a rainy summer evening ️ reading weird lit, making soup, new books, staying cozy
Added:[music] Hi and hello everybody. It's Fern.
Welcome back to another weekly vlog.
Thank you so much for joining me. It is actually Wednesday, 400 p.m. on a Wednesday, and we are getting this vlog going. I just needed a couple of days to recover. I also was really busy earlier in the week, and then I honestly just took yesterday to just regulate my nervous system a little bit. Oh my gosh, I'm going to sneeze.
Also, I hope that the dishwasher isn't too noisy. I'm hoping the microphone helps. But yeah, I took yesterday as just kind of a slow day off really. I spent some really nice time out on the deck journaling, did a meditation, and just kind of had a chill day, which I feel was really needed with how busy I've been over the last few weeks.
Um, yeah, there's been a lot of things popping up for us lately, but things are kind of simmering down here for a little bit. I'm feeling so much better and yeah, I've missed y'all on the vlog. So, even though it's only been a few days, I'm back and I have just been getting some work done today. I have my laptop here. Oh my gosh, it is so nice having a working laptop again. I cannot even begin to tell you. It is just very very nice to to be able to move about and just have another work portal I guess.
How many work portals do I need? I don't know. But have an iced tea here as well, which is delicious. And I also have my Arvark box for July. This showed up yesterday evening and I'm dying to crack into this. So, let's just unbox it right now.
I saw a comment a few weeks ago of someone being like, "I don't know how you cannot like tear into packages right away because sometimes I will have a package sitting for weeks." I feel like it's something to do with my brain. Oh.
[snorts and gasps] Oh my gosh, you guys. I just spotted flowers coming in on my Hoya serpents.
And if you are someone who follows me on my plant channel, then you know how insane that is. That Hoya has never flowered for me before. Oh my gosh, that's crazy. Um, but anyways, as I was saying, I think that it has to be some like ADHD thing or something like I just even This is the thing, okay?
Or I think this is the thing with ADHD or maybe neurode divergence in general.
I put off things that I want to do like my time management, my time, whatever, um chronic overwhelm. It doesn't differentiate between things that I don't want to do and things that I do want to do, which is why I will start something and then I won't finish it.
I.e. my house that is currently half painted or like my graveyard of projects that I've started. Like there's no I can really want to do something but I won't be able to like summon the motivation to do it. Do you know what I mean? Anyways, so I honestly feel like the package thing because sometimes like I'll be so excited about a package but then I'm like no. And of course vlogging is like part of the equation because I want to wait until I'm vlogging but really I can pick up the camera anytime if I really wanted to open a package. So I feel like that's just my brain.
Anyways, we I don't know why I'm going on this tangent right now. Let's open this Arvark box. Say my little spiel.
I'm affiliated with Arvar. So, this was gifted and like, thank God. And thank you so much to everybody who uses my code with Artvark to try them out because that is how they I'm able to keep working with them. You know what I mean? If nobody used my code, then they'd probably be like, "Okay, bye, girl." But since people have used my code, I still get to work with them and it is a highlight of my month. So yeah, let's crack into this. Okay, I actually don't really Oh yeah, I do actually remember. Oh my gosh. Okay, I'm actually so curious to read the books that I got this month. So I obviously had to get the new Paul Tremble. Have I read anything from Paul Tremble? No. Do I own like three of his books that I haven't read yet? Yes. Um, but I don't know. It was an option and I've heard very mixed things about this, but I'm curious. This is like a tech like AI sci-fi horror kind of situation. And I mean, the cover and the title, Dead But Dreaming of Electric Sheep. Like, I am just so intrigued by this. I hope that I like it, you guys. Um, I've also heard that this has some experimental kind of formatting. Oh my gosh. Yeah, look at the page that I just opened it to. Like, that is very, very intriguing to me.
Speaking of uh formatting, I am finally going to be reading House of Leaves next month in August, and I'm so excited. So, stay tuned for my thoughts on that. But yeah, I just love when there's anything um any like mixed media or experimental formatting what experimental or experimental formatting. I'm just really I'm on board for that. So, I have high hopes for this, but I truly do not know what to expect.
Um, and then this was kind of like not a random pick, but I feel like I don't often go for the thriller pick because a lot of thrillers don't really warrant a physical copy for me these days. That's like something that I've learned. like I'm happy to just read them on my Coobo.
Every once in a while there is a really good thriller though that I do like to own a physical copy of. But anyways, um I saw this one and I decided I would give it a go. I also have not been reading a lot of thrillers this year, so I feel like that needs to change because I mean I had a rough year with thrillers last year, but when you come across a really good one, it's just so much fun.
