Modern society has normalized numerous hidden fees and exploitative practices that feel like scams, including airline baggage fees, hospital parking charges, childcare costs, and restaurant sauce surcharges. These practices have become so accepted that people no longer recognize them as unfair. The video argues that many everyday costs—such as $80 for checked bags, $2,000 monthly childcare, and $1,200 for hair services—represent systemic financial exploitation that has become normalized through repeated exposure and societal acceptance.

Things Society Pretends Are Normal… But Feel Like Scams追加:
Things that we've normalized that feel like highway robbery. Tipping on to-go orders. Paying for hospital parking. $80 for a checked bag to get on a flight.
Childcare costing $2,000 a month. It's a scam that's become so normalized that we don't even realize it's a scam anymore.
Highway tolls. Highway tolls are the biggest scam ever. Having kids when you cannot afford them. Kids being famous or idolized. A 12-year-old boy Renting a home that is not a starter. You don't need to be changing your furniture every couple of years. You don't need to always be having work done on your home.
And you also don't need to buy a home.
If I pay for my food and I want sauce to go with my food, why the [ __ ] do I have to pay 40, 60, 80 cent extra for a sauce that I want to go on my I saw this video and I thought it was very, very interesting. You know, this video is very interesting. So, I want to share this video with you and you can put it in the comment section and let me know things that we have normalized that is not supposed to be normal. So, this video is talking about things that we have normalized as a society that feels like a robbery or things that we have normalized that shouldn't be normalized, you know? So, I'm just going to show you a few videos right now. Things that we've normalized that feel like highway robbery. Tipping on to-go orders. Paying for hospital parking. $80 for a checked bag to get on a flight. Childcare costing $2,000 a month. $40 to park at a hotel. $8 coffee and $15 mocktails.
Insurance. $50 to choose your seat on a plane. 4:00 p.m. check-in, but 11:00 a.m. check-out. Ticketmaster fees.
Paying $200 for a bottle at the club. A woman changing her last name when she gets married. And no, I will not explain. Rent being exactly the same as February as it is in March. Like, it's 28 days >> that's become so normalized that we don't even realize it's a scam anymore.
Highway tolls. Highway tolls are the biggest scam ever. You mean to tell me you give a company some money, they build this highway, highway gets done. I understand some tolls for some maintenance, but out of all the years of thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands of cars driving on this toll road, you mean to tell me this road still ain't paid for?
I live in Florida, by the way, and I believe we have more tolls than any other state in the country. I have to pay tolls to get on the highway, I got to pay tolls while I'm on the highway, I got to pay tolls to get off the highway.
It's highway robbery, literally. is not enough, bottom line. Things I think are too normalized. I think kids when you cannot afford them. I have known people who have said things like, "It doesn't matter if I can't afford things for my kids. They will be loved." Do you think love is enough to keep a child from being bullied because they don't have new or clean clothes? Do you think love is enough to put food on the table? It's harsh, but it's true. Kids being famous or idolized. A 12-year-old boy or girl should never ever have to be exposed to millions of people or their perceptions of them. When I was 12, I already cared way too much about what other people thought of me. And I can't imagine a 12-year-old having millions of followers on social media and seeing all of the nasty things that people might have to say about me if I do even one thing wrong. Hookup culture. I don't care what anyone says. In my opinion, it is not healthy emotionally or physically to use people for their bodies and then shove aside all emotional connection just because all you care about is pleasing yourself.
>> Not to mention, it's dangerous. You just met this person and you're going to sleep with them with the chance of an STD and the possibility of a baby and then never speak to them again. That's not healthy.
These are things that are way too normalized. Shaming people for going little or no contact with family members. You don't have to tolerate treatment you don't deserve just because someone's biologically related to you.
