MRE (Meal Ready-to-Eat) packs are self-contained military meals designed for extended field operations, typically containing over 4,000 calories and weighing approximately 4+ pounds. These meals include multiple components such as breakfast items (porridge, muesli, tea, coffee), main courses (meatballs, vegetables, rice), and desserts (cereal bars, cakes, spreads). Proper preparation involves adding hot water to rehydrate powdered components, with specific water measurements indicated on each packet. The meals are designed to be eaten cold or at room temperature, though heating can enhance flavor. MREs provide complete nutrition through a combination of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, with accessory packs offering additional condiments, sauces, and beverages to complement the main meals.

24 HOUR DENMARK MRE --- WOW!!!!Added:
All right, guys. We have a Danish 24-hour MRE.
This is kind of crazy. It It's over It's over 4,000 calories.
And weighs It says weighs about 3 and 1/2 lb, but I put it on the scale. It's over four. It's about 4 and 1/4 lb. So, that must mean if you take everything out of the packaging, it's a little under 4 lb, but with the packaging, it's over four.
So, good heft to it.
We're going to start with breakfast.
Let's get this thing going. All right.
We've got two breakfast, what I'm considering breakfast. Krun almond and seeds porridge. I'm kind of looking forward to that, actually.
>> [laughter] >> Try that. And then we have your classic muesli.
This one's going to be chocolate. We'll give that a whirl.
We're going to have an orange drink.
Right here. And then let's see what else we have in our accessory packs.
Kind of cool here. I like opening accessory packs from other countries cuz they're always so different and unexpected, typically.
Let's take a nice handy reusable bag there. So, we have tea with lemon flavor.
We have green tea.
Oh, and we have breakfast tea. Wow, that's nice. I'm going to have to set the breakfast tea aside for breakfast.
We have instant coffee. Got to try some of that.
Sugar.
More coffee. Sugar. Creamer. There was some creamer. Get some creamer out there. And let's put one sugar, too.
There we go.
We have some more coffee. Golly, look at that. Sugar. A lot of coffees and teas.
>> Sugar. Sugar. Yes.
Sugar. So, we've got what, six sugars?
Here we go, an instant cocoa beverage powder.
Oh, spicy sauce. That'll go with We have, among other things, later, we have chicken meatballs.
Um We've got pepper, salt, dehydrated instant soup times two.
One is curry and one is vegetable.
There.
So, that's all in one accessory. That was a loaded sausage accessory.
>> that is. And and that's just going to uh augment and complement every every the other two meals that because the other two meals, what do we have? Spicy chicken meatballs and let's see I have it written down here.
And oh, and sausage with kale.
One of my favorites. All right, let's see what else we have here.
Oh, fruit biscuits.
We have Wow, this is just loaded.
What do we have here? Another biscuit.
Grov Grov Kiks.
Wheat biscuit. It's a wheat biscuit, okay.
Lemon flavored pound or lemon flavored cake.
Feels uh feels real moist or or spongy, I should say.
We have napkins. Oh, check that out. You got Vincent van Gogh Starry Night on it.
Picture of the napkin, that's great. All right, this is looking like a great MRE.
Like this is peanut butter peanut butter. Oh my word. This This reminds me of of being on ship when I was in the Marine Corps I got to be on ship a couple times.
And those guys could eat like every 2 hours it seemed like there was some kind of chow hall open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and midrats. And the the time frames were like 2 hours cuz they had to let all the guys enough time to get in to eat chow, maybe 3 hours. But as a Marine, I wasn't uh I didn't have like a exact duty every day. I had kind of optional duty with what I did.
And so, I did a lot of eating. I'm sure I gained weight on the on the the cruise ship with 300 of my close personal friends.
Anyway, there's a cereal bar. This just keeps getting better.
Oh, check it out. No, look at this. This is wild.
It's like a a plastic composite spoon. Can you see that on that side?
That's cool. Isn't that wild? Kind of It's I'm sure it's some kind of recycled material. That's cool.
Hopefully it doesn't come apart in my mouth.
Coco flavored hazelnut spread, think Nutella.