So I will keep trying. This is some type of domestic thriller. I mean, I don't know the plot, but I think that we can tell from the title and the cover, The Housewife. So, I don't know if I have high hopes for this, but hopefully it will be a fun time. I don't know. I don't really know what my track record is with Arvark thrillers, if I've even read many of the thrillers that they've offered. Okay.
And then this is probably the book that I am most excited for. It's so short. I wasn't expecting it to be this skinny.
So, this is the new Chuck Tingle Fabulous Bodies. Um, this follows like a fashion influencer who is also like a grave robber or something like what?
Yeah. Moonlights is a grave robber to make ends meet. Says, "Gory, outrageous, and full of masterful showmanship. This is one spectacle you don't want to miss." Blurbed by CJ Lead. Now, I've only read one Chuck Tingle. It was actually last summer that I read Camp Damascus and I loved the writing. So, I've just been collecting every Chuck Tingle book since then, even though I'm behind. Uh, I want to read this one soon. Maybe I will put this in my kind of up next stack because I think it'll be perfect for the summertime. I mean, look at that. It's like the such a summery cover. How many pages is this?
229 pages. So, that's a pretty quick read. There's so many people blurbed on here. CJ Lee, T. Kingfisher, Rachel Harrison, Olivie Blake.
So, I have high hopes for this one. This is probably the one that I have the highest hopes for because the other two I just really don't know what to expect.
And I don't know what to expect with this one either, but I'm just hoping that it's a fun time. And like I said, I think that I really enjoy Chuck Tingle's writing style, so hopefully that's gonna work well for me. And then, oh, we have the ears back. We have the ears back.
Uh, when I opened my last Arvar box, the bookmarks did not have any ears [laughter] and it said something like, "We're getting a haircut and we're in the awkward grow out phase," which I think is a really cute way of them like I don't know if they ran out of ear bookmarks or what, but [snorts] um I love this That is cute.
Love the Artvark bookmarks. And then the little card for this month. Um I think Long Island Girls was the other one that I was or maybe die for me. I don't know. There there was a few that I was intrigued on this month, but I just decided to choose a thriller for a wild card. So that is my Arvark box. And I'm actually just about to choose. Well, actually, I thought that I was going to have to choose my next read, but then I remembered that something has come up on Libby for me. Okay, so I am almost finished with Di Diavala. Almost finished. I'm like 90 something% of the way through. So, I'm thinking like what's going to be my next read? And then I remembered that my Libby hold for A Short Stay in Hell is available. So, that's definitely what I'm going to be starting next. I wanted to read it in June, but it wasn't available on Libby and now it is mid July, so I'm going to be going for it and I'm very excited about that one. That one's just a novella, so it should be a quick read.
But yeah, and I guess a little update on Diavala. It is just an okay read for me.
Like, I don't know. I guess I was expecting more from it. It's not doing anything wrong. It's just not really setting itself apart from other haunted house books except for the fact that it's set in Italy. Like that's cool and different, but I don't know. I don't know. It's just it's not wowing me. It's not wowing me, which is a bit of a bummer, but that's okay. It was It was a fun read, but I can't lie. I am just kind of like itching to get it all wrapped up so that I can move on to my next read, which is never a great sign, but yeah, a little bit of a let down.
And I know that some of you will be shocked because people love Diavala, but I can't lie. Well, hello. Good morning. Look at what I am about to feast on. Cherries and strawberries. Are you kidding me? This looks so delicious. I already had some toast um for breakfast and now I'm just having this bowl of fruit.
Also have plums in the house. We have been staying stocked up on fruit because I'm just obsessed right now. Like it's so good. I mean, I guess that's a summer thing. Like I feel like summer is the best time to just be gorging on fruit. I would love to plant some fruit trees in the yard. Plums. I don't even know if you can grow plums here. I'm assuming you Well, I don't know, honestly. I don't think I've ever known anyone with a plum tree here, but I don't see why not. I don't know.
