Erotica in dance is fundamentally about intelligence, confidence, and authentic self-expression rather than external display; it involves understanding one's own body, developing a personal style through life experience, and expressing sexuality with nuance and presence rather than exaggeration.

Special Episode 3: Frame Up Intensive Weekend Greece report
Added:Welcome to strip journey. In this special report, I will tell you about my trip to Greece. And while I did enjoy very much in Atang seeing all the beautiful history and culture, I was actually here to join the erotica frame of steep intensive weekend. On this weekend, we got to take classes not just from the founder Vivian Voss, but also from Louis Alazri and all the way from St. Petersburg, Juliana Kopza.
Juliana taught us classes from both her format technique as well as choreography classes and this was her first time teaching in Greece and she had some advice for us. It helps in general to create something. It helps in improvisation and always to do on the left side is very good for your mind like always dancers is like you know this is my like good side I can do only on right side and like some tricks I think for dancers all sides is need to be yeah professional you can like make on the left side every your core and I think it's good Even during performance, I think you you feel the same. Sometimes we can forget something.
Even if we are not 100% prepare, you're on the stage and like I forget. And if you have the possibility to do it on the other side, maybe your mind will tell you do it on the other side and you will remember this movement. So in the critical situations really it helps a lot to me just to be sure that whatever happens I can do. So this is one of the thing I love that I teach and I see that it's really help people.
Let's see about the importance of practicing and [clears throat] we can understand that we need time to practice. It is not just like here today and that's the end. We need practice if we want to to go to a step and that's okay. Yeah, for sure. It's like base that you need to practice.
It's it's we are very different. So for one person maybe it's okay 1 hour. Yeah.
for other person maybe it's okay 500 this material and it's normal because somebody can quick learning somebody like no it's normal for example if I will go maybe to a class another choreographer I think I need a lot of time to take because I want it to be perfect just not not like okay somehow no I don't like this I want it to be perfect so it's okay if I want to practice more Yeah, very difficult but it's okay. So you should know about yourself uh how many times you need how many hours you need. Louis was also a big discovery for me. She's an experimental high heels dancer who not only taught us some amazing interesting coro but also held an improvisation and jam class and with her energy kept us going was the last class on the first day. She even started by bringing us a piece of paper and making us write down our goals and how are we going to get there.
And of course, our organizer and spidermother herself, Vivian taught two choreography classes with two different styles that we very much enjoyed.
Viven is actually a self-taught frame up dancer and in January this year she went to London to get certified in front of Nastia Urasova.
If you want to learn more about Vivian, I have a full episode with her, episode 24. So go and check it out.
Viven and Juliana also gave us a collab class with Coro from both of them. and I couldn't resist the opportunity to put them both in front of the camera and have Vivian interview Juliana, her guest.
>> Juliana, my dear, you are finally came to Greece. Yes, >> you visited us uh for the events of erotica intensive and I'm very grateful about it. So, how do you feel? How is your experience here for the erotica event and also tell me about the students? How did you find the dancers in the level or how did you expect things?
>> Yeah. Yeah. First thing I want to say that I'm come here because of you because of your energy you know when we meet in Poland um I feel this connection and I was feeling she's very nice she work hard she had the patient to develop from up here that's why I'm here because of you.
Thank you so much to invite [music] me.
I feel so comfortable in Greece.
[laughter] I love it so much. I told you. I love the people here and I really love people in this event workshop. People from other country and from Greece because like I show the movements, the horror, they take it one minute. So very prepared girl. They are focused and I love it and it motivate me. I was like wow people come to my classes in Greece.
>> Oh sure.
>> Wow. [laughter] Yes. What does this um erotica word means to you now that you're here? How do you experience this kind of erotica this world? Do you think that you have a connection or common things between yourself and my vision? Let's say yeah you know I'm 33 now. So um for my age now uh the sexuality okay erotica sexuality of woman for me [music] first is about adult person >> who know woman who know herself her body that's very intelligent enough [music] you know it's not to show how I'm sexy >> it's about to beat inside >> but let people little bit like you know watch this >> yeah yeah >> so this is about confidence.
It's about details and it's about like showing that I'm [music] sexy. No, >> it's just a feeling and I think it's about about the smart and about intelligent >> because when you are younger, you're a little bit stupid, you know, you just express yourself very different. But when you become a little bit adult, for example, you find your style in the clothes, you know how you feel yourself. You behave another way. Even when you become a mom, your sexuality change, but in a better way, another way. So it's not about express this.
>> It's about to be.
>> So this is for me erotic. It's like to be sexy inside and and just feel it.
>> Yes.
>> I don't need to >> exaggerate or show off.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I don't need to express it.
>> I understand. It's about, you know, the woman come in the room >> and everybody's like, "Okay, I feel it.
[laughter] >> You feel I feel the energy."
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's about the energy.
>> It's not about the movements.
>> But [music] also, I think it's about your life changes.
>> You said in uh in one of our classes that you like being like perfect, you like to be prepared, you like to work hard. So do you believe if you were staying in Greece like most of the time with this sunny weather and you know sea and it was migronos let's say do you think it would be like a distraction for you?
