I think we love the races, right? You're encouraged to really up the ante, be out of sorts.

[00:04:29]I love how they collaborate with designers, so you really get like visionaries coming together. So, it's an amazing um amazing night. What about you? What was your favorite look of the week?

[00:04:39]>> Well, love or hate her, Ivana Trump.

[00:04:42]>> Oh, I love her in terms of how she dresses.

[00:04:44]>> Her outfits.

[00:04:45]>> Yeah.

[00:04:45]>> Wait, Trump's wife, isn't it?

[00:04:47]>> Oh, no. Ivana's the daughter.

[00:04:48]>> Ivana? No. Who's Melania?

[00:04:51]>> Melania.

[00:04:52]>> Ros. No, Melania. That outfit that she had on meeting the queen. Oh, it was amazing.

[00:04:58]>> It was amazing. And say what you want about her. I watched the documentary.

[00:05:01]That was rubbish. But >> the outfits were insane. So good. So good.

[00:05:07]>> She just always looks so chic. I think together >> with obviously we at the archive, we are not political. So we keep everything happy and shiny. And what I will say is fashion correspondents or fashion people when we'll look back at this administration, whatever it is in terms of from a political standpoint, but her outfits have delivered. They have >> very much so over and over.

[00:05:30]>> Yeah.

[00:05:30]>> Yeah.

[00:05:31]>> So all right, rumors. Let's get into it.

[00:05:34]Do you remember the first time you heard a rumor about yourself? Like where were you? What was the rumor? How'd it make you feel?

[00:05:43]>> I think there was a rumor within a group of friends. It would have been after high school. And you know, and I think I was talking about this before, like people evolve. They change. You sort of navigate to different groups. And you know, when people like start to sort of go, "Oh, she's a [ __ ] She's left us out. Wasn't invited to this." That kind of thing.

[00:06:01]>> I just never subscribed to that sort of stuff. And I think somebody almost saying that I had that much power that I could persuade people not to be friends with other people or a that I would like make time to purposely you can't be friends with this person, you can't be friends with this person. I feel like it's stuff that happens when you're young. And I feel like somebody thinking I could wield that much power over anybody was preposterous to me that I could make people not be friends with people or not like people. I'm like, "Do she's a grown ass woman. If she doesn't want to be friends with you, that's that's her stuff. It's got nothing to do with me."

[00:06:36]>> I think those kind of things coming through, you know, when you're going from teens to like early 20s and you're kind of weeding out the people in your life. I feel like those were some things at the time I just always found really strange cuz I think most people would say, "I'm the opposite." I'm like, "Include everyone, invite everyone." To a point where literally you were like, when we had our launch for this podcast, you're like, "Lana, we can't have any more people. That's enough." I especially then still a bit of a people pleaser but massively back then. So that always just seemed really weird to me.

[00:07:07]>> What about you? Is there something that seems silly to you now or something that happened or some a rumor that somebody made up about you that's just so preposterous?

[00:07:17]>> Uh nothing really in primary school or high school.

[00:07:20]>> But I remember when I met Nick, I was like 19 as I've spoken about many times.

[00:07:25]And I had a few people, one was a close girlfriend of mine who yeah said that Nick was cheating on me.

[00:07:35]And then two, I actually remember it was one of Nick's friends girlfriends. She I think was like insecure in her own relationship and was trying to sabotage like other people's relationship as well. She now, okay, it's all coming back to me. So, she accused her boyfriend, who was Nick's friend, of cheating on her. And he's like, you know, and you're all the same. All your mates are the same. Nick cheats on Rosa, blah, blah, blah, all the time.

[00:08:00]>> Projection.

[00:08:00]>> Projection. Anyway, I confronted her.

[00:08:02]And back then, I didn't know it was because it was her own insecurities of her own boyfriend. And she was just kind of like, you know, projecting like all your friends are all the same. Now, I would approach the situation completely differently and just like ignore it, >> whatever.