This is wild.
Apricot jam.
Oh, you got your vitamin D tablets.
Huh? Couple of hand wipes.
And finally, what do we have here?
We Oh, toothpick.
Times two.
Wow.
Chewing gum.
That's peppermint and chewing gum spearmint. Wow.
Well, I'll tell you what. Let's get started with breakfast and get this other stuff put away.
Okay.
Well, I got three hot waters. Which seems a little counterintuitive because it's Florida and it's already warm.
But, here we go. So, I've got the tea already steeping. That's looking good.
Now, we are going to go with the hot cocoa. Sometimes on the hot cocoas, they'll say you could do it hot or cold.
This specifically says pour it in hot water. So, I measured out it's 200 ml, which is about 6 and 3 3/4 oz of water.
So, we will put that right in this glass or cup, rather.
Here we go.
And that is a pretty close to being an exact measurement right there.
Close for a US service member as it can get. We'll stir that up good.
And then we have our coffee here somewhere.
There we go.
Instant coffee.
This is kind of a to taste, at least that's how I've always done coffee.
I don't like mine particularly strong.
So, we will go with this much. Let's see what those granules look like. Oh, yeah.
Look at that. Those are big chunks.
Sometimes you get real fine powder.
These are good crystals good chunks.
Drop those in the box or in the in the cup.
Here we go.
All right. We'll let those steep a minute.
Get them stirred up.
Let's open up some more things here.
Oh, what do we have here? We've got a fruit biscuits.
I don't know if I've ever had a fruit biscuit.
That's interesting. Check that out.
We have a six of them.
And uh the middle ones made the journey pretty well.
I don't know if that's going to be pieces of fruit in them They smell a little bit like a graham cracker kind of. There's some kind of a sweet smell to them.
Let's set one out here. I'll have one of those.
And um oh, shoot. I've got an orange powder. I guess I get to have something cold. I'll save that for a little bit.
We have our apricot jam.
Ah, there it is. This has a pre Look at that, pre-torn, ready to go.
We just complete the tear.
Uh There we go.
Looks like apricot jam.
And all right, let's say a quick prayer.
Lord God in heaven, again, thank you for this day you've made that we can rejoice and be glad in it. I ask you bless this food to my body in Christ's name.
Amen.
Let's try some crackers, some biscuit fruit biscuit with jam. First, we'll try fruit biscuit. Let's do that.
It's like a shortbread cookie. It's good.
I don't taste any fruit. It's just sweet, but not overly sweet. I think the jam will uh go a little ways to Mhm.
That made it good.
That picked it up, elevated it a little bit. I'm going to stir my coffee.
There we go. And we're going to have a little bit of coffee with our biscuits.
And jam. That's a good coffee. It's smooth.
Oh, yeah, smooth, good coffee. I wouldn't uh I'm not going to add anything to it cuz I like black coffee anyway.
And I'll have a little more biscuit and jam.
There we go.
Nice way to start breakfast.
Coffee's good and hot. Good.
Very nice.
Got a little I love these napkin packets.
You got them.
And you open them up, take one out, reseal it, boom.
Very cool. Very cool.
All right.
Well, we need a little bit of water for our our breakfast uh meal portion, so let me go grab some more water.
So, I got the hot water into my chocolate muesli. Interesting here on both of these packets, if you look, it tells me exactly where to put the water.
So, that's kind of nice. So, let's do our porridge.
Has the uh handy-dandy opening things.
Precut.
Open that. Ooh, check that powder out.
That's kind of cool-looking.
Says to add uh boiling water, which this just came out of the microwave. I see the line.
So, we will add You know, I'm going to do that over the side here. Sorry.
Perfect.
And then you're supposed to seal it.
And with that hot water, you want to make sure you seal it right because uh you don't want to spill it on you. And then you're just supposed to mix it up.
Kind of cool you got underneath there, you got the pouch like that. See, you mix it up, stir it up good.
Got to keep mixing it.
And what we'll do is uh we'll leave it all set, and then here in a minute we'll get her out on the tray and try each of them.
All right.
