Rat Rod 2.0! Should We Build It?Added:
All right, guys. So, we are at Induction Performance today. It's been a couple of weeks since I've given you guys an update on the shop and all the stuff we got going on. Uh, it's pretty packed in here, but believe it or not, we got a bunch of cars out of here, which is really, really nice. Um, but we got a bunch of cool new projects going on.
Want to go over some of those with you, and then we're going to talk about the I don't know what the official name is, Rat Rod Jr., we're going to talk about that today. So, uh, this uh is coming up for sale. We're fixing up a couple things on it. 3000 GT. This Supra is here for an engine. Matt Cresa is getting a new engine as well. 2J 8,000 horsepower build. Uh this is a car that we had sold recently that is now here for a full build. We'll go over everything we're going to do on this one, but this is going to be a really, really, really badass Supra. Um just test fit some wheels on it and getting ready to take it all apart. This is going to get an 8HP transmission, 3.4 four stroker, VVTi cylinder head, uh 7275 turbo. This is going to be like a really badass, I would say, ultimate street car build. Uh so excited about this one R8 that we just got in on trade. Uh this was traded in towards the R34. Um this is actually going to my buddy Adam at Brooklyn Auto Sales is going to get uh listed for sale there.
Um I'm out of space and Adam has a bunch of clients that were interested in it, so we're shipping that up to him today.
Uh, this is a car you guys, if you've been here for a while, saw early on in the channel. Uh, this was my low mileage 97 non-turbo car that I built and then sold. Came back for a turbo upgrade.
We're going to convert it to driveby wire. Uh, this car is absolutely sick. I think it's got like 36,000 mi. Um, let's look at Look at these wheels. It's my favorite set of wheels.
CCWs with Vbox in the rear, 17in wheels with 325 Mickey Thompson. Um, really clean engine compartment. Everything is chrome. We're converting it to drive by wire and changing the turbo. Customer want a little bit more uh power and also just going to update it. It had a Gen 2 turbo on it. Now it'll have a NextG uh Precision 7680.
So absolutely sick build. One of the very few cars that I regret selling. Um, yeah. And I've sold most of these cars in here. So, uh, picked this one up a couple of weeks ago. Made a bunch of changes to it. Uh, you guys may recognize the car. I guess an influencer had it. Did a build on it. Long story short, I ended up purchasing it. Uh, changed a bunch of stuff, changed the wheels. We put these also really badass CCW wheels on it. D110s, black with gold hardware. It had a ton of gold plating, which it still does. We took some off and try to break it up a little bit. Uh, next thing up for this car will be Alpha's going to tune it. Uh, it's T-56 34 Motech M150. Like, this is a real badass hot rod. Um, we got my buddy Mitch's soar on the dyno that just got a 34 stroker, Ryan Crower Crank, one of our deals. Brian power crank, uh, diamond pistons, BC rods, the works, 7275 turbo, also on Moch. Alpha's tuning that now.
This one's pretty cool, too. This car came to us. It's actually a local car that had been parked for many, many years, and customer kind of wanted to give it an overhaul. So, it's got pretty much all new drivetrain. We rebuilt the diff. It's got a T-56 swap. One of our built engines now, single turbo, Halltech ECU, um, and just kind of cleaned everything up. Joey, show them the engine, man. Show them show them what we do. Go. This wasn't anything crazy as far as like this wasn't some huge budget build, but really, really nicely done. Really clean. We got our custom battery bracket on it, a bunch of powerhouse parts, powerhouse overflow, powerhouse catch can, powerhouse valve covers, um powerhouse turbo kit, one of our built long blocks.
We vapor honed all of this, all the, you know, just did everything and made it look good and kind of tidy and whatnot.
Drove this car today for a little bit just to put some miles on it, make sure everything is good. This car ran flawlessly. AC work like the the whole nine. So, next up, this client will take this car to a body shop, have the exterior redone. Um, but really cool car. Excited to get this one out of here. We're going to come back to this.
Don't don't don't show me.
All right. So, on my boy Dan's car here, we're at the point of we just need the radiator, which is a little bit different than what we normally run, but should be here any day. Um, and then we got to do all the wiring on the car.
I'll show you guys what Andrew has been working on here in the back, which I'm pretty proud of. This is pretty cool.
So, we're gonna do a whole like trunk enclosure here. So, this will all be like leather wrapped panels um with a 10-in sub in the middle. The amp is beneath it. The battery is beneath it.
It'll have a piece that you can lift this part up and access the battery.
But, all this is being made in house. We just got a badass CNC router. Andrew's been spending a ton of time on this. Um, this is obviously far from the final product, but this will be all carbon fiber. It'll all be wrapped in leather and this is going to look really, really cool. Something that I've wanted to do in-house, so now we're going to be able to do inhouse. Um, and once we get this first one done, it'll be much easier to do more. So, really excited about that.
