In racing car maintenance, regular inspection and timely replacement of worn components (such as U-joints showing ridges on the race) prevents catastrophic failures, while proper carburetor tuning (adjusting squirters and pump cams) ensures reliable throttle transitions; ride height adjustments can affect wheel geometry, requiring rechecking of toe and alignment settings after modifications.

Threatening Weather, Too Many Adjustments?Added:
Hi everyone, welcome back.
Today I finished up all of that stupid foam in the ceiling and I still haven't gotten the car in the shop yet.
I'm going to be picking foam out of everything for years to come.
Ah, yeah. The ignorance of forgetting a drop cloth. At least it comes off pretty easily.
But thank you guys so much for watching.
I greatly appreciate it. Please consider subscribing if you haven't yet already.
I hope I got most of that out of my face and hair. If you're new to the channel, welcome. If you know anybody who may like this sort of thing, uh, please send them my way.
Either way, this week, um, I ended last video off by doing this spray foam debacle and complete nightmare. And, uh, I'm starting it this week by ending it, I guess. I don't know. I just went and did a second coat.
Not really. I just kind of touched up the thin spots. And, uh, I'm going to brush my face off. And I am uh, I look like a flocked Christmas tree, but that's okay.
And I got to, you know, wipe down a few things. But then we got to get the car back in here. By the way, the reason I was able to put spray foam in the ceiling was because of the support of viewers like you. I'm not PBS, but you can go to gleamroscracing.com after you subscribe and go to the merch store. We have plenty of stuff up right now. We have uh stuff to trip over.
Well, not that, but we have t-shirts, we have hats, we have stickers, we have koozies, we have tumblers, we have all sorts of stuff, and they're all very affordably priced. So, go check that out. We also have race team merch that helps out the race team directly.
Everything helps out the race team directly, really, but you know what I mean. So, anyway, I got to clean up and get this place at least a little bit presentable for a race car. I also have to pick foam off my face. I have to put my trophies back. At least they didn't get ruined because I was stupid enough to forget a drop cloth. Even though I did remember I did start using one. But now I got little flexcks of stuff everywhere. I got to put all my metal I'm tripping over back up in the rafters, things of that nature. So, uh, we'll get the car back in here as soon as I clean up.
Car's back in the barn. I threw a fresh sheet over was all discolored and stuff.
I figured it'd be perfect for shop duty.
It is a little bit lighter in here with this foam. Even though the foam makes it look like an abandoned barn. Uh, looks like spiderw webs all over the place cuz I did a poor poor job. But I'm looking the car over. I got to get to the rear end and I got to start peeling that apart to make sure that the rear gears are okay and that the rear um U-jint's okay. But I look down here and I was complaining about brakes before and we got fresh wetness over here. That is fresh. Look at that. Look at that sheen on my finger. I saw the shine and I'm like, where did you come from? And I wiped underneath this fitting here and it came up and it was clearly wet. I'm like, that's bad. And I know that the brakes felt a little funny. I was wondering if it was the brakes in the back that I just put on that new axle, but it was the same brackets that I had on an old one. Shouldn't have been bad, but I don't know. I think that fitting either went bad or cracked or I don't know. We're going to have to investigate that. So, I'm going to have to write it up on the board. I got to get to the back. I got to pull the cover off of the rear diff because I want to at least inspect those gears because they're brand new. So hopefully we can get that done before I got to leave today. I get really worried about the uh whole new rear axle thing because I'm the one who builds them. So I have every right to be worried because if that thing fails, guess whose fault it is and whose night it ruins? That's right. Both are mine. So, I'm looking for some tools. I'm going to go dive back there and rip that pumpkin off. And I also noticed a little bit of a vibration when I was out there. And it I didn't have it before, which is kind of weird. I don't know. Could be a tire, could be the setup, could be anything. But I'm going to pull the U-jint out. make sure that the uh bearings in that are okay because I've had U-jint failures in the past that vibrate and for whatever reason they etch the inside race of the U-jint.
So, I'm going to take a look at that.
