Grandfather, husband of Greeneville double murder victims gives testimonyAjouté :
The third day of the trial of the man accused of double homicide in Greene County. Good evening. Thanks for joining us. I'm Sarah Diamond. And I'm Casey Marler. Jordan Allen facing two counts of first-degree murder. Allen accused of killing his 7-year-old brother and his grandmother in 2022 at their home in Greene County. Yesterday's proceedings included three TBI agents explaining photos and evidence found at the scene.
NewsChannel 11's Haley Pitcher has been in the courtroom during this trial. Haley, what can you tell us from the courtroom Yeah, Sarah. Bill Cole, Jesse and Jordan Allen's grandfather and the husband of Sherry Cole, has just Excuse me, just stepped off that witness stand. If you recall from the first day of trial, a footprint was found on the body of Sherry Cole. Now, that image was too graphic to air, but Bill Cole has testified a possible reason for that print. Take a listen.
Bill, is there any other way that blood could have ended up on your shoe?
>> I think I stepped on it. I mean, I I think through the process somewhere along the yard right there, I stepped on it.
I didn't even know it was her till they told me at the police station.
But I think putting them before I went in and put my shoes on, I'd stepped in it and I just didn't know it.
Cole said on the evening of April 24th, 2022, he could not find Jesse or Sherry and had at first assumed they had gone to the store before dinner. He later recalled Jordan had told him the two had been up on the hill earlier that day.
Cole testified he went outside without shoes on to search for them that evening. Once he hadn't found them on the hill, he contacted Sherry's mother.
The defense had a moment to cross-examine Cole. They so far have argued the Coles favored Jesse Allen over Jordan Allen, adding the Coles may have been abusive towards Jordan. Now, court proceedings are still in session right now. They are currently cross-examining some sheriff's deputies who responded to the scene on the night of April 24th, 2022. That stream is still up on our app WJHL Plus and we will still be providing updates both online and on our app WJHL Plus.
Reporting live in Greene County, Haley Pitcher, NewsChannel 11. Back to you, Sarah and Casey.
