Reality TV shows like Jury Duty's Company Retreat create compelling content by placing unsuspecting participants in fabricated scenarios where they form genuine relationships with actors, testing their psychological resilience and emotional responses to deception; the show's success depends on participants' ability to maintain their cover while experiencing authentic emotions, creating dramatic tension that viewers find both entertaining and emotionally engaging.

WE'RE SO EXCITED FOR THIS! | Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat 1x1 'Onboarding' First Reaction!Added:
All right. What's up, guys? I'm Bryce.
>> I'm Rob.
>> And I'm Z.
>> And we are Real Time. Today, we are here with Jury Duty presents company retreat.
This is uh episode one on boarding. And this is a little different for us. We're just kind of doing this cuz we want to.
And >> nobody asked for it.
>> Literally no one asked for it. So, if you're watching this, thank you. But Rob and I have watched season one of Jury Duty. Um, which is is just Jury Duty.
Um, absolutely hilarious. Uh, we've kind of explained the concept as Zaf who hasn't seen it. But I just think the whole idea of this is so cool. It's kind of just like a like a prank show, but like, you know, carried out um along a season and just way too long. They they just run it for way too long. But it's awesome. And season one was Ronald. It was uh iconic and now this is a company retreat. They just kind of I think had to find a different way to get someone involved with like the cameras and everything. But um the concept is really really cool. I think this season's going to be really funny as well. Maybe one day we'll go back and do jury duty. Um so Ze can watch it or maybe you'll watch it by yourself. But I I know it is like a separate, you know, entity from the first one, but I think um we might have a familiar face here in the first episode.
>> What >> the thumbnail had Ronald >> Oh, okay. I would imagine they do a recap or something.
>> No, but I'm really confused cuz it it it looks like he's going to be interacting with this guy. So, I don't I don't know how that works.
>> I feel like that's a big giveaway for the guy then. Yeah, I'm really confused.
I don't know. Maybe the thumbnail is just wrong. But um we'll see. Like I said though, this is a very different show than what we've ever done. This is literally I mean, have we ever done this? Is kind of like reality TV, right?
>> It it is technically >> Have we ever done reality TV?
>> No.
>> Modern Family, but that's about it.
>> That's a sitcom.
>> It's like It's like reality TV, but for everybody but one person. Yeah, it's scripted to a degree, but yeah, I'm very excited to watch this. Like, this is one of those shows I think we'd watch regardless if we didn't cover it on the channel just cuz it's really really uh fun to watch. But do you have any opinions off of what you're getting yourself into?
>> No, I'm excited. You told me the concept seems like it could be really funny.
Seems like I'm part of the jury um at this point against the other guy. And I would probably tell him he was in he was in the woods. He was in the dark. All right, guys. That is it though before we get into the show. If you guys are excited for the company retreat reactions, please drop a like, comment, and subscribe. Check out our links in the description. Yeah, let's get into it. Jury Duty presents Company Retreat episode one on boarding. Let's do it.
>> Can you just uh tell me a little bit about yourself?
>> Yeah. Um, so I'm 25. I'm from Nashville, Tennessee. Born and raised. Um, so I'm always giving it my 100%.
>> Awesome. Awesome. We're looking to hire a temp. It would be both for uh work in office and also a company retreat.
>> No, that's the thing is they switch it up this season because it'd be pretty obvious if they did the same bit.
>> If you were to do the job, are you okay with being on camera?
>> Absolutely.
>> He's just applying for a normal job.
>> We do any of the actors.
>> You are the future grandmas.
>> They kind of get like unknown people. so that it's easier to keep the secret. But last season they had James Marsden, >> but he was playing >> he was playing James Marsden. Yeah, >> it couldn't work in this situation cuz that was jury duty. Anyone can go. But >> yeah, >> it's so crazy to see how in character these people can stay for so long without breaking.
>> I really feel like I'm on a TV show and not not a documentary. Like this is something that you honestly Maybe not, cuz this is not something that you can just make up.
>> Hello, my name is Anthony Norman. Um, I'm here at Sorry.
>> You can do it, guys.
>> She needs to get a tongue scraper. I'm telling you, all that bacteria, it's just growing on that tongue.
>> So, now everyone else is in character and is an actor, not a real person.
>> I'm just an assistant. Um, I'm basically here to do whatever they need me to do.
>> You like chips? Yep.
>> You want to try this?
>> My name is PJ Green. Where do I look? Do I look at you?
>> Yeah, look at me. Unfortunately.
>> Okay. I I always want to look right in there.
>> And we like to What's up?
>> Couldn't get those papers that were on the >> Oh, yes. I'm sorry. It's a little >> It's cool cuz they're even in character like when he's not there.
>> Yeah, you they they have to stay in character.
>> I'm Kevin Gomez. I run HR here at Rock and Grandma's Hot Sauce. I consider myself kind of a big brother that you can come and share.
