Finally doing my IVF trigger shot | Filipino Indian couple IVF cycle day 13Added:
How do you say I forgot? Umang?
Magandang?
Oh, magandang umaga everyone.
Yeah, we are on the way to the clinic again.
See, I told you yesterday it's like our second home.
Now, yeah.
That's what we feel and people are so nice there. Oh, so welcoming.
That's like every time we go there, like we always have to get more medicine.
And yesterday, the weather was good, but today is raining. Not good, I think.
>> And >> yeah.
Sad.
Yeah, but the good thing is that I had a good sleep.
>> Oh, yes. Same for us. For me, uh, I mean it's good. But I was having, uh, cramps.
I mean, leg cramps, not stomach.
Or tummy.
That's her. Yeah, it was from the long walks we did yes that the past two days.
>> Yeah, 6 km and then yesterday we did 5 km and I think, yeah, my my muscle got tired, really really tired this side, left.
And I had, um, I wouldn't call it severe pain, but there was pain, yes. And then I took tablet and I slept. So, it's fine, I recovered.
Yeah, guys, cuz I I mean, we we do walk almost every day.
>> Yeah. But like some other days it's not going to be like a super long walk.
two days we did long walks. Yeah.
And I was telling Fay just now, I said I said I mean, we all have different body structure, right?
So, some people they recover fast, some people they take one to two days to recover, right?
And then at my workplace also right now, we are like we are in our off season, right?
So, nothing much to do. My chef and I, we just sit down there, you know, do some paperwork and talk about I don't know what, like we don't even know what we talk about and then we come home. So, not enough physical activity at work, right?
So, maybe that could be the reason, right?
Yeah. Yeah, because when we were in India, we go for walks every day.
Some more twice a day. Twice a day.
Yeah. Jackie doesn't like it, but yeah, Queenie, she loves it. Yeah. Bring me out, it's fine.
I'm ready to go. So, I think he just need to get used to it again. Yeah.
You know guys, I'm still having constipation. It's not like the worst worst constipation, but like in compared to like how I you know, you have bowel We have bowel movement. I could clear my tummy almost every day.
But right now, because of the medications I'm taking Yeah. And then like by by the the middle of the day, I would feel bloated.
I think that's normal.
And they increased the dose yesterday, right? Just for one day.
Yeah, so Hopefully ready now my eggs. I'm so tired of the injections, like I'm really tired of it. And you want to buy the kiwi nectar and pineapple, right? So, it's going to help you.
I'm going to make juice.
Going to drink it. Yeah. Our appointment is at 8:30 a.m. It's right It's 8:01 right now.
So, I think we're going to be >> using maps today. early. Yeah, it's just Cuz we've been there so many times.
I remember where to go now. For me, I don't remember.
Yeah, because I drive, right? Most of the time. You should drive.
I will be driving, but in your dreams.
in my dreams.
Nice, nice to drive. I don't know it, but I really have to drive because like I cannot go to places now unless Amit is with me. Yeah. So, I really need to learn how to drive cuz we're not always together. But now we are planning to do that, right? To be together 24/7 cuz he loves me that much.
He can't live without me. Yep. How about you? How about you? Same. Then? Yeah, we're best friends, so we we don't really mind being together. Yeah, that's the good thing, right? And he has no choice.
I mean, that's the good thing. Like I mean, when you try to be husband and wife, yeah, you're going to start thinking of many things, you know, like your mind, this is you, this is mine, something like that.
But when you try to be friends, it's easier. I mean, there will be still, you know, conflicts, It's normal. It's normal, but it's going to be a bit better. Honestly, if it's me, I'm not going to drive anymore. I'll just stop. You can go first, it's all right.
Which doctor should we Which doctor?
Citram?
Citrus? No, I'm just kidding.
Okay.
Hey. Hello. Good morning. Good morning.
How are you?
Really good.
Uh, we never met, I don't think. No. I'm Dr. Citram. Dr. Fernando and I work together.
And so Let's do your ultrasound and see what to do with you. Okay. Yeah, looks like you have a lot of eggs growing. Nice.
Yeah, lots.
Okay, well, this won't take very long.
