SeniacTwo’s sunken interchange is a masterclass in spatial efficiency that elegantly hides the chaos of urban transit. However, it serves as a reminder that perfecting traffic flow often just invites more cars into the very heart of the city.

New SUNKEN Highway Connections - Cities Skylines 2 RockTown #11Added:
Hey guys, my name is Sidiaak and welcome back to Rock Town here in City Skylines 2. Well, last episode boys, we actually got people moving into Rocktown and the city is slowly starting to come together. We extended the grid network to as pretty much as far as you want the grids to go and we added a couple of basic highway connections in to begin with, which has now allowed us to have a bunch of different access points. Things are going really well apart from one big problem and it's one that we're going to solve today. It's very big and you can probably see in the distance there is a lot of traffic and it looks like at the minute we have a huge traffic accident.
How has this happened? I do not know.
But this junction right now we always knew it was going to be a problem. And boy oh boy oh boy oh boy right now is it a problem it's backing itself all the way down to Rocktown and it's getting very busy to say the least. So we are going to solve this junction which is also pretty much caused by the trains crossing over consistently. Um and we're going to try and make it as free flowing as we possibly can. Hopefully a bit more progress the wither the river the the river will continue to spread. I'm hoping by the end of this episode, it's going to be getting a little bit closer to this bridge just here. We will see, boys. We will see. But Rock Town is looking beautiful. Now, if you didn't see last episode, we moved everybody in.
We've got 13,000 residents, the most amount of people we've had in a single episode move into the region, and it's looking glorious. Now, it's not without its problems. It's got a lot of problems still that we've got to solve and do some improvements, but for the most part, the city is looking pretty fantastic. Now, one of the problems we're going to solve is, of course, the traffic. This will move people in a whole lot quicker and just make life a bit easier. Hold on. Why is there a How has a car crashed all the way over here? The nearest road is there. What's it come down here and then gone skirt over a river 20 miles in that direction?
Oh my goodness me. Anyway, boys, welcome back right now. If you are enjoying the series, please make sure you smash that like button down below, subscribe if you are new, so you do get notified when more episodes do come out. Anyway, we are going to solve this. Now, I asked you guys last episode if you had any ideas. A few of you guys actually posted some sweet ideas in my Discord, but I think I've come to one conclusion to how I'm going to approach this. It's very simple. trumpets. Not the or that is what will play once I've opened up my junction. I think a simple trumpet junction wouldn't be a bad shout. Literally, we slight elevate this to come over and then we bend it round in this direction to connect in. It's just then sorting out the flyovers to kind of go over that which have some way got to elevate over the train network.
But I think first thing we do is we pause. Boom. This is going to cause some big problems right now. And I'm going to get rid of this stripper road. And I will get rid of it to about there.
Right. Highways. We are then going to grab you and we are going to elevate you. Now, it would make sense for this to also eventually be a fourlane system at some point. But if I just elevate here and come over with your boy's trumpetto and if we change this right now to go down. So now we're going to look towards doing a bit of a bend. So if I do a 72 by a 72 and then go down to a five.
And then if I do another 72 by another 72 and go down to earth. Right, we've got our little glorious bend going around right now. The rest of this is going to be a little bit confusing, but hopefully it's not going to be too much of a challenge. Right, we are then going to grab these.
And it would be nice to kind of incorporate a bit of an asymmetrical road to allow the traffic to flow. So, we're looking to about go about there, which then we're probably looking to go about here. And I think that there is the perfect bend to alleviate to get onto this road. So, let's do some asymmetrical roads then.
So, we can kind of add in a little bit of a turnoff point.
So, I want to go in that direction. So, it kind of gives us a nice big slip road to turn off. And then, like I said, go in that direction. And then vice versa.
here as well. So, a nice big slip road.
Okay, that's not going to work out.
Well, I I might wait to do that one until I've implemented these in. So, that's going up and over. We'll continue the fashion of this right now to get down to earth, or do I go the full shebang like that?
Right, that's up and over. But it only goes to one side of the road. We need it now to do the other side, which this is going to be the difficult one. So, I don't know whether I need to upgrade a certain point of it to a fourlane road.
Now, this I'm going to keep it like that for a minute. Let me elevate that. Why did it not elevate? Boom. There we go.
And I'm going to use it just to utilize my marker point to get to where I need it to go. So, do I do a fourlane highway system for the on and off ramps in that little strip? Is that going to be too far to bend all the way? Potentially.