Maybe it's like hard to grow or a lot of work or something. Cherries I would love to grow, but again, I feel like that's like out of my wheelhouse, outside of my wheelhouse for sure, but I just want to grow more fruit. I have a lot of berries as we know. The blackberries are just coming in right now as well. are coming in early, of course. I feel like everything is like that now, which is scary. But the blackberries are coming in, as we know, I have blueberries, strawberries. I need to grow like 10 times the amount of strawberries that I have going, though. I grow raspberries, tberries, watermelon, which I was just checking on my melon the other day, and I do have like a tiny little watermelon coming in. Um, and I'm trying to grow cantaloupe, but I think I started it too late. So, but yeah, I just something about growing fruit. It's just so rewarding and it just feels so like magical or like tropical or exotic or something like it just it blows my mind that I can grow fruit. I don't know why. It just seems so much crazier than growing vegetables.
Anyways, we need to talk about a short stay in hell because I started it last night. I'm 50% of the way through. It's a short little book. I don't know how many pages it is, but I'd guess it's like around 100 pages.
Reading it on my coobo. Um, and oh my gosh, this is like exactly the kind of book that I love. This like existential, philosophical, um, dreadfilled little horror book. It's like satire though. Like, oh my gosh, it's cracking me up. I was telling Shane basically the whole plot and like details of things that are going on with it when we were on our walk this morning and that is a telltale sign that I am obsessed with the book because he was even saying the other day he's like I feel like I haven't been hearing about the books you've been reading lately and I was like well I just don't really have much to say like I only really am telling him the details of a book or like gushing about a book when it's really wowing me and the last one that I was telling him about was the correspondent, which I love the correspondent so much. Um, we went to like a work barbecue on the weekend um for his work and someone else there is a reader and we were talking about the correspondent because she had read it too and we were both just like, "Oh my god, like it was so good." I still think about that book.
I mean, I only read it like less than a couple months ago, but gosh, that's going to be one of my best of the year for sure. But this one, a short stay in hell, it is if you like Ian Reed, you will like this book, I think. Um, so we're following this Mormon man who dies and is sent to hell. Um, and he gets there and he's told uh, Mormonism isn't the one true religion. The one true religion is I forget what it is. It's like zo something something. It's a real religion, but only practiced by a really small amount of people. So, he gets there and he's and the like demon that's down there is like, "No, um, you weren't part of the one true religion, so now you're in hell." And he sends him to he's like, "Oh, you loved books when you were alive, so I'm going to send you to this version of hell." And he sends him to this infinite library and tells him that he has to find the book, a book that is the story of his life, like perfectly told, and then like submit it into a slot and then he can be free of hell.
But this library contains any book that could ever exist.
Um, and even books that like don't make sense. So most of the books are just like random numbers and symbols together. Like there's a book for any combination that could exist. Like it's so mindbending. And he f he comes across this other group of people and there's all these like weird rules.
And it is just like so I was cackling.
And I feel like I rarely laugh out loud during books, but I just was not expecting this to be told in such a satirical way.
Um, so they're like looking and they've been down there for weeks and all they have found are just like random symbols and letters. Like they haven't even found any real words in the books yet.
Um, so obviously they're like losing hope and like starting to, you know, get a little starting to get a little crazy feeling. And oh my gosh, actually I don't even want to I don't even want to like give any scenes or anything away because you just have to read it. But the sack thing, if you've read it, the sack thing is what was cracking me up and how they're like doing all these mathematical equations trying to like draw meaning out of it. Oh my god. Oh my god. This book is just it's unsettling because this is the type of horror that unsettles me when it's like existential dread. like the idea of dying and then being trapped in this like this space for eternity.
This like weird it's like a liinal space. Um it's just exactly the kind of horror that I like. Like this is way more interesting and unsettling to me than just like a haunted house. You know what I mean? Like it's just the kind of horror that I love. So, and I'm so glad because I had high expectations of this book and it's definitely meeting them. I think it's going to be five stars and I feel like my five stars are kind of few and far between now.
But yeah, it's so freaking good, you guys. So, I am loving that. Like, I keep thinking about it. I'm like getting ready and like getting this chopping my strawberries and I'm like, "Oh my god."
Like, I just want to read the rest of that book today, but I have to water my plants and then I have to film this afternoon. But I'll probably finish it tonight because like I said, I'm already 50% of the way through. It's also supposed to rain later today and potentially thunderstorm. I saw something saying that there's a chance of a thunderstorm rolling in. So, that would just be so perfect if it thunderstorm. And I'm thinking since it's going to be rainy later today that I should make a chicken noodle soup because I have soy curls. I have uh garden potatoes. And then we'll just have to pick up some like carrots and celery and anything else that I might need. I have fresh herbs in the garden and that just sounds so nice because I know it's supposed to rain later in the day, like close to supper time, I think. So that just sounds so good. I think that's what I'm going to do. So yeah, I'm going to eat and then I'm going to get all my stuff done for today and hopefully have a cozy little evening.
