Weather forecasting involves predicting temperature trends, precipitation patterns, and atmospheric conditions over time. In this forecast, temperatures are expected to remain hot (94-95°F) through Wednesday before dropping significantly (20-25°F) to around 71°F by Friday as a weather front moves through, bringing scattered showers and thunderstorms. The forecast demonstrates how meteorologists analyze historical patterns and current conditions to predict future weather events, including temperature changes, precipitation timing, and wind patterns.

WAVY Weather Afternoon Update | May 20, 2026Added:
Temperatures are likely to be just as warm, just as hot as they've been over the past couple of days. We had 94 on Monday and Tuesday. Likely to be 94, 95° coming up on Wednesday during the afternoon hours. Those are the things that are by 4:00 in the afternoon, 10-15 mph winds, a little gusty at times.
Humidity is moderate. It's not horrible, but still it's up there a bit. Starting the day around 73°. Now, it it depends on when this front makes it on in. It's all hot it gets. I'm going low 80s. And you can see this is going 87, 90° into the region. Well, I tend to think low 80s as we'll see some cloud cover and this front drop on in. Now, those are the things that are by 4:00 in the afternoon. We've got some rainfall, showers and thunderstorms into the afternoon and nighttime hours. Those are the things that are by 7:00 in the evening, some rumbles of thunder going on. And you can see 60s and then 80s farther to the south to the south of that front. Everybody cools off though by the overnight hours as everybody gets at least a little bit of rain. And by Friday morning, everybody's in the cool air. I'm going for a high around 70, 71° if we're lucky really during the day coming up on Friday. Scattered showers, light rain showers off and on through the day. And those are the things that are by Saturday morning. It'll be quiet on Friday night. And then things start picking up again by Saturday morning with a northeasterly breeze and some light scattered showers. So, just a complete change. We'll see a 20, 25° temperature drop coming up over the next couple of days from 95 to 71 for a high coming up on Friday if we're lucky. Those are the things that are Wednesday, 95, 82 but dropping. We could even get warmer than that, but still dropping by the end of the day. And by the end of the day, good chance of rain.
And a chance of rain, none of these days look to be a washout, a total washout.
So, you can have plenty of time now and then you know, to get out and get groceries, whatever. But our Memorial Day weekend forecast is not real great.
We'll see some scattered showers off and on through Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