Potentially. So, what I could do, let me just see what it would look like to begin with. So, coming down from here and then doing the bend all the way.
That's what it's going to look like. And I think it might be a bit too far. So, doing it a little bit closer is probably our best bet. Unless No, no, we'll do it a bit closer. So, I'm going to build that road there, snap you in, upgrade you, and then get rid of you, and then my little slippy slip slip is just there. Right, fingers crossed this now works. Fingers crossed. Right, we're going to go for another glorious bendy Wendy.
Now, it needs to elevate up and over.
And I might slightly sink the the the rail line slightly. So if I just do that to there, I just want to see how it looks first. Now that will definitely do the magic. Okay, that will do the magic for us. We just now need to elevate certain parts of it. So elevate you. Elevate you. And then we are going to And I don't know whether I'm grabbing the road or the train line here. Let me just delete the train line a bit so I can bring this up. So, select both of these and then just raise them.
You raise me up.
There we go.
Right, that should be perfect.
And then what I'm going to do is I'm going to sink. Actually, I might redo this now. Now I've deleted the uh the rail line.
Oh, no. It doesn't really make much sense to be honest with you because it's only going to drop down again anyway.
So, if I just do that to there. That's better. Right. There is a slight bump, but I can sort that.
There we go. And then we'll we're going to slightly sink the rail line just so it's not at the same level and give us a little bit more clearance as well. So, now we've got to do the something very similar over this way. So, if I can upgrade you and is is there too far?
Now, this is going to be the difficult one. This is going to be the difficult one right now to kind of get all the way in.
So, we're looking about there.
Right. This is not going to play ball now, is it?
No, no, no, no, no, no. So, I wonder if it makes more sense to maybe bring you out straight and then try and get it to a five. So, it's gone straight there and then we bend it.
So, the bend in question, which does get a little bit more annoying to incorporate like that, but the elevation should be there. So, why is it now not elevating?
Right, I'll anarchy it.
And then we'll have to kind of drop it down a little bit. So, the rail line does look like it's way too high for us at the minute, but that's that's nothing we can't solve, boys.
We are professional builders here.
Professional builders.
And we are going to bring right. That is not liking that connection, is it?
Let me bend here.
It is really not liking that connection.
And for some reason, I just can't seem to get it to bend into it. Right, let me delete all the rail. I think the rail line is kind of also slightly messing me up.
Right, there we go. That's now a better swoop into it. Right, that's all glorious then. Got the nice glorious slip roads and then we'll set up this one as well. So, putting that to the ground. So, we need this slippy slip slip there. And then how far do we want it to slippy slip slip going this way? I reckon it's a little bit further. Maybe about here.
So if I just do that and then sort out the upgrade there going in that direction and then that merges in. So it gives us enough time for the vehicles to drive to then merge onto said actual highway.
Right, that's all now elevated. That will now flow. Beautiful.
Do I extend the fourlane road to about there?
Right.
What just happened here?
We'll extend it down to to there cuz then it kind of like merges on the ground.
There we go. and it gives us a longer run up to then pick your lane and then commit to your turn.
Right. So now we're going to do this a little bit differently. I'm hoping for the train line. We are going to slightly sink it down. But let me first build it back and then we'll get it all up and running. So what I'm going to actually do is come from here and then we are going to slightly bend there and then can we pick a point?
So a 90 odd.
We'll go we'll go. That's fine. That's fine. And it runs into there. So, what I've done is I've kind of bended it a little bit earlier than usual. So, then the swoopy swoop swoop, which you could argue I could do the same to this side next.
So, we're kind of like pulling it away so it's not too tight to the junction.
And then if I Oh, that was not That's not a bendy Wendy, is it? No, Siri.
And if I do it to about there and then we're looking like a 162 now I I'm not feeling that. I think I might have pushed it a bit too far.
So rather than bending it all the way, we go straight a bit and then we bend it in. Maybe.
Still not feeling that either. I think rather than do the straight bit there, we actually bring this a little bit closer.
I'm going to bring you to there. And I'm going to redo this cuz I'm not I'm not feeling that. Unless I do the full shebang all the way here.
All right. Where's the snap? There.
All right. That's better. That's a lot better now. Perfect. So then it should allow me to then do a little bend here to kind of connect you in. So we still got our little triangle for the trains.
