Woodland Park Zoo’s lion cub sisters join habitat, parents ahead of public debut

[00:00:00]Hey there Seattle, do you remember the lion cub sisters that were born at Woodland Park Zoo back in January? Well, they have reached a major milestone.

[00:00:09]Amari, whose name means moon in Swahili, weighs about 35 lb. Zawadi, meaning gift, weighs about 37.5 lb. Over the past week, the sisters have been acclimating to their outdoor home and bonding with their parents. Zoo staff also recently introduced the cubs to their father Tandi ahead of the cubs initial public appearances. We got a behind-the-scenes look at the cubs earlier this week. They were spotted cuddling with their parents, being a little camera shy. Woodland Park Zoo plans to begin with limited viewing opportunities starting next week.
