Quantum computers pose a significant threat to traditional blockchain security by potentially breaking encryption in hours rather than millions of years, but post-quantum cryptography and quantum-resistant layer one blockchains like Asentum are being developed to withstand these future threats, with Asentum specifically designed from genesis to be quantum-safe while maintaining compatibility with existing developer ecosystems.

Can Asentum's L1 blockchain withstand quantum threat?Added:
Have you heard about quantum computing?
If you're into blockchain and web3, here's why you should be paying attention. Blockchain is often called unhackable, and for now, that's true.
The encryption protecting your crypto wallet would take a classical computer millions of years to crack, but a quantum computer doesn't play by those rules. Using qubits, it can explore millions of solutions simultaneously, and that means the encryption keeping your wallet safe could theoretically be broken in hours. There's even a name for the attack already happening, harvest now, decrypt later, where bad actors record your encrypted data today and crack it once quantum computers are powerful enough. Google, IBM, and governments worldwide are pouring billions into making that a reality, possibly within a decade from now. Every public key on a blockchain potentially vulnerable. Every transaction signature at risk. But, here's the good news.
Researchers are already building post-quantum cryptography, encryption designed to withstand quantum attacks, and some blockchain projects aren't waiting around. And one of them is Sentem, which is a quantum-safe layer one chain, and I'm going to show you exactly why they're built differently, plus their ongoing interdevice testnet.
But, before we get things started, I noticed that most of the viewers here watch my previous videos haven't subscribed to my channel yet. So, I would really appreciate if you're going to smash the subscribe button and turn on the notifications for more videos like this, and kindly take note of the disclaimer that is shown right here on the screen and in the video description.
So, my name is Jeff, aka Nomad Fury, a UGC creator and content strategist for tech, AI, web3, gaming, and more. Now, without further ado, let's head over to their website, shall we? Okay, so we are here in the official website of Ascend them. So, just simply head over to ascend.com.
The the resource links are just right here on the video description. Right now, um they're still in the incentivized testnet. So, um mainnet is still on the horizon. So, just a quick overview about the website. So, they are a pulse quantum layer one from the genesis block. So, you could check their this is paper. It was built to survive pulse quantum from the very beginning.
And not only that, they are also built from scratch compatible with the 17 million developers and could run validator clients from anywhere on anything. So, more information here, guys. So, when it comes to their smart contracts, guys, so it is immutable and verifiable. And of course, if you could see that they also have a governance secured native ecosystem. And right now, guys, they're on the public testnet as what I have mentioned earlier. So, it's now live. So, they have the Ascend them operator, the native Chrome wallet. And for their third phase, so this is their plan, the on-chain governance user interface, the one-line invalidator installer, and of course, their docs site plus the AIPs. And you could see that if you're running a node, so you will be getting these validator rewards.
So, you can validate from anywhere with the retail hardware. So, what makes Ascend them different? So, you could see everything right here. This comparable to the traditional layer one chains like Ethereum, Solana, and more. And yes, this is the chain that's built for what comes next and all of the resource links here. And you can also follow their socials. Now, you can see right here, guys, they have the testnet explorer. All right, so here's the thing. How can we add the Ascend them testnet network in Rabby, MetaMask, or any other EVM compatible wallet? As I have searched in Google, this is the details of the Ascendum testnet. So, we just have to copy all of this stuff, all right? So, what I'm going to do is that I will go back to Rabby, and then you see right here down below, by default network is Ethereum. So, I am going to go for the custom network, all right? So, let's say I'm going to type Ascendum.
So, since there are none, so what I'm going to do is that I will add custom network.
And then, afterwards, click this again, add custom network.
So, remember this, the chain ID is 1337.
And for the network name is Ascendum.
The RPC URL should be this one.
testnet.
ascendum.com.
And for the currency symbol, so ASE.
All right?
So, block explorer, so the same thing as the RPC.
And then we confirm.
All right.
Now, let's close this.
So, I'm going to go back to the custom network.
And I will choose Ascendum. The reason why my 100 ASE is not yet arrived because as of now, it is still drip queued. That means it might take a while till the 100 ASE is reflected right here in my balance. So, this is just a testnet balance, guys. While we are waiting for the 100 ASE, so let's try to run a node.
So, our laptop is a validator, so most chains say decentralized and then require data center to participate. You see the comparison here between Ethereum, Solana, and Ascendum.
So, for this one, we have the Raspberry Pi 4 50k ASE to bond. And you could see um solution. A chain design for home validators. So, why we should run a validator right here on Ascend Tum. So, we could earn rewards through block subsidies and priority fees. And our stake is a security guarantee. And governance voting with real weight. And there are four ways, guys, to start validating. So, either we could install the desktop app, which would happen uh this quarter already.
And of course, there's also what we call the VPS one-liner, the CLI install, and the manual uh setup. All right? Now, for the CLI, guys, this is uh usually for dev stuff. So, I'm I'm not a dev, but at least um you already know that the CLIs are meant for devs. But, I'm I'm just an end user, by the way.
So, just to give you guys an idea about this. All right? And and there are more stuff that you can actually find here.
Well, for the explorer, the faucet, and more. So, So, for me, guys, I welcome the fact that these um layer one blockchains and protocols are building something that is um that could withstand um this threat known as quantum. So, when the time comes that um quantum computers are already in full force, and it could cause a threat to the blockchain industry, at least Ascend Tum is one of those that could solve that issue in which their blockchain and their entire ecosystem are quantum resistant. So, for now, they are still on the testnet. They're not yet on the mainnet as of this time I'm recording this video. So, let's see later on when they're going to um deploy their mainnet in the future.
So, there you have it, guys. At least I have shared to you regarding Ascend Tum, along with its features, the ongoing incentivized testnet, and so much more.
So, if you want more details, all the resource links are just found right here on the video description. And if you think that this video is quite helpful for you, kindly do not hesitate or think twice in sharing this to your crypto and non-crypto friends out there, especially those who are still enthusiastic about crypto and web 3 in general. So, I do have a question for you. Did you enjoy watching this video? Has this video helped you a lot and give some value in any way? And what do you think about it?
Just let me know right here in the comment section. And guys, one more thing. I'm inviting you to smash the subscribe button and turn on the notifications for more videos like this.
So, right here in my home studio, this is Jeff AKA Nomad Fury, and I'll see you all next time.