Men feeling like they're owed access to women's bodies. A man has started cursing at me because I covered my butt while I was walking past him. Hating on someone for being the person you wish you were. You focus on yourself, you'll be a better version of yourself. Trying to be likable and non-threatening. Being humble. Shaming people for not wanting kids or marriage. Over explaining yourself, especially when it comes to cutting people off. People who are worthy of an explanation and closure don't need to be cut off in the first place.
>> that are normal. We live in a world where you are constantly being brainwashed and my only job is to keep it real with you. Number one is renting a home that is not aesthetic. You don't need to be changing your furniture every couple of years. You don't need to always be having work done on your home and you also don't need to buy a home.
Number two is cooking all of your meals at home is normal. Buying off brand is also normal. Number three, not having your kids enrolled in multiple different activities is normal. Four, believe it or not, not shopping every day is completely normal. Not going on Amazon, not expecting a package, not walking into a Target, completely normal. Five, being bored is both very good for your brain and also normal. Because we live in a world where we are addicted to dopamine, low-grade stimulation, being bored is not a thing. Believe it or not, some of your best ideas come to you when you are bored. Next, not checking your phone in the morning is completely normal and again very good for you.
Putting yourself first and letting people call you selfish, completely normal. Raising your own kids, cleaning your own house, also normal. Losing spark in a relationship and then working to get that spark back instead of taking a break is normal. Hating working out but doing it anyway for your health, normal. Having a simple four-step skin care routine that is working for you is normal. Just because something is trendy or someone tells you you need it does not mean anything. Having one evening bag, one tote bag for work, one or two black dresses that you repeat over and over again. Having two pairs of heels, a pair of sneakers, normal. Again, what people are showing you online is not real. Stop believing it. Getting a haircut every three months is normal and using cheaper products on your hair. My shampoo, conditioner, and hair mask combined cost less than $10 a month. I don't hate my hair. Keeping your life private is normal, not announcing all of your goals is normal, not gossiping all the time is normal. We have a community of over 800,000 women on social media and I owe it to you to be honest with you. Hope this helps. No, it's not going to work.
I don't really care how things go with the economy in this country. You will never convince me that paying $1,200 for braids is normal.
It's not. Like you people are insane.
And frankly, I'm not falling for the highway robbery. I will shave my head and walk around bald for the next 10, 20, 15, 50 years if I have to because it's ridiculous. I don't care if the service comes with a brand new pair of Louis Vuitton. I don't care if the service comes with an Hermes bag. I don't care if I get to meet Barack Obama or Beyoncé at this at the time of service. $1,200 for braids? $1,200 for a sew-in?
You've lost your mind. You have lost it.
>> up with making somebody pay for sauces, you can go to hell. Like first flight now. I don't understand the concept, especially with everything being so high as is. If I pay for my food and I want to go with my food, why the [ __ ] do I have to pay 40, 60, 80 cent extra for a sauce that I want to go on my food? And I already paid for the food.
Like I'm just so confused. Like what the [ __ ] is really going on? Like is that legal? Like why is life like that? Like that's like with everything. You buy a product and you got to buy something else to [ __ ] use the product. Like that don't make no sense.
>> [laughter] >> No way, y'all. Like for real. Am I tripping? Am I bugging? Cuz I almost like cussed this lady out cuz I'm like damn, I just wanted some onion rings and some french fries and I wanted some ranch. And she's talking about oh, it'll be 60 cent for some ranch.
For my sides? Like I literally just got some sides. Are you telling me it's going to be 60 cent for that? I just paid it cuz what the but what the [ __ ] Yeah, right? Some of this stuff are ridiculous like paying property taxes on property that you already own or buy.
Paying convenience fees on um paying bills online. Appetizers costing as much as the main entry. Rent being higher than mortgages. Nails costing $120 and more.
Um it's just so much things that we have normalized as a society that shouldn't be normalized. Rent increases every year. Everything being a subscription base. It's just so many, but you you let me know in the comment section below things that we have normalized that you think shouldn't be normalized. Let me know what you think about this story down in the comment section below. Thank you for watching and I'll see you all in my next video.
