Concrete should be poured at temperatures between 10-25°C (50-77°F) for optimal curing; temperatures above 30°C (86°F) cause the concrete to dry too quickly, leading to cracking and structural weakness.

The unimog is put to work & more concrete is poured.Added:
Good morning. How are we doing?
Beautiful sunny day. Going to be 30° today. We're already dirty black kind of thing. Been out in the ice. It's 5.
Um, lots of challenges today. Lots of challenges.
or does it just seem like that because it's hot? I don't know. So, there we go.
So, how are your feed? I'm going to say I'm probably 65 70%. Um, a bit annoyed myself really. I didn't get enough stuff done over the weekend.
So, therefore, I'm chasing retain a bit this morning. So, not ideal that way. But there we go. Um, lots of things coming up. We have tractor fest coming up at newbie hall in not this weekend after going to be there. Um unimog's going to be there. So if you are there come and say hello. I think Michelle is going to take some mugs up there. So if you want the GCS mug, come along, say hello. Um that'll be cool. We will take our credit card machine. Hopefully that will work.
But that's a bit above my pay grade whether that will work or not. So come along, say hello if you want to make have them there. The week after that we're at cereals. Something quite special about cereals this year for us.
Um more of that will be revealed shortly, but we'll be there both days. But on the first day, there's something kind of going on which we'll share a bit more with you at a later date. Uh hopefully the weather is good for cereals and uh should be quite a a good thing. Um, yeah, loads in coming up.
Yeah, plenty coming up. So, right.
Anyway, I'm going to go and buy some wheel studs for a trailer. Uh, a few bars. We've got these new set of wheel studs. So, we've got the hub off. Uh, we're just going to uh go to buy and then once we've got installed different sizes. So, we're going to see if we got something in stock where we're going. rather than bring up and do it over the phone, I just thought it'd be more prudent to go there in person, offer it up. Um, make sure hope we get the right one. There we go. So, that's good. So, that's my morning today so far. Um, I'm going to get some shuttering done for concrete, but very hesitant to pour concrete in this heat cuz I think it'll dry too quick. It will crack. So, what is the optimum temperature for pouring concrete? Uh, and don't ever say, "Please ring Tom Lamb." We know Tom very well. I'm sure he mind. But what is the optimum temperature for pouring concrete or what's the maximum temperature you'd pour concrete in? Everybody there knows that be interest to know. But I definitely think 30° is too um too hot to do it. So there we go. Right onwards.
Right. It's now Wednesday. Yeah. I'm not quite sure where yesterday went to. Anyway, we have concrete coming this afternoon.
Um, another bay going down, which is quite cool. Getting that done. We've got some other bits of speed to go. Trail is going out on higher. So, it's um we are not short of projects to get on with.
That's a good thing to do. So, uh anyway, quick quick show you what going on the yard. Another bag of concrete going down now. Going this afternoon.
We've got expansion joints fitted here.
Expansion joint in there. So, the temperature is not cold today. It's about 20 18° today. So, we're going to get this bay poured today and then going to work on the next bay over there. We've got I think these two are trying to tunnel out to escape GCS here. I think they're tunneling trying to get out.
Are you tunneling trying to escape through your new water park?
>> Sorry.
>> Oh, that's a good idea. Yeah. Yeah, that's helpful. Yeah. So, uh just going to put a couple of We got these posts here that we uh got this morning. They're going to be texture of people walking out the door there. These post actually a bit of a story buying these this morning. So the power of social media was I've been trying to buy them posts from the local Mole Valley stores and all these people for that last for thinking we need to get some. We need to get some. And everyone no not in stock.
Not in stock. Not in stock. And we're beginning to run out of time because we need to get these bays poured. So went on the Facebook last night link local link to your farming page. anybody uh got any posts around? And then that was about 10:00 last night. Woke up this morning to find someone. Yeah, I got half a pallet of them left over from a job and they're like 20 mi away. So amazing the power of social media. So does anybody else have any stories like that where they kind of social media's kind of got them out of out of a hole and things like that? It's um we find it happens more regularly than not anymore, but yeah. Anybody got any good stories? But it's good to know. Let us know. So anyway, we're um they're on their knees now. Look, I'm not allowed to say things like they want to get a prayer, have I? I'm not allowed to say things like that. So anyway, right, quick turn. They got to get the trailer out. We got a customer wants the trailer um straight away. So I got to go get the trailer out and uh get the tire pressures checked so they can check out this afternoon. So meanwhile, Lee is in this shed here.
getting another telly handle here ready for sale and uh repainting the black again making them look good. So uh these are like right we have a trailer. Another very quick phone call.