Pretty quick ultrasound.
And are you planning like are you planning to Is the goal to do fresh embryo transfer?
>> That's right. Okay.
Did Dr. Fernando talk to you a little bit about like your egg numbers and fresh embryo transfer and all that? Uh, I don't know. Okay.
There's So, there's some thresholds, like you're responding really well. That's That's a good thing, right? It is. The more eggs we have the more long-term success we're going to have. Not just in getting you pregnant, but some pressure here.
Um, but getting enough embryos so that you could have enough frozen to have a second or a third baby. You know, so that's one of the nice things with IVF and freezing embryos.
So, but when you have a lot of eggs it comes with another problem, which is too many eggs can cause you to get this hyperstimulation syndrome, which can make you very very sick, shift your fluid and electrolytes.
And you'll recover from that. I mean, it's not a it's not a lethal thing or anything.
But it it it's it gets worse when you get more than 20 eggs.
So, at egg retrieval, if we get more than 20 eggs then we are very very strong recommendation to, um, to just let the body recover.
You're not going to feel good either.
So, let the body recover, uh, take, you know, um, however long it takes, usually a a month to to recover. And then when the body's recovered go back and put one of those frozen embryos in.
So, create the embryos, freeze them all.
They freeze very well.
Freeze them all.
And then in a month, when the body's ready and you're rested, we put it back in.
So, 20 is is one number.
There's another number though, which is, is our own clinical number. Everybody talks about these.
But our our threshold number is 14. So, we find that when people get more than 14 eggs so, if it's over 20, we freeze all the embryos, don't transfer.
If it's under 20, we'll transfer. But if you get over 14 eggs and you do a transfer, the pregnancy rates are about 20% worse, 20% lower than if you would just have done a frozen transfer.
So, this is what we we would call that, like I wouldn't say a strong recommendation, but we would advise if, you know, you do get more than 14 eggs it's probably better to do the same thing, freeze the embryos and then put the embryo in when there's not so so much like excitability of hormones in the body.
It'll all depend really on on, uh, Monday how many eggs we get. Okay.
Okay, and then you're going to let me know which one's going to be better for me.
Yeah, like at the time of the egg retrieval if if, you know, if the lab says, "Oh, look, there's, you know, 25 eggs." We'll tell you exactly what the right thing is to do.
And, you know, at the end of the day, there's there's really these guide these recommendations are really based on two things. One, we want you to be pregnant.
Two, we want you to have to be safe.
above that, too, because if I if I do something that, you know, makes you sick or ends you up in the hospital and you're pregnant and sick, that's a bad way to start the pregnancy.
So, we we try to frame our decisions based on safety and for you and for the baby.
But like I mentioned, this is a champagne problem because you got, you know so many eggs here.
How how old are you? I'm 31. 31, okay.
You can see some of these eggs like they're they're smaller, you know?
And some sometimes we won't get eggs from the small ones.
You know, maybe if you get 13 eggs, it's okay to do a fresh transfer.
But I said like I said, I think we'll we'll wait to see what Monday brings.
Um you could sit right up.
These don't look like I'm seeing. Um They look I think you meet all the criteria if you were triggered today.
See, there's nine.
That's eight, seven. I'm counting 17, but there may be more.
Um but I think because we're thinking maybe a fresh transfer, I think we'll do a eight what's called an hCG trigger. It's a certain type of chemical. It'll be tonight. Mary Crystal will go through with you.
It's a very specific time because 48 or sorry, 36 hours later Monday morning we'll get the results. Okay.
Um Just going to give a little bit of your chart to show you the seeding.
Okay, right on. So, we'll take care of everything. That means Monday's your big day. I don't know who's which doctor is working Monday night. Dr. Fernando.
Yeah, it's Dr. Fernando working Monday.
Okay, sure. So, he'll be doing your procedure. Okay. Don't lose sleep, okay?
It's quick. It's a quick procedure, 5 minutes.
>> Okay, sure.
>> quick. And he's excellent. Yeah. Thank you so much. Okay. Yeah. Have a good day. Yes, thank you.
One more injection.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Mhm.
Nice. Thank you.
