The Blue Mutation Eclectus is a rare color mutation of the Solomon Island Eclectus parrot species, where males display turquoise coloration with a candy corn colored beak, white underwings, and dark royal blue flight feathers and tail, while females show purple bodies, light gray heads, dark gray backs, and dark blue-purple flight feathers and tail, differing significantly from the wild-type where males are emerald green and females are red and purple.

What type of parrot are these?!Ajouté :
Hands-down, probably the most popular birds here at Parrot Stars are our famous blue Eclectus. So, for those of you who have never seen this color mutation before, this is a blue Solomon Island Eclectus, which means they are the species Solomon Island Eclectus, but what makes them incredibly special and absolutely stunning is that they have a very rare color mutation in their DNA that makes their colors different than the wild type that you guys are probably more familiar with, which is the male in a pretty like emerald green and the female is red and purple. So, in the blue mutation, obviously our male with the candy corn colored beak is going to be this beautiful turquoise.
He's got white underneath his wings, his flight feathers and tail are like this dark royal blue, and then our female is going to be purple in the body, light gray in the head, and dark gray across her back with again dark blue purpley flight feathers and tail feathers. So, I just wanted to share a little quick video of them because they are absolutely gorgeous and I know so many of you love to see videos of them. And so I thought I'd give you a little bit of an explanation of what these gorgeous birds are, and if you want more information about Parrot Stars or any of the really cool birds we have, feel free to reach out.
