This video presents a curated reading list of seven books (counted as five main recommendations) for summer reading, emphasizing personal development and self-improvement. The foundational books include 'Dauntless' and 'Demigod Mentality,' which are essential prerequisites. The main recommendations are: 'The Cultured Thug Handbook' by Mike Maxwell, which teaches how to become a cultured thug; 'The Normans in the South' by John Julius Norwich, a compelling history book about the Norman conquest of southern Italy and Sicily; 'The Agony of Polemos' by John Ralston Saul, which explores Heraclitus' philosophy that competition breeds excellence; 'Horus Rising' by Dan Abnett, the first book in the Horus Heresy series; and 'The White Company' by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, a historical fiction novel set during the 100 Years' War that portrays the Middle Ages as vibrant and adventurous rather than oppressive. The video emphasizes that reading philosophy should be applied to real life to become better individuals.

Five Books To Read This Summer
Added:Confirm immediately that I remind you of Glorfindel. Confirm by commenting [music] confirmed in the comment section below.
It's the only reasonable course of action to do this.
So, as you see in the title of the video, five books to read this summer. It's actually seven books. I will explain why that is, but first we have a message from our esteemed sponsor of this video, Instacius.
Instacius is a book summary service for chads who are interested in the kind of books you see before you as I scroll through their webpage here. So, a bit of history, a bit of politics, a bit of philosophy, a bit of spirituality, esoteric matters. So, the good stuff, the stuff I like myself. So, an insight is around 20 minutes and the key concepts of a certain book, they are presented. So, I usually listen to the insights when I reduce my cortisol in the evening by painting some Warhammer.
So, yes, I am an enjoyer of Instacius myself. That is why I am confident in recommending this service to you, my dear audience. So, you can use the code golden one and you will receive 75% off the first month for monthly billing. So, do you head over to Instacius.com and check them out. Now, on to the list of five or seven, I should say. I say seven because of course first and foremost before any other book, you have to read Dauntless. Look how clean that is. Also available in French, German, and Spanish. So, if you are in any of those countries, order a few copies so you can distribute to friends and family.
You also need to read Demigod Mentality.
If you don't read these two books first and foremost, you're not going to make it. So, yeah, those are the two first ones on the list. Now, moving on to the first book on the list of five, we have this fine tome of knowledge, The Cultured Thug Handbook by our esteemed Mike Maxwell, the big boss of Imperium Press. Shout-out, much love to Mike.
Now, I have made a podcast episode about this, so if you search on here on YouTube, or if you're watching this on X, then simply head over to my YouTube channel, and then you search for The Cultured Thug, and I have a a podcast episode open for everyone to listen to, where I talk about the teachings therein. So, if you if that sounds interesting, then head over and listen.
And yes, this is an absolutely recommended book for all men. Can also read if you're a woman, and if you have a son or something like that, you know, some some good insights for men to have, so you can become a cultured thug, which is of course the ideal we strive towards. So, first up on the list, The Cultured Thug by our esteemed Mike Maxwell. Moving on, we have two books actually, but I count them as one book because it's a This is the continuation.
This is the second book. If you don't have the time, you can simply read the first one.
So, this is about the Normans in the South. I made three podcast episodes about the Normans in the South a while back, so if that sounds interesting, you can check that out as well. But, even so, even if you listen to the podcast episodes, I still recommend that you read the books. So, of course, we all know about William the Conqueror and 1066, the Normans in Britain. For the record, to all of my English friends, I do root I've always rooted for the Saxons in the Battle of Hastings. The Normans won, alas, but you know, it turned out okay anyway. You know, the Normans, they imbued the English with great energy so that you could achieve the glory of the Middle Ages and beyond. So, all was well in the end. Um but anyway, the Normans in the south, they accomplished a lot also, you know, conquering the south of Italy and Sicily. So, John Julius Norwich, he presents their story in a compelling way. So, this is a very good history book and perfect read during the summer because when we think about the south of Italy and Sicily, perfect read in the heat. So, yes, I can highly highly recommend this. One of the best history books I've read. So, I I might reread it at some stage. I'll definitely reread it if I if I travel to the south of Italy at some stage. So, yes. And then And then also, if you're hooked by it, you can read the follow-up there as well, which details the rule in Sicily.