So, I'm going to set these down, and let's get our water for the orange drink.
Again, I'm thinking it's going to be like Tang, I'm I'm guessing.
I measured out exactly the right amount of water.
There we go.
And we'll stir it up good.
Then we'll move over to our hot chocolate, give that a try while this is dissolving up good.
It don't look like much, really.
It looks like muddy water.
It's like some of the brackish water we've been fishing lately.
Mhm, set that aside.
And here's our hot chocolate. All right.
It's had a good chance to stir up good, to mix up good.
Here we go.
Mhm.
It's not bad. I measured out the exact amount of water. I think if I were going to make it again, I'd cut back on the water a little bit. And we are going to use a little cream. That might uh make it a little better, too.
Because it just uh like I say, I think I'd back off on that water just a bit if I were going to make this myself. We'll let that make the uh dissolution good there.
There we go.
Let's see if a little cream didn't hurt us.
Helped us out.
Yeah. Yeah.
That added a little more um little more uh body to it. That's that makes it better, definitely.
All right. So, we've had our coffee, good good cup of coffee.
Now it's time for our English breakfast tea. But before we do that, let's pause a moment, have another little bit of cookie and apricot jam.
Definitely good stuff.
So, we have um Denmark's idea of English breakfast tea.
Smells great.
That's a smooth tea. Wow. Sometimes when you have tea, there's a real like a bitter I don't I'm not sure what if it's a lower end tea or what that is, but that's a very smooth tea, but it being breakfast tea, I want to go ahead and add a little sugar to it.
We'll have one packet.
When I was a kid, uh my grandma always had tea. My my German grandmother.
And um she was actually from Holland, but she was considered German. And um we'd always have baby tea. We had uh we added sugar and cream.
And it was mostly sugar and cream for the kids.
Uh the tea was very weak, but that was that was had us drink baby tea. So, as soon as I got older and could go ahead and drink tea without anything, I did that cuz I didn't like the idea of drinking baby tea when all the adults were around.
Oh, that makes it even better. A little sweetness to it.
This will definitely get me going for my caffeine in the morning.
You need a lot of caffeine in it.
Yeah.
As long as this isn't an energy drink, right?
>> She's hadn't thought of that. Yeah, I don't need that. Uh-uh.
All right. So, here's our orange drink.
Now, see, I added what they said, and it it's a good flavor but it's not powerful enough.
>> [snorts] >> I I should have cut that back about 40 ml, an ounce or so, and and had it that way cuz this is not the it's watered down orange juice. Have you ever been to the restaurant in the morning when you get the free juice and you and you take a drink and it's like, that's not right. Cuz they didn't they don't have enough orange juice in the machine still, so it's mixing with too much water.
That's what this is like. But, it has the taste of orange though.
I'd drink it, but I'd definitely mix it with less water in the field.
All right.
Let's see what we have here.
>> [snorts] >> We will do our chocolate first because it's been in the it's been in the packet the longest.
All right. Still pretty warm.
Let's get her out there.
See what it looks like.
Boy, that's chocolate, ain't it?
Spread it out over the two compartments there.
It smells good.
It actually smells really good.
Make sure we don't have a bunch of smells like a chocolate oatmeal cookies.
Mhm.
Kind of smells like no-bake cookies.
Yeah, yeah, exactly. Yeah, it does. And well, there's a lot of stuff left down in there. I think If I had this uh if I had this out in the field, I think I'd be cutting that packet back with a scissors or a knife or something and making sure I could get after everything, but well, we've got a little bit of gravy there, if you will.
And let's try us a bite. You know what?
Before we Yeah, let's do let's try this a bite first.
I like the oats, man. That just looks good.
I'll have It's perfect as far as the oat the oats are they're soft. They're like a they really are a lot like an oatmeal cookie.
Um it it's it's not too shabby at all. I it's it's a little much on the chocolate. You know, it's like that chocolate might even be like rice crispies chocolate cuz they're still in the the they're still pellet forms in there. I'm thinking there is that rice in there as well.
Mhm.
But pretty good.
What it could use is some sugar.
Put a little sugar on the top here.