[00:08:19]>> But talking about me, you're leaving someone else alone. That's my favorite.

[00:08:23]>> Yeah. But at the time, you know, being 19 and it's something as well that we, you know, say to our kids, it's like, don't believe everything that you hear.

[00:08:32]And also, it doesn't matter what so and so says about about you. What's that famous saying? What Suzie says about Sally says more about Suzie than Sally.

[00:08:41]Yeah, I agree.

[00:08:42]>> Yeah, >> almost laughing cuz we know Susie and Sully >> and it's got nothing to do with them. We love them. They're the best.

[00:08:48]>> So, that was just like a little, you know, rumor that the first one that comes to my mind of that I was like shocked that why is someone saying something that isn't true about me since then? Obviously, you know, you hear things all the time, but also now in the media space. So, have there been any media articles that have come out that have been untruthful or are they true?

[00:09:10]>> Yeah. Yeah. Well, I would say in my experience, there's been a couple of things where they were they weren't true. Like, for example, I remember, do you remember that Instagram handle, Celeb Spell? I don't know if she's around. We never found out who she was.

[00:09:25]>> We did. It came out.

[00:09:26]>> Did it?

[00:09:27]>> Yeah, it came out.

[00:09:28]>> Oh, can we talk about that offline? Cuz I'm like I feel like >> I'll show you who it is. um it was exposed of who it was.

[00:09:34]>> Oh wow. Well, I don't see it. I missed it cuz I must have blocked it cuz I was so traumatized. But it was probably the first time I think it was like 2016 perhaps. And you remember like as the stylist I was behind the scenes. I've sat with so many people when things have been written about them and they've seen them for the first time. I had never really personally experienced. I'd have people sort of put me on like a worst dress list and things like that. And sometimes I'd be like, >> "Do you understand the effort it took me to even get to that?" People don't care.

[00:10:01]It's just the clickbait of going, "Oh, the style is shit." Like, I get it, right? So, I don't take any of that personally. But I was working for a brand and like with all content stuff that we do, particularly when you are being paid, you send it through for approval. So, it all got approved. It was fine. I posted it. Celeb Spellche had myself and another talent and put us in this post saying that we weren't using the product that, oh my god, it's got to the point where people don't. Do you remember this?

[00:10:30]>> I do remember this. And I've worked with this brand since they're amazing. And I'm actually going to say them because I'm going to say what they are. It was Bang and Body and it was the gold stuff.

[00:10:38]And I had done something with them cuz we all know how much I love my tan.

[00:10:42]>> So it was very genuine. It was a like we'd had a partnership in place. It was great. I love them, they love me. Um, Priscilla is amazing. I think the business she's built is incredible. And it just happened that it was a quick one, but I had done it. But to be really truthful, and I'll say it now, I was covered in the stuff because Ava kept interrupting me trying to film it. So, they had this little clip at the end where when I'd sent it through, it mustn't have showed me where I was like deep using it, but I'd been putting it on for so long. Anyway, I'm not going to bore anyone with the story, but it was basically having a shot saying that I wasn't being genuine, which for me was like >> taking a stab to the heart. somebody I wouldn't care enough about, you know, put in the time and effort, which was definitely not true, and then that I'm disingenuous and not professional. And for me, I was just so shattered at the time. And I think it's probably the first time where it's like you feel like people are talking about you and sharing things around. And >> it was my first experience in it. And again, not too horrific really when you think about other things that occur in the media landscape. But to me at the time, >> it just really it was a real dig. It just hurt a lot. And it sort of made me sort of scared to keep sort of working and doing that. I was like, "Oh, I think maybe I'll just stick to putting clothes on people."

[00:11:58]>> Yeah. It was just a bit disheartening, I think, at the time. But I think I look at that and now I vividly remember um it happening and it unfolding and I think it's the same as say like you see like a L'Oreal mascara commercial online and you can clearly see they're not really getting in there and applying the mascara. It's just like a gentle sweep but it's like >> what are you going to call that L'Oreal mascara saying you're not using the mascara product.