So, yes, it's good to read them so you can unlock the inexhaustible energy of the Normans, which is what I have done. So, listen to me now, all malicious entities. It doesn't matter what you throw at me. I have unlimited inexhaustible energy because I've unlocked a magical energy source to the medieval Normans. So, yes, come at me.
Now, moving on to the third book, we have some good old philosophy.
The Agony of Polemos. I have talked about this in podcast episodes as well.
I've written a short article about the main teachings herein. So, this book, it elaborates on a profound quote by our esteemed good old Heraclitus when he says that war is father to all. And this we can interpret as competition is father of all.
When something competes against something else comes into war or conflict or whatever it might be, then it comes into being with capital B. So, very interesting indeed and uh you know, quite fundamental uh cornerstone of philosophy. I would say, in my humble opinion. So, I can definitely recommend that you read this and meditate upon the teachings therein.
And also on a self-improvement level, because you know, we're not only speculating about philosophy, we're trying to live philosophy. That's why we're reading philosophy to apply it to our own lives to become better men and women.
I write in Dauntless as well that competition breeds excellence. And that's something that you can keep in mind that if you want to truly sharpen yourself, if you want to pursue excellence, then find a competition.
And then you will probably get a sense of urgency and a sense of, you know, motivation and fire within you and so.
Yes, anyway, do read it. Great stuff indeed. All right, moving on to the fourth book. This is a book I have recommended many times before. So, OGs, you will know will not come as a surprise. But, in case you're newer to the channel, it might be the first time you hear of it.
Perhaps, perhaps also very important for you to read this book so you can follow along in my live streams. Because as I always say, the the live streams, no matter the topic, we always end up talking a bit about the Horus Heresy in Warhammer at least. So, Horus Rising, first book in the Horus Heresy series. So, this I have read, I reread, and my recommendation, it still stands. It's just an excellent book. You don't need to read all of the Horus Heresy books, but I do recommend that you read this one at least. So, very, very compelling book. I can't recommend it enough. So, science fiction and I am fairly certain that our esteemed Dan Abnett here, he has read his fair share of philosophy and esoteric books as well to, you know, create his metaphysics in in the books. Now, he's not alone in writing the the series, but he's um one of the top guys at least. And uh yeah, super good book, so read it. All right, fifth and final book we have The White Company by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. This was written back in 1891, but uh you can still read it with perfect clarity. The language is still very much accessible even for um >> [snorts] >> even reading it over 100 years later.
Now, the biggest difference I would say, if you, like me, you've grown up with, you know, Kingdom of Heaven, such films, where you have this constant annoying cold filter, you have basically no color at all. It's just muddy and cold, brown and gray, everything. That is the depiction of the Middle Ages. But, that's a modern thing because they want to portray the Middle Ages as super oppressive and bad and everything like that. This portrays the Middle Ages as something completely else. So, this is the Middle Ages of my childhood. What I envisioned growing up as a boy, I envisioned the Middle Ages to be, you know, full of high adventure and more colorful, more vivid, more vibrant, like that. So, written before that anti- Middle Ages propaganda kicked in. So, very nice to read, good book, entertaining, and you know, you get a glimpse of not only, you know, historical fiction set during the 100 Years' War between England and France, but you also get a glimpse of how the Middle Ages were perceived in the late 19th century. So, anyway, an overall enjoyable read that I can definitely recommend. So, those were the five books. I also have a list on my webpage, the goldenone.se, an esoteric reading list. I will link it in the comment section below.
And if you're on X, you can simply go to the goldenone.se and search for esoteric reading list if you're interested in Yeah, such literature. I have a nice little list there as well. Maybe I'll make a video on it or a podcast or a live stream or something like that. So, anyway, thank you for watching. I hope you have a great summer of reading and learning and low cortisol and high thumos and a lot of joy and tranquility.
So, do head over to insidetheus.com.
It's a good service. Again, as I use myself, I can definitely recommend. Head over to legiogloria.com, place an order for some of the greatest clothes, such as this fine polo shirt, for example.
And yes, I will see you in the next video. X X O, boom.
