This psychological thriller reveals how domestic abuse creates a cycle of trauma where victims become trapped in fear, with the abuser (Ghanshyam) being Prerna's own father who killed seven of her eight children, demonstrating how prolonged abuse can lead victims to accept suffering as their fate while others remain unaware of the horror.

It Was Her Own Father... The Monster Living Inside Her Home | Hollywood MovieAdded:
The story begins with a pregnant woman named Purna. One day, government workers arrive at her house for a routine census survey.
>> [music] >> At first, everything seems completely normal, but then they ask a simple question, "How many children do you have?" And [music] in an eerily calm voice, Purna replies, "My babies cry for a little while after they're born, and then they die." The entire room falls silent. [music] No one knows how to react, but that was only the beginning of the nightmare because the horrifying truth hidden inside that house was far darker than anyone could imagine. Purna had never been married, and yet she kept getting pregnant again and again. The man responsible wasn't a stranger. It wasn't a criminal from outside. It was her own father. For years, this monster controlled her life through fear, abuse, and [music] silence, while the people around her pretended nothing was wrong.
And whenever a child was born, he made sure no evidence of his crimes was ever left behind. What exactly was happening inside that house, and how did Purna's life turn into such a horrifying nightmare? To understand the terrifying truth, we need to go back it all began.
The movie opens with a man who has arrived in a remote village for government work. He's busy painting identification numbers onto electric poles for a census survey. After working for a while, he gets thirsty, [music] so he walks toward an old isolated house nearby and knocks on the door. But the moment [music] he steps closer, he suddenly hears the sound of a woman crying inside along with the cries of a small child. There was something deeply disturbing [music] about those voices, so painful that even the man's expression begins to change. A few seconds later, someone from inside slowly comes to open the door, but the person can barely even walk properly.
[music] Just looking at him makes it feel like he's been through something horrifying. And from that moment on, the movie slips into a dark and mysterious [music] tone. Right after this, the story suddenly shifts, and now we're introduced to a young woman named Anuja.
Anuja lives in the city and works [music] as a teacher at a government school. She wants to build something for herself and become independent, but her family sees life very differently. Her father wants her to quit her job and return to the village [music] because her marriage has already been arranged.
The next day we see Anuja at school teaching her students. That's when a man tries to start a conversation with her, but Anuja is naturally very quiet and introverted. She doesn't easily open up to people, so she barely responds to him. Just then, another girl named Neha walks in. She immediately notices that Anuja feels uncomfortable, so Neha quickly makes up an [music] excuse and sends the man away from there. At the school, there's a head officer who assigns Anuja the task of conducting a village census survey. For safety reasons, he says he'll send a male partner along with her, but Anuja immediately feels uncomfortable with the idea. She clearly says that she doesn't feel comfortable going with that man.
That's when Neha, who's sitting nearby, quickly steps in and says, "I'll go with her instead." So now, the two of them begin traveling from house to house across the village collecting [music] people's information. During the survey, they notice an isolated house standing near the edge of the village. Just looking at it makes both of them feel uneasy, but because of their job, they decide to go there as well. The two girls knock on the door. A few seconds later, the door slowly [music] creaks open. Standing there was a woman with an unnaturally blank expression on her face. Anuja politely says, "We're here for the census survey. Would you mind opening the door?" But the woman doesn't answer. She simply gives a faint smile, [music] and there was something deeply disturbing about that smile, like she was hiding unbearable pain behind it.