>> They like expose it at the end.
>> They did in season one. Yeah. The very end they for jumping on this deal >> is a huge deal for us every year.
>> It's kind of bad.
>> Not bad, but like >> it kind of [ __ ] him up a bit cuz he's like >> just imagine like living weeks of your life and then you realize all the people around you are acting.
>> Yeah. They were like it's like the Truman Show.
>> It's not real.
>> Sure. Maybe >> if one of us got like one of those like joke chain emails or something like that >> and like floed around the office or something >> sexual in nature.
>> Oh yeah, very much so.
>> No, I would do that.
>> I guess I'll for what if I forward it?
Fair enough. You know, >> I feel like this is going to be like almost like the office but just live like >> they're doing it >> until they go on the trip. Hi, Kevin.
>> I'm Amy Patterson. My go-to Starbies order is actually the same as Taylor Swift's go-to Starbies order. Isn't that so funny?
>> Not really.
>> I've been cooking the books here for 26 years. Never been audited that I remember.
>> Oh my god. Did you see what her cup said?
>> What did it say?
>> Probably bourbon.
Come on, Anthony.
>> Oh, me?
>> No, that's Anthony.
>> I'm retiring. So, uh, bye-bye Doug. Me, >> my son. He's going to be the new CEO and, uh, >> he's going to be funny.
>> Doug, he he's nice. Um, he was a bit scary just cuz, you know, he's obviously the big boss man. He didn't look bad, but how serious he takes his business and what he >> he seems like a nice guy. It's going to get crazy.
>> I want I want to watch the first season with you, dude.
>> I'm I'm done, by the way.
>> I'm dad's son, >> Anthony.
>> I'm dad's son.
>> I lived in Jamaica for like four years.
So, >> um, but yeah, I just kind of like fell in love, linked up with these dudes.
We're like jamming with the lobby band.
You're the dry profits band.
>> This has like been the slogo forever.
Like it'll rock your socks off. It'll rock your socks off. kind of emphasize the offer.
>> Yeah. Right.
>> We're rocking grandma. I feel like she should be like >> rocking out.
>> You know what I mean?
>> I'm like I want to put in the work. You know what I mean? I want to show that I'm not just some like Nepo kid that's like >> So, it's not really like there's no like actual lines or anything.
>> I don't think I think they have like they know where they're supposed to take it and they just kind of go off that.
>> Yeah. I think there's >> it's a lot. It's just mostly improv.
>> Yeah, >> Douggee. He might be a little worried about jumping into something new. Um, you know, especially when it's a family business, he down to have one conversation with them.
>> He's going to like form friendships with these people and then find out that they're not real.
What we're saying is like senioritis, you know, like we're all kind of wait like, you know, >> are they together kind of feeling?
>> I think she crushes on him for sure, right?
>> The head of HR.
>> I feel like that he's going to they're going to have an affair.
>> Oh, beautiful. That's my guy right there. Well, he's my he like I said, he's my guy.
>> Who's to say I can't be both of you guys?
>> Who's got I love you, Kevin.
>> You, too.
>> Here, take a seat. Take a seat.
>> You think he thinks there's something going on?
>> Yeah.
>> I want to show you something. Okay. This is exciting.
>> I want to show my look on your face.
>> I haven't been able to tell anybody else. Night one of the retreat.
>> I propose to Amy. Yo, >> I will probably go for like in front of everybody, especially cuz y'all are a close-knit family. I think you're I think you're right. I like I like I was in my own head. I was getting in my own head about it and now I actually now that I hear it out loud, I'm like I'm going to do it in public because I think it's the best way to do it.
>> Excited. Excited to get the retreat started.
>> Excited. Very excited.
>> It's uh it's sort of the calm before a lot of lot of fun.
I'm I'm expecting this to like not take place as long of a time as season 1 did though.
>> Yeah. Like this is probably going to be like a week.
>> Yeah. He said he was a temp for a week or in a week >> or like the first season he got he like got sequestered with them for a month. I think it was >> here at the retreat. I like to cut loose and really just have fun.
>> And so I'm excited to see this.
>> For the duration of the retreat, >> you can call me Captain Fun.
>> And you're going to be Lieutenant Fun.
Yes. And so I get a hat, too.
>> Uh, no. If we both had hats, it would confuse people.
>> Just a little jealous you pulled that one out.
>> Kevin is Captain Fun and I'm Lieutenant Fun because I'm his assistant. And our job is to keep everybody happy and um keep a positive energy.
>> Dude, it's making me sad.
>> I'm so sorry I didn't have your sign up.
The group that came before you guys, they just checked out and they were a bit of a headache.
>> Oh, that's okay.
>> Terrible human beings.
>> Mean Oh, here they come. Rocking Grandma is here.