See if there's any little finger marks all over it. I did buy some extra oil so we can actually take care of that. Also, I goofed when I put the rear end together. I forgot to put an external fill tube on the cover, which I always do.
So, I'm probably just going to take the cover off when we inspect it. I'll just take it out completely, clean the thing up, find a nice, I don't know, just a round tube of some sort that I could weld in there, weld it in, put a cap on it, and then when I go to put it back together, we can just throw a magnet on it. I got those little tiny neodyenium magnets. I like to keep the metal shavings and flake out of the oil so that it doesn't keep circling through and continuing to wear the rear axle.
And then uh kind of slap her back together. I'm just kind of fingers crossed. Right now the fluid is kind of as expected. I expected it to be rusty because remember this thing, the entire housing and the carrier and everything was kind of rusty. So it's going to discolor it quite a bit. But if you look at it, check it out.
She looks great. I'm going to look at the Oh, did I forget to take it out of gear?
Okay, fine. I'll go do that later. But it looks good otherwise. Check it out.
I think it's uh pretty good. You know, I can see it's worn all the way across every face. I can see the ring looks worn all the way across each tooth. It's not really heavy in one spot or the other. It's actually pretty centered. I think we're good here. So, I'm going to inhale an entire can of brake parts cleaner. And uh I'm going to clean this whole thing out. I'll put that tube in the cover. I'll also stick a little magnet in the cover so that it keeps a lot of this metal particulate out of the oil. And uh I want to inspect the U-jint and we'll be out of here from under the car. All right. Got me a fill tube put in. Doesn't look half bad.
I forgot to put the magnet in, though.
No worries. It'll be all right. However, I'm glad I looked at the drive shaft because the U-jint is worn. There are little ridges on the race. Nothing's broken, but it is worn out. So, I'm going to order I knew I do have another one. It's not a huge deal. I don't have to wait for one or anything, but I'm going to order another one just to have as a backup. That thing lasted me all of last year and into this year and it finally went on me. So, you usually beat up a uh let's see, the rear end side of the drive shaft U-jint. So, I will be replacing that. So, I'm going to have to add that to the list. I'm glad we started the maintenance early this week.
The last few weeks, I haven't really done a heck of a lot, but when you feel a problem, it's good to look into it.
Luckily, I've been doing this long enough that I kind of have an idea what that problem would be. And that's exactly what it was. So, luckily we have one. We'll put one on order. I got some oil sitting out here ready to go in the car. That way I don't forget to do it.
That's too much. But, you know, I don't use all of that. I use some. We got a bunch more to do. But, today is Indy500 day and uh it is literally racing Christmas. I think I'm just going to get out of here, go bail out, go enjoy some races, and I will see you guys tomorrow.
Okay, it is the next day and I forgot we should probably be putting this car on scales to see what it says with all the changes that we made. However, I'm going to continue just kind of finishing what we started, replace the U-jint, put some oil back in the rear, just because if I don't do it now, I'll probably forget.
So, I'd really like to get it done before we do that. And after that, I will have help coming. My brother should show up at some point very soon if I uh think about it. And we will be putting this car on scales, getting some numbers, writing our notes, and then we can go from there. So, for now, finish what we started.
Here's our culprit. You can see the grooves formed in this right on the side of this. RA. I think they call them a race right on this on the U-jint. Whatever. The roller bearings are inside the caps.
And it runs on this race here. I'm just going to call it the the race. And it was starting to let go there, too. I don't understand why I'm so hard on U-jints, especially the rear U-jints. The front U-jints I never change. They're the same as when I bought the drive shaft.
But the rear U-jints I'm just notoriously hard on. And I don't understand why. We're not doing anything crazy with the arm angles or the position of the rear axle or anything like that. It's all factory length, factory axle pickups, factory everything.
I And it's I had it with my other car, too. So, I don't know. Maybe I'm just buying crappy U-jints. That could be the case. Um because I'm buying conversion U-jints from Speedway Motors cuz I don't know the conversion part number. I do have another one coming that's actually a Spicer one. I might have found the part number. I'm not sure, but it's not going to be here in time cuz I have a replacement one that I bought and it's the exact same one as what was in here.