Suddenly, heavy rain starts pouring outside. Trying to avoid the rain, Neha [music] pushes the door open and walks inside without thinking much. Left with no choice, Anuja follows her in. The atmosphere inside the house feels suffocating and disturbing. That's when both girls notice that the woman is pregnant. [music] They begin asking her basic questions for the survey. The woman introduces herself as Prerna. She tells them that only Amma herself and a man named Bola live in the house. Bola was supposedly the worker who stayed [music] there. At first, Anuja assumes Bola might be Prerna's husband, so she casually asks, >> [music] >> "Is this your first child?" But the answer Prerna gives sends chills down both their spines. In an eerily calm voice, she says, "The babies are [music] born. They cry for a little while, and then they die." The moment she says that, the atmosphere inside the room becomes even more terrifying. Anuja and Neha nervously glance at each [music] other. That's when Anuja notices something horrifying. There are deep bruises and pressure marks around Purna's neck. Now Anuja [music] becomes certain that something very wrong is happening inside this house. And just then, an old woman enters the room. Her name was Lila. Lila [music] speaks to the two girls in an extremely rude and hostile tone. The anger on her face is impossible to miss. Almost like she absolutely [music] hates the fact that they came there. Slowly, the atmosphere inside the house becomes so strange and unsettling that Anuja and Neha decide it's better to leave immediately. The two [music] girls quickly step outside and rush toward their scooter. But just then, a man suddenly appears nearby.
There was something [music] disturbing in his eyes, a mix of greed and danger.
He keeps staring at both of them in a way that instantly makes [music] them uncomfortable. This man was Bhola. The way he looked at them sends chills down their spines. And without wasting another second, [music] they leave the place. But before leaving, Anuja secretly takes a picture of the house on her phone. Because deep down, she still can't shake [music] the feeling that something terrible is happening inside that house. After this, the two return to school. There, we're introduced [music] to Neha's brother, Naru. Naru has an extremely aggressive and controlling personality. He constantly [music] keeps an eye on his sister, as if he believes he has the right to control every part of her life. The moment Neha walks toward him, he starts yelling at her right in front of everyone. [music] There's so much anger in his voice that even the people around them go silent. Watching this, [music] Anuja realizes that Neha is also living under fear and pressure in her own life.
A few more days [music] pass, but Anuja still can't stop thinking about Purna and that mysterious house. The marks on Purna's neck, her unsettling words, they keep replaying in Anuja's mind again and again. Finally, one day, she asks Neha to go back to that house with her. Anuja is convinced that Purna is [music] in serious danger, but Neha immediately refuses. That house terrified her the first time already, and she has no desire to return there. Still, Anuja somehow manages to convince her, and once again, both girls head toward that isolated house. After some time, they arrive there. This time, Bola seems strangely happy to see them, but the smile on his face doesn't feel normal at all. He quickly invites [music] them inside the house. The moment they enter, Anuja immediately asks about Prerna, but Bola tells them that she isn't feeling well. When Anuja tries asking again, Lila suddenly interrupts the conversation. She gives Bola a strange look, [music] and without saying a word, he quietly walks away. Now, the atmosphere inside the house feels even more mysterious and disturbing. [music] Just then, another man enters the room.
His name was Ghanshyam, but the strangest thing about him was that he never spoke a single word. [music] Lila explains that Ghanshyam has been observing a vow of silence for the last 5 years. [music] 3 years had already passed, and two more were still remaining. Hearing this leaves both Anuja and Neha shocked, because now every single person in that house, every conversation, and every strange [music] behavior was starting to feel more terrifying than ever before. When Anuja asks about Prerna's baby, Lila replies in an unusually cold voice [music] that the child died a week ago. But the most disturbing part was there was no sadness in her voice, no grief, [music] no emotion at all. Hearing this makes both Anuja and Neha deeply uncomfortable. Now, it's not just the house that feels wrong. Every [music] single person living there feels unsettling, too. That's why the two girls decide to leave immediately. But the moment [music] they step outside, heavy rain suddenly starts pouring down.
Seeing the weather, Lila and Bola tell them to stay until the rain stops. With no real choice left, the girls reluctantly [music] agree. A little later, everyone in the house sits together for dinner. Just as Neha is about to start eating, >> [music] >> Ghanshyam suddenly stops her. The way he does it is so sudden that it genuinely scares her. That's when Lila asks Bola, [music] "Did you feed Ganga yet?" Ganga was their cow, and apparently the rule in that house was that the cow had to be fed first. Only after that could the family [music] eat. After this, everyone begins eating. But while sitting there, Anuja and Neha keep staring at Prerna.
[music] The way she eats feels deeply unsettling. Every movement she makes gives the impression that she's completely broken from the inside.
