ABIA Govt, Partners Harp On Need For Regular Eye CareAdded:
Eye care remains one of the most valuable yet often neglected aspects of health care.
To ensure our residents receive proper eye treatment and awareness, the Chima Anyaso Foundation, in collaboration with the Abia State Ministry of Health and other partners, embarked on a 5-day sensitization and medical outreach across the eight wards in Bende Local Government Area of the state.
Speaking at the event, the Abia State Commissioner for Health, Professor Enoch Oche, stressed [snorts] that the eyes remain one of the most important organs of the body and called for greater attention to eye health through regular checkups and prompt treatment.
He also [snorts] urged well-meaning Nigerians and indigenes of Abia State to continue partnering with the Ministry of Health in improving health care delivery and enhancing the well-being of citizens. On behalf of the Ministry of Health, we want to thank you, our brother, honorable Dr. Chima Anyaso of Oji for remembering our people, remembering that eye health is very very critical to quality life.
Eye health is critical to health in general.
And that the people deserve this help.
And that the people deserve this attention.
This project is in partnership with Abia State Government, and I also encourage other members of the community to embark on such projects with the government in order to better the life of the community members. Representatives of the partnering organizations also highlighted the importance of regular eye examinations and early treatment in preventing avoidable blindness and other eye related diseases. Once your eye is functional, I think you will contribute a lot for the society.
I think the eye is one of the most important organs in the body and everybody should take their eye care very serious.
Some beneficiaries of the outreach expressed appreciation to the organizers, describing the program as timely and impactful. I found out that I have like sight issue.
But I came here and they treated it really I'm okay now.
Procedure is very fast and they have the best doctors and after checking they are about to give me my glasses and everything is okay and I'm happy that they have given me treatment for the eyes. The eye care outreach is one of the several initiatives aimed at improving access to quality health care services for rural communities and promoting awareness on the importance of healthy vision.
