The findings underscore that obesity is a chronic condition requiring sustained, high-dose intervention to prevent metabolic rebound. It effectively reframes weight maintenance as a lifelong pharmacological commitment rather than a temporary lifestyle adjustment.

Zepbound Goal Weight: 7X More Likely to Keep it Off? (New Study Tirzepatide)Added:
GLP1 news zepbound goal weight seven times more likely to keep the weight off with a new tur zepatide study. Let's dive in. So a new study came out um yesterday. Uh it was or two days ago. It was from the surount maintain trial. So it's clinical trials. It was presented at the Eco 2026 in Istanbul, Turkey at the European Congress of Obesity. And so this is fascinating. If you have ever wondered what do you what what dose should you be on for maintenance today is going to get that answer for you. So what happened was they had this trial.
It was the surmount maintain trial. And so folks after an initial 60-day weight loss period on Zepbound participants were then split into three different groups. One, two, three. They were presented in for a 52 weeks maintenance program. And with this they were there for 112 weeks to give these results. So we have now data for our zeppbound maintenance and tzepetide maintenance and I'm going to throw Mjaro folks on there but this is more so for obes obesity management and so stay till the end because I'm going to talk about why I'm wearing a Wonder Woman costume too.
So the there's three separate groups and within those three groups they had people who had the maximum tolerated dose. We're going to I'm going to reference MTD maximum tolerated dose of either having 10 milligrams or 15 milligrams of Zepbound which is the most effective. And so what they found with this is participants on the 10 milligrams or 15 milligrams in GLP1 maintenance with Zepbound were seven times more likely to maintain weight loss compared to those stopped. And I don't want to just talk about people stopping Zep taking Zepound or Turzetide. There's other data within this too which is going to blow your mind. Wait till you hear about the third group that they did. So with this, seven times more likely to maintain that weight loss with that maximum tolerated dose, MTD, 10 milligrams, 15 milligrams.
On average, they maintain 96.5% of their initial weight loss. They even actually lost an extra 0.2 kg more of that. So that was the first group. Amazing results. Amazing. So let's talk about people who dipped down in dose. Do you hear that all the time where people are like, "Oh, I'm not on the maximum dose for maintenance. I'm going to drop down on doses." What happened to those people? Get ready for your fingers to be tingling. The lower dose, they dropped them down to zbound 15 milligrams. And so, this was considered the middle ground. Remember, there's three groups.
Participants were four times more likely to maintain their weight loss than those who stopped. However, they maintained 67.9% of their initial loss but gained on average 6 kg during the maintenance year. Now remember this was presented over at the European Congress on Obesity in Istanbul um on May 13th, 2026 which was yesterday. Yes, it was yesterday. I was like what is 6 kilograms? It's 13.2 pounds. So people who dropped they were on a dose higher than zeppbound 15 five zepound five milligrams higher than that dropped down to zepp five milligrams were gained on average 13.2 pounds in their maintenance year. My friends if you were on maintenance and you have dropped your dose you're going to want to talk to your healthcare provider because none of this is medical advice.
Don't take medical advice from a woman in a Wonder Woman costume. That's actually way too big. I'm like it's too big for me. This is fascinating. If you are dropping your dose for maintenance, you may want to rethink this based on the maintain um surount maintain trial is because people gain 13.2 pounds of maintenance by dropping dose. Maybe it's better to go back over to that higher dose, that max dose, that MTD of 10 milligrams or 15 milligrams. We know that there's 12.5 in there, but they didn't test that. So, just keeping that in mind. Now, this is where your socks are going to get blown. I want you to stay until the end. I'm going to talk about safety though. That's another p that's another piece of this that you need to make sure you know about in maintenance is. So the third group they had was the placebo folks. And so with our placebo friends, poor placebo friends. If I was a placebo group, I'd get out my gold Wonder Woman lasso. I would be upset. What they had was participants maintained only 42.8% of their initial loss. They gained 28.66 66 lb, which is on average, this is on average, some people more, some people less. On average, 28.66 pounds they gained in a year, which is 13 kg. It's kg. Is that kilograms? Forgive me for not knowing European metrics. KG, whatever that might it's it's 28.66 pounds. So here's the this is the interesting part to me is so with this the study measured how many people could keep off weight at least 80% of the weight that they originally lost. So like if you can keep off 80% of your weight you lost you're golden. And so with this they had their um MTD group.