>> [music] >> Slowly, night falls, but the rain shows no signs of stopping. Now, with no way to [music] leave, the two girls go sit inside one of the rooms, and with every passing minute, their fear keeps growing stronger. The house stood in such an isolated area that leaving in the middle of the night during heavy rain was almost impossible. During this time, Bola comes into their room to bring them water. That's when Neha calls her brother, Naru, [music] but she lies to him, telling him that she's staying over at Anuja's house for the night. And the most dangerous part was Bola overhears the entire conversation. He immediately goes to Ghanshyam afterward and tells him that the girls lied before coming there, which means nobody actually knows they're [music] inside this house tonight. Now, there's something terrifying visible in Bola's eyes. Then, he asks Ghanshyam if he can go to the girls' room, but Ghanshyam immediately forbids him from doing anything. Hearing [music] this, Bola quietly walks away.
But, the silence on his face makes one thing very clear. [music] Something deeply wrong is going on inside his mind. Now, Leela slowly walks toward Ghanshyam and tells him to stop controlling Bola all the time. She says, [music] "If you keep stopping him from everything, one day he'll leave this place. And once he goes outside, he'll tell everyone what happens in this house." The moment she says this, it becomes obvious that this family is hiding something extremely dark and dangerous. [music] Meanwhile, it's already late at night.
The rain is still pouring heavily outside, but Anuja can't sleep. Her mind keeps replaying all the strange things she has seen and heard. Quietly, she walks toward the window and looks outside. That's when she notices a small, isolated shed near the house. And in the very next second, the color drains from her face. [music] She sees Ghanshyam dragging a man into that room.
For a moment, it looks to Anuja like he's dragging a dead body. The sight terrifies her instantly. She quickly wakes Neha up and tells her in a trembling voice that she just saw a dead body outside. Hearing [music] this makes Neha panic, too. Now, both girls realize they may have walked straight into something horrifying. They immediately decide to escape from the house, but when they try opening the doors, they discover that every exit has been [music] locked from the outside. Now, their fear grows even stronger. After struggling for some time, they [music] somehow manage to steal a key and quietly unlock the main door. Finally, they slip outside, but then Neha suddenly asks Anuja, [music] "Did you actually see a dead body?" Now, even Anuja starts doubting herself a little because in the darkness and heavy rain, she never got a clear look at what she saw. So, the two girls make another dangerous decision. [music] They decide to check the shed themselves. Terrified, they slowly begin walking toward it. The moment they open the door, their hearts start pounding [music] violently. And when they see the man inside, both of them are left completely shocked. It was the same government worker we saw at the beginning of the movie painting numbers on electric poles, but [music] now, his condition looks horrifying. The sight scares both girls so badly that they panic and run in different directions. After some time, they manage to find [music] each other again. Now, the darkness of the night feels even more terrifying.
Strange sounds echo through the area like something lurking in the jungle nearby. [music] They can even hear distant animal noises in the darkness.
In the middle of the panic, Anuja [music] suddenly remembers that she left her phone back in the room. Now, with no other choice, both girls return to the house to get it. [music] After searching desperately, they finally find the phone, but their bad luck still isn't over. The battery is completely dead, and they don't even [music] have a charger, which means now, they are completely trapped inside that terrifying house surrounded by its mysterious residents. [music] Now, Anuja and Neha convince themselves that maybe the people in the house still don't know they went outside during the night, or that they saw the man in the shed. So, they decide that staying calm for now is the safest option, [music] and that they'll leave the moment morning comes. The two girls quietly lock the room again and sit inside, but that night becomes unbearable for them.
Every minute [music] feels painfully slow. The fear, the tension, and the strange noises coming from outside keep haunting them the entire night. Finally, [music] morning arrives and the moment they get a chance, both girls quickly try to leave the house. That's when Bola attempts to stop [music] them, but this time they don't even pause and rush straight out. As soon as they leave, Lila tells Ghanshyam that the girls went outside during the night. The moment he hears this, his expression completely changes. Now he understands that the girls may have seen something they were never supposed [music] to see. Without wasting another second, he heads out to find them. Meanwhile, Anuja and Neha are desperately trying to escape on their scooter. But once again, luck isn't on their side. After barely getting a short distance away, their scooter gets stuck in a deep muddy ditch. Both girls struggle desperately to pull it out, but by then, it's already too late. Because in the very next moment, Bola and Ghanshyam arrive [music] there. Now the girls are completely trapped. From this point on, the movie becomes even darker [music] and more disturbing. We see Anuja and Neha locked inside a basement-like room. The room is completely [music] sealed, darkness everywhere, barely any air, and an overwhelming sense of fear. [music] Neha starts banging on the door screaming for help. Meanwhile outside, Bola looks at Ghanshyam and says, "Now that we've [music] caught them, can we finally go inside?" The dangerous intention hidden behind his words is impossible to miss.