That's got to help.
Yeah, I just looked.
There's uh there's the oats of course.
And then um milk and rice.
So, there's some rice in there and some wheat it said.
That tastes just like a chocolate chip cookie or a chocolate uh oatmeal cookie.
That's good. I see you should try some.
I think you'd like it. Not bad, huh?
Mhm. Oh, good.
All right. Now, we're going to move over to our pure uh prune, almond, and seeds porridge. I'm actually really looking forward to this.
Now, that's interesting. I added the water they said. I added up to the line, but you can see there's still some powder in there. I think I'm going to add a little more water cuz I don't want to be drinking a bunch of powder.
I won't do too much.
Hopefully that'll uh mix up good.
Here we go.
It's hard to get out of there, that's for sure. It doesn't just drop right out.
Get the spoon to help us.
It's nice cuz they have that fill line, but if the fill line doesn't work, then uh Yeah, I just maybe I didn't mix it up right. I don't know. It seems It seems more like cookie dough actually right now.
Um I'll give it a try here.
It doesn't really smell like anything. I can see almonds in there.
I see some looks like probably some prunes.
And um definitely your oat flakes.
Cool.
All right.
Give it a whirl shot here.
That's wild. It is It's just like, you know, when you're a kid, you lick the bowl.
It tastes like it could should be made into cookies.
But I could use a little sugar on it. Now I understand why they gave us all the sugars, I think.
Add a little sugar here.
They held off on the recipe so you could add it to taste.
>> There you go. That's right. I'm going to put a little more water in it, too.
There we go.
And uh mix that up a bit. Ooh, man. The The almonds are good in it.
I'm thinking one thing here though, guys.
This might be I I I I like chocolate, fine, but not as much as some, but this might be perfect. Let's try this all mixed up like this now.
Look at that. You see the slivered almonds in there? That's pretty cool.
All right.
Ooh.
That made it even better.
I can see this, I mean, on a cold morning in Denmark or out in the woods somewhere with that hot water in there.
Uh that that would make a good porridge.
But, we've got to try a little mixture of some chocolate with that porridge.
Chocolate with prunes, you know, and almonds.
You know, I think on that deal, I'd probably prefer to leave them separate because I I Yeah, I like this just the way it is.
I like the chocolate fine just the way it is and uh that's not a bad start to the day.
One more thing to try here.
And that is our We're going to do our coffee.
A little bit of coffee.
Here we go.
A little bit of coffee or chocolate.
Here we go.
Mhm.
How about mocha drink?
So, for me, it's not bad, but give me the chocolate and then give me the coffee. I like them separate.
Not a bad meal though, guys. Um Open up our toothpick.
Get things cleaned up in the mouth and get ready for lunch.
All right. So, I got lunch all set out.
What we're going to do first, there are two items that I heated water up for.
One is the tea. Uh we got three teas if you recall. This is going to be our lemon tea.
Uh we'll put that and let it steep for a while. That water is hot.
And then, the other thing we'll do we have our soup. It's a vegetable broth soup. There we go.
And I have hot water for it as well in this bigger soup mug, I guess you could say. Well, hopefully it comes out. Oh. Ooh, that's interesting.
I don't think I've ever seen soup come out quite like that. It's supposed to be powdered. Mhm. Um Yeah, well, it's hot water. We'll let that do what it's going to do.
They're two hot things. It's in Flo- We're in Florida. It's hot.
So, what I'm going to do is the rest of it, the the powdered drinks and the main, I'm going to just go room temperature. So, uh what we have here smells good. It's called exotic flavor. So, let's see what this looks like.
Oh, look at that. It's Oh, wow.
That is cool. What is that? That's a C-130.
You know, I I don't know. I I would have thought it was a C-130 back in the day, but I don't know relatively speaking how big aircraft are. I'm sure people in the comment section could help me out there.
Um when I was in, C-130 was pretty much all we had. That was low flying.
>> Yeah, that was low flying, but they had You know, that might very well be cuz they had four props. I don't know what the new ones are.
I I I just haven't kept up, so.