However, I will say this did get me through the entire all of last year. I know I put it in fresh last year. It got me all the way through and then yet just this past race, that's when I felt it starting to vibrate. So, I don't know.
I'll just replace it, throw it back in.
I'll keep the other one as a spare again and if I feel it vibrating again, we'll know to do it again. But you guys wonder why I grease my U-jints all the time.
Yeah, that's why we've moved up front to the brakes. Boy, there is fluid everywhere, isn't there? Look at that. I just had my brother cuz he just went inside. Take a look as I was hitting the brake pedal. He says right here on this elbow, right at the seam is weeping pretty heavily.
So, I think I'm just going to yank that hose off, and we'll just replace it. I'm not going to play any stupid games. I'm just going to take the parts, replace the parts, not think anything else, and then I'm just going to spray the hell out of this with brake clean.
When it comes to this type of thing, if there's any question whatsoever as to the the integrity, I guess, of a part, um, just throw it away. In racing, you got to be very, very comfortable with the concept of, "Is this okay?" No. Then I'm throwing it away. Don't just save something, be like, "Well, maybe it's okay, maybe it's not." There's definitely a problem with it. It's leaking. Okay? And if you see that there's something wrong, just get rid of it. You don't want to hang on to old parts. You don't want to be a hoarder. I am a hoarder, but I hoard good parts. If I have bad parts, they go in the trash immediately. Heat. Heat.
All right, numbers looking pretty workable at this point. I think we can really do something with this. Got to make a few adjustments to the front end and uh we'll get those numbers a lot better than what they are now. And hopefully the car will continue reacting in the manner with which it did when we were at the track because that would be really nice to be fast again.
Still have a few more items on the checklist to take care of. Maintenance items especially change the oil, things of that manner. I want to touch the carburetor as well. I don't know what's going on with that thing. That thing just doesn't seem to want to transition or go off idle very easily. It just kind of dies. But when it's full throttle, pretty damn good. I just kind of need it to be a little more drivable, but I don't want to change too much. So, we'll have to deal with that later. Um, I'm just going to leave the car here for today. I think we're done. Uh, I'm just going to go inside. I got show prep to do for the podcast and other stuff. So, I'm just going to take care of that.
And, uh, hopefully I'll see you guys back out here tomorrow where we'll have the front end in the air and probably blow that apart. Also, you guys want to be irritated, buy one of those. bought that off of Amazon for 85, 90 bucks, something like that. Uh, it's already leaking. Whenever I hit the on button for it to pump fuel, it dribbles out the bottom here. I don't know where from. There's might be a little like there might be a little vent somewhere or whatever. I don't know. But it dribbles out from here, not from the hose, but from the body itself. So, that was a good amount of money wasted. So, whatever. Maybe I'll buy one on Tik Tok shop or something.
All right, next day. And I have a small update on the foam. I walked in here earlier. It was 85° today up in New England and it was sunny. It was sunny all day. It was 85°. I'm like, "Okay, there's our first test. A sunny, warm day." And honestly, uh, it was actually lovely. It didn't feel like 85°. Maybe I'm getting used to the heat or something, but it actually felt like a decent day. I went on a 2-m walk in the sun. It was great. Now, when I walked in here earlier before I started work on the car to kind of turn the air on and uh get some tools cuz I was helping uh something earlier, it actually didn't feel that bad. Like, it was 85 outside.
The thermometer, which I can't get the camera to show, said it was 78 in here.
Right now, it says it's 76.
So, the AC knocked it down like 2°.
Honest. It's really not that bad for being 85°. You know what? Do I have my temperature probe? Here it is. All right. Let's see. It is approximately uh it says the car is like 81°. All right. Well, that's kind of funny, ain't it? All right. So, uh 82 84. I don't know. The walls are different. I guess doesn't feel like 81°, but All right.
The roof says doesn't say a lot. That's in the sun.
That's 88°.