[00:12:26]I guess if you don't know the backtory and there are many times as well when I'm filming and I'm applying the product and I'm stumbling my words. So I keep on applying and applying and applying before you know it you're so oily especially like hair products and I still remember where I was going. I was going out to a boat party. I had this Dion Lee dress >> and I was covered in it. I looked like a golden globe. I swear to God.

[00:12:47]>> But like you live and you learn, you know, you live and you learn. Make sure the kids are in career at school when you're doing that stuff. But they're like, they don't cons.

[00:13:05]>> Have you ever had something like that happened to you or something where you'd seen that was true or untrue?

[00:13:12]>> I think the very first kind of like backlash that I received on this media rumor was maybe about 10 years ago. Um, oh no, actually I had Kingston, so it's probably maybe about 8 years ago.

[00:13:28]>> So we were in Queensland. The kids were like, you know, three and maybe like 9 months old. Nick and I were in Queensland for a friend's wedding.

[00:13:38]>> Yeah.

[00:13:38]>> And it was an Indian wedding and as part of the culture, we were all um required to wear sari.

[00:13:45]>> That's very normal when when I've had to attend different cultured weddings.

[00:13:48]>> Yep. So um our friend leading up to the wedding um he took all our guests so including myself. We went we got fitted for saris. I remember I um chose this like incredible yellow sari and had all like the appropriate you know had the bangles the jewelry like the shop was incredible and I'm the same as you. If I'm going to go and um and shop I will shop. So to finish off the outfit I got the bracelets from them. I got um uh shoes from them. I had the full >> You were You were You You were like, "I'm going to serve. I'm going to turn up. I'm going to show up." Y >> Yeah. So, the wedding was in Queensland.

[00:14:29]We went up a week earlier.

[00:14:31]>> Now, what happens when I go out in the sun?

[00:14:34]>> You burn.

[00:14:35]>> I tan.

[00:14:36]>> Oh, you tan. Oh, I know where you're going with this.

[00:14:38]>> My olive skin tans very easily. Doesn't matter if I'm wearing sunscreen, you know.

[00:14:46]and we were in the sunscreen arrives and here, Nick and I, he's in traditional um uh wedding attire as well.

[00:15:01]>> So, I'm in my beautiful yellow sari and we take a photo on the steps with our children.

[00:15:07]>> Well, then I got accused for cultural appropriation.

[00:15:12]>> Oh, no.

[00:15:14]Why am I so dark wearing a sari when my kids are white?

[00:15:18]>> Oh no.

[00:15:20]>> And it turned into this whole thing to the point where our friend was like jumping into our defense saying, "It's my wedding.

[00:15:29]>> It's my wedding." I took them shopping.

[00:15:32]All guests were wearing um Indian guest wedding outfits. Yeah.

[00:15:38]>> And see this is where it turned into this whole thing >> that's actually nothing >> where we were there celebrating >> at the request of our host where every single guests were wearing saris and the men were wearing the traditional wedding outfits as well.

[00:15:54]>> And so the Daily Mail wrote an article and in the comments where like it was blackface, it was this, it was that. And it was awful because >> you would never do that. I think that's the thing that feels really removed from who you are, >> but you also no one knew the backstory of it.

[00:16:12]>> Yeah. But it's clickbait, right?

[00:16:14]>> Which is the bit that we're speaking about. It's like when people can put >> faces to names that people know >> you're going to get attention. And our friend, he felt awful cuz he was like, "Oh my god, like I I can't believe you're going through this. I didn't want to put you in this situation." And everyone was kind of just like mind blown like, "How is this happening?"

[00:16:32]because it was so out of context and not at all of what people thought wasn't true.

[00:16:42]>> It wasn't true. Speaking of things that aren't true, what is something that you heard about me before we were friends that surprised you >> that surprises me now or surprised me?