>> Yeah if I stay one week more in Greece I will be married here [laughter] >> I'm sure.
>> Yeah.
>> So this is so beautiful man here. Wow.
>> Wow.
I think the most beautiful man is in Greece.
>> Really?
>> Okay. Do you do you think that Russians and Greek people do we have any similarities? Do you think?
>> Yeah. The mentality.
>> You think so?
>> Yeah. I feel it. Yeah. I think we are very open, very kind.
>> For example, I I just come to your home.
We have connection with the same. We have jokes like feel comfortable. and people here very intelligent like the [music] philosopher politics you know so for me it's like the second time I organize this event this um concept it's a bit more dark more feminine from fatal um I try to to get inspired by my guests for example I had you as a guest so it felt for me that I had to go this way like more spider like more fun, more dark, edgy, you know, more experimental.
Um, >> you think I'm dark?
>> Yes.
>> But sometimes, you know, >> as an artist, I mean, as an artist, >> yeah, we have a different course.
>> Yes.
>> Um, do you like this uh when you go to events? Um does it inspire you when you see a concept or or you prefer like uh to be in big festivals maybe or camps or as an artist as a dancer? How do you >> But you know for sure I teach a lot of events and in Moscow it's a very big crazy like 200 people in a very big dance class but [music] as for me I prefer small events because it's more so you know it's more about connection and every time it's cannot be perfect everything but this is the life you know and I love this this moment >> and I love to I love to feel people. So, you know, even I can stay in a hotel.
>> Mhm.
>> But really, I want Yeah, it's cool to stay at your home just to feel, you know, from inside the grease how these people live some things.
>> I love this mall.
>> It is a good thing for you to travel and also combine, you know, the work because >> it it gives you more energy, maybe more inspiration to to move on.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I said that I feel so happy because I love art, >> I love teach, I love meet people and I love training, you know, and I love beer also.
>> All together. [laughter] Perfect.
>> And also um of course you have a very signature style as an artist as personality. Yes, that is someone that everybody can see. Um um [music] here in my country also I'm I'm considered to be like this very signature dancer and choreographer. How is it for you um how open you are to connect with other like very signature artists? Do you feel that it is an an easygoing process for you?
Do you prefer to be more or on your own?
Do you prefer to collaborate? Is it is it um easy for you?
But but you know our signature again it's become because you become older you have a lot of things in your life and >> you start to understand what you really want >> because when you are young you just try this this this a lot of things and you do not ask yourself what is real you >> not because of you know commercial fashion >> something that's actual right now but everybody will forget next year. So yeah, every time I try to ask myself where is real me, what I really love >> and I start to create horror that I really love.
>> And are you open to collaborate with other signature artists? How easy is the process for you? Because for [music] example, um because I have a very signature style also by myself. Sometimes it is not the easiest thing in the world in the world to find space and create with other people. Um so I would like to ask your experience about it because you have your own path also uh your own musicality, your own uh dress code, everything. So is it easy for you to collaborate? Do you enjoy it? Yeah, but you know this is maybe my first collaboration in last 10 years.
>> Okay. Okay.
>> I mean [clears throat] I'm a solo artist. I'm used to it. I feel very comfortable.
>> But for sure I can do some things together. It's okay. I feel very comfortable >> because if you make something together it's not about your own.
>> It's like about the product of two [music] two persons >> and it's nice way to know each other.
how people create, how they think.
>> Yeah.
>> It's like international friendship.
>> Yeah. Yeah. [laughter] Of course. And also you can say that we we really had a really uh small time to prepare to collaborate, but it still went very fast and very cool.
>> Yeah. So it's not for it's for me the collaboration with you. It's not about the horror.
>> It's about the main goal. Like we're together or we create something. Doesn't matter what, you know.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
>> This is about the feeling the process.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> I totally agree.
>> Yeah. And at school to do something with artist from another country.
>> It's interesting.
>> Yeah. I agree. So I told you for me it is something like a karma because I really you were like the first the person um the first artist I saw uh doing frame up uh the first video I saw of you. So it was my dream to bring you here to invite you you know everything got in its right place like a puzzle like pieces of puzzle together. So I really have fun. I think everyone really enjoys the the process and the experience inside [music] uh this uh erotica room [laughter] >> and thank you Juliana everything >> and not only did we have all these amazing classes we wrapped up the event with stage noir a unique event where people would perform and of course get some rewards sports.
We got to finish the evening with a DJ and some drinks. A lot of fun on this great event. And here are some words to wrap it up. [applause] >> I love so much in dancers because in real life we are ordinary girls like you know but when we go on stage we completely different and this is why this stage exists.
And as I wrap up this report, I want to leave you with a few words from this card that all participant from the event got. It says, "Always remember that for any passion, freedom or art you follow, you can do magic. Consistency, discipline, and faith to yourself is the key to your progress and transformation.
Feel, move, express unapologetically."
Thank you for joining me. Even yesterday we are going by metro and we wait in the train and I ask her as you going to massage on sound sometimes and she was like oh you teach me a lot [laughter] a lot of things how to be you know calm and okay everything >> will happen [laughter] everything is okay >> always yeah yeah natural natural