>> Captain Fun.
hot.
>> You got chili necklaces.
>> You think uh like a a girl like make a move on him?
>> I don't know. I think that'd be [ __ ] >> Yeah, I think that's a little too far.
>> Didn't one one of them show up to Ronald's room last season in like a banana hammock?
>> Yeah. I think she was really into Mechy Leaper's character, though.
>> Got Clara's here.
Hey, wait. So, I'm just going to put on really quick. Sorry.
>> On your clothes.
>> It's my first retreat. Um, I work remote and meeting everyone for the first time in person today. I thought you were black, honey.
>> I just like wanted to meet him in person because obviously it's, you know, it's Doug's last retreat before before he dies.
Honey.
>> Yeah, it's his last one.
>> No, he's retiring.
>> Not because he's dying.
>> He was saying some stuff and I saw kind of like a >> I don't know. Yeah. Well, that's good.
The first person I kind of connected with, I would say, is Douggee.
>> This is the spoon that was used by my grandma.
>> The recipe, >> Grandma Ros, your great-grandmother. My grandmother used to stir the pot and make the sauce. And she used to say that the main ingredient was love. And I always, you know, held that to my heart.
>> You're smelling the spoon.
>> I am giving you this spoon. Now, stir the sauce. Well, you are the future of rock and grandma's.
>> Give it up for my son Douggee Lac Jr.
>> The feeling of what it's like to be. I want to be able to, you know, pass something down to my son.
>> No, dude. He's way too cool.
>> You feel bad a little bit.
>> It'll be worth it.
>> No. What if he hates it at the end? This means this is a torture show.
>> So, how are you feeling about the retreat, Anthony?
>> Oh, I'm feeling really good.
>> Anthony, >> from here on out, everyone should just call me other Anthony.
>> Actually, >> I'm Lieutenant Fun. Scratch.
>> Hey, >> they got to be nice to him. You know, people think this job was handed to me and I'm just excited to like prove that it's not like a hand job. It's a earn job.
in the time capsule.
>> Oh, do you remember the time capsule?
>> Yes, >> that's going to be crazy.
>> I know. What's in that?
>> Is this the the time the one we buried in 2017?
>> I remember a lot of that night.
>> Oh.
>> Oh, god.
>> Can you just stand in real quick? Just so I just so I know how it's >> Amy Patterson. I love you. Will you marry me?
>> I think she's going to love it.
>> Yeah, I I know she's going to love it.
Oh, it looks great on camera, too.
>> Does it look good?
>> Yeah.
>> Oh, are they coming? Here we go. Maybe I can't do this.
>> What's happening right now?
>> I think he's going to back out.
>> Is it?
>> Is this like another birthday thing?
>> Yeah. Yeah, definitely.
>> Um, Amy.
>> What if he What if he says no? Oh, god.
My >> fondest memories of this job have been with you, >> especially at this retreat. This >> is so cool.
We then in there made a promise to each other that if we both reached the age of 40, neither of us were married >> that we would marry each other.
>> So, >> oh no, >> here I am.
>> Look at him in the background.
>> Oh no.
>> Will you marry me?
>> Kevin.
>> Kevin. No. No.
>> Were they Were they even dating?
>> Oh, what?
>> No. No. I know what we said and that it's a really cute movie, but I mean Kev, we we've never even been on a date.
>> We went out to dinner the other night for your birthday.
>> Yeah, but it was me and you and eight of my other girlfriends. Kevin, what?
>> Oh, okay.
>> Oh, no.
>> Oh, that's so bad.
>> Were you going to propose a hat? That hat?
>> Oh, we didn't take it off.
>> No, I did. I do love you like a friend.
Like, I love you. I love you like a >> I got you. It's a joke. I got I got you.
It's a joke. No, it's a joke. This is a joke. Anthony, you you know it's a joke.
>> It's a joke.
>> Hey guys.
>> Captain.
>> Oh my god.
>> I know, dude. That's crazy.
>> This isn't even a real ring, by the way.
Not even a real ring.
>> Fake proposal. back rig. You know, >> fun, guys.
>> Um, walk with me just for >> that actually was not a joke. That was a really >> I was going to say at least now she knows how she how you feel about her genuinely. But >> you told her it's a joke. So, >> just wait here one second. Okay. Just just wait here one second. I'm here for you, man. Whatever you need. Thank you so much.
under new management.
>> He probably feels crazy bad.
>> So, >> I think I said >> I can't face Amy right now and I can't face anybody else right now for for for the moment. You're Captain Fun now.
Okay. Come here.
>> Okay. Take a breath. Breathe. No. All right.
>> Yeah. No, I appreciate it. I appreciate it.
>> Oh, dude. He's such a good guy.
>> Do you like him?
>> Yeah. He's awesome.
>> Just tell him I had diarrhea. Tell him I got subpoenaed by the court or >> Okay.