Remember last time it was 95 out. It said 120°. Let's see what's up there. 82 83 86. So, I mean, there's still a little bit of touching up to do, but guys, I think it might have helped. If it did, then that 400 bucks is uh money well spent in my mind, I guess. What kind of sucks about that is that I probably could have gotten better stuff and done a better job for the same money. I should have looked into it a little deeper, but I don't know. I just kind of got an idea in my head and decided to just kind of run with it. And I mean, it probably worked even though, you know, if I'd actually gotten like the professional kind of stuff and I put that in giant air quotes where you got like two giant tanks that look like propane tanks and a hose and done it like that, I bet you we would have had a much better result with a lot less overspray and all over the place.
Like there's flexcks of stuff everywhere. Just everywhere. I did take my trophies down because they're more important to me than anything else around here. Um, I think the door actually came out pretty good. I don't think that has a lot on it. But, you know, I just flex of crap just everywhere. It's everywhere.
Everything I touch, it's freaking everywhere cuz I was too stupid to cover it up or clean the garage out. Whatever.
It'll it'll eventually come off the more I use things. Like if I go to grab a hammer. Oh no, there's flex on it.
There's crap every whatever. But if it made any difference at all, I will be thankful. Now, I kind of wish that I had thought a little bit before starting work today about putting the air conditioning on cuz I'm going to have to open the door because I have to do a little bit of carburetor work that I really want to take care of before I start diving into the front end here.
See what we have and what I think is going on. We have a transitional fuel issue.
I don't know if I'm really saying that correctly or not, but what's happening is when I'm under full throttle, like foot hard down going down the straightaway, it honks. Like this thing takes off. All right.
But when I transition throttle, if I have to like roll out of it a hair and roll back into it, it stumbles, falls on its face. And when I'm trying to drive it around the pits, it is dead on its face. If I just crack the throttle open.
So, what I think is going on is the jets and the power valve are perfect, right?
Everything's perfect. However, I think we got a squirter and a pump cam issue.
And I think we need to be a little more aggressive on both of those because what a squirter does is when you're just touching the throttle, like just getting into the throttle, it shoots streams of fuel into the venturies and adds fuel to your mixture so that it doesn't have to draw through the carburetor. It's adding the fuel so that the carburetor doesn't fall on its face and doesn't have to work itself. Like the way a carburetor works is it pulls vacuum and in that vacuum, it's basically a regulated leak is literally what a carburetor is. It's going to draw vacuum and that amount of vacuum it pulls, it pulls a specific amount of fuel that you've tuned into the engine. But in order for it to do that, you need it to have fuel in order to draw fuel. And the squirters give it that fuel for it to draw. So I'm into my box here. I'm going to increase the squirter level here. Oh, there goes the There goes my Oh, I found it. All right.
Whatever. I'll get my gasket out of it.
I'm going to try putting a bigger pump cam in it. And they've got different types of pump cams, which uh this side is not the correct side. Ah, yes, this side is. I don't know why I put all these in the distributor side, but I got a bunch of these pump cams and they regulate the arm on your carburetor that actuates the accelerator pump. And they've got all sorts of different ramps and they've got all sorts of different holes so that you can adjust those ramps. And um I'll have to go peek through there and see what I can do to make an aggressive decision and keep it so that it will run full throttle through it. So, I'm going to go dig through that and get this thing kind of tuned up. Then we'll air out the shop, keep the AC on, and get back going on the front end.
Heat. Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Well, that was a good amount of work.
Carburetor came out pretty well. I'm pretty pleased. We actually changed the squirters and the pump cam, but the best results I got was from playing with the idle mixture and the idle. And I just kind of revved it and, you know, played with it and revved it and played with it. Kind of got it by ear. And uh I think it's passable now. I don't think it's going to be 100% perfect, but it's going to be way better than it was because now when I touch the throttle as if I'm driving through the pits, it doesn't die. It kind of just runs.
That's about it. It doesn't run perfect.