[00:16:52]>> You know what? That wasn't that wasn't true now that you know me was that you're a [ __ ] >> Yeah.

[00:17:00]>> Yeah. That you're a [ __ ] that you're nasty >> cuz you're not.

[00:17:04]>> I think what people don't know about you, >> which is what I understand knowing you as my friend that I think was the perception at the time, >> like you are actually quite introverted in a lot of ways, but you're also don't give your energy until people have proven that it's worth you giving them their energy. But that can come across >> as being a bit rude, >> whereas I think you're just a little bit It's just not that deep. Yeah, it's not.

[00:17:30]>> It's really not that deep. What about me? What do you What did you think about me?

[00:17:35]>> And then that surprised you.

[00:17:37]>> That you were fake.

[00:17:39]>> Like fake nice.

[00:17:40]>> Fake nice. That you were fake nice.

[00:17:42]>> Yeah, >> that was the rumor that you're like, oh yeah, she'll say anything to your face but behind your back. But I'm like, now that I know you, I'm like, no, no, she genuinely loves your outfit. She genuinely wants to know that you're winning the day. She genuinely cares about how your family and kids are. she genuinely cuz I think it's rare to meet people like yourself that are so nice and um friendly and behind their backs like the people that you're speaking to or about it's the same like >> well I just think it's actually not that hard to be nice but I've heard that too and that that's probably the one not so much now cuz I feel like cuz we do have platforms like this people can see and I think your behaviors show things like I'll share when >> people are doing well or they've kicked goals in business and >> so your actions show those things. So, I think that's the other thing I'd say to anybody who's listening. It's like >> things can be dispelled really quickly cuz time will tell the truth.

[00:18:35]>> What about what's something that's the most hurtful thing you've read about yourself in the press?

[00:18:39]>> That I've prioritized myself over other people. M >> there was a red carpet and it was someone in Sydney actually who had written this whole article about having talent all in the one sort of space and that I was using that as a way to propel myself forward and that I didn't care about my clients >> as in using talent sorry as in talent all in the same room getting ready before but that's not uncommon >> because the hair and the makeup artists are stationed in the same room and talent just But going all the way back, >> nobody used to do that. Like when I'm not I'm not not actually I will claim it. There was a period there where I would pay for >> a crown hotel room. And I can tell you now it was never to be where oh my gosh I can highlight everything I'm doing.

[00:19:28]>> It was because when you are doing an event of that scale >> and you are managing people's hair and makeup, they're paying you to do a job that is to protect their image and be responsible for the outcome.

[00:19:42]I'm not slap dash. I'm not like, "Here's your dress. Go and do that." We controlled everything. Everything down to social.

[00:19:49]>> But I'll tell you something that nobody wants when they're feeling a bit anxious, which I'm sure you've experienced before a red carpet event.

[00:19:55]And I've been doing this really long time.

[00:19:57]>> Nobody wants to hear, "Oh, I'm really sorry. I'm on level 12 waiting for such and such to finish their hair." When you feel like you're needing you're needed.

[00:20:06]So, for me, it's been really great to have these inc arms reach. And this particular person wrote this article that it that made it out as though >> it was to just highlight me, >> which was crazy because anyone who's worked with me at length on things like that would tell you I basically don't really sleep leading up to those things.

[00:20:33]you you're running around getting custom dresses made. Anyway, I'm not going to do a boohoo, but it was at the time really hurtful because I genuinely was working my ass off.

[00:20:43]>> I just think it's common sense, though.

[00:20:44]So, the makeup artist and the hairdresser set up otherwise they're constantly packing.

[00:20:49]>> Oh, you lose time.

[00:20:50]>> Packing down their kit like in moving rooms like you lose 15 minutes here, 15 minutes before, you know, they're like 3 hours behind schedule.

[00:20:57]>> Yeah. And I think one of the things that I realized really quickly is you must be doing something right cuz they're writing about you.