>> We need to go.
>> What?
Oh, I saw it. I saw it in the car.
That's funny.
[singing] [singing] It's begun.
What will your power?
What will you do with [music] your power?
What will you do with your power?
>> [music] >> Whoever's keeps turn This is not fitting.
>> It's not fitting.
>> I still need to put eight more cups of water.
>> Where?
Where?
How the heck are we going to transfer this?
power.
Okay. Cozy bear.
You cozy little girl. Here.
How cute is me, honey? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
It's raining out. It's raining out.
Okay, it is raining out. Not that hard, but it's better than nothing. I will take it. Because it started raining when we were in the grocery store, but then by the time we got home, it was stopping already. And I was like, "What do you mean?" Like, I wanted it to storm tonight. And then it started raining rain raining again after we finished eating. So, I obviously came out here as soon as possible so that I could enjoy it. The vibes are correct. It is nice and cool out. It's not super windy, so I can have my curtains closed, which is nice. Oh, the wind literally just started picking up when I said that.
Great. Great. Well, I guess we'll see. I might have to tie off the curtains, but we'll see. I just love feeling all enclosed in here, you know. Um, either way, I am going to read my book. I'm actually just boiling some water for tea right now. I'm going to have my tea out here. I am going to finish a short stay in hell hopefully and um just enjoy the weather because oh my gosh, it's just so stunning.
I think I am going to have to tie off the curtains. They're like flapping now.
Uh oh.
And they're going to be bothering my flowers that are hanging there. This is what it looks like.
So beautiful. And I can hear water like trickling down.
Hopefully it starts raining a bit harder. It would be really nice if we got some thunder and lightning, but that barely ever happens here, unfortunately.
You never know, though. You never know.
They did say it was a possibility, so we'll see. But yeah, I'm just going to get all cozy and get some reading done.
I finished the book.
Five stars.
That was so good. Uh, it just it just gets me this type of [snorts] story, this type of existential dreadfilled weird little story. I just I love these types of books. That's something that I'm really finding this year is I love these just like mindbendy philosophical um types of stories. And I guess they are horror but not in the way that you would think.
just in the way that like it's horrific to think about, you know, but there's not like jump scares or like it made me think a lot about liinal spaces and back rooms and like that type of vibe.
The setting was just so strange, but I felt like I could picture it so clearly in my mind.
And yeah, it was just it was so good.
Such a quick read. Definitely lived up to my expectations. I really want to get a physical copy. Um, did my nail just break? Cuz I will be mad. I will actually cry it if I break a nail again because they're finally starting to grow.
Um, maybe just my polish is getting old. Anyways, I feel like I said most of my thoughts on this one this morning.
I will say that I think I preferred the first half. I thought the first half was stronger, but the second half was still good and it was unwell, just crazy.
So, that was a a success. Really, really loved it. And I'm glad because like I was saying, I feel like I haven't had a book like that in a while.
And now I'm so stumped on what to read next. I feel like I should read a physical book because I have been reading on my Coobo. I've read so many books in a row on my Coobo and I love reading on my Coobo, but I also have like a million physical books and I don't even remember what I picked out for my July TBR anymore. And I don't know if I've even read anything off of it.
Like I've just gone off the rails here.
But I'm going to go in. I'm going to do my do my night routine and get all ready for bed. It is now 8:30. I was sitting here scrolling for a little while.
[snorts] It's 8:30, so I'm going to go do all my bedtime stuff. And then I'm actually thinking of picking up like a weird literary fiction book because I can't stop thinking about Just Watch Me, a book that I read earlier this month, which was just like a weird and that book was compared to or like comped. Yeah, compared. That's what comped means. Duh. It was compared to Big Swiss. And I have Big Swiss, but I haven't read it yet. And I'm like, okay, I loved Just watch me so much.
Should I finally read Big Swiss?
Should I finally do it? And I also have a good person, which is another just like weird weird girl lit book that's popular right now. I got that from Book of the Month last month. So, I think I might read one of those. But then I also want to start a summer read.
And we actually might go to the beach this weekend if the weather's good.
So, I guess I could start a like summery read then on the weekend.
Tomorrow's Friday. It's like literally almost the weekend already. But I don't know. We'll see what I end up picking. I just have no idea what I'm really in the mood for.
I don't know.
But yeah, this was lovely. Feels really good to have like read a book in basically 24 hours as well.
It was a short one, but very, very good.