It's not like a street cam or nothing, but whatever. Anyway, got the adjustments done up front. So, everything looks a little bit better now that we can make it a little bit more of an adjustment. We kind of ran out of room for adjustment when we were at the track. So, now I kind of, you know, picked it up a little bit so that we can have a little more adjustment. So, that's going to help a lot. Everything seems to be moving pretty well. Uh, I found a couple things that I wanted to just clean up, tidy up, and honestly, this thing is at this point, and it's only Tuesday, uh, this thing's ready for scales. Oh, forgot to mention, uh, I also change the oil. Now, when you buy a crate engine from GM, they usually say change it once a month, and I take that to be, since you race weekly, once a week, four weeks in a month, four times.
Good enough. The oil is not like terrible. It looks a little carbony.
There's no milkiness in it. It looks pretty decent, but you want to be safe.
So, we change it once every four races.
Good to go. I have a little sticker on the fender. I take hash marks whenever it hits four. Change the oil. We're good to go. I've uh jeez, we've done a lot of work so far. And let's see, what did we do? We did the rear end. We inspected that. We changed that U-jint and greased the U-jints in the drive shaft. I tried to take care of whatever I thought was the leak in the rear end. I think it was the vent. Vent was kind of goopy. It was kind of gross. So, I put some RTV around the base and I hosed it out with brake clean. Make sure it was okay. I just It's just a stock vent. Uh I've had good luck with them. This one for some reason was kind of being iffy. So, I made sure it would breathe properly. Now, it hopefully won't load up. Uh, moving forward, we adjusted the front, fixed that brake line, adjusted the carburetor so that hopefully it works. Uh, what else did we do? I think that's it, right? Oh, we did the oil change what I just mentioned. Yeah, we already did that. So, I think we're in really good shape. I'm going to keep an eye out for any other anomalies along the way, which I always do no matter what. Uh, probably clean it up a little bit, but tomorrow we're going to put it on scales. And uh I think I'll probably take a look at the geometry of the caster camber toe as well just to be safe. Did make a little wheel contact with the right front.
Nothing major. So just check toe, be safe, you know, and if your ride height changes like it is in the front of this car, uh after the adjustment that we made, you want to check it anyway because ride height will change your arm angles and it'll change your geometry just a hair. And if you want to be a real stickler about it, you can change it and fix it on the fly and you'll be right back to the numbers that you wanted when you ran it last. So hopefully it won't take too much on the scales tomorrow. I really wouldn't mind having a nice easy day on scales because I hate adjusting the height in these cars because they don't have jacking bolts. They have adjuster cups and stock shocks, which I, you know, for competition purposes I like. For adjustment purposes, I hate. Beggars can't be choosers, though. So, I'll be back tomorrow. Hopefully, fingers crossed, scales go good for us. All right, next day we are going to focus on scaling because everything else seems to be pretty done. I mean, I'll throw a flashlight under the car. Make sure no axle seals or anything are leaking. I didn't notice any when I was under there before, but it wouldn't hurt to look again. Uh, I'm going to check the front wheel bearing seals because we had an issue with those popping out before. And probably I'm just going to roll it on scales. check tire pressures, roll it on. We're looking for a specific number that worked last year. Uh except apparently we didn't know we had rear end issues that were throwing the alignment off or whatever happened. But that rear axle that we took out of the car, I ran last year with this setup and it was a lot different. Now this year it's way worse and we got rid of it and now the car is right back to feeling exactly how it was last year except a little bit better. So, we're just going to go back to that specific number and start there. And then I'm going to do probably a quick look at caster camber tow be done. We got two days until we go racing again. I would love to have a little extra time to put together a spare rear because I've got a few housings. I don't have the brake caliper brackets working properly, which kind of sucks, but if I need it, I can always rip them off the old one. It's two bolts. It's not a huge deal. So, with that in mind, I'd love to have an extra day to kind of take apart a rear and slap together a spare housing. That way, at least we'll have one just in case.
Heat.
Heat.
Well, I didn't film a whole bunch of that because I was not happy with the original ride heights. They were way off. I'm not kidding you. And it was like, uh, maybe they'll be all right.