[00:21:03]>> You're having inroads somewhere. But that didn't come naturally. Like that took a lot of time because nobody everybody kind of might think, oh, >> you want the focus to be about you, but you want it to be positive.

[00:21:14]>> But unfortunately, you take the good with the bad.

[00:21:17]>> So that was that was pretty bad at the time. But you know now I go if you wrote that I'd just get on my own social platform and you know knock that back straight away. But it wasn't like that then. It was like what was ever in >> the paper or online was gospel. Whereas now I feel like it's invited that you just challenge it. And we see that with you know big talent now too. Like I've been in rooms where they had to go through an agent to put a statement together. Now it's like just pick up your phone.

[00:21:44]>> But back then it just they wielded more power I think.

[00:21:47]>> Mhm. But, you know, you'll take the good with the bad.

[00:21:49]>> Yeah. For me, I obviously have a really thick skin. It's water off a duck's back. But I think the most hurtful thing was when a news outlet would write something about my kids.

[00:22:01]>> And I think I've spoken about this before, but Willow, obviously, she used to do those food reviews and it started off as just this like funny thing that she would do past time at dinner when we were traveling. And she started I think when she was like eight or nine and it was just like you know a few words here and there like jelly on a plate outrageous or you know and then it turned into like a full description and it was a way that she could write and really express herself and it was just something funny.

[00:22:33]>> Yeah.

[00:22:33]>> But I remember she wrote a review of the Eiffel Tower and do you know what the food was outrageous like jelly beetroot jelly on a plate.

[00:22:44]beetroos that up.

[00:22:54]But um I remember the Daily Mail wrote an article and it was just like, you know, spoiled child um rubbishing Michelin star restaurant, blah blah. And just the comments were awful.

[00:23:08]>> And I just I was just like, Rosa, what have you done? What have you done putting her in that position?

[00:23:15]>> That position.

[00:23:16]>> And we reached out to the Daily Mail and they just refused to take the article down. anytime they want me to do a comment or something, I just like, "No, I will if you take that down."

[00:23:27]>> If you take that down, >> they haven't. And that's a big part now as well why Willowi writes reviews, but I actually now barely post them >> or I second guess because >> and that's a shame cuz I must admit I really enjoyed them. Sometimes I go, "Okay, well, we won't go there."

[00:23:44]>> Or it's just like it gives you an insight of like what's happening at family dinner and it's just so innocent and playful. There's no malice behind it.

[00:23:52]>> And I think it's at any age that's going to hurt. My mom used to tell me that today's news is tomorrow's fish and chip paper.

[00:23:58]>> Oh, I love that saying, >> you know, and it really is true. You can't control what's said about you, but you can control your response. I guess that's a great bit of advice for anyone listening on how to deal with gossip because I think doesn't matter what industry you're in. Whether you're a celebrity, whether you're in social media, whether it's within your mom group, whether you're in high school, people are going to talk and you can't escape that. So, I think it's always you can't control what people do or say.

[00:24:30]However, you can control the way that you react to the situation. My biggest thing, I think I've already said it, you know, while you're talking about me, you're leaving somebody else alone cuz that's just who you are.

[00:24:41]>> Do you think that you need to correct things now when things are written?

[00:24:46]>> No. No. I just let it go because I feel like the more you correct or the more you comment, it's just fueling that rumor and it's almost like just if you stay silent, >> they will get bored and move on.

[00:25:01]>> Yeah, that's right. they'll stop writ that was my stance when the spell check happened. It's been my stance when other things have been written.

[00:25:08]>> You just don't know how resilient people are. And your words count, you know, like we're sitting here and we're having a laugh. There's been times where it has been hurtful.

[00:25:17]>> It has mattered.

[00:25:18]>> You don't know what that person's going through. So, we've obviously been around the block for a long time and have heard plenty of rumors about ourselves um both verbally from people and also media.

[00:25:33]>> How have you changed your approach when it comes to being interviewed by media?