Anyway, we have the exotic drink here.
And this one is going to be interesting.
It's grapefruit flavor.
Seems like a lot of European drinks are grapefruit. I like it. Smelled right away as soon as I opened it. That's wild.
And what I did is it says use 250 ml of water. I put about 200 cuz you know me, I like my drinks kind of strong. So, we're going to do it that way.
And then um Yeah, we'll we'll stir stir everything up a little bit here. And then I'm going to open up a couple more things that we have that are kind of very interesting to me. So, let's stir the uh And then that soup That's not stirring up so good. That's just big old Maybe it's compromised.
Yeah. We'll be careful drinking that, but hopefully it it'll It smells good. I can smell it. It smells really good.
All right.
So, next thing we've got biscuits and there are actually three. They tear apart. So, we have one I didn't realize that. I thought it was one package for biscuits. One, two, three.
Um set this one aside.
And uh let's see what these look like.
Usually biscuits or some kind of cracker or cookie is what they've been in the past, but I don't know about these here.
That looks interesting.
Looks like a whole grain kind of something.
Mhm.
Interesting.
I'm going to have to try some of that here in a minute.
We have uh a cereal bar.
Caramel flavored cereal bar.
Ooh, that That looks really good.
Look at that.
Check that out.
It has And I read it. Yeah, it was an energy bar, so it has some some crazy stuff in it as well, but uh it just says grains and energy. Hm. So, caramel flavored.
Looks like rice, oats, uh some kind of fruit in there.
Maybe some nuts.
Um and then I have spicy sauce for our main. Let's see what that's like. And check this out. This is our hazelnut, think Nutella, spread. We'll get that out by our cereal bar.
Oh, yeah.
That's It looks just like Nutella, doesn't it?
A ribbon of flavor here.
I should have made that opening a little bigger, but that'll work.
There we go.
All right. Let's We'll put the spicy sauce out, too, cuz I'm curious as to how this looks.
I might We might save a little bit of it in the container for in the packet for supper, rather. Oh, boy, that looks like some kind of hot hot Tabasco sauce or something. Interesting.
Okay.
And then I still have some coffees left.
There's one more tea left. We're going to save that.
So, what we have here for the main, we're going to have it room temperature, like I said. Potatoes, kale, and sausage.
So, we'll get that out.
That's interesting. A little more pasty than I thought it would be.
I thought it was going to be real liquidy.
Huh.
Wow.
That's unexpected.
>> Yeah.
>> I don't know.
>> [laughter] >> Unexpected good or just unexpected?
Let's see, I guess. Yeah, let's get all of it out. Make sure you get >> of kale in there. There is it. I can smell the kale, too.
Yeah, yeah, it smells like collard greens. It's like this like turnip greens, mustard greens. Yeah, yeah. Wow, that's that's wild. And then we do have our salt and pepper if we need it. We'll need that right there.
All right, so well, let's let's start with our cold drinks first.
So again, I didn't put quite enough water in it like they suggested. I kept it about 20% back cuz I like my drinks a little strong.
That's definitely great for Ooh.
I don't know if you know Yeah, if you've ever tried grapefruit, you know, they're a little bit of a little twang to it.
Yeah.
That's that's good. I mean, I If you like grapefruit, it's good. It's a little sour for me, but I'd drink it. I I kind of enjoy the the different taste.
When I was a kid, I hated grapefruit.
My mom had it to ate it a lot of time for diet food.
It's supposed to curb your hunger, and man, I She'd always ask me to try it. I hated it.
So this is the exotic fruit.
Taste like um I think it's got uh passion fruit, uh lemon, orange.
That's good. That's actually I prefer that. It's all sweet and fruity. That's real bitter for Yeah, real bitter to me.
All right. Try a little cracker here.
Or biscuit, as they say.
Mhm.
It tastes like a a bit like a wheat thin if you kind of exploded a wheat thin and put a lot of air in it. Wheat thin is like this but compressed.
So, it's quite you know, kind of flaky. If you see it breaks up pretty easily like that.
So, it's it's interesting. It's a It's a good taste. I I like it.