But before [music] anything happens, Lila stops him. She coldly says, "Let them suffer a little more first. Let [music] them stay scared." At this point, it becomes clear that these people aren't just dangerous, they're mentally disturbed. Meanwhile, Neha keeps screaming non-stop. That's when Bola loses his temper [music] and throws boiling hot water on her. The second the water hits her skin, Neha screams in unbearable pain. Seeing her [music] condition terrifies Anuja even more. Now both girls slowly begin breaking down emotionally. [music] In the middle of the fear and pain, Neha angrily starts blaming Anuja herself. She says that if Anuja hadn't insisted on coming back to that [music] house, they would never have ended up trapped in this nightmare.
But the truth was, Anuja herself [music] never imagined that one small decision would drag them into a nightmare like this. Meanwhile, back in the city, Anuja's fiance arrives at her apartment looking for her, but Anuja isn't there.
Worried, he [music] asks the landlord where she went, but even they have no idea what happened to her. Just then, Neha's brother Nehru also arrives there, and [music] the moment he walks in, he angrily says to Anuja's fiance, "Your Anuja is the one ruining my sister.
There's something seriously [music] wrong with that girl." Hearing this instantly angers Anuja's fiance. A heated argument breaks out between the two men. Things escalate so badly that the landlord has to step in and separate them. Meanwhile, trapped inside that horrifying basement, Anuja keeps thinking about everything that has happened, and slowly certain pieces finally start connecting in her mind.
She realizes that maybe Purna was once locked inside this same room, too, and maybe she was never Ghanshyam's wife at all. What if Purna was just another girl like them, someone who had been kidnapped and imprisoned there against her will? That thought terrifies Anuja even more. She starts [music] banging on the door desperately. That's when Ghanshyam and Bhola arrive downstairs.
Now, both Anuja and Neha try fighting back together, but the two men are far stronger than them. Ghanshyam and Bhola brutally attack both [music] girls.
Their screams echo throughout the basement. After some time, the men leave them there half-conscious and badly injured. And when Ghanshyam walks back upstairs, [music] the movie reveals another horrifying truth. We discover that the man abusing Purna wasn't anyone else. It was Ghanshyam himself, which means the man everyone believed to be quiet and religious was actually the biggest monster in the house. Later that [music] night, Bhola comes back down to the basement. This time, he brings food for the girls, but Neha, overwhelmed by fear and anger, refuses to eat. That's when Bhola starts taking advantage of the situation. Now, his true intentions become completely obvious. Seeing this, Anuja immediately kicks him away from Neha, but that only makes Bhola even angrier. Enraged, he grabs Anuja by the throat and starts choking her. Anuja struggles in pain, while Neha breaks down crying in fear. After threatening them once again, Bhola finally leaves the basement, [music] but now both girls understand one terrifying truth. If they don't find a way out soon, they may never escape this nightmare alive. By now, the situation had become terrifyingly [music] clear for Anuja and Neha. If they didn't escape tonight, they might never make it out alive. Somehow, Anuja finally manages to loosen the [music] ropes tied around her hands. Carefully, she starts looking around the basement for anything that could help them escape. That's when both girls notice a large hole in one corner of the room. Now, [music] they desperately begin trying to crawl out through it. Meanwhile, on the other side, Neha's brother Naru has already reached the [music] house. By now, he has started suspecting that something is wrong. He directly confronts [music] Bola and Ghanshyam, questioning them aggressively, but both men lie without hesitation, claiming they've never seen the girls. [music] At the same time, Anuja and Neha somehow manage to crawl outside. The moment Neha sees her brother standing there, hope instantly [music] returns to her eyes. She starts screaming his name for help, but in the very next moment, [music] everything changes. Suddenly, Ghanshyam grabs a large stone lying nearby and smashes it into Naru's head with full force. With just one brutal hit, Naru collapses to the ground. [music] Blood starts pouring from his head, and within seconds, he dies. Watching this horrifying scene completely shatters Neha, but before she can even react, Bola and Ghanshyam capture her [music] once again.