So I'm hoping I can do it about there.
So, if I went somewhere, something like this is what I'm hoping with. So, I've moved the triangle to the right a bit rather it being so close, which then it's under the highest point. So, in reality, I don't really need to sink it then, do I?
I mean, I could do, but I don't really need to do that. So, that junction is now in. We have free flowingness to whatever direction they want to go to and it shouldn't now be a problem. So if I now press play, right, it's going to take the vehicles a minute or two to realize what in the world has just happened. Some of them are going to have to do Uturns, but this is now going to flow beautifully to the point where we won't have any traffic problems any longer.
I know. Even I'm surprised at this point. Right. What's going on just over here right now? Is it just the initial traffic? Oh, no. I think we need to might need to move you a bit. Actually, pause. I'm going to redo this little section and bring you down to there. Like, that gives us a better bend. I think everything else is all okay, right? Yes. Now, look at that.
Vehicles are flowing. Ignore the fact obviously there's a jam coming all the way down here. There was initially a lot of traffic all backlogged up. So, we got to give that time to kind of like pass through. Now, because that junction was overloaded, it does now mean a lot of traffic. What's going on here? Uh, it's the ones that want to do that little turn. A lot of traffic has now since left the junction and then going to push itself onto the local roads. So now we're just going to give that a little bit time to kind of sink through. It is detrimental.
Don't get it wrong. It is not great. Now you could argue, well, should we drop a roundabout here? Uh, you could argue that that bus is really trying to make its way through, isn't it? You could argue we need to start looking at a little bit of roundabouts and whatnot. just a aid the flow coming through the town, but I want to see what initially is going to happen anyway. So, these are not great.
I don't know whether to kind of create a dedicated left turn or the the problem with the traffic is because there's so much that was originally backlogged. Once all this is cleared and then we've got normal traffic flowing through, we might not have these issues anymore. Like for example, this backlog here is now almost all gone. So once this now passes, these last few little bits and bobs.
All right, we played a waiting game and give it a second. Give it a momentto.
Wait for that train to go and this little bit to go.
We are now back to we're now to normal.
So this is the normal flow now coming through.
So then we just wait for this back end to make its way all the way through gone.
So I don't want to fix it just yet. I want to see once it naturally passes then I want to see if we then still have traffic issues cuz I could be fixing something that doesn't exist. It's like if I started to fix all of this over here, it don't exist now. So it's all okay. the backlog all the way down into uh Rock Town is now gone. And I think, boys, we're now cooking. So, that little trumpet right there, elevated with the rail on the ground, has worked wonders.
Has absolutely worked wonders right now.
So, again, like I said, it's just a case of waiting for all this to kind of uh sort itself out.
I want to let it sort itself out naturally before we revisit it. But what I will do now is look towards building an additional road from Miral to Rocktown. And I think what's going to be important is to incorporate a bypassing highway route that will go in that direction. So if that highway kind of extended all the way down and then connected to here, it means that you don't have to always drive through Miral and it will also give us access to all of these areas.
Right. This is going to be interesting next.
So, our highway here, we are going to also continue.
And oh, I got I got to turn the anarchy off cuz it does build some ridiculously horrible stuff.
Right, there we go.
Right, it's not perfect. And that of course is going to cause traffic issues.
So, do I do it here or do I do it on the junction? Now, if I was to do it on the junction, it would allow me at some point in the future to create a better system. I'm wondering where that's the center point there, isn't it? So, let me just kind of let me just humor myself rather than that.
I went directly through. So I know it's the center point to there.
And then what I can end up doing is like a proper junction here to allow myself to kind of completely flow. But also I could Nothing's stopping me.
Create a short. Do you know what? I don't know because there's a part of me that wants to kind of like cuz I know the highway is going to run like this like this way. There's a part of me that wants to kind of do like a glorious bend there and have that kind of bend in down here and it's kind of annoying.
Like if that went like that and then this went No, I'm never going to be happy. The answer is, boys, I'm never going to be happy.
But I could change it to where this this runs down into a T and then there those are kind of like fly through or you know flow through roads if that makes sense. I've just got to figure out how it's going to progress into here. So if I just get rid of you, get rid of you.
Get rid of you. And I'm going to half this by the way.
half you and then I want in reality this road here to kind of like bend into it.
But that's easier said than done. I think what I got to do is make this bend round.