It was no that's not what I wanted to show you. They had their MTD group.
maximum tolerated dose, 77.5% of people succeeded, could keep off 80% of that weight. The five milligram group, meaning that they dropped from their their their higher dose, they were on that higher dose and they dropped down to five milligrams. They 42.4% succeeded at staying at least at 80% weight loss.
If you are on maintenance, you need to share this with everybody. you know this video this part right now tell them it's at five 5 minutes and 45 seconds in Elizabeth's spiel is that the five milligram group the people who dropped down doses only 42.4% succeeded at keeping 80% of the weight off now when we go to the placebo group this is bad 10.4% 4% of the placebo group succeeded at keeping 80% of the weight off.
Um, clutch your pearls, honey. Like, that that's blows my mind. That stinks.
If you knew that you were going to only have a 10% success rate of keeping 80% of the weight off, only 10.4% of people did that.
I use join Fridays, by the way, for my tellahalth company. If you're looking for turepide or zepp semiglutide or turzepatide meaning like compound stuff, go check them out. Use discount code queen by the way. Okay, so let's go over and talk about the next part. I want to talk about safety concerns with this, but also some cardio um meta the cardio metabolic not pronouncing that right your heart stuff. Boom boom boom is improvements in three areas you need to know about with continuing at the higher level. So if you're like should I stay at the higher level or go to the lower level higher level people on continued in treatments actually had improvements improvements in their blood pressure their waist circumference and their lipids their cholesterol those levels were preserved.
Then the next one with the discontinuation um also people who switched over had switching to placebo led to a greater reversal reversal of those heart benefits like they had it was a greater so those heart benefits that they got they went back to the old ways they're like no boo peace out then the quality of life this is the other important part is that those people on the maximum tolerated dose the 10 milligrams or the 15 milligrams in surmount not maintain reported higher quality of life scores than those who stopped the medication.
So people who stopped the medication, their quality of life dropped, which for me being somebody who weighed, you guys know I'm not medical at all. This is simply my experience, Strength and Hope.
I'm somebody who weighed over 300 lbs and now is super active and who's, you know, channeling her inner Wonder Woman.
Stay till the end, I'll tell you why I'm wearing this ridiculous costume. Um, so with the quality of life, that was one of the other pieces too of like simply just living a nice quality of life. And I know so many of you agree with me on that standpoint of like if we're going to do this, let's make it fabulous. Like let's do two snaps in the Z formation.
So let's talk about some of the continued treatments um with it as well.
So they had positive outcomes. There's some safety concerns too uh with this.
Most of the side effects that they had were like gastrointestinal diarrhea, constipation, nausea, vomiting with continuation. um severity was usually mild to moderate. So knowing that there was some moderate side effects in there of having like moderate diarrhea, moderate vomiting, moderate um constipation like it was could be mild to moderate and then the timing of this component with the continued treatment is side effects typically most frequently occurred around the initial dose escalation. So, which I've talked about in death ad nauseium or being yes. Um, that pun did not work well for me. We'll try again in a moment here. But the dose escalation phase rather than doing long-term maintenance is when people like kept going up. That's when they saw more in terms of the timing. They saw more of those side effects happening of diarrhea, constipation, nausea, vomiting. If you're like, I don't know what to do with constipation, I implore you. This video is not sponsored by by Optimizers Magnesium. Uh, but you might want It's on sale right now using my discount code queen qen with 15% off plus the bundle sales plus the free bottle of mass, a $15 value with any purchase. So, I'll link that down in the description link below. Not sponsored by them, but if you are constipated because there's seven types of magnesium, it helps to support regularity.
So with this the interesting piece and so some of the takeaways of like what are we going to take away from learning with this is that the surmount maintain provides clear evidence there's no ambiguity in here clear evidence that while a lower dose 5 milligrams zbound 5 milligrams provides benefits over stopping the medication entirely staying on the maximum dose tolerated is the most effective way to prevent weight regain. The most effective way to prevent regain, maintain the metabolic health improvement that you have achieved during your initial weight loss by having that high level of dose of 10 milligrams or 15 milligrams. And you may say, why is 12.5 milligrams in there? I don't know. I'll get you that answer in an upcoming video, but I'm going to lump that into there. That wasn't part of the study, but it goes 10 milligrams, 12.5 milligrams, 15 milligrams for Zepp. My MARO friends, my type 2 diabetic friends, I'm lumping you into this, too.