I think it might go good with our main.
So, you do dessert first?
Sure.
All right. So, here's our caramel bar.
We'll try a bite first. I'm going to take this end. It's got some fruit on the tip of it there.
It's real sweet. I mean, real sweet.
It said it has energy in it. I can taste rice.
I can feel the and taste the oats.
Some kind of chia seeds or something in there. It's a It's a really tasty bar.
But, we got to try it with the uh Nutella.
Wow.
That's really good. You wouldn't care for it. I'll just save this for myself for later.
Actually, that's really You You really should try it, Easton. Mhm. That's good.
But, with the chocolate it it just it's like having a uh piece of uh like uh what do you call it?
Mhm. Like brown like brown cake and what's that like applesauce cake or something, but then you add the chocolate to it and it's like boom, it just brings it right up. I think those were probably made for each other there.
>> Yeah, definitely. That That is dang good. Heck yeah.
Heck yeah. It's like having a piece of cake or cookie kind of thing with a frosting on top.
>> Yeah, exactly. Exactly.
We'll have a little bit of our lemon tea.
That's got lemon in it, that's for sure.
Infused with lemon, that's good actually. It cuts the whatever you've been eating, it cuts it real well.
There's a little bitter to it. Of course, I just ate a bunch of sweet, but if I were drinking this, I'd probably you know, I am going to put sugar in it.
I think that'll really improve it. It's quite quite bitter. That lemon makes it bitter.
Let's put some sugar in.
There we go. The flavor's good, but it's still a little bitter.
Mhm.
There you go. That's good.
Took a lot of that bitterness taste off.
All right. Well, try the the soup next. Check that out.
It's looks like it's broken down pretty good. Just give it a whirl. Yeah, give it an extra stir, too.
Yeah, I don't see any of the um the junk, you know, big clump clumps of stuff in there. Looks like a couple little carrots on top.
Check that out. Carrots and onion on top. You see that?
Diced carrots and diced onions, maybe a little bit of parsley.
It smells delicious.
Oh, man. That is good. Ooh. If you're going to make this, it called for 250 ml of water, I cut it to 200.
That's the way to do it.
Mhm.
That's really good. You I think you'd enjoy that. That's really tasty.
Well, let us I'm going to cleanse the palate here in a second.
I'll probably use this to cleanse the palate.
And now we take a look at our kale and sausage and rice. You can definitely see the sausage there.
There's potatoes in there. I guess kale, potatoes, and sausage. That's what it was.
So, we'll try a little bit first. A little bit everything there.
It's not bad, but I think it could use salt.
Before I do that, let's get some some of the spicy sauce. Let's do this.
Take a little of that. Dip it in a little bit.
Can see it under there.
That adds some That actually imparts some good flavor to it. Really? Yeah, it does. Um mix that up.
Interesting. Yeah, the the sausage is a little bland, which kind of surprises me.
But, when you add that spicy sauce to it, it adds another element. It makes it better, for sure.
I don't know if um heating this up would make that big of a difference in the flavor.
Yeah.
I'd definitely add the spicy sauce to that and mix it in throughout.
Um that's the way to do that.
So, those were made to go together as well.
>> Yeah. Yeah, I definitely the bar and the chunk.
>> Yes. Yeah, I picked that right.
Now, now, then you don't need salt.
Overall, this has been really good. Yeah, I'm going to finish it up for lunch and we'll head off to supper.
All right, my friends. Supper time. But, before we go to supper, we switched venues, obviously. A little too noisy on the ocean side. But, at lunch, I added to the kale and sausage and potatoes.
They were a little dry, and I took the soup that I had and added it to the uh kale the mixture, and it made it a a creamier. And the the flavor of the soup is fantastic. So, ended up finishing that whole thing. It was good.
Time for supper.
I've taken the liberty of opening the green tea already. We've got that steeping here.
Green tea is just a tea that instead of going through the normal process of letting it get real black and making it black tea, uh they harvest it and right away start processing it while it's still green.
