Stop Wasting Time Fixing the Wrong Etsy Listings!

[00:00:00]How to tell which Etsy listings are worth  fixing. Your Etsy shop is not performing as well as you would like. I understand we all feel  that something is missing. One little tweak and suddenly you'll have that shop of your dreams.  But which listing should you work on? A lot of sellers are stuck. They either fix too much  all at once or they fix nothing at all. And either things can hurt your shop. In this  video, I'm going to show you how to use E-Rank to quickly work out which listings  are actually worth fixing and which ones are performing well and should be left alone.  That way, you can decide where to spend your time to have the best chance of making a real  difference. You can stop guessing and worrying.

[00:00:50]When sales feel slow, it's very tempting to go  through your shop and start fixing listings at random. But the problem with that approach is  that not all listings are in the same position.

[00:01:00]Some listings are already doing well for your  shop. Even if they're not getting a huge number of views, others are underperforming compared to  what's normal for you. And these are the ones that changes are more likely to help. If you treat  every listing the same, you risk spending time on listings that don't need it, or worse, changing  something that was already working. So, what you really need is a way to compare your listings  with each other and spot which ones are behaving differently. And that's where this nice little  metric from E-Rank comes in, the visibility score.

[00:01:32]To see your visibility on E-Rank, go to listing  optimization listings. This is available for free and paid plans. what visibility actually tells  you in E-Rank. Visibility is a way of comparing how a listing is performing against other listings  across Etsy. It looks at a listing's average daily views and shows how that compares to thousands of  other listings as a percentage. So, if a listing has a visibility score of 70, that means it's  getting more average daily views than about 70% of other listings. It's important to understand  this isn't a score out of a 100 and it's not saying how good your listing is. It's a simple  quick way to compare listings of different ages.

[00:02:16]And because it's based on average daily views, it  reflects past performance. So, it's not going to react instantly to changes you've made. But this  makes it useful for spotting patterns rather than chasing just short-term spikes. You want to  use visibility to compare similar listings.

[00:02:33]It's important to remember with visibility that  it works best when you compare like with like.

[00:02:39]Different types of products naturally attract  different levels of interest. So, visibility is much more useful when you're comparing similar  items within your own shop rather than comparing everything all at once. For example, if you  sell several different types of product, you can look at only one shop section by clicking here.  Visibility can help you see which listing in that section are getting more attention over time and  which are being seen less often. So, it gives you a baseline for what's normal in your shop. Once  you know roughly where most of your listings sit, it becomes much easier to spot the ones that  are behaving differently, either doing better than usual or worse than usual. And this is where  visibility starts to become really useful. Once you've got a sense of what's normal in your shop,  you can start spotting the listings that are worth paying attention to. A common pattern to look for  is listings that have lower than normal visibility for your shop and a lower grade. In E-Rank, the  grade reflects a combination of factors, including how complete and well optimized the listing is and  whether it's had recent sales activity. So, when a listing has both low visibility and a low grade,  that's often a sign that it hasn't been getting much attention and hasn't had recent momentum  and it has some suggestions that might be easy fixes. So, these are usually safer candidates for  improvement because you're not risking a listing that's strongly performing already. At this stage,  the goal isn't to fix everything. It's to identify a small number of listings where changes are more  likely to help. And just as important, visibility can help you spot the listings you should leave  alone. If a listing has a higher than normal visibility for your shop, especially if it also  has strong grade or consistent sales, it's a good sign it's doing its job. Even if it's not your top  seller, it's performing well compared to the rest of your shop. And that usually means it's best  left alone. There are listings where unnecessarily changes can do more harm than good. Unless it's  getting a lot of views but converting very poorly, it's often better to treat wellperforming listings  as reference points instead of test subjects. They can help you understand what's already working  in your shop without putting the whole shop performance at risk. And once you know which  listings to fix and which to leave alone, the final step is to make changes in a way that's safe  and measurable. Once you've identified a listing that's worth fixing, the key is to make changes  in a way that lets you see what's actually worked.

If you know you're  going to update a listing, whether it's the title, tags, photos, or pricing, it's a good idea to  start tracking that listing before you make any changes. In E-Rank, you can do this with the  changes tool. It takes a daily snapshot of the listing so you can see how views change over time  and exactly what the listing looked like before and after your edits. This is a premium feature  for E-Rank paid accounts, but for all accounts, you can leave a note to yourself on the listing  when you made the changes to remind yourself what you did and why you did it. Tracking means  if a change improves performance, you'll be able to see it clearly. And if it's had a negative  impact, you're not stuck guessing what went wrong.