But your data is going to be different because type two diabetes patients their weight loss is generally slower and less. But still lump yourself into this for tur appetite weight loss. This is huge now to know what pathway we should be doing for maintenance. If you had any sort of question, pull up this study. I want you to tell your health care provider and say, "Hey, I was hearing about this this presentation from Istanbul, Turkey. It was called surmount maintain. Can we talk about that in relation to my maintenance dose right now? And besties. So I'm I'm heated if you can tell. I'm like I'm like fired up today. I'm wearing a Wonder Woman costume. It's too tight. I'm pissed that it's too tight. I want it to be like super like corset light and it's not. I got my pink lasso whip. My husband said I was like why is there not a real whip in here? And he's like they're not going to give you weaponry. So he said this is a belt, not the her her golden whip. Um, are you not entertained? Um, so with this I I I feel like I'm half joking about wearing my Wonder Woman costume, but to me this is like I'm fired up about this. It's because so many people have are struggling during maintenance.
You get to this next phase, you're like, boom, I crushed it. I I I was I'll use my statement. I weighed over 300 pounds and now I've lost 113 pounds, but the weight is creeping up on me. It's not that I um that that zeppon 15 milligrams is not working for me. I need a higher dose. And while this study doesn't talk about that at all, I'm inferring that because you can pull this data and for me it is clearly showing that the higher doses even in maintenance how much it matters. Seven times more likely to maintain your weight loss.
sometime like if you went to Vegas honey you would want to roll those do dice odds speaking of which we're not going to Vegas but I will be at the end of the month in Austin Texas go to the free encouragement group I have all the details but you got to email me you got to get on the list because there's we're giving away free goodie bags too of our amazing sponsors were like we want to give you free stuff to give at your Austin Texas meet and greet quite excited about that so email me um or in the group it has my email if you're like where do I find it's in the description here but you can go find it on in the group. But knowing does does this also not give some relief to people who are struggling in maintenance? You just may need to be on a higher dose. And if your doctor doesn't have this information, switch to joint Fridays.
Go for the joint Fridays. Use the discount code queen. But being on a the middle dose that that middle dose is it's middle ground. Like would you rather have seven times more likely to maintain your weight loss or four times more likely to maintain your weight loss. Being on that Zepbound five milligrams is four times more likely to maintain that weight loss. People on average gained initial 13.2 pounds by dropping down to that. If they're on a higher dose than 5 milligrams, they're dropping down to zound five milligrams.
They're on a higher dose, they drop down to five milligrams. They gain on average 13.2 pounds.
That math is not mathing. But where it guts me? It guts me is if somebody the placebo, the discontinuation people, can you imagine, by the way, being in that trial and being like, "Oh, you could be on either the 5 milligram or the higher one like zeppam 15 milligrams, but instead you get stuck with placebo. Oh, I would be so upset. I'd be like, are you kidding me? You've lost all this weight." And this is where my heart breaks for people. literally snaps into is participants only maintained 42.8% of their initial weight loss. They gained back within that total study 28.66 pounds. What was it? 112 weeks minus it was a 52- week phase, 52- week maintenance. In that 52 weeks, they gained 28.66 pounds approximately. What is that? Um a half a pound a week gain.
I'm like devastated for those people partially because I am in the midst and this is this is a side note of people are like why are you so interested in reachide because I'm going through it now with zepp 15 milligrams not I was going to say desperately and I'm not desperate I'm not desperate but I am white knuckling as hard as I can to stay at the weight that I am this is hard and you guys saw I gained 10 pounds I've lost weight I'm gaining muscle I'm I am really working hard on the skill said of eating super high protein, high fiber, low calorie, mixing it up, working with a dietitian, weight training, lifting weights full body three times a week, walking, like I am doing the dang thing. This is where people are like, "Oh, it's a matter of you're not doing." Someone left a comment the other day of like, "You're not doing X, Y, and Z." And I'm like, "The f? Uh, yeah, I am. I could not possibly be doing anymore." And you know what my hot husband said? My husband's not only hot, I got a smart one, too.
He's like, "You're working as hard as you can on this. You could not be doing anymore." And he's like, "You just got to wait till Ra comes out." Basically, I got seven more months. That is my relief. And if that doesn't work, I don't know what I'm going to do because I am at the highest BMI possible. I talk about that in another video, so I don't want to go through that. But I'm saying I'm saying all of this to be vulnerable and people are going to use that as a no weapon formed against me, honey. Um, people are going to try to use it. But I'm saying that for people. This is way I'm saying that for people hopefully to help share that this is hard. If anybody for me this is not this is one of the hardest things I've done in my life. I'm trying so hard and I know so many of you are trying so hard too. We got our Wonder Woman armor on and we are trying hard.
I could not not be trying any harder.