So if I come down to about something like this and then we did that, right? Nice little bendy Wendy road just there. Now, rather than having right this road go both directions, we upgrade it to where it only connects to there. So, it's almost like it's a slip road.
Like that.
And if you want to do the left turn, you got to come into the junction where that's kind of a complete bypassing. If you want to come down here, you got to come into the junction. I don't know if that works out better just because it's on that side of the road. And then I do the exact same thing here, but this one's a little bit different.
Okay, now I'm going to do it backwards.
I don't know if this is this is like a dumb idea or what.
Let me spin this round.
Is that a dumb idea?
Should I make this do it a whole lot earlier?
I kind of like it. It adds a little bit of character. I'm not going to lie. It adds a bit. It's because it's different.
I've never built anything like this before. And with it being then so different, it's what kind of like excites me and makes it feel quite interesting. Oh my goodness me. What have I done for water? Am I out of water or have I just broken something somewhere and not realized? I think I actually might be out of water.
Or it's my water pipes that are really struggling.
What's your problem? It's water facility overloaded.
Okay. I mean, it does make sense that we do need something over here.
So, let me go for like a big one on the edge just there.
And that'll just kind of supplement um Rock Town a bit. But also, we do need It's The pipes are overloaded, aren't they?
If I did that, that takes the edge off.
No, it doesn't.
We uh we're going to need another sewage outlet, right? For the sake of it, I've got to do this.
Okay. Unfortunately, that's just what I have to do. Right. That's a very interesting junction. Okay. I'm going to keep it and I want to see if it causes any issues in the future right now because the interchange over there flows so much more beautifully.
Of course, we're now starting to ex experience a few little issues.
Now, I could extend that onto there, but I don't know if that causes more problems than it's worth. Let's just see what happens if I then extend from over here. Now, what I would like is this highway here um to obviously go this way. So, it's kind of bypasses it. But I also like to have an alternative route for the people of Miral to come down here as well. So, I'm thinking that we take a couple of these little dirt roads and then bring it down this way. But let me just see how this bend here would look.
So, we're trying to look at first keeping it going straight.
All right, that's snapping through. Now, this of course is going to cause us some big problems. I don't know whether just to just uh rather than do what I'm going to do there.
It's just so much easier just to kind of pick a random spot and have it 90° and eventually I turn it into a trumpet of some sorts. Now I want this as much as it's going to run straight to kind of slightly bend here and there.
That's what I would love. So I'm going to pick a couple of spots. So, I'm going to pick about there just to run to about here.
Right. And then what I'm going to do is I'm going to delete you.
Delete you back there. So, we're going to do a slightly large bend.
So a 368 going in.
Is it as bendy as we would like? H I don't think it is. Do you know what?
Scrap that.
I mean, but then again, these type of roads aren't really that bendy in real life, but I feel like we need a bit more.
Right. Apologies for this uh me being so indecisive about all of this.
Right. I'm going to keep that running straight. And I reckon the bends then happen here.
So, we'll kind of like bend it slightly to go around.
And then this is going to run straight.
And then somehow we are going to bend this like that. Okay, that's better. See, it's a little wiggle, but it's ultimately a pretty straight run. Now, I want to connect a few of these little dirt roads up to this because it also gives us an additional access point to Mural anyway in the mining area. Now, that's a road that runs directly down to that connection. So, I kind of want to bring this going up and then round and then in. So, we're going to want an access point. And we'll do it via dirt road probably about here.
I'll do the same for this. Oh, do I want one there or should I just kind of make this?
Okay. The mining industry is overlapping. Oh, they're already using it, which is hilarious cuz this will also allow me to do some more extensions. I reckon we get these two roads that connect into this.
I reckon that's where we go about doing it. So, a lot of them are already using this run right now and I'm interested to see how this kind of evolves.
There might be a bit of backlog there as they all try and do like a left turn to enter into the area.
But I think this is pretty sweet.
Off they go.
Okay. It It is pretty cool. It It is pretty cool. Okay.
Okay.
So I am then going to So I could extend this road continuing to go down in that grid format, but I think this road is probably better on the old diagonal.
Now we're going to anarchy this and I'm going to trim all the mining areas.
Right.
Going in like that.
This I'm going to push all the way in that to there. So I think we'll bring this to about here.
And then we'll just do a little bendy wendy.
And then we're going to anarch key this one.