Meanwhile, Anuja runs for her life and hides inside the same isolated shed outside the house. There, she [music] sees the man we first saw earlier in the movie painting numbers on electric poles. His condition is horrifying. In a trembling voice, he tells Anuja, "I've been trapped here for a long time. That old man kills every baby that's born here. Please, get me out of this place."
Hearing this [music] sends chills down Anuja's spine, but just then, Prerna reveals to Ghanshyam that Anuja is hiding inside that room. Now, Ghanshyam storms toward the shed in rage, but the imprisoned man steps in front of him, trying to stop him long enough for Anuja to escape. For a few seconds, it almost feels like Anuja might actually get away, but Ghanshyam shows absolutely no mercy. [music] He brutally kills the man as well. Now, Anuja runs again, but her leg is badly injured. The pain makes it impossible for her to run very far. And in that moment, she realizes something horrifying. There's no way out. With no other choice left, she slowly returns toward the same house again. Meanwhile, Bola once again asks Ghanshyam, "Now, can we finally go to those girls?" But this time, Ghanshyam doesn't stop him.
Quietly, he nods yes. And the moment [music] he does, the atmosphere becomes even darker and more terrifying because now the true monstrosity of these men was finally about to be revealed. Now, the story reaches its most disturbing and heartbreaking point. Bola takes a bath, gets ready, [music] and then slowly walks toward Neha. At this point, there's no humanity left in his eyes anymore. The moment Neha sees him, she panics. She tries everything to protect herself, screaming, [music] fighting, struggling desperately, but against Bola's strength, she stands no chance. Hearing Neha's painful screams echo through the house, Anuja also starts screaming and banging on the door. But then, Ghanshyam grabs her and drags her into the next room. And when Anuja [music] sees Neha's condition, tears instantly fill her eyes. That moment completely [music] breaks her from the inside. Now, she realizes one horrifying truth. If she doesn't escape this place soon, she could be next. So, as night falls, Anuja finally decides to run away. Quietly, she [music] jumps out through a window, but this time, she doesn't just want to escape. Along with fear, something else has now started growing inside her, anger. She wants [music] revenge against these monsters.
Driven by rage, she sets their cow, Ganga, on fire. Within moments, the flames [music] begin spreading everywhere. Ghanshyam and Bola come running toward the fire, trying desperately to put it out. But by then, it's already too [music] late.
Everything is destroyed. Seeing this sends Ghanshyam into uncontrollable rage, and in anger, he starts taking it all out on Bola. He brutally beats [music] him. But this time, Bola snaps, too. In rage, he grabs a knife and goes out searching for Anuja. [music] Meanwhile, Prerna quietly comes near Neha. Broken with pain and anger, Neha looks at her and says, "If you already knew everything, why didn't you warn us?
Even one small sign would have been enough. We would never have come here."
Hearing [music] this, Prerna nervously whispers, "Please stay quiet, or Papa will hit us." The moment Neha hears that word, she freezes. [music] Because until now, she had no idea who Prerna meant by Papa. And right here, the movie reveals another horrifying truth. Prerna explains [music] that Papa beats her badly, yells at her, and if she ever disobeys him, he punishes her with a stick. But if she obeys everything he says, [music] he gives her food and doesn't hurt her. Listening to her words makes one thing painfully clear. Prerna [music] has spent her entire life trapped in fear and abuse. And the most horrifying part is, she has now accepted that suffering [music] as her fate. In a trembling voice, Prerna reveals another horrifying truth to Neha. She says that one day her Papa tried to force her mother to obey him, too. But her mother refused, and then he killed her. Hearing this completely shatters Neha, because now the terrifying truth finally becomes clear. Ghanshyam was never Prerna's husband. He was her own father, a monster [music] who had been abusing his own daughter for years. And whenever Prerna gave birth to a child, he would kill the [music] baby. The most horrifying part was, this had been happening to Prerna since childhood. She had suffered so much pain for so many years that now this nightmare had started feeling normal to her. Crying desperately, Neha begs her to open the door and let her escape. But Prerna keeps repeating the same terrified words again and again. "Papa will beat me."
