More clouds today, but rain holds off until Thursday nightAdded:
All righty, folks. Looking at Beaver Lake right now this morning, things are looking cloudy skies for us out there across the area. Things looking okay there for you from the Ozark Haven Home and Health Hospice camera. Cloudy skies as well. Not too windy, not too cold, either. Temperatures now sitting in the low 50s. We'll be about 52 this morning around 7:00 a.m. South winds are light, cloudy skies. Mostly cloudy and calm through about 9:00. And then we break the clouds away a little bit for the afternoon. About 75° later today and a mild and calm evening coming our way to wrap up the Wednesday. Looking up to the north and west, we've got the storm system spinning away. It's now made its way onshore and it's opening the door for several chances of rain and storm systems to blow through the Ozarks beginning Thursday night. So, that storm there has cleared the way for other energy to sweep in down south and come on by as we go into Thursday night to kick things off into your Friday morning. Saturday's a dry day and then more rain and storms lining up looks like Sunday into your Monday as well.
So, the storm risk for Thursday night, this is an overnight event into early Friday morning, is pretty low, but there's a slight risk to a marginal risk. Level one to level two in the yellow. Mostly looking at a damaging wind hazard as storms come out of Kansas, but there'll be a weakening trend north of I-44 like we've seen so much of this storm season so far.
Looking at Friday, that boundary, that leftover cold front will kind of stall briefly across southern Missouri and northern Arkansas. That'll be a focus for maybe a storm or two Friday afternoon across the south. So, a couple rounds of storms on the way for us.
Today, looking at Futurecast, cloudy start, partly cloudy to finish, a good day for Wednesday. Thursday, meanwhile, here locally, is windy and warm, but up northeast uh northwest across northeastern Kansas, find some storms pop off in the evening.
Those will make their way through the KC metro probably 10:00 at night getting into western Missouri after midnight.
And that'll be a weakening trend there, but still some heavy rain and thunderstorms midnight to about sunrise Friday morning. So, Friday morning drivers, especially early on, may have to contend with some heavy rain and thunderstorms to get the day going Friday. That fades away around midday, but then again, that boundary is going to set the stage for maybe a storm or two in the afternoon on Friday.
So, brief lull in the middle of the day Friday and then more storms possible down south Friday afternoon, Friday evening. That clears away Friday night into Saturday, things look dry. Rainfall potential for this next coming uh round Thursday night into Friday, this could find an inch, maybe 2 inches depending on who sees the heavier storms and who does not. The rainy weekend shuts down Saturday, but then rain and storms return Sunday into your Monday with another cold front blowing through Monday with more rain and storms to wrap things up there. 75° for today, mostly cloudy becoming partly cloudy. Tonight, upper 50s to low 60s.
79, a warm day and a windy day on Thursday. Thursday night, rain and storms move in with a cold front late.
That'll linger into your Friday morning as well. Friday itself, 74, rain showers and a few storms for the afternoon following the morning round. Saturday's a quiet day, more rain and storms Sunday, Monday. Chris, the risk of severe weather is low with each round, but there could be some hail, some wind occasionally with each round of storms.
Okay, as long as it's, you know, nothing that we haven't seen before, it's going to be a good old storm. An old thunder storm. Good old thunderstorm. We love those in the Midwest around here. Those are good to watch from your porch. They sure are. Yes. Uh little bit of lightning out there, too.
Heavy rain, which is needed in some spots.
And we'll bank in what we can. All right. Sounds
