Natural farming in relation to Livestock in Hill RegionAdded:
Natural farming in reference to the livestock sector. Hi everyone and I welcome you all in today's video. So here me and my friend will be hinging out about the concept of natural farming and its benefit which may provide sty livelihood to farmers especially the ruler communities. Do watch the video till the end and unleash the hidden potential within you.
Indigenous livestock breeds. Natural farming in the livestock sector focuses on raising animals in harmony with the nature, minimizing external inputs, chemicals and stress while improving animal health, farmers income and ecological balance with enhanced adaptability along with the preservation of the breeds.
Natural feeding practices. The natural fitting practices enables the avoidance of chemicals and other feed additives that is entirely on grazing based feeding system. This method usually uses the green foders and crop residues such as husk, straw, brin etc that are obtained from the natural cow based inputs. These are the bioenhures which aids in improving soil fertility, microbial activity, plant growth. This includes panchugawia that refers to the fermented cowbased bio stimulant prepared from five cow products such as urine, dang, ghee, cur, milk and jibamit that is composed of dang, urine, jigury, pearls flour and soil which is liquid organic manure and bjamit that is made from cowang, urine, lime and soil to protect seeds, seedlings and tubers etc. Integrated natural farming system. This is a holistic farming system where crops, livestock, poulries, fisheries and microorganisms are managed together in a manually supportive low imports chemical free ecosystem. Here the main principles includes integration of multiple farm enterprises, recycling of resources within the farm, minimum external inputs, ecological balance, sustainability and farmer self-reliance, animal rearing through indigenous technical knowledge or ITK. It is a cumulative body of traditional practices and innovation developed by local farming communities which includes organic pest control by using neem plants leaves rainwater harvesting by kharin method and green manuring crop seed management and weather forecasting based on animal behavior manure management and waste recycling. Here it comprises like composting of dung and urine, vermy composting, bio gas production, nutrient recycling for soil health and many more.
>> Healthier animals. Natural livestock farming emphasizes mostly on it no veterinary methods reducing reliance on antibiotics and dewormers leading to healthier animals and residufree products. Housing and welfare. The natural housing of animal should be done in such a way that there is proper ventilation, lights, space and drainage system to ensure the health and hygiene of the animal with excellent outcome.
Government initiatives. The government of India has proposed various schemes for the development and improvement of natural farming which includes national mission on natural farming that provides a large budgetary supports around 2481 K for implementation extension supports and field handholding and another one we have is Bharata Praiti Krishi Badhhati that was formerly a part of Praishi Vikas Yujuna that gives financial assistance to the marginalized farmers around 12,200 per hectare over 3 years for cluster formation.
>> Benefits of natural farming. Nature farming in livestock sector offers multiple benefits including improved animal health, reduced input cost, enhanced products quality, better animal welfare, strengthened biocurity and environmental sustainability through ecological and low input managemental practices.
Conclusion: Natural farming not only ensures the health of the animals and safety of the animal products but also supports the farmer self-reliance ecological sustainability and long-term livelihoods.