And after saying that, she shuts the door and walks away. But maybe for the first time in her life, a battle had started inside her. Fear against humanity. Sometime later, Prerna quietly [music] returns. This time, without saying a word, she unlocks the door and runs away herself. Neha immediately escapes outside. [music] Meanwhile, in the forest, Bola is still searching for Anuja. But this time, Anuja is no longer just scared. [music] Now she's filled with rage and revenge. She waits silently for the perfect moment. And the second Bola comes close to her, Anuja suddenly attacks him with a wooden [music] stick. Bola barely gets a chance to react, and in the very next moment, Anuja grabs his own knife and kills him with it. Bola lets out a horrifying scream of [music] pain. His scream echoes through the entire area, and even Ghanshyam hears it. Now Ghanshyam realizes that things are slipping out of his control. He immediately locks the entire [music] house from inside, making sure no one can escape. Meanwhile, Anuja and Neha finally reunite. Breathing heavily, Neha quickly tells Anuja the horrifying truth. [music] She explains that Ghanshyam isn't Prerna's husband, he's her father, and for years, he has been abusing his own daughter. Hearing this makes Anuja explode with rage. Now she doesn't just want to escape [music] anymore, she wants to end that monster.
That's why both girls decide to return to the house once again, but by [music] now, the entire house has been locked from the inside. So with no other option left, they decide to enter again through the same underground tunnel. This was the same hidden tunnel, the one Anuja had used earlier to escape the house.
Now, Anuja and Neha crawl back inside using that same [music] path, but Ghanshyam quickly realizes that the girls have returned. Enraged, he [music] starts searching the entire house for them, and eventually, his search leads him all the way to the rooftop. But this time, Anuja is no longer the terrified girl she once was.
>> [music] >> The moment Ghanshyam gets close to her, she suddenly attacks him. A brutal fight breaks out between them. Years [music] of pain, fear, and helpless rage now explode through every hit Anuja throws at him. Meanwhile, [music] on the other side, Neha is trying to climb upstairs, but suddenly, Lila attacks her from behind and stabs her in the leg with a knife. Neha screams [music] in pain, but this time she refuses to give up too.
While Anuja fights Ghanshyam with everything she has, Neha also starts fighting back against Lila, and [music] finally, finding the right moment, Neha stabs Lila with the knife. Lila collapses and dies right there.
Meanwhile, Anuja keeps attacking Ghanshyam relentlessly, until finally, she pushes him off the rooftop.
Ghanshyam [music] crashes violently to the ground below. But even after falling from that height, he's still alive, writhing in pain for the first time in the entire movie. He finally speaks, and in a trembling voice, he says only one word, "Amma." He was calling out to Lila, but Lila was already dead. Now, Anuja slowly walks downstairs. [music] There's no fear left in her eyes anymore, only rage. And then, she picks up the knife and slits Ghanshyam's throat. With that, [music] the monster finally dies. Upstairs, Purna silently watches everything happen. Maybe for the very first time in her life, the man who turned her entire existence into hell was finally gone. After everything ends, Anuja and Neha collapse to the floor in exhaustion. Their breathing is heavy, but for the first time in hours, they truly feel like they survived. Then the movie reveals several shocking truths.
[music] We learn that Ghanshyam, Lila, and Bola had been living in that house for nearly 20 years. Purna had given birth to eight children in total, but Ghanshyam himself [music] murdered seven of those babies, while one child was born dead. And that wasn't all.
Ghanshyam and Bola together had murdered around 13 people over the years. While Bola had assaulted multiple women before, [music] their very first victim was Purna's own mother. And the most shocking truth of all was Anuja and Neha [music] became the first girls ever to escape that horrifying house alive.