And so this study to me is very validating. When I read it I did start to Y'all know I'm a kind of a crybaby.
If you don't know me, I'm kind of a cry.
I'm an emotional person that this proves and validates obesity is a disease that it needs management.
And how many times in my life I've been made to feel like a piece of because I'm lazy or I'm not working hard enough or whatever when the data clearly tells us, science tells us that it's not. It's a disease that needs to be maintained and it needs to be maintained on the right dose. That maximum TDM, that maximum tolerated dose, meaning like you don't want to poop your brains out. You don't want to have blowout diarrhea.
Diarrhea will make anyone laugh. I don't mean to like I don't mean to be a crybaby, but I am so passionate about this topic because it's been such a source of pain.
And also one of the greatest gifts of my life is being able to show my son that if you do work hard for something combined with science, you can get a results. It's not for a lack of effort.
And so if you have gained weight after GLP1 or in maintenance or things like that, it's not for I know if you've watched this far in the video, I know you that it's not from a lack of effort.
It's the dosing is majorly. Does this study not prove that the dose is really really important part of this going into maintenance? If you haven't extrapolated that part of this study, forgive me then I haven't done my job. Dose matters so much in maintenance. That is why I'm partially the do it didn't say this in the study but for me why I'm having I'm struggling. I don't it's struggling maybe too big of a word. I'm having I'm working so hard and it feels very frustrating to be working this hard to not be getting to the next level with my body. I I It's frustrating. Although this Wonder Woman costume does make me feel a little bit better. It's not as tight as I want it to be, though.
It's got this whole skirt thing, too.
It's hysterical, by the way. So, why did I wear this costume down?
I thought it was funny. And the world's really, really serious right now with a lot of serious things going on and I wanted to laugh and apparently I ended up crying instead.
The whole point of me wearing the Dag costume was to make a joke and crack up.
I'm going to come back and have this like I'm going to pin this. I in the back. I pinned it. You can see I pinned it back there. I'm like, it's just too big. It's like makes my bosoms, as Blanch Devo says, it makes my bosoms not look like perky bosoms. It's just too big. Like it's just too big. Which is good for me. makes me feel a little bit better about myself. No, all jokes aside, this dose thing is this is major. This news I'm going to report on this again because this is just too big of a news story of when you go through a year because the study, what was it? 60 weeks. 60 week weight loss period. Go through 60 weeks of working that hard.
It just makes my heart break for Can you imagine being in the placebo group? You go through 60 weeks of working on this.
Where's the placebo one? You go through 60 weeks of working on this and then 10% of people succeeded of keeping at least 80% of the weight off means 90% of people gained um that they couldn't keep 80% of the weight off. 90%.
After that 60 weeks that basically I mean they gained 20.66 pounds approximately half a pound a week because it was 52 weeks maintenance that they were studying. Like that blows my mind. That blows my mind. And hopefully it blows your mind too of the impact of how important maintenance dose is of not stopping this medication because I get that all the time from just stop. No, the studies show over and over and if you want to oh this is the other thing you do you by the way if you stop the medication we do have so many people in our community too. Um also in our group in our free encouragement group I love that for you because obesity management is a wide spectrum and hoop but most people are not that. Most people will gain the weight back. This study and 10 million others, not 10 million's a bit of an inflammation, but a bunch of other studies have proved this point over and over and over again. You gain the weight back if you don't stay on GLP1 medication because obesity needs management. And if your doctor is not managing you with your management next phase, like phase two into man, like then switch over to join Fridays like having that. I can think of so many people who switched over and were like oh thank goodness you to be to by the way to be on brand name dose you have to be an existing patient. So, starting with turppetite or semiglutide to give context by the way. Um, my discount code is queen which is linked in the description as is all the information I'm talking about. And today's source, you guys know I like to site my sources. Surmount maintain trials. That's that's the jam for today.
That's all of the information. If you want to check my sources, that's where I got all this information from today.
This is huge. And I think that it's very helpful also to know in maintenance.
Like I thought, oh, when I get here at maintenance, it's going to be it's it's it's still these people who went on the 5 milligrams, who dropped in dose, which a lot of doctors are recommending to drop in dose that they gained 13.2 pounds in 52 weeks.
So, what is that? Um, like a pound a month.