Can we have a trailer straight away? Of course you can come and collect it. So uh things are hoting up. These traders will be heading out.
So just had him in here just checked the tire pressure on the trailer. All tires were good, which is really good. So it's all beginning to get bit bit more interesting here now.
Second fast track of the day in catching trailers.
As I say, beginning to warm up a bit now.
Good leaving.
Does look smart. There we go. Job looking good and hopefully now we have a load of ready mix coming down the drive any minute.
Daniel's back and jumped straight in the service van and gone straight out of that. So I'm going to put this clip back in the shop that I just got out and then didn't need it.
Shop's going to have a major overhaul for long. Major major overhaul. And uh this is going to be our hose and hydraulic center in here. Um, more of that to follow shortly. But yeah, major works, major works going on here. And, uh, this is kind of all going to be shot.
There we go.
When we get a minute in between the chaos of what else is going on.
>> I've been summoned here. Even Lee's got his wellie boots on today.
Leave it. Look, we're on it. Dumper driver Scott.
Lee's on rake.
Going to get barrel first. Put these posts in the ground.
>> Then we're job good. We've got it under control.
>> Have you got a ticket for that? Do you need instructions or >> Scots?
Don't. Don't. Probably you haven't painted it black. Surpris you haven't painted chunk in it.
>> Yeah. Surpris you haven't painted it back yet. Le >> There we go.
>> Is that enough? That's what you want.
Yeah. Cool. Come out to help now. Is that your Wellies on Michelle?
Man from Wel put some water in it for us. The post are going in.
Look at that. Proper job.
I think the tape measure died earlier on. I think that's been concrete in there for prosperity. Is that prosperity? Whatever. Future extra reinforcing. Anyway, Scott's got his hat on there now. He vetted the sun. We're good to go.
So far so good.
Sh we has got the three wheels at the back.
Bit different, but we're on concrete local company to us.
Happy days.
Leave that bit in.
in the middle of the evidence. Oh yeah.
All helped to keep it together.
You get to help today, Lee.
>> Yeah, I was invited.
>> Yeah.
>> Aren't they kind?
>> Yeah, they are. Yeah, aren't they?
ready to study.
>> Yeah.
Heat. Heat.
Heat up here.
Another bay gone in. Got to put the float over it a little bit later on, but we'll give it time to uh go off. But uh we're not concrete people, but that'll look all right. That'll look all right. Next page on Friday.
And then uh going to go that way a bit more further as well. Job's good. So, this may look silly, but we're having an exit. Okay. We're just testing how easy it is to roll around on the roller board. Should >> be all right.
>> That's no problem. Okay. All right. I think we're just testing that. See where >> your filling's put back in.
>> We're wondering how smooth to get our concrete. If that works on there just fine, maybe we'll leave it as a very nice tamp finish. Yes, >> okay. Result.
>> I mean, if you go >> Well demonstrated by Scott there. Thank you, Scott. Well demonstrated.
>> Test pilot.
>> You could be you could go viral on um Tik Tok now with your demonstration.
>> Being a test pilot.
>> Test pilot. Yeah.
>> There we have it. Executive decision made. Le we're going to leave it very lightly tamped, but we've got a nice wind today as well.
So it's not scorched hot. Nice wind on it.
And uh yes, we know it's very very slightly wonky if you look really closely, but we weren't that closely there.
But job's good. So, next bay is on Friday morning.
That's going to go into here.
We just put a we put the post in. They've gone in to try.
Just put a manhole cover in here. So, we get to a water stock under there.
So put that in today. Then tomorrow when we seal it up, we'll go around that.
That'll be set. So that's good. So very pleased with that. The guys are doing a brilliant job here. Working very hard and achieving a lot. So that's a good job. Good job. Happy Michael. Happy staff. And uh I think we're winning. And I think we've got about 15 16 trailers to get ready for tomorrow. We'll get out there all them riches resting there go outside put back on them. That little clear up a lot of our stuff laying in the yard so we can get the yard tided up and away we go. So yeah, plenty going on, plenty happening and uh we are winning.
Those people that know what we do at GCS here with fuel tanks. We do over the years we have done probably tens of thousands of tanks. I'm not and that's no joke. We we really have most years we were doing 600 700 tanks a year and we're doing it now for a very long time.
Anyway, so we had this tank, we've we've shot blasted it, we painted it, we internally cleaned it out, made it look good and uh custom wanted the hand pump fitted, so that's fine. The outlet was here already in place. So we put the hand pump in. Lee's been working very hard >> and cursing. Coupled it all up, not drawing not drawing fuel. So we've changed the seals in there. We change a coupling and and we've been through it all and then said well we got to check this actual fuel coming in. So we put the hose put into said Joker diesel pump works just fine. So anyway so now we said we better check what's going on inside the tank here. We've used this tank ourselves to store we put some fuel in the other day to store some fuel in there. Then we found out that if you look at this we're coupled onto that one which is what the previous people have been using it for.