Excuse me.
>> You think he'll tell Doug promoted Captain Funk?
>> Yeah.
>> This is not what he signed up for.
>> I don't think he's villaining really good. Oh my gosh.
>> Oh boy.
Come on.
>> Write a song about it and be donuts.
>> Who's never even been on a date?
>> So, I've only been with her for like 3 days. It's like >> So, that sounds like a lot.
>> Yeah.
>> I'm sure no one would blame you if you wanted to leave, too.
>> No. No.
>> All right, guys. So, told me you guys let told me to let you guys know that he had to leave because he had some family issues. continue with the uh retreat and let's have a good time.
>> And you're Captain Fun now.
>> It's okay.
>> All right.
>> Yeah. Cool.
>> Okay.
>> Let's have a good time, y'all. Right.
It's quiet. Come on, y'all. Let's do it.
Yeah, >> dude.
>> He's bringing up the vibe. Oh [ __ ] >> I got a promotion. Let's have a good time.
>> He's so good with people.
>> He's rallying the troops.
>> Is he good with people?
>> Here is the family aspect.
>> He has a bottle of bourbon. Did you see what the the cop said?
>> I said that earlier.
>> I freaking hater.
>> It's too easy. It's too easy.
>> When you get a feeling in the pit of your stomach and you can define it as nervousness or you can define it as excitement. I choose to define it as excitement.
>> Kevin's gone. Doug is taking over. I mean, there's a lot going on. I just hope I can make this retreat a success.
Can I use this?
>> That was a awesome first episode, first experience. I mean, right off the gate, I just feel terrible for Anthony. I mean, this feels like a horrible prank on him and he's going to make all these friendships, maybe even find love here at the camp um at the retreat. But, I mean, that was crazy, that wedding proposal. I mean, how do you even act to someone? I would just I wouldn't be able to like I would be so weird. I feel like feel like he handled everything in the episode everything like in every aspect so well. I mean I'm just I'm so impressed and I felt this way in the first season too just like with how they don't break.
>> Like I I would I would not have been able to hold myself back during that proposal scene. Like I I would have lost it and I I mean that just means I'd be a bad actor. But it's just so cool.
>> Or it could be part of your character, though, too.
>> Yeah. I feel like they could kind of play it off if they do break a little bit.
>> Yeah.
>> It's just I don't know, man. I know. I'm going to still I feel like there's going to even be more moments where make me feel way worse. It's going to get way worse.
>> Yeah. It's going to be cool. Um but I enjoyed that a lot. I'm ready. Let's go.
Let's get number two.
>> Yeah, this was a good start. I really like this cast so far. Ronald in season one was also just such a great guy and like everyone was like this is the perfect person that could have this could have happened to like he's so nice and it kind of feels like Anthony is falling into that same category here. He just seems like such a good guy. Uh, and I like the fact that that lady gave him the option like you like I wouldn't judge you for leaving right now because then I feel like that kind of like kills any suspicion if they're just like, "Yeah, you can leave if you want to."
And he's like, "No, I'll stay." But yeah, I just know things are going to get so much worse and funnier in this show. Uh, the company retreat's going to be so good. I wonder if uh what's what's the guy's name that proposed? Do we know? I kind of forget it. Captain Fun.
>> Captain Fun.
>> Um I wonder if he's going to return ever, but that that was just hilarious seeing um the proposal and then play it off like a joke. Uh so so good. I want to learn more about some of these other characters that they didn't focus on too much, but uh it's, you know, the same kind of vibe as season 1. I like the like the group confessionals, too. Those are always some of the funniest moments.
But uh yeah, this was a very strong start. I'm super excited to continue.
>> Yeah, I really liked this episode.
Anony's great so far. Um I feel like you need uh a person like that as the the main guy for it to work well because I feel like Zuff, you were feeling it for the first time. like you you feel bad for him because he is so great and you you feel sympathy and I feel like it makes it feel a lot better and uh just more entertaining. You care about the the person more rather than if they were just like a jerk to everybody. So yeah, Anony's really great. I feel like we barely scratched the surface with a lot of the employees, co-workers. Like I'm pretty sure we met all of them, but uh not many of them really got a chance to shine.
And I'm just I'm looking forward to >> I'm just thinking about that time capsule and that guy >> and I don't really remember much of that >> 10 years ago like a dildo or something.
>> It's going to be bad. But I'm really excited to see the relationships between the co-workers develop more and just see what they have planned for the rest of this trip and like the situ like the scripted situations that are just going to happen to Anthony like the proposal.
And yeah, it's just it's just going to be so much fun and I think that's why we're watching the show in the first place is cuz we're having fun watching it. If you guys like our videos, make sure you like, comment, subscribe, check out our links in the description of the Patreon, the Discord and all of our social medias.