And uh as a result, they call it zero oxidation. Oxidation is just a fancy word for browning. They don't allow it to brown. So, it has some supposed good effects or positive effects. Great. Uh so, we got the soup uh uh cooking off or or uh uh what do we call that when it when it Steeping. Steeping, that's it. It's steeping. Um it is a Boy, that's real thick. You can see the um Yeah, it came out powdery, but uh and I put it in boiling water, but we'll have to let that It's curry soup. So, hopefully that's going to be a really good soup as well. We have some other things to mix here. We have another grapefruit drink, which we've already had. We know we like it.
I measured out the uh the amount of water, but I did make it a little lighter as far as not uh not quite as much water as as before. So, that should be good. But, this is the one that's going to be kind of fun to me to try.
It is a um a milkshake.
And you're supposed to add 250 to 300 ml of ice cold water. So, I had ice in this water. It just now, just in the last few minutes, melted down. So, the ice is gone. So, we're going to put this product right in there.
So, let it start steeping.
All right.
Let's stir up our grapefruit drink.
Got to make sure we get all that off there. We don't want any grapefruit in the milk.
That did not I thought it might like kind of collapse a little bit. It sure hasn't. So, we're going to have to really stir that up and they did say let it set 5 to 10 minutes. So, we'll stir it up good.
It smells wonderful. I love vanilla shakes. I just love vanilla shakes. So, hopefully that's as good as it smells.
Now, again, we're in Florida. I have the main sitting out there in the sun.
Should heat up pretty good.
Let's Oh, let's open another one of our biscuits. We have a uh several birds around us here. Hopefully, they won't get in the way or be too loud. They smell food. Yeah, really.
So, this is that uh biscuit we had at lunch. It's a flavorful biscuit, not too much. It's real light.
Yeah, that'll be that'll be good. We are going to have with that peanut butter.
Says I smell biscuits. Yeah.
All right, let's see about our peanut butter here.
It's got some liquids and solids like peanut butter does when it's left alone for a while. They start to separate.
No matter, we can mix it all back together.
There we go.
That looks interesting, a little thicker that or thinner than I'm used to with peanut butter. Next, uh it's not particularly appetizing, I don't guess.
We've got our cake. It's a lemon-flavored cake.
It don't smell much yet.
Very moist.
Yeah, I don't know if it's cuz of the breeze or what, but there's not a lot of lemon flavor going on there that I can smell. Should have the lemon tea that we had at lunch with this cake maybe.
Maybe they were meant to go together.
Yeah, maybe.
All right.
There you go.
Looks a little dry, doesn't it? Mhm.
Yeah, we'll see. We'll see.
And then um Mains heating up. Let's just get started with what we have here first. Um first we have to try the crackers and peanut butter. We know we like the crackers.
We'll mix the little peanut butter together, the solids with the liquids.
There we go.
Make it a little more palatable, I think.
Here we go.
Give it a try here.
Oh, good.
That's good peanut butter.
Peanut butter actually came from the UK.
Said it was packaged in the UK. I don't know if it was the peanuts were grown there.
I'm not sure about that, but came out of the UK. One of the only things.
Have a little more, Al.
Mhm.
That's good peanut butter, just not much of it.
But it is good.
I brought water this time so I could cleanse the palate with something other than the drinks.
There we go.
All right.
Let's get our green tea bag out here.
It is interesting that even the tea bag you can see the green leaves in it.
It's greener than the black tea for sure.
Give this a try.
Oh, wow.
It's very mild.
Interesting. In fact, there is a difference between black tea and green tea.
Mhm.
It's not unpleasant, just different. Um depends on what you're going for. They say green tea doesn't necessarily have less caffeine, but it tends to. They can make it different ways, apparently. Typically it does, but not always. So, anywhere from 30 to 50% less caffeine than a black tea.
So, there is that. Um let's try our cake next.
Here we go.
Lemon cake.
It's not bad.
It's not bad at all. In fact, it pairs very well with the tea.
Glad we did that.
Mhm. Yeah, that's not bad at all. Wow, that goes well together.
Cook uh cake and tea, nice. Very nice.
Well, let's just move right over to our soup here.
