In English grammar, modals of deduction express different levels of certainty about situations: 'must be' indicates 100% certainty (e.g., 'She must be working'), 'can't be' indicates 100% certainty that something is impossible (e.g., 'She can't be here'), and 'might/may be' indicates 30-50% uncertainty (e.g., 'He might be ill'). These structures help speakers make logical inferences based on available evidence.

Added:All right, so by the way, this is B1 B2 levels grammar right now.
Perfect. How do you feel?
>> [sighs and gasps] >> Actually, I'm feeling great today. I don't understand.
You?
>> [laughter] >> Oh, yeah, I'm feeling also very energetic and today except that I'm a little bit ill. So, unfortunately I know, I know.
I know. I'm drinking a lot of teas and everything, but let's see. All right.
So, now we're going to talk about something really important.
It's going to be about making deductions. But, what is the meaning of deduction? Do you know what it is?
So, in here we're going to use four things generally. It will be about models.
But, for example Somebody is not there. And you're making deductions. You're making assumptions like These kind of sentences if you want to create, we're going to use this kind of sentence. Is it okay? Okay.
So, if something if you are a 100% sure, you're going to say must be. So, for example, I'm calling you and you don't answer and you and I know why you didn't answer this answer the call. So, that's why I'm making a comment like, "Ah, she must be working." For example, she must be working. So, that's why she didn't pick up the phone.
Is it okay? Okay. Wonderful. So, the opposite of must be, it will be can't be. Mhm. Okay.
>> 100% sure that something is cannot be happened.
Yes.
She must be working.
>> Okay, she must be >> [laughter] >> All right, for your sake 90% >> [laughter] >> Okay. But, 100% that you are sure that something can't be happening. Be sure almost all of us can't be with the news.
Let's say that I met your mother. All right, I know your mother.
One of one of your friends comes at me and tells me, "Ah, look at her. She is Yağmur's mother." She tells me. So, in that moment I realize, "Ah, she can't be Yağmur's mother because I met her." So, I am 100% sure that person is not your mother.
Is it okay? Okay. Exactly. Or I'm seeing a woman and I'm saying like, "Ah, she must be Yağmur's mother." So, I'm 100% sure that that person is your mother.
Is it okay? Okay. Great. Perfect. So, we have another thing which is may might be. This is the same again that we discussed earlier, but there is 50 or 40% >> [laughter] >> 30 50 percent of something that is real. Okay.
>> Okay. So, you say that the man didn't come to the office today.
So, I'm not sure. I don't know what happened. So, he might be ill. Mhm. He might be ill.
Okay. Perfect. Is it okay? Okay. Great.
So, Yağmur Ah, yes.
>> [laughter] >> Yes, I'm ready.
Okay. So, let's say that your co-worker didn't come to the office today. Mhm. I'm I'm asking I'm asking you like, "Where is he?" He might be ill. Maybe. I don't know. I'm not sure. Exactly. So, he might be ill. He might be ill. Exactly.
So, here's another thing. Hold on a second.
Let me think what happened. For example, so look at Emre over there. So, make assumptions. Make deductions about what he's doing or what is he thinking.
He might be happy.
Okay.
He must be >> [laughter] >> Yeah, that's it. So He must be happy.
>> [laughter] >> Because because >> Because he is working at >> [laughter] >> Ah, yes, of course. Of course. Yes, yes, yes, definitely. [laughter] Perfect. Perfect. So, let's create another scenario. What can it be?
Well, let's create this scenario. Okay, tell me what happened.
I'm your friend. Ah, what happened? What happened?
>> [laughter] >> You looks unhappy. Me? Yes. Ah, so hold on a second. I'm laughing.
>> [laughter] >> Like this.
I'm angry right now and you're coming. I'm like, "Gaye, Gaye."
I have a question, Gaye.
So, today you look unhappy. Why?
Unfortunately.
Actually, I have a deduction.
Deduction?
All right. Okay. Sorry, sometimes I I cannot uh through sentences. Oh, that's okay. That's okay. NO, NO, NO.
TODAY I'M TURKISH person and I continue to >> [laughter] >> What was going on right now?
Okay, so confused.
All right. So, so I I had a really bad day. I don't want to break up my with my boyfriend. I had a bad bad day. What? I don't know.
This thing I I don't feel like it. I just don't feel like it. No, I just don't feel like it. Actually, I had a deduction. So Deduction? [laughter] Okay.
>> [gasps] >> Maybe [laughter and snorts] You must be having bad day.
>> Exactly. I must be having a bad day.
Ah, yes. Because Because you are 100% sure that I look really sad. So, I must be having a really bad day. This is it.
Okay, I understand. For example, let's say that my friend is in the garden right now. All right? So, I'm asking you like, "Yağmur, have you seen my friend? Where is she?" She must be in the garden.
Exactly. Okay. Ah, look at the man. He just left. Mhm. Okay. So, I'm asking you like, "Where Where is the man?" Ah, actually He can't be here. He can't be here. That's it. Okay.
That's it. Okay. This is all. Is it okay? Yes. Okay. Okay.
>> [laughter] >> Perfect. Do you have any questions, Yağmur? No. These were models of deduction and this is something we use all the time. So Yes. Thank you so very much. And maybe you can also write some sentences examples in the comment section and we're going to read these. All right.
>> Okay. So, thank you and hope to see you in our next video. Bye-bye. See you. See you.
