Two Way Bathroom Mirror?

[00:00:01]Yesterday I went out to lunch with a friend of mine and I just wanted to share this story cuz it was kind of unique and funny.

[00:00:08]So, I arrived early to meet a friend of mine for lunch and I went into the restroom.

[00:00:15]I know there's a lot of gender neutral restrooms now. Uh, but when I entered this one I was pretty sure that it was just a women's bathroom. So, I went in and um so, you come in the door here and there's a large sink area and then this huge wall of mirrors.

[00:00:36]And then the bathrooms are like over in this area here. So, I entered and I noticed that the bathroom was unique and pretty to the point I almost wanted to take a picture of the sink, but I passed it and went and used the bathroom and I came back out and I was washing my hands.

[00:00:55]And I'm standing there washing my hands and a man walks in behind me and he's smiling and kind of chuckling and I panic and I go Oh my god, I'm in the men's bathroom.

[00:01:10]And >> [laughter] >> so, he passes me to go use the the toilets and I kind of hurry and start to rush out really embarrassed.

[00:01:20]And as I go to rush out, I open the door and I look and I see it does have a picture of a female on it. And I went, "Oh, I'm not in the wrong bathroom. He is." So, I turn around to face the direction of where he was and I said, "You know, just to let you know, I guess I'm not in the wrong bathroom. I think you're in the women's bathroom."

[00:01:44]And I could kind of see down that area and there were stalls where doors would be closed if somebody was in them, but they were all open and there was no one in there.

[00:01:57]And [laughter] so I didn't know what was happening. I wasn't freaked out, but I didn't know what was happening. So, I exited the bathroom and I left and I went out to the hostess and I was just kind of hanging out. I I don't even think it occurred to me to ask her. I just didn't understand what happened.

[00:02:18]And this same man walks past me and he starts talking to me and that's when I said, "Oh, I thought I was in the men's bathroom and then I thought you were in the women's bathroom." And he's laughing and he goes, "It's a two-way mirror."

[00:02:33]And I go "Oh, I said you weren't even in the bathroom with me." And he goes, "No, no, I was not in there at all." And then it occurred to me. I I saw him smiling and it looked like he was laughing, but I couldn't actually hear him. So, this was pretty unique and my friend showed up for lunch and when he showed up, I said, "Okay, I got to show you this thing in the bathroom. I know this is really weird, but I'm going to I got to show you this. It's really really unique." And he said, "Okay." And he had some young children with him and one of them needed to go to the bathroom. And I thought, "Oh, no, he's going to go see before I get a chance to show him this."

[00:03:13]I'm like, "Just, you know, go ahead, go."

[00:03:15]So, they go to the bathroom, he comes back and he had taken a picture of the sink.

[00:03:19]>> [laughter] >> He thought the sink was cool looking, too.

[00:03:22]So, he's like, "I don't really understand." He goes, "It's, you know, it's neat looking, but I I don't really understand what you are finding so incredible about this bathroom." And I said, "Oh, that's perfect. You have no idea what it is. So, um when we're done, we're going to go, you know, we're going to go to the bathroom at the same time so that you can see."

[00:03:42]And so, he's playing along and at this point, I could tell by the look on his face, he's thinking this is kind of weird.

[00:03:50]Um and what could be so interesting in this bathroom?

[00:03:55]So, uh, we finish our lunch and I said, "Okay, let's go let's go over to the bathrooms." So, the men's is here and the women's is here.

[00:04:04]And we're standing at the doors and I said, "Okay, we're going to walk in at the same time." So, we walk in and open the doors and step in and of course we're looking and we're looking at each other and we both start laughing.

[00:04:16]Um, so anyway, it was just really funny and a very unique bathroom. Apparently, they have had people get upset using them a few times, which I I could see.

[00:04:31]Uh, I would say they might want to put a warning before you enter the bathroom in case somebody was going to do something in the mirror not expecting that there's going to be someone on the other side.
