According to Maimonides (Rambam) in his Mishneh Torah, Gentiles are obligated to fulfill seven fundamental laws: (1) Prohibition against idol worship, (2) Prohibition against cursing God's name, (3) Prohibition against murder, (4) Prohibition against forbidden sexual relations, (5) Prohibition against theft and kidnapping, (6) Prohibition against failing to establish courts of law to adjudicate the other obligations, and (7) Prohibition against eating the flesh or limb of an animal while it is still alive. These laws, originally given to Adam and renewed to Noah, were reaffirmed at Mount Sinai with Moses and form the ethical foundation for all non-Jewish people.