But there's no pipe on there. And the pipe involved will attach to the top one which has been shown as a return which you have the pipe there don't you somewhere. You have you have the pipe there. So Le's been trying to draw fresh air for the last hour and a half two hours. Got to curse all the problems.
But whoever it was who used this tank before certainly didn't.
>> I don't know how they got any fuel.
>> I don't know how they got any fuel out of it. But there we go. So there we go.
So, uh, that's, um, >> a learning curve. But Le, >> whoever did it put a nice new bit.
>> Yeah, it feels >> You put it on the wrong one. So, anyway, le perseverance and we've got there. So, anyway, we've got there and some perseverance and we're smiling.
>> But there's always a solution to a problem, isn't there? Just finding it.
But there we go. Happy days. Happy days.
Happy Lee now.
>> Happy.
>> Happy Lee. So, just this is going out in the morning. So, we got to get it finished. So, what is it? Failure is not an option with this one.
>> It's not.
>> There we go. Right. Job's good.
>> So, we're back out here in the in the yard. We tried to do one of these spontaneous photo shoots photo picture of these two smiling. He looked up. But soon as soon as Scott tried to do his hat blew away and that the moment was just lost totally. So, we'll revisit that one another day. But anyway, the shutters are going in. We're going to pull this one tomorrow morning or they're tomorrow at some point I think.
Anyway, um the other two have been practice based really for this one. This is where the bait test is going to go. So here's the manhole we put on yesterday. That's gone down really well. Rock solid there.
That's good. That's a wall stock The two posts we put in yesterday.
Brilliant.
the bay we did yesterday.
Got a very couple of very small, you can see that a very small surface cracks in there.
Um we made mix up just a tiny bit of cement and sl cement and um water. Got another couple of cracks there.
It hasn't dried out too quick cuz the weather hasn't been too hot really, but we definitely got some a couple of cracks in it.
But we'll brush them in. We're having a chaotic day. Without a doubt, we're having a chaotic day. We've got tire in the yard. Got new tires being fitted. Danny's running around. You been busy?
>> I know.
>> You've been busy today.
>> I've been busy every uni. He loves the unimog. Loves it.
>> Loves it. Hopefully got hopefully there's a delivery on this lorry.
I know there's going to be a collection.
I'm kind of expecting a delivery as well. a flail mower for value customer that should have been here today. I'm beginning to get my panic that it's not going to be here today. Which tires here are doing marvelous job and we got a lawyer driver.
>> Sorry.
>> He's a bit hot.
>> He's a bit hot. He's been working very hard. Bless him. Yeah, very hard. So, uh, we got trailers disappearing every direction going. So, we got to get two more coupled up on the M as well. So, Josh, good. Now, we got a lawyer driver was looking very confused as well while I'm talking to my phone. Yeah. And he's looking very confused when there was 18 trailers he had to negotiate as well.
>> Oh, okay. Okay. Right. Traders coupled up.
>> So, the very nice Lori driver.
See, I watch out for myself for the video. But what he didn't realize was the camera was facing just me at the time. So, we thought we better put him on the video now. So, you are >> Eddie.
>> Eddie. And you drive for spavings, don't you?
>> Yeah.
>> Good job.
>> It's okay. You know how it is.
>> You get out and meet lots of nice people. Yeah, definitely.
>> There you go. What's the best part of the job apart from going home?
>> I don't know. Yeah, meeting people.
>> Meeting people. That's good. How long you been here? How long you been working there?
>> Just over a year.
>> Just over years. There we go. So, there is Mr. Lloyd driver. So, he's going to watch YouTube now. He's going to be a subscriber when he goes home. We hope.
Anyway, there we go. There we are.
Another pair of trailers coupled up ready for the morning. So, uh Dan's going to reverse them up a little bit just to demonstrate how easy it is to back two trailers.
I'll keep waving it back a bit there. So, that was the uh the curve that an Daniel was trying to achieve on reversing there. He did a good job. He actually did a good job. It's not that is not as easy it looks, I'll tell you.
You watch our video.
Plenty going on here. Great seeing this kit disappearing. Great to see it all going out and higher. So, we're very happy to see it going out. So, if you see us out on our travels, give Daniel a wave. And uh there we go. Right. Thanks for watching. Yeah. Give him a wave like that. Right. Thanks for watching and uh we'll see you in the next video. Thank you.