So, I'm going to head inside now. I'm stalling because it's just like so nice and chill out here right now, but I don't want to go to bed too late. So, I'm going to head in.
Good morning everybody. I have the monkey here with me. Right, baby bear?
Yeah, she just did a boo boo. Yeah, I'm telling them that. I'm telling them that you did. [laughter] Hello. Good morning. Um, why do I feel brain dead today? 11:44 a.m. Just had my lunch.
spilled my lunch on my sweater. I had leftover chicken noodle soup. It's always better the next day, so it was delicious. Um Oh. Oh my gosh. I really need to redo my nails because they keep catching. And I actually do think I have a crack in the one that I was thinking I had a crack in yesterday. I actually do think that there it's like the type of crack.
What is it called? like a pressure fracture or something where it's not it's not officially broken off, but like I can see that it's cracked through. And I do think I remember hitting this finger into something. So that's very annoying.
I'm going to try not to cut it off. I'm going to try to just like work with it and repair it hopefully [sighs] because man, I just want my nails to grow out again. Um, but yeah, I didn't want to change, so I just tried to clean my sweater and hopefully it'll dry and look like nothing, but we'll see. Um, so last night I did indeed choose to go with Big Swiss, which I'm kind of regretting because I don't know if I'm really feeling this right now. And it's making me nervous that I'm not going to like this book. I'm about 10% in.
Um, what page? Yeah, I'm about 30 pages in. And I don't know. I mean, it's too early to tell really, but it's not immediately grabbing me. Like, I wanted something that was immediately going to be grabbing me. And I thought that it was going to because when I read Just Watch Me, which I know I keep talking about and the more like the more that I think about that book, I'm like, was that a five star read for me? Like, should I have given that five stars instead of four stars? But there were some things like the character was just I don't know. There were some things that I was just kind of like, okay.
[gasps] Like kind of like cringeworthy moments, but I guess she was just supposed to be like a weird freaking character. but it almost took me out of the story when she would say some things. Anyways, we're not talking about just watch me, but that book did just like immediately grab me and it felt like a very compulsive read, like I could just pick it up at any time um and enjoy my time with it.
But this one, like I don't know, I'm not immediately grabbed. I think that there is potential for me to be grabbed though once things start developing. So, if you haven't heard what this is about, uh I feel like this is such a popular book, but I will give you the rundown [clears throat] anyways. Um we're following our main character, Greta, who is in her 40s, I believe, and she has a job as a transcriptionist for this like sex therapist. So she she loves this job because she basically just gets to hear tea all day, like people talking in these therapy sessions and she like types them up. Um, and they're living in this seemingly small town where everybody kind of knows everybody and so she'll like come across people that she'll like recognize their voice from listening to the sessions and she's like, "Oh my god, like that's so and so. Like I know this and that about them." And um she becomes very fixated on this patient I guess who she calls big Swiss um like in her head because she's a woman from Switzerland. So um she becomes obsessed with this woman and then eventually they meet in person.
This hasn't happened yet for me in the book yet, but I know that they come across each other's paths and start having an affair. I believe Big Swiss is married, but they start having a relationship and um Big Swiss doesn't know that our main character like knows all of her trauma and all of this stuff about her because she is the freaking transcriptionist for Big Swiss's therapist. Like what do you mean? So like it sounds juicy. It sounds and like our main character, it's an obsession story. Our main character gets super obsessed with Big Swiss and um so like I love the sounds of it. I just I don't know. I think I don't know. Sometimes getting into a new book is just tough.
So, I can't judge it yet, but we'll see how it goes. I'm hoping that it's going to go well. Um, so yeah, started that last night, listened to a little bit of it this morning, and now I'm just about to do some tidying, film a video, potentially edit and upload a video as well.
But ideally, I would love for this vlog to be edited today so that I don't have to worry about on the weekend, but I just don't think that that's going to happen. [gasps] Also, don't know about a beach day tomorrow. It looks like the weather might actually be better on Sunday. So, maybe I will I'll have to talk to Shane, but maybe we'll end up doing that on Sunday instead because it's super gloomy today. It's not actively raining, but it's just like wet. Like, it must have rained all night. It's wet. It's cloudy. It's cold.
So, I don't know what the weather's going to be tomorrow. You never really know around here, honestly. I kind of wanted it to be sunny today. Like, I enjoyed my rainy day yesterday and now I'm kind of like, okay, I need the sunshine. I need the motivation. There's stuff I want to do today, but we have clouds again, which it is what it is.
