This video demonstrates a Grade 5 mathematics performance task where students solve real-world problems including calculating total costs for care packages ($180 + $120 + $250 + $350 = $900 per package, $9,000 for 10 packages), creating donation tables, comparing unit prices for better deals, calculating event durations (45 minutes for talent contest), dividing time equally among participants (45 ÷ 9 = 5 minutes per contestant), and finding differences between values (48 - 36 = 12).

Carefully read the instruction to the task, then move on.
You will be given 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Part one, determine the cost of the care packages. You and your members of the 58 club at your school would like to deliver some care packages in the community. The table shows the cost of each item in the care package. item.
Rice $180, flour $120, sugar $250, and ketchup $350 and soda $120.
Question one, how much money will the members of the 58 club need to raise to deliver 10 packages? And we added um5 and 120 and 250 and say all of that.
It's okay. Show it. Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> And you get 10,250.
Question two. You are responsible for creating a flyer to encourage people in your community to donate fund toward purchasing the care packages. Design a table that shows the number of care packages that can be made based on the donation amount.
Number of care packages 10 15 20 50 100.
Donation amount 10,250 15,37575 25,500 500 51,250 and then 102500 question three I have sell and protect tomato ketchup.
Food A is selling a bottle of 1.09 kilogram ketchup for 200 $2,250.
Food D is selling a box of 10 1.09 kilogram ketchup for 3,500 which was offering the better deal on PC tomato 1.09 kilogram ketchup. And we already said Android B has a better deal.
>> Yeah. Very good. All right.
>> Part two, concert fundraiser. The 58 Club has decided to host a concert in the community park. The contact schedule is posted on the community notice board. Park concept event time. Opening in March 4:00 to 4:10 p.m. Magic Show 4:10 p.m.
to 4:45 p.m.
Halen contest 4:45 to 5:30 p.m. Raffle 5:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Announcement 5:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Question four. How much time is scheduled for the rap announcement? And we know that it's 15 minutes and 15 minutes. We add that up together and get 30 minutes.
Question five. What section of the concert time is used for announcement on and the answer is one point.
Question. Nine individuals signed up for the talent contest. Do the talent contest schedule? How much time will each student have to perform if every student get the same amount on of time?
So, we know that the time is 4:45 to 5:30 p.m. So, subtract 4:45 from 5:30 p.m.
and that would equal to 45 minutes.
And then there are nine contestants. So 45 divide 9 into 45 and that would equal to five. So each contestant will have five minute to perform.
>> Very good, Zarya. And thanks. I know this was a lot of work to read all that.
Who want to do number seven quickly? And there's no end up the first one I see.
Thanks. I agree. All right. So Karisa it is.
>> Go ahead Karesa.
>> Okay sir.
Oh, so um sir the first thing that I did I drew the table and then I figured out I wrote the number of hands that are represented on each activity. So on drum at drama you will put 24 beside of it.
At dancing it would be 48 because there are six full and hands and 6 * 8 is 48.
and 3 * 8 is 24. Then besides singing sir, I would put 63 because I multip I multiplied four um four by eight and then I added the four.
No sir, I said 36.
>> Oh 363 63.
>> The video record 63. Go ahead. Go ahead.
>> Okay. Then sir for speech I I knew that um half a hand is four. So 4 + 4 is eight. Then I added the eight which represented which represents the full hand.
No sir, I'm not.
>> And question seven, what is the difference between the top two contestants?
So sir, what I did is look at the table and and found and observed the numbers and found the two highest numbers.
Then I subtracted 36 from 48 because difference means subtract.
And I got 12. 6 - 6 from 8 is >> sir I was going to explain it but you already wrote it so man good very good so guys we're going to move on to another paper now that's the end of it very good very good so that complete that one language art the pitina guys I need to send this to your parents so they can get the language art But I realized that yesterday.
All right. So, we're going to go. Hope we do. Stop the video or what?