Maybe I'll try them this week, which was the attitude I had last year. And I said, "You know what? No, I'm like a day ahead. We'll be okay.
Take the extra time and do it." And so I went and I spent like 2 hours resetting the ride heights. And you know what? I'm glad I did because I'm way happier. It looks better. The angles are better.
Everything that I did ju it's just better.
Front geometry really wasn't far off either. I think I stuck a shim in the uh right front and the left front just to kind of get a little bit better number from what I had. Good to go. So, right now where we sit basically we'll check tow and stick it in the trailer tomorrow. So, at least we're pretty much ready. I mean, I have gone through the car as much as I possibly can. Again, I'd really like to load up early tomorrow so that I can have a little bit of extra time to start slapping that spare rear end together.
Maybe we can get it done and bring it with us. I don't know. I think the weather's going to look a little bit better as well. It's going to be a little cooler, not the, you know, 85 to 90° days that we had earlier this week.
So, hopefully it'll be a really uh decent day. I know it's possibly threatening rain. We'll see what happens. It's New England. Anything can happen at any time. Anyway, I'll see you guys tomorrow. It's the next day. Hey, I'm fresh off some treadmill work and some other exercise, which I've been really trying to get back into. I'm tired of feeling like crap and I want to be a little bit better in the car as well. I mean, anytime you can be healthier is a good thing. So, I'm back on that wagon. Back out here pretty early and uh it's only like 2:00. It's not too bad. All we really have to do is roll this thing forward on these pads and use the scale pads as a leveling device and just kind of check toe. Once we do that, I'll jack it up, put it on the ground, load the trailer up, clear the garage out, and I'm going to start moving in some rear axles. Hopefully, again, we're going to be making some spare rears, or at least, well, one spare rear cuz that's all I can really do.
But, we already used our spare and it's currently in the car. So, it would be really nice to have another one. So, we're going to try to work on that. And, uh, hopefully it doesn't take too long.
And it's actually a nice day, so I'm not too worried about that. Simple.
Hopefully we can get this done quick.
She's in the box for another week. I did manage to find that we were a hair towed in. We did get a little contact about lap two to the right front last week and it was a little bit in. So, that'll account for maybe the slightest little shred of tight that we had last week.
But, we got her adjusted. She's in the box. I don't really know if I'm going to be out here for too too much longer cuz uh I got some family stuff to take care of. My kid asked me to take him to a card shop and I'm like, I got plenty of time and we got an hour and a half until they close so I might as well do that. So, I'm going to go do some family stuff. I don't know if I'll be back out here to really finish building that spare rear or not. If I do, I'll probably just tinker with it.
Maybe I'll throw a quick time lapse up.
We'll see. Depends. Family's kind of important, though, so I need to go take care of that. And uh I'll see you guys at the track. Back again in Stafford proper.
H It's not too bad. It's a little cloudy. It's uh decently warm. It's not too too bad. I mean, we're not in the depths of summer or nothing, but hopefully the rain holds off. It should.
But, you know, it's New England. You never know.
>> What are we up to again? Six. Race number six. I don't know. I'm just going to navigate the bumps here.
Okay. Practice report. Honestly, even though we didn't put down a decent time, I think the track was a little bit damp because it's been kind of randomly on and off sprinkling and putting water down. And it's actually raining a little bit right now. It's not a hell of a lot, but I've put my car cover on my car about three times.
If I had to say anything, it's probably going to be one of those days unless they cancel it. But, um, a lot of rain showing up that's not on the radar.
That's kind of our deal right now. I also think I got a leak a leaky brake fitting.
We changed a hose um last week because we felt that it was weeping out of one of the seams in it, but I put a new line on brand new out of the package and it's weeping again. And it's not the brake line and it ain't the hose either. I think it's the little fitting that I put the two together with. And uh I think it might be cracked. I don't think it's enough to ruin our night, but I do believe that it I'm going to have to pump the brakes.
So, it's just going to have to be old school and I have to pump the brakes like I used to. And we'll be all right.
