Please welcome back Jason Lindsey, aka Mr. Science. How are you, Sherry?
>> I am so good and I'm always glad when you come. I'm always scared for our set, but I'm glad you're here. I've never destroyed your set before.
>> did No, NO.
>> KNOW WHAT SHE'S TALKING ABOUT [laughter] AT ALL.
>> UH, WE JUST GOT THE dye off the ceiling with the light.
>> But let's get started. What is our first experiment?
>> Okay, in the wintertime you want to keep warm, you use these hand warmers, right?
There's a little button you click in there and an instant reaction turns it from this liquid to a solid and it gets hot. In science we call that an exothermic reaction.
>> Exothermic.
>> So what we're trying to create here is something called hot ice. I'm going to dip my Wow, these are some fancy scissors.
>> Those are Law & Order scissors. Yeah, I don't know what you what you do with them. Dip these in here. This is just vinegar over here.
I'm going to try to slow down the reaction is what I'm trying to do. So let's see You know, science can be fickle sometimes. So I'm going to cut that off. And then what I'm going to do next is pour this on here and you will start Oh, do you see that? Do you see?
It's what I call and I'll show you in a second. One second. Yes. Okay, now you may touch it. Are you sure? No, I'm joking.
>> [laughter] >> Oh my god, you scared me so bad. See why I call it hot ice?
Oh wait, it's warm and it's very hard.
Literally not cold like ice, but it looks like I'm sorry. Look, we are with Mr. Science, y'all. Stop it. This is a kid-friendly show. Okay.
It gets very hot. Exothermic reaction gives off some heat.
This next one I think you're going to like, too.
I think I'm supposed to be putting on my cute glasses with Mr. Science. Okay.
I'll let you know when you're not safe, but go ahead if you want to because you look even more beautiful with those on. It's really about the wig. I don't care about nothing else.
[laughter] Pretty good wig, right? All right, so what what is going on? Okay, so I have some water and dish detergent here, dry ice over here, super cold.
Kids, you should never eat or drink your science experiment. Have an adult around and wear the appropriate safety gear.
So, I can drink it now? Now that I have preached that, go ahead and put those goggles on, just in case.
>> on, okay.
>> of this container here, I'm going to pour some warm water. You okay? Can you see?
>> Okay, I can see.
>> water in there, just like that. Starting to steam up just a little bit. Since this is cold, way colder than 32° F, >> Right. I'm going to pick this up and I'm going to put some of the dry ice inside of here. Yeah.
>> this. So, it's sublimating. It's going from a solid to a gas.
>> It's sublimating.
>> what I'm going to do next. Place this on top.
>> Okay.
>> And you'll notice, look at this. Oh, look at it coming out. Look at that.
>> Yeah. Okay. All right.
>> cloud.
>> What is some kind of shamanism? What's going on? No shaman, no shaman. So, what I need to do is Have you ever wanted to be in a snow globe? Yes, I have wanted to be in a snow >> one of those globes. What we're going to try to do is put this cloud inside of a bubble. We're going to mix this up.
Okay, did you see that?
>> the bubbles that are happening.
>> need to control the amount of Oh.
OH.
>> [screaming] >> NOW TOUCH IT. TOUCH IT. TOUCH IT. OH.
DID YOU SEE THAT? Let's watch that again. I want to make sure you get it all bubbled up here. Oh, look at that.
Wow.
>> Oh, wow. So, you do it and you touch it.
And >> Oh, look at that. Oh, that's so cool.
>> Let's do it one more time. I'm going to capture that bubble. Let's see if it can get as big Oh, the kitties will love it.
Look at that. I love So, it's like a little globe. As we lift this up, you'll notice the globe that I'm talking about is starting to form. And then that cloud on the inside is captured by this globe.
Pretty cool.
>> ready to move on to the next one? I love. Now, what do we got going on here?
>> have all kinds of holiday parties at your place, right?
>> lot of holiday parties.
>> of these cups left over?
>> Yes. All water, right? Okay, all right.
[laughter] Cuz I have sandwiched a bunch of these cups in between cardboard.
We've glued them on there.
Sometimes it can get icy wherever you live.
>> Yes. here's the secret behind not falling. You've got to walk like a penguin, Okay. and that'll help you keep your balance. You got to walk like Don't you have a dance for me called walk like a penguin?
>> Walk like the penguin.
>> [laughter] >> My friend Marco is going to quickly help us get you on here, and then we're going to do something.
>> Marco.
>> Ready? Of course. This can handle all of my weight.
>> Oh, yeah. You're Okay.
>> Fine. Now, walk like a penguin. Walk like a penguin.
See that? It's holding you.
Look at that. Oh. Whoa. MR. SCIENCE, LET'S GO. I AM NEVER GOING TO GET A DAY MR. SCIENCE. WITH THIS. Thank you, Marco.

>> protect your set.
>> Yes. So, you stay back here. Actually, I want you to come back here cuz I don't want you to get injured from this science. Let's grab those goggles over there.
>> OH MY GOSH. I'LL GET THEM. OKAY.
>> I'M GOING TO GO GRAB MINE, TOO. Walk like a penguin. Walk like a penguin.
Just come on. Walk like a penguin. Okay.

So, I'm going to mix together two ingredients.
>> Yes. Chemical reaction's going to happen, and we're going to get a lot of foam. Okay. Step back there. Oh, thanks.