Um, this car is pretty cool. This car actually was shipped to us uh by a client in Japan.
Um, so it's a true right-hand drive Japanese JM Sport Supra. Uh, as you can see, we completely stripped the interior, took the windshield out of it, took all the drivetrain out of it. We're building an engine for it right now. And then this car is going to actually go up to Maryland. Our friends at 1320 Fabrication are going to do full 255 cage and a bunch of other stuff. Do all the chassis side of it. Then the car will come back, put a motor in it, put a transmission in it. Uh, hoping to make World Cup finals with this car. This car is actually going to be uh our goal is to have a 7second six-speed car. So, this will be our first uh manual transmission build of its kind that we've done to that extent. Most of the cars we do are street cars. So, excited to see how that goes. Um and then I guess now we'll go back to what are we calling it, Joey? Is it Rat Rod Jr.?
>> Rat Rod Jr.
>> Rat Ro Jun.
>> I don't know. But Dan's getting a unit.
>> No, Dan's car is we have to when Andrew's done and Denny everybody's done. Denny does then the guys do the wiring and every everything is done.
We're going to do a video dedicated to this car. Um showed you the trunk. I've shown you some bits and pieces, but I could probably spend an hour going over this car front to back. Every single thing on this car is brand new and it's all really badass. So >> now the color contrast.
>> Don't show too much. Don't show too much. We're going to do we're going to do a video on this thing as soon as it is complete, which is very soon. So Rat Rod 2.0 No, Rat Rod Jr.
bought this car a couple of weeks ago.
One of our followers reached out and said, "Hey, I've got a Supra. It's been sitting outside for years. It's kind of rough, but I'd like to sell it. Let's make a deal." We made a deal. Uh picked the car up the very next day, actually.
Like, it was pretty quick. I worked pretty quick when we're getting these things. And actually, you know, it's kind of rough, but it ain't that bad.
The the the nuts and bolts of this one ain't that bad. This is really good. So, it's a hard top car, which is really, really cool. Original non-turbo. All the vent tags are present. Clean car facts. No issues there. Uh, believe it or not, it had been sitting for years. We drained the fuel, we put fresh fuel in it, and it fired right up. So, I was originally just going to sell this car as it was.
And it seemed like there was a lot of interest in us possibly building another version of the rat rod. Uh, so I can't say for sure what we're going to do cuz I have not even made that decision. As of right now, we are literally using this car just for mockup. Uh, so we put, it's originally a non-turbo car. We put a turbo cylinder head on it. We put a Hyperune um, intake manifold on it. We put a badass powerhouse intercooler with billet end tanks and put a radiator with our ink kit because we're going to do a bunch of fab work on it. Um, which I'm excited to show you guys. We're going to do something pretty cool on the hot side. Um, and just do some new different things. But I do not know what's going to stay on the car, what's going to come off the car, what we're going to do. But I do want some of your input and feedback. So, let us know in the comments what you would like to see us do with this car. Uh, we got it for a really good deal. So, this one would probably be it would make sense to keep around and do some fun stuff with it. Maybe we build something and we go race cleat. See who's got the faster rat rod.
>> Um, so yeah, comment below. Let us know what you'd like to see us do with this thing. Next stop, we're going to be headed to Michigan for uh Shakedown with the Promod. Uh really excited about that. Got the engine completely refreshed. Got a brand new Brian Crower crankshaft. Um so, you know, we run BC stuff in all of our cars, but BC doesn't have a lot of stuff in like the domestic world, and they're starting to break into that. Uh so, they made us a crankshaft for the Proline Hemi. Proline refreshed the engine, put the crankshaft in it. Uh so, yeah, we're going to head up to Michigan. The air should be pretty good. The track prep there is usually very very good. We're hoping to go pretty fast and hopefully go some rounds. Uh we did pretty well with Goldie at our last event, our last two events. Cars ran good. Had, you know, things happen. You know, always win them all, but feeling good as far as like driving, really comfortable, really excited. Got a good crew, got a good car, got a good tuner, good parts.
Hopefully all the stars align. Maybe we can go some rounds. Maybe we can pull off a W there. Um, but yeah, let us know what you want to see us do with this Rat Rod Junior Rat Rod 2.0. Actually, maybe even help us out with the name. And maybe this will be our first like channel build start to finish. And maybe we'll do some cool stuff with this.
Maybe it could be a burnout car. Maybe it could be a giveaway car. Maybe we build it and we sell it. Do we paint it?
Do we not paint it? Who knows? So, comment below. Let us know what you want to see. And we'll see you next time, guys.