It's just kind of it has to be in the back of my mind before I go out there.
And so, I don't know what the weather's going to do, but uh whatever happens next, I'll have uh GoPros in the car for it.

>> It's my birthday card.
>> It's your birthday.
>> Yeah, it is my birthday. It would have been real nice to actually have not sucked yesterday, but you know, at least we finished sixth and we could at I don't know. I don't know if you could say we salvaged a good day. We didn't totally suck.
>> No, we didn't. But we should have been a lot better. But it's been really I don't know. I don't know if it's disappointing or just kind of uh trying cuz I I don't know how long the car was bad because it seems like every time I feel like I learned something about setup or do something I remember worked with setup, now all of a sudden it doesn't work again. And I'm I'm trying to wonder, am I just using old parts that just never worked and I had to work around that or what is it? Or do I just not know anything? So, we're kind of in process of trying to figure both out. And I think we're finally starting to understand a few things, but we have other little stupid issues that we just keep running into. So >> that no practice because it rains every time this time of year.
>> Yeah, >> you can always when you're trying to rebuild your setup, you know, you would like a couple more rounds of practice, but mother nature will not let you. So what are you going to do?
>> Absolutely. And I missed second round practice because we had an issue where I thought the brakes I think I I thought I had a fitting going bad on the left front, but apparently it's power steering because the reservoir is right above it.
>> Would you like me to demonstrate?
>> Yes.
>> Shouldn't go this easy.
>> No. What sucks is that's a brand new cap, too.
>> Yeah.
>> And it apparently is leaking out of the now brand new cap. So, >> and the O-ring looks, you know, everything looks new. It's brand new.
>> There's no damage to the thing. It may just be old and worn out or >> Yeah, I might just cancel that order on Amazon and buy a real one.
>> You know what I'll do? Maybe I'll cancel because I bought one on Amazon.
Apparently, it's not going to be here for another week. So, it's not going to help me at all for the next race. I'll probably just cancel that order and then buy one that's got like a What do you think? like a screw type cap.
>> Yeah.
>> You know what I mean? Something that you don't have.
>> Yeah. That's a radiator cap style that needs pressure. This is one of those ridiculous spring loaded ones.
>> Yeah. One that self fence and >> w the cap.
>> Yeah. Cuz my fuel cell, a lot of these fuel cells are the same way, but this is since it's a bladder type fuel cell.
It's got a bunch of threads and an O-ring.
But the cheaper cell has like the bail and you kind of click it on like a quarter turn. And that's that's kind of what I want versus what I kind of have.
So I'd really rather have that than that. Either way, with what we have, we should be competitive. And we're kind of not at the place we need to be. And we should have been there a while ago. So, we're still on the back foot, which sucks, but I think there's still hope for moving forward.
It's just that we have to kind of get rid of some ideas that we've had for a long time and maybe kind of evolve on them. So, we're going to try working on that next. We still have to go through a bunch of stuff in the car, but that's clearly going to wait till next week.
There's always something to do. And I have to now go and undo a whole bunch of stuff that I just did. So, that's going to be even more fun. Anyway, thank you guys so much for watching and hanging in there with me. I greatly appreciate it.
Please, if you have not yet, consider subscribing because it does help me a ton with the algorithm, with ad revenue, with all sorts of fun stuff with a multi-billion dollar corporation, Google, using my likeness and my intellectual property to sell you ads.
So, if I can get a cut out of that, that would be great. Another way to help the channel is to go to gleenbrosracing.com.
Get your team merch. Get your channel merch. Get stickers if you don't want to buy a t-shirt. Get a koozie if you don't want to buy a sticker. Uh we have tumblers, we have hats, we have all sorts of other stuff. I've been so busy.
I haven't been able to update stuff, which I really wanted to do cuz I got a lot of ideas and a lot of designs to go through, but I just haven't had time.
So, we're still working on that. But go over there and check that out. And um we'll try to do better next week, I suppose. We still have a lot to learn and we're going to try. So, see you guys then. Thank you all for watching. I greatly appreciate it.