And then I was going to say run it all the way down, but I'm not liking that deviation here.
So, what we'll do is we'll use the complete bendy Wendy just to kind of slightly go around it and that gives us that alternative connection to access it. So, couple of additional points right there to get over here, which means we can then continue to extend the mining area. I've only then moved the traffic that was originally backing up there and then pretty much put it over here now at this point. So, it might be worth me maybe looking at building a trumpet straight away just to save myself.
Um, let's just sort all these out first.
Get all this done.
And then we've got the ability to go a little bit further now.
So this will become a slightly bigger mining industry.
All right, there we go. And the other one that we've got to now fine-tune is this one.
And I won't go any further than that cuz we'll just allow it to sort itself out. And then we'll at some point figure out how it all ends and then how we can add in more industries in the future. Right, we got a problem here right now with this pathf finding. And I think it's ever since I maybe added that connection in has beaus become a little bit of a concern.
So we're going to solve this now anyway.
So let me if I just deleted this, does that fix the path finding problem?
Um to be honest with you, it might not actually be from this.
The pathfinding issue might stem from over here, which the answer's no.
But then cargo, I've got three cargo routes, but one of them don't work. And it's the one that comes into here. Oh, it does go out that way. So, it does stem from this somewhere, right? It does stem from this somewhere.
Right. Let me delete that and then put it all back in. Oh, I just realized how I fix it. I've honestly just realized how I fix it and now I feel like an idiot. You just upgrade the track all over again.
I've just I I forgot about that little trick.
Right. Slightly feel foolish.
All right, we'll sort that out now.
Right, that's fixed it anyway. So, headache over. Right, let's build the old trumpetto here then. Might as well do it cuz it obviously really, really helped on the other one. We might as well just do it here. Right, delete that all the way back then.
and then go from there and then go up to a 10.
All right, there we go.
Now, this is kind of going to start eating into a bit of a mountain. So, that one went to the right. I'm assuming we've got the space here to make this one go to the right as well. So, let me stick it out a little bit more. And then we'll do our we do we do 72s or 64s?
We'll do 72 and then bring it down to a five.
We'll do 72 down to earth and then we'll go from here then. Yeah, this is going to work out perfect. This is going to work out absolutely perfect.
And then it's a little bit further back this one.
So you got a bit more room to mess around with it.
So we'll do all this and then we'll kind of throw in the little slippy slip slip there.
Now I won't do this side until I've done the other one. So big I mean they're going to use that until I've obviously got this one in. So let me now just sort out the four lane road to about there we reckon.
Maybe maybe.
And then we've got to pick a point where it comes then off.
Right. This one might This one doesn't bend as much as what the other one originally did.
So we're going to have to probably pick and choose now where we do our asymmetricals.
So if I did that there, is that enough to bend you all the way around? It might be a case I need to delete some train track.
So, let me elevate a little bit of you.
I reckon we should have pushed that a little bit further back.
That's what I reckon.
We should have pushed this one further back a bit.
Same with that.
So, if I get a point there and if I did it, let's do it there.
do that there.
Upgrade you to normal. Upgrade you to normal.
And then let's try again.
Right.
Coming up to a plus. Let's do a 2.5.
How does that look? Not great.
Oh, we could bend it.
Perfection.
Perfection.
And then we got to try and get it up to a 10 obviously at some point.
Oh, that's Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. What are you doing?
I always forget to click on the bend, right? This should be actually Can I delete you and we bend it instead.
And I'm going to raise that for just a hot minute. Maybe I didn't need that one to be pushed back as far.
So, I'm going to get you back in.
And then just like that. Whoa.
What's going on?
There we go. So, we'll elevate this little bit.
Get you all situated.
It's a bit funky now because of these angles went a bit different, but sometimes I find if I pause, I don't really want to delete it and then have to do it again.
But you can find it works a lot better if you do it that way.
It's not perfect.
You just got to find that little bit of a balance.
So, just just to align it all a bit better.
But that does it here.
We're going to delete you and you. So, I'm not liking those extra nodes.
Better.
Better, boys. Right. One more to go and then we're Gucci. So, I feel like we need to do a little bit of a longer slip, though.
That might be too long, but you know, it can only help. It can only help us right now. And then to go down in this direction with this is going to be the problem. I thought the other one was the problem, but no, I've decided this one's going to be the problem.
Right, let me first play with the idea of going here.
