The juxtaposition of cutting-edge autonomous intelligence with a mundane trip to Dollar General perfectly captures the peculiar banality of modern technological progress. It is a striking reminder that we have engineered sophisticated tools just to automate the most uninspired errands of human existence.

Tesla FSD drives me to Dollar General
Added:Directions to Dollar General.
What's cool here is that when your head is somewhere, it will tell you how much battery you'll have left when you get there.
If you do a round trip, how much battery you will have left.
It'll tell you the weather at that location.
It's kind of a harder road to get out.
Three lanes.
There's no cars, so easy peasy.
I don't really like what it's doing there.
With that.
I'd rather just go straight. I don't know why it's I mean, that's just navigation, but guess I'll just let it do its thing.
So, here I can set different modes.
How fast I want it to go, so standard usually seems to be within like 5 miles of the speed limit.
Hurry is like within 10, and then Mad Max seems to go within like 15.
From what I've seen.
I usually I like standard.
Um then it lets you choose how if you want it to park or not. You can do curb side park.
Um Just going to do curb side.
>> So, it can see red lights.
It is tricky. I don't know. Is a car coming quick?
Go, go, go. Okay.
It's a close one.
It can notice those people over there.
Slow down a little bit.
So, I was driving at night the other day and there was a there was a lot of deer on one part of the road and sometimes it would slow down, sometimes it wouldn't.
Um I don't know if it noticed the deer or not.
Then it started to rain.
It was dark and it was raining. And then FSD said that it was like um What was the wording?
Like it was limited.
I forgot what the wording was, but basically it was struggling to see the road because it was dark and rainy.
But and then there was another part there was a I'm trying to remember what it was called, like an emergency vehicle with its lights and sirens on.
And uh it pulled over to the side of the road and until it passed.
So, that was cool.
It does very good with like road construction. I've gone through a couple roads where there was road construction and it avoided it.
But, it's definitely one of those areas where like I'm on higher alert just to make sure it doesn't like try to go into the construction area.
So, so far like on basic roads, like I don't even like I'm not even worried about it.
Like it does great.
But, when it comes to like weird like back roads, that's where I'm like paying more attention, trying to make sure it's driving okay. But, it's done really good. Like there's some turns where like there's like a turn and the curb is really close or something and it it avoids it. It avoids >> [snorts] >> curbs and stuff.
I have to say probably the the most awesome experience is just for to be sitting in a parking lot and to start FSD and it will just back you out of the parking lot, back you, you know, drive you out of the out of that area.
So, like when it comes to just driving on these roads, like I'm already kind of used to it, but like for it to have to drive me out of a parking lot is still pretty like feels pretty crazy.
And to have it to park as well. Like it will choose a parking spot for you and park.
Like this one, I can set it. I'll set it to um to have it park.
And that way you can see how it's going to park.
Hopefully it will choose a good parking spot.
Kind of would be nice if it like let me choose the parking spot.
It just like waited a little bit and then it's like which one do you want?
Since this is like a new car, I've been parking like farther away, you know, basically like across the street.
Walking half a mile to the to the store.
>> [snorts] >> Um So usually I I I when it gets to the parking lot, I'll turn it off and just park myself cuz I can I'll I like to choose a different parking spot farther away.
Okay, so it's got the Dollar General on there.
So if it was me, I'll park somewhere here on the side or like on this across the road.
I feel like it's going to choose something probably closer.
Okay. Okay.
Wait.
It's backing in. Ha.
That's crazy.
It's backing in.
Why did it choose to back in? That's That's interesting.
It just chose to back in on its own.
That's crazy.
Okay.
And it's done.
