This video analyzes how box office performance can be influenced by political criticism, using the example of The Mandalorian and Grogu's reported 70% box office drop and Pedro Pascal's response blaming political factors and media bias. The content illustrates how entertainment industry figures may attribute commercial failures to external political factors rather than internal film quality issues, demonstrating the complex relationship between artistic criticism, political discourse, and commercial success in the entertainment industry.

Pedro Pascal LOSES IT After Mandalorian & Grogu BOX OFFICE DISASTER! A Star Wars FAILURE For DISNEY!Added:
All righty, everyone. Welcome back. It is now June 1st of 2026. And given that The Mandalorian and Grou is now officially labeled as a box office disaster, given that we have two major motion pictures out there that are destroying it at the box office, you have horror films like Obsession and Back Rooms that are just dominating this movie at the box office. And in the midst of all of this, you have Disney CEO Josh Demora going into damage control mode. And now you have Pedro Pascal going into damage control mode, who is the star of this movie, who plays Dingjarun, the Mandalorian, in this movie. This is Mike Zero. Subscribe if you're new and like this video to see future updates. You can also follow me at Mike01. I thank you also very much for the great and kind support. Now, between the ABC ratings disasters week by week and how you have multiple box office disasters on Disney's hands, when it comes to the overall average over the course of the past couple of years, this is exactly why Josh Demorro so far is most certainly the worst CEO uh when it comes to Bob Iger. I think that he is a worse CEO by by comparison. There's no question about it because of how politically vocal he really is and blames everything on politics. But Pedro Pascal, all right, the main actor of this movie, decided to once again go into damage control mode. This time, not so much about the reviews, per se, but more so focused on the Hollywood trades out there, the big Hollywood trades.
Really just labeling this movie as a box office nightmare for Disney and how it did indeed have a 70% drop, I believe it was. uh over what was reported for this movie, which is not good news at all, especially for its second week. Now, interestingly enough, with The Mandalorian and Grou already performing terrible at the box office, as films like Back Rooms and Obsession dominating the latest Star Wars film at the box office in theaters, one monumental development going on now involves more to do with Pedro Pascal going into damage control mode in the midst of the Mandalorian and Grou box office nightmare for Disney. Now, Pedro delivered the following. This industry right now is upside down where you have once trusted critics that supported your product who now decide to give you a bad rep just to get on Trump's good side.
And when I'm browsing through the trades, what I find so insulting and offensive is that they are already jumping to conclusions that our film failed at the box office. And unfortunately, I think that this is a case where Trump and this administration have the media right now. and it's a living definition of authoritarian leadership and rule. I am asking everyone to not trust the trades because you can't really go by them anymore when a new Disney film arrives in theaters.
But I think what shocks me both as an actor and as a person is when you have so many of these MAGA folks out there that take pride in celebrating a film failing at the box office. And they are so desperately hoping for that to happen with our film, The Mandalorian and Grou.
Anyone out there telling you that this film failed or is performing poorly right now is an outright liar and a fool. And I wouldn't be too surprised if they are a Trump supporter. Now guys, let me just stop here quick. Why does everything have to resort to calling someone a Trump supporter is beyond me.
It seems like that that is their only, you know, gas left in the tank when it comes to an argument. Oh, just label them as a Trump supporter if they're, you know, criticizing a movie or calling out the facts. that don't work well in the studios favor. That's basically what's happening, right? That's all they really have left in their argument, in their debate. The reality of the situation is this. The major Hollywood trades out there that are labeling this movie as a box office flop already has a lot to do with the fact that yes, it is indeed a fact because this movie is going up against many movies out there.
You have uh like I said before, Obsession, you've got Back Rooms, both of which are wildly successful. And about Obsession, that movie actually uh beat The Mandalorian and Grou with what was it like a $1 million budget or something like that. Craziness. Now, the other thing is that you have He-Man coming out on Wednesday. That's another film that's going to make matters worse for The Mandalorian and Grou going into its third week. However, he continues, "But unfortunately, we see these claims now," Pedro says, running wild with the trades, the many Hollywood trades that just aren't giving us a fair shake anymore. "This is the best Star Wars film ever, as far as I'm concerned, and people out and people ought to damn respect the hard work that many members of the cast and the crew put into this film. The fact that our film is being treated this unfairly just translates to how this noise that we can't seem to get rid of is coming from your traditional racist MAGA crowd out there that has a personal vendetta at Disney and Lucasfilm. All because they embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion, which is their number one priority, by the way, over storytelling. I am begging everyone to just pay no attention to the trades and the media for the time being who for some reason are going out of their way to discount our latest Star Wars film. A film that I myself work so hard on to fulfill the story of Dingjarun the Mandalorian.
Now I think I deserve more respect. John Favver deserves more respect for everything that he sacrificed to make this film possible. And people need to stop blaming Disney and putting out false narratives about our film's financial performance. Now, before I get to what Pedro has to close with, let me just say one thing about that. Notice how he says that diversity, equity, and inclusion is their number one priority over storytelling. Well, there's your overall issue right there. Now, look, let's be very uh truthful about this.
This movie doesn't really have anything to do with DEI or it doesn't really have so much to do with a upfront agenda or anything truly offensive, but you do have, you know, the DEI pilots in this movie. That's one thing, but that's a minor thing in the movie. The thing that about this movie that is putting it into the box office disaster category is that it's very bland. It feels like three mediocre, low-budget Star Wars TV show episodes bundled up together into a movie. Uh, the color grading is way off.
It doesn't really have that uplifting color grading, so you don't have that traditional feel-good Star Wars cinematography.
Also, the writing, there's no stakes in this movie, and there's a lot of flaws in the overall plot. That's just a mere number of all the flaws in this film. I can go on and on. At the end of the day, this is a movie meant for kids in the single digits. I'm talking like seven, eight, nine years old. That's really what it's catered for. Now, he goes on to conclude, I think it's insulting, Pedro says, and wildly offensive. And what I say to myself is, you can't take the noise so seriously because it's coming from people that don't matter in this world. The MAGA crowd who have destroyed this country economically and on a personal level with our society. it would be best for everyone to just not read too much into the Hollywood trades right now about our film's performance.
So basically what he's saying is don't look over here, look over here is what he's saying, right? He doesn't want you to look at the Hollywood trades and what they're talking about the Mandalorian and Grou that there was indeed a 70% drop off at the box office in its second week. And we can only expect it to get worse in its third week where you have He-Man coming out in theaters which by the way a lot of people are anticipating that movie regardless of the fact that you had Jared Leto in that film. I think that movie could very well perform better than The Mandalorian and Grou. If you even look at the trailer statistics when you're going by, you know, the views and you're going by the metrics there, you can tell that there's more anticipation going on for He-Man over the Mandalorian and Grou. And that's the current state of Star Wars right now.
But overall, I would love to hear what everyone has to say about, you know, Peter about Pedro Pascal's overall uh, you know, view on Star Wars, about his view on the Hollywood trades and how he's blame gaming. He's playing the victim card here and he's really just trying to go out of his way to really just say everything is because of Trump supporters. But overall, let me know what you guys have to say about all this below in the comments. And if you guys did enjoy the content for today, make sure to drop a thumbs up on this video to support the channel. And I'll catch you guys later.
