Local diners can operate successfully for decades (43 years in this case) by building strong community connections, adapting to changing times, and maintaining consistent service, though even established businesses face closure due to economic pressures, competition, or changing consumer preferences.

Closed Coach House Diner in Hackensack, NJAñadido:
Hello guys. We are here at the closed Coach House Restaurant and Diner here in Hackensack, New Jersey.
We are here on a busy Route 4 here in Hackensack. This is right across from the uh Shops at Riverside. I believe this is a mall.
As you can see, it has a Bloomingdale's.
True Food Kitchen Pampano's, I don't know if that's a restaurant.
Houston's, they'll take a restaurant, too.
They also have a AMC movie theater here.
And uh several other stores. I've never been to this mall.
Says it's a Simon Simon something mall, I don't know.
So, yeah. I've uh I've been told by a couple of subscribers to film this place. So, here I am.
Last time I came here, there was people working on the place, but there's nobody here, thank god, on a rainy day like this. So, it's perfect.
Uh we see the Coach House Diner signage right here, right next to the road.
So, yeah. Looks like this was established in 1983. That was 2 years before I was born. I was born in 1985, so And we have the signage here as well.
I'll be here for about 5 10 minutes and get out of here.
Here we have the sign up close.
It's a shame all these old older diners are closing down.
I've filmed quite a bit in Jersey. Uh I got to see where the entrance is in this place first.
And then we'll film around the place.
So, they had an ATM here inside as well.
This closed down recently, I think in like April 2026. So.
Dear valued customers, this is a notice of permanent closure.
Thank you for your loyalty and support.
It has meant everything to us. We've been honored to serve you and be a part of this community. With gratitude, Coach House.
So, they have phone numbers here. I don't know what that is for. It's from a under one Carlos.
Sad to see this place close. Hope to see you reopen and have its legacy continue.
So, maybe this might turn into a different diner. I don't know.
So, here's the inside of the place, sort of.
They have double entrance doors here, as you can see.
Smile, you're on camera.
Am I, really?
They have a I got a lunch special signage right here. Lunch specials are back.
And there's another sign on the wall right next to the plants.
They look like fake plants, though.
And the floor mats mats Floor mats are not even placed properly.
Here, we have the Coach House uh logo right there on the doors.
Wow, this place was open for like 43 years up until its closure. All right, so now we see the inside here.
Some of the lights are still on. Huh.
One of my uh not one of my subscribers, but I know Tekken Bolt already filmed this place. Shout out to you, man.
Here we have the seating booths here.
There's some condiments, ketchup, like a sugar packet, salt, pepper.
I guess that's where they would chalk up their specials there on the chalkboard.
They might have renovated this place over the years a little bit.
You can kind of tell.
Help wanted. Now hiring for new business, Bergen Diner, Closter, New Jersey. I've been over there.
Uh I was trying to film the place, but I think it was like a closed store.
They have a Stella beer glass here.
Stella!
Is that another beer bottle or alcohol bottle there? Looks like it.
Looks like the lights are on inside in the back in the kitchen, if that's what it is.
Looks like a thermostats here.
And we have some light shades, nice shades.
Let's go around this way.
Actually, let me go this way and see if we see anything else.
I guess they had other entrance doors here.
We love you from Johanna.
Ooh.
Here we have more of the dining room area there on the other side, which I'm going to get to in a bit.
This is one of their other signages again, the Coach House Restaurant Diner.
This place has been here, uh, like I said, for quite some time, and for a little over 40 43 years.
Um, it was a very popular diner here, I believe, in Hackensack, New Jersey.
Let's go to the other side of this diner here.
>> Here we have those fake plants and flowers again there on the corner.
More More fake plants.
That's pretty cool. I like that takeout signage right there the light on.
I guess they had one of their food samples there.
I'm going to see if we can see through these windows.
Um Hold on, 1 second.
Maybe through here.
What does that say?
Coach House Restaurant Diner Hot Chicken. Oh, this one of their signs.
Here's more table seating booths here with the tables and chairs.
Let's go to the other side.
They're open for dining, curbside pickup, and takeout.
>> They had more dining space here, too.
There's a billboard.
Time for an oil change, Garden State.
Mike's Amazing 100% pure avocado oil.
There's a dumpster area.
There's some other dining space here.
You can see the windows.
I want to see the other side, but doesn't look like we're going to be able to see.
See what's through here.
Ooh.
That was creepy and dark in there.
There's a couple ladders.
I smell marijuana.
There's one of the signs here where it entered Coach House.
They also uh This is Sky goes by.
Oh, All right.
>> Sorry?
I got I just pulled up. I don't know if he was like a cop or anything, but uh I was like ready to bolt in a minute, so.