I'm doing it differently to normal, which is probably the wrong wrong way to to go about it.
asymmetrical to go back down like that there. But if I upgraded that to be four lane, that stops that doing what it needs to do.
And I've got a sneaker suspicion though that this is not going to play ball.
So, we have to try and elevate you.
Where are you? Where's me elevate button? There.
But again, it's a case of one, we're a bit too close.
And I did that awkward thing at the start. So, let me just get rid of this here.
Add you in just so I can put you back to normal.
Oh no to delete you. Then we're going to go for a big spiraler.
All right. Just stick to what you know, boy. Stick to what you know, which is not a lot.
Right. That is hold on to a five which we're just going to move it down slightly.
Bendy it slightly so it becomes a more of a glorious slip.
And the elevation on that is not too bad. Now I wonder if I get rid of the elevated part of that.
No, I think it's going to forever main remain slightly elevated.
Yeah. Right. Not the end of the world.
Not the end of the world. Right. It does what it needs to do. More importantly than anything else, it's only because it's so close to the highway, which is my problem.
All right, just trying to play around but not damage it too much.
And I think that does need to be risen slightly. Oh, hello. New Imperial Heights Apartments.
I think that's it. I think we've got it.
I think we've now got it. We're going to Okay. Can't really elevate that. That's what it is. That's our junction. So, the train line's okay, right? Yeah. Oh, we got a problem over here. Oh, the building burnt down. Oh, it collapsed.
Huh?
Disaster response units unavailable. Oh no.
Oh no. Where's my disaster response?
It's over here, isn't it?
Disaster response.
It's one of the big things, isn't it?
Okay. Right. We we we're going to have to get that back in at some point. Well, we have to unlock it, I should say.
Right. That's now caused us to have traffic issues now here because obviously we've now shortcut the complete route in general.
Now it is a highway road.
Should have I have kept it a highway road. Oh yeah, I think so. I think don't think it's too bad. That junction flows gloriously.
This junction now flows gloriously. What doesn't flow is these junctions into Rock Town.
These are a little bit more detrimental.
So this is where we have to now start thinking about properly creating uh junctions here.
Now what do I do here? Do I create elevated junctions or do I sync the highway for better systems?
I could also think about turning some of this into a four lane system as well, but we could do some pretty cool stuff with like either elevating it or sinking it.
Now, the big problem with this one is obviously this junction there. We get that. Um, the next problem is this here.
Now, my idea for this was to kind of like have it completely fly over so that becomes the connection. But, we do need some proper systems. We really, really do. It's vital that we do do that.
Um, the traffic at the minute, I don't know whether the traffic's just coming and going. It's just the initial as we opened up the highway. So, maybe I just kind of maybe I'll just kind of leave this for a minute and just see what comes of it.
It also intrigues me how they're doing a right turn here.
Should I turn off the ability to do the right turn?
And then same here because they could have taken these little slip roads. That's the whole point of those slip roads.
So some of these vehicles are still hardcoded to go in that direction.
And hopefully the rest of it don't take that option now that I've kind of turned it off. But we'll see. There is a problem here as well, but we're aware of this now. We've kind of opened up areas. We are starting to see other areas kick in.
That's fine.
They are using that little road there.
A lot of them are still hardwired to go into a certain direction. So, they're still going to make that right turn.
Even though I've told them you can't do it, they're still going to do it.
They're still going to do it.
Anyway, all right. We do need to kind of build the this amazing stuff. So, I could experiment with this one.
Now, in reality, what would be a cool idea is to kind of drop you down so you're like sunken.
Actually, let me undo it and let me pick that node and then that node. So, we kind of sink it down from some distance, right? Is that sinking down too much?
The answer is yes.
All right. Sink it to there. I'm not sure why that's decided to do what it's just done.
All right, let me uh elevate from there.
So this is just an experiment right now.
It might turn out that I don't do this right. Why is it finding it difficult here to elevate?
Oh no. Oh no.
Right. Can you not um do what you're doing, please?
Thanking you very much. And if I grab Oh no.
Right. Let's Let's try this again, boys.
How Oh, I'm still slightly elevated.
Where's the node here?
Right. It's putting a node there. Oh, I don't like this. What have I now done?
Honestly, what have I accidentally now done?
I'm now having to level terrain, which is now super annoying. I've really messed this up.
It was going so well, boys. It was going so well. Why did I go and choose to mess it all up?