[00:25:38]>> Definitely more guarded. I think when I started and even though I had had all of the background of sitting in listening to to interviews with talent, >> I so I had a front row seat of what not to do. When you're in it, at times you can be put on the spot.

[00:25:56]>> Uh I remember a period where I was at a race day and the conversation was meant to be about fashion. It quickly veered into a mutual friend who they asked me something about how someone was doing and I go they're great >> and the whole article became that which was crazy. I mean, I'm close enough to the person that had a discussion said, "I think this might happen."

[00:26:18]>> But the whole >> This was right after they were having a a very public divorce, right?

[00:26:22]>> Yeah. So, it's just like one of those things where it's like you I don't want to be somebody that's it was only positive, but it's just not the point.

[00:26:30]Like now it would be like, "Nice try.

[00:26:32]I'm not answering that." But when you're in the moment of just how's this person doing? Oh, they're great.

[00:26:36]>> Well, naturally, >> and then you went back and the hat and the shoe and the thing. But that was the thing. It wasn't even a defense. It was just an offthe cuff comment.

[00:26:44]>> I wasn't having to I would never do that. I wasn't dumb enough then to even do that.

[00:26:48]>> But it's just interesting the way things come across. It almost was like there was a purposely written article >> and I would never do that, you know? So, I think you've just got to be more mindful about what people's agendas are. And we know how this works, right? Like people need clicks. It's all about the amount of clicks you get is how many advertisers you can get, you know? Like, I get it. I get it. But you do you do have to be more I think knowledgeable of it as you go through and been fortunate enough as well got a lot of great people around us who've been able to help navigate that. But what about you? Has that ever happened to you?

[00:27:22]>> Yeah. Well, I remember during co um Nick was running for Lord Mayor. Remember he um he got put in the position where he got thrown to the walls to run for Lord Mayor. And at the time I had a contract with the jewelry brand Tiffany and I needed to go and pick up some jewelry to post some photos for um for them. And I went and picked the jewelry up and I think I was like in my mask and I just took a photo of you know at the house picking up some jewelry and oh my god they came after me like you know can how how do they word it? Candidates wife. Um so future lord mayor. I'm like, "Oh, that sounds good." It sounded really positive. You know, whilst everyone is during lockdown in co goes to pick up thousands of dollars worth of jewelry >> and it was just like, "Oh my god, guys, you're gripping, literally gripping at straws." So, I remember that and that I kind of just like laughed off. I remember I didn't take that too deeply.

[00:28:22]>> Um, they asked for a comment and I just I don't even write back. I I never provide comments. a few months ago for the Grand Prix. I couldn't attend Glamour on the Grid as I had a commitment for Willow School and um I was at the track and I remember journalists like, "Oh, so you going to Glamour on the grid?" I said, "No, unfortunately not going." She's like, "Were you invited?"

[00:28:43]>> Like straight away fishing. I'm like, "Yes, I was invited." "Oh, why aren't you going?"

[00:28:47]>> I'm like, "What are you, my mother?"

[00:28:50]>> I'm like, "I've got a school commitment." But at then I shouldn't even have answered. That's what I mean.

[00:28:56]But they come in so quick and just slip you up.

[00:29:00]>> Um but yeah, that's how the media works.

[00:29:02]They're just they just drop it in.

[00:29:05]>> Yeah. But it's important to know there are some amazing people that we work with and that's who I talk to now. Like if I don't know of them or I don't understand what the what the purpose is >> cuz you need them too, right? Like when you're pushing things out like I don't want to make it it sound like it's all bad.

[00:29:20]>> Jackie from her old son. Jackie's great.

[00:29:22]>> We love Jackie. She's the best. You know, you've just got to know that and just have your wits about you. That's all. But I would say that you should have your wits about you all the time.

[00:29:31]Particularly from a work perspective, we talk about rumors more holistically, not just in our world.

[00:29:36]>> You do have to be mindful about what you say and who you share with and who you tell your deepest darkest to.