Oh, okay. Yeah. Okay.
Sure.
Mhm.
Okay.
Okay, sure.
Mhm.
Okay.
So many things.
Okay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh, normal.
Oh, nice.
Nice.
Okay.
Yes. Yes.
I'm just kidding.
You won the You won the lotto. Yeah, I won the lottery. This is the lottery.
They gave us trigger shot. Finally. For you.
Which is finally scheduled on Monday.
Yay.
And then more progesterone tablets which I should be taking Inserting. Inserting.
Inserting after the surgery. After Monday.
So guys, we wanted to go to the temple, but the injection is time sen- uh time sensitive. And yeah, time sensitive and temperature sensitive, so we have we have to go home first and put it in the fridge and then after that we can go wherever we want to go. Yeah.
And we are going to inject that tonight.
Tonight around 8:30. And then you're going to be ready by 8:30 on Monday, 8:30 a.m. on Monday.
Yeah.
Yeah, we're just going to be making like a separate video of like the process.
>> Yeah.
And the expenditure and all that. How much you're going to expend uh spend.
I'm talking about the expending like I'm just kidding.
Uh how much you're going to spend. Mhm.
My expenses near you. Your expenses for the IVF process in BC.
Yeah. Vancouver I mean BC, Canada. I don't know what's wrong with me.
I think I'm just hungry.
Yeah, I'm hungry, too. I only had um soy milk.
Yeah, I had coffee and one peñi.
>> Oh yeah, I had peñi, also. I had Yeah, I ate the peñi, the last one. Good luck to your tummy. Yeah, so I ate the peñi and soy milk because I was hungry, you know, when I woke up.
Maybe because I took the medicine yesterday.
Yeah, the painkiller.
Good. We are so happy that it's it's almost there. Almost there.
Hey guys, so we were actually planning on doing the fresh transfer of embryo, but they're going to let us know on Monday which one's going to be the best for me. Yeah. If I should do the frozen because um Yeah, the doctor was right, too. I need to give some rest on my like I don't know whatever the tummy with the roots ovaries. I think among things you have to give little rest before you start the pregnancy. Yeah, but they're going to let us know on Monday.
on Monday which one's going to be the best for us. So, you do the fresh embryo transfer or you do the frozen embryo transfer.
So, whatever is the safe for you and the baby, they're going to recommend.
But at the end is your decision. That's what they said. Yeah, I I I did like a little bit of research which one's better. They said there's higher chances of like positive pregnancy on the frozen one. Yeah.
I think maybe because like you get enough rest and then your body's healthy. It recovers and then you're healthy. Yeah.
So guys, we're going to just like decide later on. We're going to talk about it.
>> Yep.
Yeah, talk about it.
We always talk about it. We always talk a lot. I'm just kidding. Yeah, you talk a lot.
To everyone.
They think I'm Oh, do you work here? No, I'm the patient.
Yeah, they were explaining to me on how to inject and how to take the medication. And then I look at him, are you good? Good. I said I'm good. Did you get that? I understand. I'm ready. And then I tell him Oh, because I tell them because he does all the injections.
Yeah, so I said I already know. You just tell me how much. Yeah. Just text us. That's all.
Yeah, so more instructions will be sent to us later.
>> Later alligator.
Yeah, I want to be happy.
Excited.
>> Excited. For hopefully the new chapter. Of our life.

Yeah. New team member.
Yeah. Dream first, right? Yeah, we dream.
Heavy rain.
Oh my god.

Because you cannot go out. Cannot go for walk.
So maybe today we should just stay at home.
Yeah, rest. Rest. Get ready for the trigger shot. Oh yeah.
So tonight you're going to take two of the antibiotics, right? Yes. And then tomorrow onwards it's just one.
Yes. After dinner.
One one one.
One one one. It's fine. It's almost over today.
Don't worry.
Yeah, almost over.
One of the favorite ones. Yeah.

And then when they told us to change it change it to a smaller one. Oh my god.
The relief.

Tapos yung sabi is kapag ah ng clinic dapat yung daw yung time na mag-inject ka.
Ayun, last injection na guys. Two more minutes before 10:00 p.m.