Can't really see much uh in the way of vegetables in here. I still see a little bit on the bottom that's not dissolved, but we'll get past that.
Try some curry soup.
I backed off on the water a little bit.
I'm glad I did. It has a decent flavor.
Um curry when I think of curry, I think of hot. It's not a uh spicy hot.
Maybe I'm thinking of curry is maybe curry isn't just automatically hot.
There is a unique taste to it that there's an Indian kind of flavor to it to me.
Um it's good. It's a very tasty very tasty soup. Um very actually real tasty.
Um give this um We already know we like the um uh grapefruit drink, but I made this with less water. Let's see if that makes a good difference for the for how powerful it is.
Yep, that's definitely more powerful and I'm glad to have it, but uh I prefer the tea and I'm thinking I'm going to like that uh vanilla shake better, too.
Definitely want to cleanse the palate from that.
All right.
Get our main opened up here.
It has the handy-dandy tear.
I like that.
Get her out onto the tray.
Well, there's a meatball. You know, I'm just going to put a little bit out cuz I I've got to carry all this back up. It might be easier to carry it back up like this.
Mhm.
Uh chicken meatballs.
There's something that doesn't sound right about that, you know?
I don't When I think of chicken, I don't think of balls. I I I don't think of some kind of meatballs out of made out of chicken. Maybe it's just my limited experience in culinary adventures, but uh that's not the first thing that comes to my mind. But, we also have the rice stew. I see corn, peas, rice. Oh, there's a little bit of uh maybe a piece of tomato.
So, we'll get some corn and peas and a little bit of tomato and a little bit of the uh chicken meatball.
Here we go.
Okay.
The uh the rice and the sauce and the vegetables, that that's pretty good. It needs some salt, but the the meatball part, I wish I had some leftover hot sauce from lunch because that would have gone well. I was going to save it, but I ended up using all the hot sauce in our in the lunch item. So, let's do this. Let's see if the some salt does it hurt those meatballs a little bit.
Can't hurt them at all.
And some pepper.
See what that how that goes down on them.
I bet you that will improve things.
There we go.
And let's see here.
Oh, there's a green bean in there, too.
I didn't see that That helped. That definitely helped. In fact, I'm going to get get it on camera this time. Instead of just eating it like this, we're going to pour a little bit of the curry soup.
That's really going to add I think some good flavor. Let me just do this.
I think that's going to make for a great combo.
Might not look the best, but Oh, yeah.
That is absolutely the way to do it.
I wonder if that's why they put the soup in there, to to actually put them together.
Yeah. Mhm.
Mhm.
Very good.
Very nice.
That's going to be a good supper.
In fact, add a little more of that curry flavor.
Very good. Very good.
And now, we have a milkshake.
It's been allowed to steep for a while. Again, with a milkshake, I backed off a little bit on the water.
Give it uh full flavor, I hope. Hope that was a good idea.
Water's still cold.
We're just looking at you.
Wow.
It's really it it's it's really good, but it's weird because it it's the consistency of just a little bit more than water like a hot chocolate so that it's not water but it's not like a shake would be like even a even if you had a shake that melted it would still be thicker. So it's a real thin but great flavored shake definitely and then you can see some of on the top it's all the little little pieces haven't dissolved completely so when you drink it you get it get a few of those chunks in there mix them up in your mouth and that's a damn good shake. Wow. And in cold water that's the way to do it. That that is good. That is really good.
Wow let's try a bit of that. Try a little of that. That's good.
Yeah that'd be nice sweet way to end the day.
Well I'll tell you what instead of each having one of each I'm going to give you a a gum you get the peppermint so you can get the spearmint.
All right sir. Cheers. Cheers.
Spearmint's good. It's It's flavorful. It's interesting cuz I just I should have cleansed my palate and had a little vanilla with it but it is good. It's It's a good a good gum.
Mine's really refreshing. Yeah cleanse my teeth out good.
Wow.
All three meals were fantastic. A lot of food a lot of variety. This meal from Denmark is good. If you can get your hands on one of these I I would recommend it for sure. Thanks for hanging out. Let's go after the next one.