If you're gaining weight and maintenance, this data proves you need to probably you don't need to do anything. If it were me, I'll use my eye statements. I would have a conversation with my healthcare provider citing the source. This is too much. I mean, imagine how much pain you can solve yourself. These people if you go back uh in the 112 week mark and you're like, "Hey, get to that higher dose when you're in maintenance at the 10 milligrams or or 15 milligrams on average, get to that point, and you're going to keep that weight off." If if you use it for the 60 weeks and then you stop, you're gonna this is all going to be for not all that uh waist circumference and heart health amazing things. It's all going to come back.
You're going to come back with your problems. Your problems may even have puppies, too. So, I'm cheering you on regardless. And by the way, like I said, obesity is a wide spectrum. There's so many different ways to do this. People are going to get mad because they're like, "I've lost all my weight on zbound 2.5 milligrams." I so love that for you. You are the exception to the rule. But I'm so happy for you.
I'm not I'm not dissing you at all. I think that's amazing. Like, however we get there, right? Isn't that like all roads lead to Rome? So, however we get there, isn't that the point? So, I am cheering for whatever that is. That's safe, healthy, right? Legal, ethical, moral. Like that that is that is my heart's desire. Truly, I don't care.
Like, some people I think think I I'm like I don't I don't care. Like I I want the best for you. Truly, like I want the best for you.
Didn't she have a gold whip? Like they gave a belt but I was like is it an extra hair bow or something? Like no.
No. Okay. What do we need to talk about?
Amazon deals. Amazon deals of the day my live show. Um I think they sold out on the Amazon deals of the day of the pro the Ninja protein ice cream. But like the Ninja Slush is still on the Amazon deals link if you're interested in one of those. Like all of these Ninja products from my Amazon live show are still on sale. So go check that out.
That's linked in the description link.
If you're looking for meal prep stuff.
Sorry, I just had a protein shake before this and it's repeating on me. Um, and I wanted to wear my Wonder Woman, too, because this is hard for me and people who usually if you if you're if you've made it this far, typically that probably resonates with you. for other people that they don't have obesity management because you can be on GLP ones for a number of different reasons, right? Mine is for obesity management and for my blood sugars, like point blank period.
Making sure I'm my healthiest. And so this proves to me though like is so validating, so validating in some regards. So sad in some regards, but also so validating in other regards and also so clarifying. There is no ambiguity in this study. Eli Lily did the dang thing. Oh, that's one of the other things I wanted to tell you because I think it's important to know where did the money come from. It's always my question. I'm like, where did the money from? Um, the money came from in this study. It was from Eli Liy. Let me pull that up because I think that that was really important piece of this information that we absolutely do need to know. Is my thing not pearling up?
Hold on. I wanted to pull that up really quickly because I do think that like if people aren't saying, "Okay, who did this test? Why? Why are we not fiddlesticks? Hold on. Let me go back to scroll down.
Okay, if I can't find it easily, then I'm just going to drop looking. Um, but it was it was Eli Liy paid for this.
Like very very clearly they were the ones who were financing this. Um, where Okay, my show notes are extensive.
Today's show was expensive. It looks goofy. My husband's like, "Do you not think that you wearing a Wonder Woman costume may invalidate the severity of this?" And I'm like, "No, no, not at all." I haven't done karaoke today for all my karaoke besties, but our emoji of the day today is going to be a W for Wonder Woman.
W is the emoji of day. I do emojis of the day to get to know you better because I care. The pattern recognition of seeing your name over and over, week after week, month after month, now year after year. truly our tribe or our group or our friendships. It blows my mind. It iron sharpens iron. It makes you raise me up. It makes me better. It makes me better and healthier. Y'all motivate.
Like literally get me to go today. I got to go weight train again. I would not be doing that truly if it wasn't for our group.
Um so go check in. I know we got so many lurkers in the group. Go just go say hi.
Be like, "Hi, I'm a lurker. Bye." You can open the door, say hi, and then close it again.
I love you guys so super much. Um, go check out the Amazon deals down in the bottom and then also that buy optimizer sale. That free Massimemes bottle sale is ending. I don't know when though.
Your guess is as good as mine. I have no idea. So, um, this outfit is weird, honey. And I'm going to fix this. I want to get a new I want to get another one that where it fits where it looks like cute. Not like frumpy dumpy like the frumpy dumpy version. No, I want it to be tighter.
We'll work on it. My sweet friends, be kind to yourself, be kind to others. I'm count shopping and count my blessings because life is delicious. Let's continue with our seven times um what was that stat? Let me I want to exit out on that. Seven times more likely to maintain weight loss compared to those who stopped. Like, let's do the dag on thing and keep this weight off, baby.
We're doing great things. Okay, I love you guys. Have a great day. A button doesn't