Right. There we go. I just want to create a a different type of junction which I think will be pretty interesting. So if I get my normal road here and this then just flies over like that, I can then create a junction and have a uninterrupted dedicated route above.
So let's see how this plays out. So, we'll get our little slippy slip slip roads and then we'll go one, two, three, four back.
All right, easy enough.
Easy enough, boys. And then we will then drop it in to a well what we should do thinking about it if I just come from there and then did a one two way and connect in I can then sort out a fourlane highway and then that's how we bend those in.
So I'm wondering if a continuous not a complex curve sorry. So 128 we're looking like a 64 right. I'm hoping that works right. I don't know why it's throwing a little bit of a tantrum here.
I've got no idea why.
Why is this deemed not doable?
Right, we'll build it ourselves, guys.
Clearly, the game is not capable of doing the shenanigans I want.
All right, there we go.
Now, how in the world am I going to replicate that is the question.
The answer is going to be I can't.
So, let me do it going back.
Look, I can't replicate that. It looks so good, but there's no way in this world I can replicate that.
So, maybe it's a landscaping problem.
So if I shift terrain.
Whoa.
Okay. What if I smooen it the edges?
I'm going push these slightly out. And then we smooth. Not shift. Soften.
Right. Slightly softened it. Surely now this can't mess up. Surely. Right.
Complex curve. Right. We're going to go out by by I don't know what. By that car.
It It was a 64.
Oh, now it works.
Right. Don't do a roundabout.
Why did that one work? I will never know. But what I do know is I've got to move this slightly over. So, let me grab you and you and then push you slightly back because I'm looking at the the zoning grid. So, still got to keep going. Oh my goodness me.
No, too far.
Okay, I'll go with that.
I'll go with that. Why was that so difficult to build? I don't know. I honestly do not know. So, now, do I even remember what I've got to do here?
So, it was a 22A and then in where we set up this, right? This should be super easy now, right? There's no way I can mess this up. There's no way in this world this can be messed up.
So, I think the easy thing to do is it going this way the better one to do it.
Not sure yet. Not sure that's done it. Oh my goodness me.
Right, that one's a little bit longer than that one.
So maybe I just add in another node there.
Upgrade you.
Tada.
And then we've got this dedicated fly through. We're going to level the terrain. Just kind of doing like this.
I'm going to elevate all of this, by the way, this whole road. So, elevate, upgrade, and then soften all the edges.
All right. It's not far back off what it was originally. It's probably what it was originally there. Oh my goodness me.
It actually was, wasn't it? Right. Let me try that again. Level terrain and then soft. Let me just reduce the strength.
There we go. It's a little bit better, isn't it? That is definitely a little bit better. So, that gives me a dedicated fly through. So, stop the traffic who are not turning to continue their journey. A slip road to pull off and then access it. That feels like a a deserty in the middle of nowhere American vibed, you know, highway interchange turnoff to access. Also gives me a flyover to kind of then start building over in this direction.
So, we should have built those in quite a few areas. Now, I couldn't build it on that one cuz it's too close to this. So, it's probably a case of maybe we bring this down over there, then we kind of set it all up, is probably the way to go about it. Get rid of this connection here, which is no longer an issue anyway. And then we do something around here. Maybe this comes out and then in.
But you got to be a bit careful about this.
You have got to be a bit careful just making sure you got the right flow going all the way around. Uh but that works out really great. I'm actually kind of happy with how that's now turned out.
Bit of a pain to build, but that's mainly me more than anything else.
But that's great. Right. Do we have any traffic issues? Now we've got a burned down vehicle over here. Right now that traffic is from this vehicle crash. This is why we need other alternative bypassing routes. We do have a little bit of uh traffic over here right now which is access this but that works really well. So we're going to apply that to somewhere here next episode and we'll get a few more in dotted around.
And I think that's the way we go about doing our highway connections for Rocktown. Right there we go. Not much progression, but traffic is flowing so much better in the area, minus the car crashes, right? Okay, minus those.
We have solved traffic and we've also gained even more residents. We've actually gained nearly 10,000 more people by doing absolutely nothing apart from building roads. It's because they're now able to move into the area so much easier. So, we'll keep it there for a minute. see how we get on. Got a lot of highway connections still to incorporate and get in, but other than that, things are looking beautiful.
Until next time, I will see you all soon. So, goodbye.
