Chicago Business Woman Under Fire For keeping Money not producing Prom Dresses!Added:
Hey y'all, hey. Let's get into today's case.
>> [music] >> Today's case is out of Chicago where business owner by the name of Makayla Evans who is popular and very well known in the area for making prom dresses has been under fire because of prom dresses that hasn't been completed. Some half completed things of that nature. We have some footage that we're going to jump into where it then came to the point where the these families has break broken into Makayla's shop. They're they've been demanding their money back. News stations has been called to get on this case and it's said that this happens like every year with her where she does this thing.
So, let's get into it.
>> There's no way. Parents were riled up outside Makayla Designs on Pulaski this afternoon to the point they called police to file reports after they learned they will not be receiving the custom prom dresses they waited months for. We want to pursue charges against her. Katherine Smith says her daughter has been coming to this location every month since January to get alterations on her prom dress. It was supposed to be ready by this weekend, but Smith says she did not receive any response from the owner even though she paid her $2,200 for the dress.
They say they went with Makayla Designs because the owner Makayla Evans makes gorgeous gowns as seen on TikTok.
>> She recently made my mother's wedding dress in November and it was lovely. It was wonderful.
>> High school senior Terriana Gage booked and paid for this dress she envisioned over a year ago. She says she was supposed to pick up her dress hours before prom last Friday, but it was still unfinished, leaving her with an hour to find a dress at another store.
>> And this is the only day that I have for prom. You don't get another prom at all.
I got this 2 hours before my daughter's prom.
Denisha Lambert actually got a dress.
She said she paid over $1,200 for her daughter's gown, but she showed us the sequins were hot glued, the ribbon holding the dress together broke, and the bottom was not hemmed. While we were on the sidewalk talking with parents, the owner Makayla Evans posted on Facebook saying she apologizes, but she will not be able to finish their dresses. She did say that she will work with each customer after she deals with what she calls a mental health crisis.
The police was out here earlier and I spoke to them, and they said they've been here 3 years ago, 2 years ago.
Worried Pearson says he believes Evans is making thousands off his daughter Rakira and the rest of these parents.
Rakira told us she just wanted Evans to be honest. If you ain't have them time to finish the person dress, you could have just been straight forward. So everyone here could have found the dress of their dreams elsewhere. It's sad to say that she's still in these moments away from our kids. In her child, let me be the first to say that I'm not understanding why because it's going to be a video I'm going to show you guys.
These people knew that she has a history of doing this, that she's done this multiple times like in other years. Why would you go to this woman and put your faith in her to get something done as important as this? Like you don't get another moment like this. You don't get this day back.
It's just sad that this woman has done this. She's keeping the money. She has yet to give anybody their refund back that I know of. Um I just don't get why that they would go to this woman. Yes, she does great work, but your ethics speaks louder than your work when it comes to something like this. So, let's get into it. I'm going to show y'all some more clips of what's been going on with this case.
Okay.
This been going on the last few weeks everyday. This been going on.
I remember her from last week. She was out here snapping.
Y'all not wrong.
Y'all ain't been seeing her go viral on Facebook lately? Like every other day it's been like her going viral.
Yeah, this been multiple like multiple girls. Is this another girl? Or is this my client?
So, you have her address? I she Did she Did you talk to her?
Okay, well, they all They all out here, too.

Everybody.
Try to keep calling her.
Oh my god.
This is crazy.
She been telling everybody she ain't got no money. So, y'all ain't getting no refund. Hate to say it like that, but Oh, she did?
Oh, okay.
I'm Well, look. I This This your first shit dealing with?
That's why. She This has been going on for the last 3 years. So, this ain't That's what I'm saying. You not the only one.

She did My client got did like that, too. That's what I'm telling you. She ain't get She going to tell you she ain't got no money. She told my client the same thing.
Well, we Well, everybody been mad and been letting her get away with it. So, it's like She Well, Well, I guess that's what it's going to have to take cuz she playing for show. And I definitely remember her from last week. She came in and snatched.
They snapped.
She over the head.
Uh-huh.
Okay. She called the news. She Hold on. Put my phone on charge so my shit don't die. Hold on, y'all. Hold on.
Child, so later on that night family members or whoever went back to this shop and destroyed it. They ran up in the building and they busted windows out, ran in the building, and started taking prom dresses. Now, this woman has ruined her reputation, if you ask me. She's good at making prom dresses, wedding dresses, you name it, she was doing it. And I'm just confused. Uh we going to get into this footage of later on that night of what happened.
All right.
Obviously, we are not the ones.
They coming to get they stuff.
What color is y'all stuff?
It's probably in there. Baby, you better go on in there if you going to go in there before he start broadcasting.
Wait, baby. Don't put us on yet. Let my baby get her dress. I need to get what I need to get.
You going to You going TO RECORD HER WHILE SHE IN THERE?

HURRY UP, BOO.
SHE AIN'T THE ONE THAT DID IT. Cuz she's the one THAT DID IT.
GET UP, BACK UP. GET UP, BACK UP, BITCH.

CLEANING IT UP.
NONE OF THIS MATTERS.
Y'ALL DON'T GET TO Y'ALL DON'T GET TO RECORD.
PUT IT BACK ON TOP. COME ON, put it BACK ON TOP.
I DON'T WANT THAT CUZ HE ON THE MOVE.
I DON'T WANT MY face on I don't want my face on there.
Y'all going to lose No, don't touch him for real.
You don't You don't got no specific reason to I DON'T NEED YOU STANDING here recording me. Okay.
Wait a minute, y'all, cuz this took me out. They are mad at the camera man for doing his job, but they don't want her him to put the young lady on the camera, but they're sending the young lady in there to to take stuff, which is a crime, and it's all on camera. Make that make sense. How is y'all mad at him for doing his job when y'all sitting here telling this little girl to go in there and take some stuff. Yeah, we get it that it you guys are old money, you guys are old address, but this is not the way to handle it at all. Like, this took me out when I first heard it. I'm like, what what?
HOLD WAIT A MINUTE NOW.
MOVE.
Y'all better come get y'all stuff. This man recording.
They just about to swallow them.
What she doing? No, but my brother Y'all be bogus if y'all take that and go put it in the car.
Go take this and put it in the car.
No, but this not funny though.
Mom.
She got three four people got their stuff.
Everybody else people stuff right here.
This ain't none of yours.
There's some stuff down here.
This is so wrong what this woman has done to these kids. This is going to be something that they are going to always remember. And then she had the audacity to make a post to Facebook while these people were standing out there trying to get their merchandise saying how she's going through things and is about to admit herself into the hospital for mental illness or something like that.
Like where was this at leading up to this situation? Like you wasn't having no mental problems before this occurred.
If you knew you couldn't fulfill the orders or handle that many customers, you should have never took them on.
But y'all like, comment, subscribe, hit that notification bell. I'm out. Bye.
