Citrus trees thrive in warm spring conditions, with varieties like Rubino clementine and Sanguinello blood orange producing flowers and developing fruitlets when grafted onto hardy rootstocks like Poncirus trifoliata; regular fertilization with citrus-specific feeds and fish-based fertilizers promotes healthy growth and recovery from winter damage.

Citrus tree update on a scorching spring day ☀️🌱Added:
Everyone, it's Joe. It's Sunday the 24th of May and it's an absolute scorcher.
It's around 31°C clear blue sky.
And I thought I'd give you guys an update on my citrus trees.
But before we go and have a look at those, just wanted to show you my pomegranate trees.
Guys, they've put on so much growth in the last month or so.
And my Italian variety over here is actually in flower.
You can see here the beautiful red flower.
And we've got uh a number of flower buds yet to open on this tree.
But back to the citrus, take a quick look at my Rubino clementine, which is grafted onto a Poncirus uh trifoliata, so hardy hardy citrus rootstock.
And this has been in a flower for the last week or so.
And uh can actually see uh we've got some uh fruitlets forming there.
And the aroma coming from these flowers is just absolutely awesome.
And then we've got uh a larger Rubino clementine, so a blood clementine.
And this one also is in flower, as you can see.
Really healthy tree here.
I give it a dedicated citrus feed.
And every other week I will feed it with uh a fish fish mix fertilizer.
Over here we have my Sanguinello blood orange. I grafted this uh last year onto a Poncirus uh trifoliata rootstock.
And so yeah, it's looking really healthy.
We have a highly citrus here.
And I'll be uh grafted onto this probably next spring.
And then over here we have my Sanguinello blood orange tree which uh had a lot of dieback over winter as it was outdoors all winter.
But as you can see, we have a lot of new growth everywhere on this tree. So, I'm pleased that it's uh it's bounced back.
And uh yeah, looking forward to being a lot more bushier than it is at the moment.
So, there you go, guys. A scorching hot day in London, UK. Beautiful beautiful day.
Happy gardening.