Um, but yeah, that's that's the lowdown for what is going on for me today. So, I am going to get cracking here. And I don't even know what I'm doing tonight. Paint my nails.
I for sure need to do that. That's really my only plan. I don't know. Maybe we'll watch a movie or something. We'll see. But yeah, I will talk to y'all later. I need to take this hair out because it's hurting my head and it's overstimulating me at this point. We just got back from our walk and um already had dinner this afternoon. I filmed, edited, and uploaded a video for my main channel. It was just a quick one because it was a tag video, which was actually really fun to film. So, I'm glad that I got that done. I also posted a nail reel with Moon Cat today, which it's always just so exciting when I get to create content for them because I am just such a Mooncat fan girl.
So, I suppose it's been a productive day. And now for this evening, I want to quickly clean the kitchen. The dishwasher needs to be unloaded. And um there's just some dishes to be done and to be reloaded. So, I'm going to do that. And then I think I'm going to head out and weed the garden for a little bit. listen to my audio book, my weeding book, [laughter] which is Into the Blue, which I haven't made much progress on.
I'm only 3 hours into like a 15-hour audio book or something crazy like that because I've literally only done 3 hours, not even, because I listened to it at 1.3 time speed. Yeah, I have not been spending a lot of time out in the garden lately. And like the weeding is just it's a losing battle and I've kind of given up on it to be honest. But it is nice like I enjoy going out there and doing it when I have the time to. So, cuz I just get to listen to my audiobook and be outside, you know, and feel like I'm doing something. I don't remember what I was saying, but yeah, I'm going to clean the kitchen, weed the garden, and then I'm going to do my nails tonight because they they really need to be done. I have been wearing Reququum for a Swan. Let me turn the light on.
Reququum for a Swan. Actually, the lighting doesn't even really help. Um, it's a black polish with clear flakies and it also has some holographic sparkle in it.
So, I've been wearing that this week. I don't know what I'm going to change it to next. I need to decide. But, yeah, that is my plan for this Friday afternoon. It's looking like Sunday's going to be our beach day because it's supposed to be nicer weatherwise. Um, so I'll probably just be working on videos tomorrow, which I know I shouldn't be doing on the weekend, but I just need to I want to film a Patreon video. So, I'm going to be doing that tomorrow, I think, and hopefully reading more of Big Swiss as well.
[music] >> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Okay, it is currently Sunday. I filmed and edited yesterday and just kind of had a slow day, which was nice. I really did not get up too much. Um, so that was nice. And we were considering going to the beach today as I was saying, but the weather is just not great. It's kind of cloudy and windy. Um, it looks like it's supposed to be better like over the next week. So, we will potentially be doing that soon. Um, there's stuff that I want to get done today as well. So, yeah, I want to feel on track and prepared to go into a fresh week. So, I'm hoping to do some kind of like meal prep stuff today.
I have an update regarding Big Swiss. I am now halfway through and I'm happy to say that I'm really enjoying this. After they met each other, I became locked in.
I'm just so like it's just like juicy and weird and it's like a train wreck.
Like you can't look away. You're just like, "Oh my god, like where is this going? What is going to happen next?" Um so yeah, I'm really enjoying it now.
It's just it's so much different than I was expecting. It's a lot more um I thought that I don't know I guess I was expecting less characters more of more of us just following and we are just following one character and I guess it is like a character study but there's just more characters than I was expecting and it's the type of story that's very meandering like she will mention um somebody that she used to date and then we get a whole chapter that's just like you know however many years ago 10 years ago and their relationship. So, we're just meeting a lot of different characters and it's just talking about random things, like just very meandering is the best way that I would describe this. It's typically not my favorite thing when books have a lot of different characters, but now we seem to be more focused now that they've actually made contact and are entering into a relationship of sorts. we are a lot more focused on just our main character and big Swiss. Anyway, so yeah, I am really enjoying this now. I'm excited to read the second half. It did take me like a hundred or so pages to really get into this, but yeah, I'm locked in now. So, that is my update on this one. And I suspect that I will finish it fairly quickly. And I have no idea what I'm going to start next. I'm just kind of like I don't know. I have like I don't even know what my my TBR has like morphed so much. I need to like go back and watch the my July TBR. Um whatever vlog that was in to remind myself what I want to read. I think I I know I want to read I was a teenage slasher. So maybe I should prioritize that next. Um but yeah, y'all will see in the next vlog what I end up picking up next. So thank you so much for watching. I really appreciate it and I look forward to seeing you in the next one. Bye.
